I guess the action I stated should be considered canceled then. Too much will have changed by the time my next action comes up.
Tyraneus
|
Tyraneus continues to drink at the bar as he observes the spectacle before him, between the fight and his companions.
Holding action until I see where this is going.
Brodey
|
Brodey will watch the crowd more closely to get a better feel for them.
I the player didn't really expect the immediate reaction to an assault on the proprietor to be betting on the outcome & no interference. My experience is that attacking the master of ceremonies or a bartender tends to go rather worse than that. Perhaps Brodey's better at spotting a hint to that dynamic than I am
sense motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Brodey will also edge to within 20' of the conversation, indicating to Lunaea that she should stay close
This might involve not moving, as that's where I was when the fight started, but I had the impression the booth was a bit further away.
Kelsier Palance

Brodey, per the discussion thread the DM gave Anub'arak to change her action. She chose something that is less likely to trigger combat, so we are back to Anara talking to Ichon. No fight yet.
Lunaea Moonstruck
|
Yes, I think the last thing that happened before the start of hostilities was Anara said something to Ichon (with a high Dip roll), so it's Ichon's turn to respond.
Lunaea stays just behind Brodey as he edges closer to the center of things, wanting to be able to help if Anara needs it.
| DM Kludde |
I'm going to pick it back up here:
"umm. I have absolutely no idea what you just said. scragged? berks? peeled? Would you have preferred if I said gal who owns this place? Woman? Person beside the magical human?" Anara adds, her eyebrows quirked in confusion, but showing no signs of being afraid of the woman in front of her."Anyways, we have business to discuss, business about a certain supplier of yours and the product he produces for you, lets just say I'm interested in it. We can talk about it here if you insist, but then you never know who could overhear." Anara mentions.
You from out of town Lady? Ichon responds. Nobody here's gonna peel me, they know better 'an that. (Boy, is she wrong...) Pay the music now, tell me what this 'business' of yours is. Narcotics? Contraband? Need some pathfinders mugged?
Oleander Anwamanë

"I'm interested in one of your contacts actually, an alchemist named Senzer. Went to visit him earlier, apparently your 'help' didn't like my discussions with him and it led to quite a bit of drama that I had to deal with. I would have prefered to not have started my day with bloodshed but sometime it just can't be helped." Anara replies with a shrug of the shoulders. "Don't worry your help is still alive, just a little rougher for wear."
"Regardless, it seems like poor Mr. Senzer is afraid that my little display may result in some unpleasantness towards him so I told the guy I would take of it." She adds offhand.
"Again, I would really prefer to do this without bloodshed, and it sounds like Senzer just wants the cure for his little boy, and a guarantee he's safe and he'll be happy. What's it going to take to make you happy?" Anara asks.
| DM Kludde |
Is everybody happy with their position on the map? Bellu is the blue token, Ichon the red one
Oleander Anwamanë
|
Either two squares north for Orophin or one west, somewhere with her back to a wall. Where is the door?
Tyraneus
|
I am good!
| DM Kludde |
Of course sweetheart, I don't mind you roughing up my men, do I know? DO I? Get them Bellu!
She motions Belly, grabs a potion, and starts drinking it.
Initiative. Brodey and Oleander may act before Ichon.

same plan. Move Brodey just south of Bellu, just to the right of Ichon. Except that she's pinned between a table and Anara, preventing any useful 5' steps that get her out of his reach, which modifies the approach slightly. This move will provoke an AOO from Bellu if she has combat reflexes.
Brodey moves next to her, drawing his flail as he moves. He readies to disarm whatever it is she's she's reaching for (figuring it is a weapon, wand, spell component, unholy symbol...something that will mess her up if it isn't in her hand).
flail disarm: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 = 14
If she provokes another aoo (eg, by trying to move away from me more than 5', Brodey will try to trip her)
flail aoo trip: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 2 = 23
oh well. Wish I could have kept my old dice. Might still work though if she isn't strong
| DM Kludde |
Do you mean north of Ichon (red token), east of Bellu (blue icon) by any chance? I'm seeing flank bonuses...
Seeing a hostile move by Ichon, Oleander sends an arrow flying, hitting the summoner in the arm.
Ichon reaches for her potion, and tries to drink it, but Brodey interferes: with a quick flailing motion, he trips the summoner (yes, drinking a potion is Aoo-worthy...), then smashes the potion from her hand, sending it crashing across the tavern floor.
The customers make room, forming a large combat pit, cheering the combatants on in a bloodthirsty frenzy.

