Marika's lightning narrowly misses the flying snake, which hisses at her.
Round 1

Ripping the canteen off his belt, Osten vigorously attempts to wash the venom out of his eyes.
I am using snake venom for my light source. So, why is it so dark?
Sees-Far-Ahead
|
Our lady in furs has a prismatic crytal, and if she needs to hold it for light, she will put away her spear and wield Clanky's Arm.
Seeing the snake spitting on her friends, the lady in furs impels a pile of rubble at the beast, hoping to knock it out of the sky.
I will cast telekinetic projectile on the flying snake.

Round 1 (continued)
Uthread hits the snake with an arrow, drawing blood and a hiss from the flying beast.
Kageko hurls a shuriken, which misses and clanks off the stone ceiling.
Sees-Far-Ahead impels a pile of rubble at the beast, hitting it with a few pebbles but not doing major damage.
Osten tries to wash the venom out of his eyes. Fort DC 15: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 He fights off the Con damage of the venom, but remains blinded.
Marika unleashes more lightning, but misses.

Uthraed of Galt
|
Oh, god now I am blinded. This place keeps getting better.
Uthraed frantically attempts to wipe venom from his eyes with his free hand and backs up against the wall, shielding himself with his bow arm.
I am not sure how combat would work or what kind of offensive penalty I would take so instead I will attempt to get the stuff out of my eyes and go full defensive.
| GM Lamplighter |
Round 2 (continued)
Uthread (blind), Kageko, Sees-Far-Ahead, Osten (blind), Marika!
Uthread goes defensive and tries to remove the venom from his eyes, to no avail. (When blinded, you really can't attack unless you konw what square they're in, which is pretty impossible at range.
Kageko's shuriken clinks off the ceiling again and falls to the floor on the far side of the room.
Sees-Far-Ahead scatters some more rubble at the snake, hitting it again for minor damage.
Osten can't locate the creature well enough to throw his weapon.
Marika hits the creature with more lightning, then withdraws a scroll. (Note: the creature is 20' up, so you may have range issues with that scroll.)
End of Round 2!

Round 3 (continued)
Uthread pulls out his waterskin and sprays his eyes, trying to clear the burning venom.
Kageko hurls another shuriken across the room.
Sees-far-Ahead projects a larger rock at the flying snake, but it easily dodges the missile.
Osten continues to wash his eyes as well.[/ooc]
Marika moves forward under the flying snake and reads her scroll, unleashing a cone of fire straight up at the creature! Ref save DC 11: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 The flames singe the snake's feathery wings, but seem to do only a little damage.

"Just...just go away!" Marika adds, this time taking Osten's suggestion to heart and trying to lure the snake into the hallway with her, as long as it's focused on her anyway.
Moving 'off the map' behind Kageko and Sees, going total defense this round just because it seems rather fixated.
Kageko

Kageko backs up to let Marika pass, her hand dropping back down to her hilt. "I pray this works, Milady, for to be honest I'm out of better ideas..."

The Pathfinders have worked their way through the Temple Interior, and have discovered that the serpentfolk are performing some kind of ritual in a basement level called the Ophidian Rectory. Perhaps if you rush there you can learn all about the serpentfolk's ancient sacrificial techniques.

Oh, also potential save some people. That could be important too.
The Temple Interior is now claimed and the Ophidian Rectory is now discovered! Can we stop the ritual in time? The map is now updated with both the district unlock and the recent aid token transfers. Remember, you still count as one subtier higher for the purpose of your aid token benefits!

