Giovanni breaks out into a wide grin.
So direct! Why have I not encountered such women before??
"Cazduct, please, not in front of my associates! Hahaha! We... Explorers... Are very single minded... Let us finish the rest of this ship, first. You can stay safe in the back, with me, I shall protect you! Your fellow hunters may think you have defected, if they see you with us."
Turning to the rest of the group, he continues, "We should press on... Urgently!"
GM Aerondor
|
Cazduct shakes her head.
"No need to press on if you father my child now!" she insists.
The dawn seems to light in her eyes.
"Your friends do not need to watch if you like."
You might want to try another diplomacy check to get yourself out of this one...
Giovanni, the Lucky

Why is she looking at me like she's... *hungry*...?
"Ehh... Heh heh...", Giovanni clears his throat. "M'Lady, patience is..." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 16 + 2 = 22
Ha! That probably won't work, either =P.
Side note: this is how I'm envisioning the conversation turning...
Sir Godfrey
|
Sir Godfrey doesn't really know what to make out of this situation. He gives Riddywipple a slightly concerned look and takes a few steps away from what turn into a messy interaction between Giovanni and the Xill. "Perhaps we should wait for your consummation until after we finish exploring the ship and learning more about it? It might be rude for you to get to have someone father your children before the rest of the crew even meet us."

Will attempt to put a hand through the hull of the ship to see if it can pass through it without restriction after the Xill mentions go Ethereal.

Cazduct pouts a little. "But then you may father their children instead of mine" however the good natured bard and the efforts of Sir Geoffrey eventually win her over.
"I will remain here, waiting for you my Giovanni."
Before you send your shadow into the deck, a reminder of what this area looks like..
Looking forward (towards the 5 on the map) the team sees a strangely shaped cabin stretching forward, its dimensions being difficult to make out due to its alien features. Odd, man-sized cubicles seem to be stacked into the bulkheads themselves throughout the room, but whether sleeping berths, holding cells, or simply shelving is unclear. Their true purpose is further masked by the growths of ghostlike plant life that hang throughout the room. Like thick tendrils of ivy and great curling leaves, these colorless tangles and shoots mat the walls, twist upon the deck, and dangle in curtains from the overhead, eerily shifting in and out of phase as they protrude through solid surfaces and each other alike. It is as if sections of them are wholly present and other parts are mere ghost reflections of the strange plant life. The result is a wraithlike maze of otherworldly growths and tangles.
Logan Gallonica
|
Logan pats Cazduct reassuringly on the shoulder. Yes, you wait here my friend while we do some more exploration. We shouldn't be too long.
Before heading out he will tap himself with his wand of freedom of movement, just in case of more creatures that like to hug people to death!
Scanning the cabin he looks for any obvious exits or hidden panels amongst all the weird plant life.
Perception: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (6) + 23 = 29

Aside from the Xill, who seem to be naturally poisonous, there is no poison detected in the area.
Logan looks around, and eventually spots a secret door at the far end of the crew cabin area.
The Xill each carry a set of four short swords, but didn't seem to be using them when they attacked.
Round about now all your one minute/level spells will be running out

Look friends, it seems we have another route into the depths of the ship. Shall we explore?
Just before they set out Logan casts a few spells and activates a wand, vanishing from sight.

Looking through the secret door you see a simple compartment that ends where two angled walls come to a point. Lines engraved into the crystal along these walls give the chamber a sense of motion toward the terminus of the bulkheads.
Sir Geoffrey still may want to send his shadow downwards, but the ghostly plants seem to grow from that direction.
Sir Godfrey
|
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Sir Godfrey doesn't want to send his shadow actually through the floor or walls, he just wants to test if it is capable of passing through the weird material the ship is made from. He himself merely moves foward and peers into this new room, weapon in hand, and eyes the walls. "What do we make of this room? It appears to merely be a storage closet for evil to me. Shall we head down to the next floor?"
Logan Gallonica
|
Casting detect magic Logan will give the apparent closet of evil a quick once over.
Perception: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (7) + 23 = 30
Are there stairs heading further down/into the ship?
Giovanni, the Lucky

Seeing Logan create multiple duplicates of himself, Giovanni will do the same: Mirror Image: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
"Poison? Dastardly! Gents, I'm beginning to think that the fair lady Cazduct wanted more than just a one night stand! Ay dioses mio, I suppose I am just not ready to settle down and start a family..."
He'll cast Delay Poison on himself (8 hour duration).