Lunaea hexes the summoner, who collapses on the floor. In turn, Bellu disappears, leaving only the defenceless summoner

"Nothing to see here. Go back to your drinks." snarls Oleander at the crowd.

Tyraneus

Tyraneus looks up from his drink at the bar as suddenly an arrow flies and the summoner goes to the ground and falls asleep. The cleric shakes his head as he smiles and helps Oleander clear the crowd.
There is nothing to see here. Get back NOW! but his voice seems to squeak as he seems really intimidated by the crowd instead.
intimidate: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5
Brodey
|
Anara and Kelsier can decide if they do a killing Coup de Grace or help Brodey knock her out before she wakes, since they would have gone before he could have taken another action to kick her in the head.
Brodey will say loudly to nobody in particular, as he hooks his flail back on his belt and picks up the body (living or dead) of the summoner and slings her over his shoulder in a fireman's carry. His pole arm is still carried (but not "wielded") in his left hand.
Well, we were hired to "reason" with her after she cheated our client. I guess she can join her thugs and we'll let the boss decide how to extract payment. Anara, how much of a discount do you think we can get on our supplies from him as a bonus for a quick job?
With his body language and deference to her opinion he's trying to set up Anara as the person in charge of our little squad. After all, if her subordinates so easily defeated this local thug, how badass must she be?
Brodey takes 10 on intimidate for a 15
| DM Kludde |
Turns out, there is a lot to see. A lot to grab too. With the fall of Ichon, the hard hand that rules the place is gone, and the cheering crowd becomes a looting crowd. The bookkeeper is overrun, and anything of value is stripped form the place by the frenzied mob.
Only the bartender seems to remain calm, though somewhat intimidated by the adventurer's prowess have a drink on me! the bartender says Name's Weigo. Congratulations on being the new owner of the Sanguine Pit. he adds with a lopsided smile.
Kelsier Palance

Kelsier moves to stand over Ichon to prevent anyone in the crowd from doing anything to her.
Your action is fine with me, Brodey.
Kelsier glowers at the crowd. Aid Brodey, Intimidate: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5
EDIT: I'm a useless intimidater. Hopefully my action will prevent Ichon herself from being looted.
The more perceptive of us should look for hidden loot stashes and the like, while Anara should probably talk to Weigo.
Lunaea Moonstruck
|
A little aghast at the scene unfolding in front of her, Lunaea contributes the only useful thing she has to offer in the moment, Make sure you tie her hands so she can't summon anything else!
Then she has an idea and whispers it to Anara, That bartender seems pretty comfortable here. Maybe we can give him the establishment and have a new ally.
Anara Resario

