Shilyn turns around to go check the other door at Delgan's prompting when a bright light shines over her shoulder, bathing the room in brightness for just a second. Turning around, she sees the stars are gone and the vista is now gone. Her eyes fade to black for a moment and she shakes her head. "Now what'd ya do this time?" she asks with a raised eyebrow.

![]() |

"The stars were lost without you, Shi." Varian quips, trying to recover his equilibrium a little. He gives her a little wink, though it lacks his usual sparkle.
"I guess we should go on to the next door?"

![]() |

Mostly right; ability damage must be resolved. However, since you heal ability damage naturally over time, you can just as easily say that after the adventure, you rest and thus heal it up and 'resolve it'. There's only a couple of scenarios I can think of that may force you to not rest afterwards and get stuck keeping the ability damage for the next game.
After Shilyn's comment, the stars on the back wall reform in the same pattern.
Which door are you referring to? The other northern door to the east or the door opposite of the hallway the party is in?

![]() |

I was referring to the door near where I placed Deaglan.
"Varian, are you all right? It seems as if something is depressing you." Deaglan walks over to the aasimar and peers into his eyes.

Deaglan pulls Shilyn over to the other door against the northern part of the chamber. The elf does her typical inspection (T10 unless you wish to study it further), including putting her ear to the door to listen on the other side. And it's faint, but she hears the sound of something buzzing back and forth, like a bee moving from flower to flower to collect pollen.

![]() |

Shilyn keeps her rapier ready in her right hand as she steps to the side of the door. Reaching out with her left, she attempts to quietly push it open.

Heh, things may just get interesting quick!

Go ahead and look at my GM Dice spoiler.... v_v
Shilyn tries to carefully open the door and peek her head into the room, but the door groans with an ancient creek. Cursing to herself in her head, a low workbench that wraps around the walls. It is cut off by sectioning that separates into a strange laboratory. A curving workbench covered with gory heaps of flesh and bone sits against the laboratory's walls. Illuminating the room are strange contraptions resembling iron cages fitted with human-sized openings. Between them all, focused on the workbench, is a bizarre creature that looks part plant and part bug; 8 clawed legs protrude from its body, stiff wings supported by chitinous junctions all nestled into a fibrously looking body.
This entity is currently unaware of you Shilyn.
Anyone moving at this point will require a Stealth check. Same with communicating with anything other than hand signals, which will require a DC 5 Sense Motive to understand.

Varian readies an action to attack if the dust reveals a location of the creature.

![]() |

@Varian: You cannot delay since you've already acted for the round.
@Mylvwara: Both Orion and Deaglan will follow your command, waiting for you to throw the dust!
For this, I'll need you to make a ranged touch attack. This will provoke as a ranged attack, but you only need to hit AC 5 to aim at a square. If you wish to throw from 10' away (a non adjacent square) then it'll be a -4 penalty due to the dust not traveling well. Again, let me know what square you're going to throw dust from and what square you're aiming at and give me your attack roll!

5ft steps make sense, so I'll go for the square to the right of her last known location. Definitely not getting too close so -4 it is...

that statement about being ready was more fluff than actual action, since I'd already acted, as you say. Kinda being ready for his next action whenever that might come... btw, what are we waiting for?

ah.. that's right... I guess we're off for the weekend then, lol

Walking up in her ever-present, off-scene robe and bunny slippers and munching on a doughnut, Shilyn looks over at the others. "Yup, we have off. Guess I can get my hair and nails done before the next scene," she mumbles around a mouthful of her snack. "Hrm.. wait," she pauses a moment, tapping her powdered sugar covered lip, "if I do that now, I'll just have to spend another six hours in makeup and they'll ruin it anyway. Oh well, nice thought." Turning to walk off, she peers over her shoulder. "Grab a doughnut, we'll be a bit."

![]() |

Varian hops over to the craft table and grabs a couple of doughnuts and a cup of coffee... might as well have some caffeine with all that sugar and grease. "Mmmmfff.... verra gud...*swallows*... Don't worry about your hair and makeup... not like it's gonna make any improvement." He ducks the inevitable slap.

![]() |

Carefully side-stepping the doughnuts and coffee, Mylvwara sips her mineral water and adds some avocado to her salad (no dressing), Shi, you really should take more care over your complexion.

![]() |

Tossing the un-eaten half of her doughnut at Varian, she gives him a grin. "Hush you." and decides that BBQ ribs, potato salad, fresh corn, followed by a slab of apple pie with ice cream sounds a bit better as she hastily fills her plate.