Ragnar moves some arrows from quivers in his backpack to the efficient quivers.
"Sure, Let's do this."
GM Aerondor
|
Sir Geoffrey's shadow can indeed go through the substance of the ship.
Logan's checking for magic reveals an aura of conjuration within the small room.
There are no stairs evident to lead downwards.
As Gwynnis enters the small closet, she suddenly vanishes!
Sir Godfrey
|
Godfrey huffs slightly at the dramatic reactions and slings his sword over the shoulder not currently occupied by a Faerie dragon. "After you two, I'd rather not leave either of you here without someone to body block any threats." He waves his hands towards the evil closet and waits for Ragnar and Alvin to move.
He then starts muttering how he knew it was an evil storage closet and they shouldn't have gone into it. Now evil had them.
Godfrey will follow after the disappearing act once the rest of the party has moved.
GM Aerondor

The team one by one touches the portal and vanish...
Anyone ever played S1? Touching the black portal there makes to vanish too...
And appear one by one in a small room with a steep staircase leading up out of it.
Apart from the shadow... which has a hard time actually touching it...

"Fascinating. This teleportation device would be excellent if it were put to better use!"
Riddywipple
|
"I'd rather this device not leave this place.... It's kinda scaaaary!" The faerie dragon reluctantly touches the portal, looking at Uncle Godfrey first before shrugging and hoping he is close behind.
Once on the other side. "Oh yeah, thanks Logan for that super sweet spell! You're so nice!"
Logan Gallonica
|
Whispering though the message spell Logan says, You are welcome Riddy but perhaps a little quiet is in order, we know there are more dangers here than we have met so far.
Logan will check over the staircase to make sure it is safe, checking for any magic aura's on it as well.
Perception: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (13) + 23 = 36
Just a note, Logan doesn't have any actual damage on him, it just came off his temporary HP
GM Aerondor
|
Yeap, maybe I should put the temporary hp separately, do you want to add them as a buff in the buff sheet like the false life ones?
As before the whole area and ship is all highly magical. If anything it is even stronger here, but the whole ship is an amazing blend of magical energy.
Climb the stairs you come to another odd cabin.
This feels like the heart of the strange ship, and the pulse of its energy is almost palpable. The cabin is dominated by a cube composed entirely of brass that balances on one point atop a 3-foot crystal plinth, where it rotates slowly counterclockwise. Every inch of this cubiform monolith is covered in cramped script, symbols, schematic designs, and glyphs. Blue tracers of power flash across its surface every few seconds and are absorbed into these etched characters.
Logan Gallonica
|
Logan will carefully float towards this strange marvel, remaining invisible. His hands move gently around the thing as he peers closely at the script. Knowing few languages he digs around in his bag for a scroll of comprehend languages and quickly reads it.
Kn Arcana if relevant: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
In a whisper he mutters Alvin, get up here and see what you make of this. I can probably activate it but I would rather have a better idea what the thing might do first
It is on the buff list as sihedron brand, I have marked the current HP total
GM Aerondor
|
Logan thinks there are probably a vast variety of functions available here, but the only two he can work out are
1: Opening a door somewhere and
2: Releasing something.
To do the release will require an arcana check, to open the door will require an engineering check (or a wisdom one). You may not take ten, but others may assist using normal assist other rules.
Logan Gallonica
|
Logan will, for once, exercise a little prudence and give people a chance to chime in.
Alvin, I think this widget opens a door somewhere, maybe in here letting us explore the rest of the ship while this foozle here releases something, no idea what, could be the helm, could be whatever is keeping the ship on Golarion, could release deadly gas into the cabin here! Want to press it?
Sir Godfrey
|
Once the others have passed through the transportaton the paladin will follow, leaving his shadow behind as it fails to activate. Instead he'll direct it with his mental link to float outside the ship and prepare to move in with the advantage of being incorporeal should a fight start.
He stands aside for those with greater intelligence and knowledge to examine the device, one hand set on his hip as he frowns at the strange, blue flashes. "I think if you're planning to release deadly gas into the room, I'm going to go find a better place to stand until it's over. Can you not tell what it might release at all?'
Alvin~

