Anara and Brodey miss their attacks, while Oleander's arrow hits, but proves rather ineffective. Kelsier's slash sends bones chipping off just as Tyraneus moves and bathes the skeletons in a bright light. When all is settled, three of of the five skeletons have settled as dust.

He then 5' steps into Kelsier's square, using friendly switch to change places with Kelsier, which hopefully lets him 5' step and full-attack the skeleton (if it survived) or give him a clear charge lane to the last skeleton (if it did not)

5 foot step back so that the skeleton has to come fully in the room to attack and can't get partial cover from the corner.
First damage roll, two-handed: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
If Brodey didn't kill the skeleton, the attack roll becomes an 18 after TWF penalty and no charge bonus, and the damage becomes a 12 without the damage bonus for being wielded two-handed.

"I've never seen such things. If there are more like them, then my arrows will be useless." says the elf. The frustration, and perhaps a hint of fear, are clear in her voice.
Still, she keeps her bow in hand.
"Did you want me to scout the front, or bring up the rear?"
Kelsier Palance

Kelsier likewise will sheath his double sword and retrieve his dropped Guisarme.
I will follow closely if you take point. Your eyes are better than mine.

Oleander slips quietly into the lead. She then carefully progresses down the corridor, taking her time to look at the sights, and being increasingly wary of what else may lurk in this corridor.

DM, what is the chain shirt I'm wearing? I never caught the identification
-Posted with Wayfinder

Kelsier, it is a +1 chain shirt
With Oleander and Kelsier taking point, the end of the corridor empties into another room. The fifteen-by-fifteen-foot room is constructed entirely of the same smooth-white material seen on the sphere outside. A single white pillar stretches floor-to-ceiling in the center of the room, and in a niche rests a smooth, white, hand-sized square covered in glyphs and runes similar to those on the complex’s front door.
Oleander Anwamanë
|
Oleander looks into the room, without entering.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
"Can any of you read those runes? Or know what that white metal is?" she asks.
Lunaea Moonstruck
|
Lunaea thinks back to the runes she saw on the door as they entered. Actually, those did look familiar. I'll be happy to take a look if I can have a bodyguard..., she smiles.
linguistics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
| DM Kludde |
The readings on the cube are massively obscure - they combine arcane marks with carvings from times long past. These markings are high Azlanti, and definitely spell out some kind of warning or instruction. Lunaea recognises only one word: 'sentinel'.
Anara Resario
|
Anara whistles as they walk into the next room, impressed by the room they've entered.
Skeletons, crazy glyphs and runes, this place is different.

Tyraneus

disturbed undead is never a good sign Tyraneus says as he observes the seamless room.
Lunaea Moonstruck
|
Hmm. There is that sphere out in the dig site. I wonder if this cube activates it. We were looking for something that would provide protection - this may be our only hope against that army of apes. Or the last thing we ever do...
The Master did give us the key to this place, which suggests he knows more than he's telling about it. No doubt his High Azlanti is better than mine. she says with a wry smile. We may have no choice but to trust him on that matter.
Oleander Anwamanë
|
Oleander cautiously moves into the room. She slowly circles it, taking her time, looking for any other exits.
"The undead guardians don't really fit with the rest of this place, do they?"
Kelsier Palance
|
Maybe we missed some important clue in the alcoves or the last room?

| DM Kludde |
The smaller cube seems detached from the main pillar, and can be easily transported.
Oleander Anwamanë
|
What suits of armour?
"I wonder what happens if we take the cube?"
She reaches forwards, giving everyone a moment to tell her to stop.
| DM Kludde |
The cube gives way without much resistance. There is no trap, no ambush, no dust even. The cube is perfectly clean.
Outside, the sound of battle is swelling.
Lunaea Moonstruck
|
C'mon, we've got to help! Let's see if this cube animates the guardians in the first room or the sphere - there's no time to lose!
Lunaea runs back to the first room to see if there's any way to activate the Guardian statues, heedless of any danger.
If nothing happens there, she'll urge the group to go outside and see if they can activate the sphere by pressing the cube into it.
| DM Kludde |
The adventurers emerge from the exploration of the Azlanti site, Oleander having the cube in hand. As soon as the adventurers have climbed up from the dig, a large rock smashes a hole in the palisade wall, and moments later a hoard of screeching, chattering ape-men plunge through it and flood the camp. In the distance, their horrible champion—a four-armed gorilla, fifteen feet tall and causing the ground to shake with each step, intelligently scans his troops and roars at them, causing the ape-men to devolve into a frenzy.

Double move- end 1 square south of the "B" of B4 and draw scimitar
Brodey
|
Brodey's in an environment too cluttered to run, so he will also double move closer to the foe, trusting his smarter teammates to make the right decision without any input from him between playing with the artifact or supporting with ranged attacks.
Brodey ends up one column left of the leftmost tents, and between the bottom tent and the next tent above it. (he goes diagonal until he reaches that column, then goes up 3 squares, lucern hammer ready)
| DM Kludde |
Tyraneus and Brodey take up tactical positions as the huge four-armed monkey demon smashes through defenders as if they're tinder sticks. This creature is powerful beyond imagine.
Oleander, just behind the tents, falls unconscious as the monkey demon swipes through the first defenders.
Your mind is now inside, and in control of this. You're stationed in the first room of the azlanti ruins, and you can move out to be just behind Anara and Lunaea. When your turn comes up, act as this creature

Emerging from within the structure is a large, or should that be large creature of iron.
Its steps are slow, measured and completly unstopable.

Will stop beside Tyraneus.
Lunaea Moonstruck
|
Trying to assess this confusing situation with her admittedly limited tactical skills, Lunaea decides that two apes is worse than one, and she should help Tyraneus.
Looking at the map, she's actually supposed to be behind Brodey. She would never stand next to him with an army of oncoming apes :D
Seeing Kelsier hesitate, Lunaea yells Help Tyraneus! Free action, I think
She moves two steps to the right from behind Brodey, which should put her two steps to the left of Anara. Move action
She then throws a Slumber hex at the leftmost ape threatening Tyraneus, hoping to put it out of commission. Standard action
I hope the roaring of the Ape-King can't wake it up!

Well, it worked pretty well with the first ape, and Tyraneus got the other one pretty good, so Lunaea will try again with the ape threatening Brodey, hexing it with Slumber.
She sort of feels like a one-trick Witch at the moment, but hey, at least it's working...
The sooner we can get past these apes, the sooner we can help with whatever's going on over there!
| DM Kludde |
You can double move and be next to Tyraneus
Kelsier moves up with his guisarme, to threaten the shrieking monkey. The monkey next to Brodey seems to quite shaken - though lightning fast, the attacks of the creature fail to connect.
The monkey next to Anara is another thing, though, a solid smash of the club is followed up by a nasty bite, and Anara only barely manages to avoid a second blow of the club.