Round 4 (continued)
AS you ready your various attacks, a group of Pathfinders runs into the Temple from the north. "There's a ritual going on down here - Shane says we need everyone!" shouts a man in gleaming armor. "Stop playing around with that seru, and let's go!" He points at the creature and mutters a prayer, and a bolt of electricity blasts the creature against the wall where it crumples and falls to the stone floor.
Combat over! Also, we got an aid token back, which behaves is if it were for subtier 3-4!
| GM Lamplighter |
You follow the group downstairs and along a series of passages. Ahead you can hear a faint sound, as of air leaking out of a container. The hissing grows until you can distinguish syllables and cadence, and you realize that it is the serpentfolk equivalent of chanting.
As you enter the massive, domed chamber, some heavy presence within claws at the chest and weighs the air itself down. Strange glows emanate from the cardinal points of this massive, circular chamber. In the center of the room, an elevated, spiraling staircase entwines a column of stone, atop which sits an altar.
On top of the altar lies a bound figure, and standing above is a hideous serpent-man holding a sacrificial knife. Your view of this figure is slightly impeded, however, by the dozens of serpentfolk and snake-like abominations filling the room. With a cry, the assembled Pathfinders charge, and the battle is joined!
Your way is blocked by a cadre of once-human skeletons, wearing shreds of clothing in ancient Azlanti style. A large boa constrictor has also taken notice of you and is slithering in your direction.

Yellow moves forward as well, attacking the same target. sword: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1 Its ancient sword shatters on Osten's armor, and it drops it in favor of its unnaturally-sharp claws.
Sees-Far-Ahead, Marika are up! (Delaying the snake to make initiative go faster.) Remember, you have an aid token.
Sees-Far-Ahead
|
Aid tokens are better if they're used- -after last fight, I suppose we ought to get ourselves a bard.
Sees-Far-Ahead takes a swing at the closest skeleton.
This does not include the theoretic aid-token-bard.
Clanky's Arm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 for Bludgeoning: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Marika groans. "This day's getting ridiculous." She pushes the charge through her body again, waiting for the proper moment to move in.
Casting Shocking Grasp, waiting behind the line for the moment.

Round 1 (continued)
Sees-Far-Ahead swings her oddly-shaped club at a skeleton, but misses. Alas, the skeletons are mindless, but the snake is not immune to your magic.
Marika casts a spell, waiting for the right moment to unleash it at the enemy.
The boa slithers forward, seemingly more aggressive than a normal snake, and heads straight for Sees-Far-Ahead. bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5grab: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 The serpent bites her and holds on, wrapping itself around her in a tight embrace.

Green, unable to reach anyone, stands dumbly behind its fellows.
Uthread, Kageko, Osten are up. Please weigh in on the possible use of the aid token or not.
Osten Grimhelm

Osten realizes that this is why he is here, to take the brunt of this assault. He slides into his bloodrage and attacks.

I vote bardy inspiration for the AID TOKEN, I think we could use it.
If 'orange' goes down, Osten takes a 5' step southeast into its square.
Marika Vanhannen
|
Yeah, aid token.
EDIT: Alternate possibility since we're doing so badly. Can we use the Aid Token's channel energy function for a damaging channel? At that point odds are good we're only dealing with the constrictor if that works. Don't know if that even works, but if it does I vote for that instead of Inspiration right now. If not, inspiration it is.
Uthraed of Galt
|
I am not sure if I can see anyone from where I was or if I can move to where I moved myself to. If not I will have to rethink everything but for now this is my move.
He feels sick but at least he can see again. Uthraed moves up grabbing an arrow and drawing his bow as he does. He fires at the serpent.
I grow tired of battle I do wish I had a good book to read.

Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

As for the aid token I like Markia's idea to take out the skeletons.
Also I don't know how to roll crit, as I have never crited before...
| GM Lamplighter |
Alas, aid tokens are for aid, not attack... so aid it is.
Uthread: it's -4 to hit there due to cover, but a nat 20 will do!
Round 1 (continued)
Uthread fires an arrow and skewers the serpent through the head, and it slowly unwinds from Sees-Far-Ahead and drops limply to the floor.
Kageko tries to get through the throng blocking the passage, but can't, and so delays.
Osten shatters the orange skeleton into shards and advances forward.
End of Round 1!