Acrobatics(Performance Dance) take 10 = 19
Satisfied with her companions quick work on Ichon, Anara saunters up to the bar and easily jumps onto the counter, the little halfing easily clearing the height required to stand comfortably on top of the bar. She subtly nods to Lunaea, liking the idea of the bartender taking control.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 Trying to change attitude. Likely from indifferent to friendly.
She looks out over the crowd, and sternly yells. "This is my establishment now! Stop your looting, so we can get back to the gambling and drinking!"
Anara looks down at her companions. Sorry, Sorry, Sorry "Make sure to keep the peace in this place, and deal with this Ichon lady. I would prefer to minimize the injuries that this looting is sure to incur." Not that we are all that intimidating a lot apparently, lol
Nervous, and unsure, but trying to keep her persona going, Anara casually turns around and drops into a waiting seat at the bar.Take 10 acrobatics She looks over at the bartender. "I would like a glass of my finest drink, and a bit of your time to question you about your qualifications to run this place."
Brodey
|
Brodey carries Ichon over to the table so we can go through her stuff more easily (somebody in this party can do magic detection right?).
If that potion survived he'd try to corral it too, but if it rolled into the crowd somebody's probably pretty happy right now.
he'll keep up the take 10 intimidate (=15) and generally behave like Anara's Sergeant. His focus will be on keeping a small area around Anara clear of people, so we can stay together, Anara can have her conversation with the barkeep and strip Ichon of any weapons, magic items, valuables efficiently.
Brodey will try to aid Anara's diplomacy by treating her as someone important who should be listened to. diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1 However I think he mostly succeeds in being scary.
Tyraneus
|
Tyraneus takes a look about the bar for anything unusual as it looks as if Brodey and Anara have everything under control for the moment.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

The elf watches the scene unfold.
Scowling she takes note of the crowd, and scans the place for any obvious 'office' or other area that Ichon would keep stuff.

| DM Kludde |
The potion that Ichon tried to use lies on the floor, but the content have spilled. She is carrying a second potion, a chain shirt and a masterwork morningstar.
The crowd calms a bit after Anara's display, tending more towards 'getting out of here' and less toward 'looting the place'.
Oleander finds a cabinet under the bar, containing the strong liquors, as well as a wooden compartment containing Ichon's high-end narcotics. Among them is a bottle of concentrated liquid, which is unmistakably the cure for Senzer's boy.
Oleander Anwamanë
|
"We have what we came for. Lets scadaddle."
Says the elf. She looks at Ichon - "Do we bring her with us, or dump her in the tank?"
How ruthless are these people?
Tyraneus
|
If we murder her outright we will be no better than she is. Reason with her and give her a chance to redeem herself in the eyes of Sarenrae before she is judged and condemned. I suggest we tie her up for now. We have what we came for.
Tyraneus stands to block any harm to the defenseless woman.
Would fellow pathfinders really murder a unconscious defenseless person?
Kelsier Palance

Kelsier, already standing watch over Ichon, steps closer to her at Oleander's words.
He nods at Tyraneus, and then at Brodey.
Lunaea Moonstruck

I'm happy to put her in the cellar with the others and leave this place to sort itself out. It will be interesting to see what she has to say for herself when she wakes up. But yes, I think Senzer should have some say in this. He'll know best what is required to restore his business to its formerly functional state in this town. Our... colleagues... really need those potions of his.
Oleander Anwamanë
|
Well, that is something anyway.
"How do we take her through town? Stick her in a potatoe sack?"
She looks behind the bar for a suitable concealment for the drug lord.
| DM Kludde |
At this point, the defeated Ichon carries no authority in this establishment anymore. The customers are certainly far busier getting out of here and looting the place. Carrying Ichon through the streets may indeed cause some heads being turned.
Tyraneus
|
Weekend at Bernie's her. Two people carry her and pretend she had too much too drink.
| DM Kludde |
The party carries the unconscious summoner to Senzer's shop. The alchemist's reaction one of mild shock: What's SHE doing here? Oooh, he moans, That is bad. I'm glad to be rid of her, but me and my son, we have to leave this place. It's no longer safe here, the Aspis will surely come for revenge, sooner or later.
It's not the adventurer's fault really. Senzer ran into trouble with Ichon and the consortium before. Senzer vouches he will stay until his son has recovered, then leave the town, keeping Ichon in custody for as long as it takes.
Leaving the trading post and the caravan driver as possible next targets. Where do you want to go next?
Oleander Anwamanë
|
"We need your potions Senzer. We've helped you out here, how are you going to help us?"
Yeah, probably out of scope of the scenario, but still, gota ask
"We need supplies, and a lot of them. And a way to move them. Who can we talk to about that without raising suspicion amongst the Aspis?"