Alvin pokes around, and manages (just) to activate the "open" command. A small door in the room springs open.
Ragnar "Handy" Sorvino

Ragnar is way out of his depth and is just following along admiring the pretty colors.
Logan Gallonica

Aha, I knew you could do it Alvin Logan whispers.
With a new way open Logan will press on, assuming the others will follow. He remains invisible as he floats cautiously down the steep staircase.

Riddywipple stays near Godfrey. He takes out a lollipop from his Handy Haversack and starts licking it nervously.
GM Aerondor

Logan creeps forward invisibly.
The narrow stairwell opens out into the ship’s main cargo hold, a massive split-level affair with the upper portion ten feet above accessed by a wide stair. The entire area looks like a giant botanical garden. A massive plant, milky-white and translucent, grows atop the upper hold area and curls about the entire chamber with a forest of fronds, tendrils, and clinging vines. The shapes of multi-armed humanoids can be seen moving about its thick growth of vines and tendrils that appear to grow into the very bulkheads. A number of strangely shaped flowers of deep violet bloom among this tangle, and at the top of the hold stairs, a great gnarled root crown stands like the trunk of a hoary old tree, a crease in its side opened wide like a dragon’s maw. Behind it stretches a winding taproot that disappears toward the bow of the ship, as large around as a wagon. Clearly discernible within this taproot are the huddled forms of unmoving humanoids.
There are several Xill in the room, but the tree provides concealment and makes judging their numbers hard. Movement within the chamber will also be difficult (all squares will count as difficult terrain for you.)
Logan Gallonica
|
Logan will quietly retreat back up the stairs and report what he saw to the group through the message spell.
Stealth: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (3) + 27 = 30
Best get ready for a fight people, it looks likes they have prisoners attached to their weird interdimensional plant thing. There's a sentence I never thought I would utter!
Just before we descend into the room Logan will drop a Haste spell on the group and activate fleeting glance to gain improved invisibility.
Is it difficult terrain for flyers as well?
Alvin~
|
"Very well."
Alvin casts Mirror Image on Riddywipple.
Mirror Image: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

"I suppose slaughtering her tribe is an effective way to dodge the marriage."
Bow is out. No other preparation needed. Unless we learned Xill have DR magic.
GM Aerondor
|
Yes, difficult terrain for fliers too, as the tree branches spread through the room, and here they are mostly solid.
Let me know how to want to progress, and in what order. I suggest rolling stealth checks in the order you go down, as at some stage the Xill are likely to become aware of you.
Logan Gallonica
|
We need to get those people out of there, lets go people!
Logan will happily take a spot near the front, if there is space he will be above the rest of the group to let them move about without being in the way.

Sir Godfrey

Sir Godfrey will channel the spirit of Sarenrae's divinity into his blade, which immediately catches fire, and then further bless the weapon to be particularly brutal against villiany. "It could invite the marriage, these things are clearly vile, it might become further infatuated at such an act."
With that said, he will march down the steps with abnormal subtlety for a man in full plate, disappearing without even truly trying to hide.
Divine Weapon Bond, Bless weapon he will cast. Then will move down into the plant filled hold stealth with Hide in Plain Sight to get as close to a target as possible before combat starts. Thus, up front as he can be.
