A series of glassy panels form a semicircular array along
the southern walls of this circular room. Some of the panels
are lit but blank, while others flicker with a jarring, blackand-
white dotted pattern. Many are cracked or simply dark.
A throne-like chair sits before a mechanical table in the
center of the room. A skeleton slumps in the chair, one
bony hand grasping a large lever. Its other hand, wearing a
strange, silvery glove, rests upon a glowing plate.
As the air rushes out of the pillar-room and into the room beyond, every experiences rapid decompression...
damage for everyone, no save: 1d6 ⇒ 3
After the initial rush of air, you still realise you can't breathe, but the initial damage won't repeat.
Rounds without air: 1
Chief Avarus
|
Avarus rushes into the room looking for exits and for anything that he can take away from this area that might be usable in another room.
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Velinov
|
percepion: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Velinov runs to the skeleton to grab the glove and put it on. He then attempts to push/interact with the glowing plate.
GM Aerondor
|
As the lever is pulled, air starts flooding back into the room. In a few seconds it thickens and a few more later you can breathe, if not easily.
Aside from the skeleton and the gauntlet, there is nothing obvious in the room.
When Velinov tries to to interact with the illusion, it flashes a couple of times and then vanishes.
Kaz can you make two diplomacy checks, one for each of Meleren and his friend...
Chief Avarus
|
"It is never what it seems."
Unable to find anything immediatly now given air Avarus looks at his situation and the party for options.
"So now what... looks like our initial test has become one to stay alive."
GM Aerondor
|
Aside from the goblin skeleton and the odd looking glove on it, there is nothing portable in the room.
Velinov

Just for my own clarity, we're currently in the central room above the "B1" label on the map?
Is there an entrance into the room where the air just rushed into?
GM Aerondor
|
You were in the hexagonal room above the B1. The small round roomwithin that is the "pillar" / lift that you went in. Presumably you are now above that hexagonal room - but one that doesn't appear on the map as such.
Luciano Greathouse
|
Luciano gasps. "Good thinking, Velinov." He removes the glove and puts it on his off hand. "These dead guys are wearing them for a reason." Luciano tries interacting with the projection with the gauntlet clad hand.
GM Aerondor
|
Nothing obivous happens, and apart from some small air vents (much too small for any of you) there are no exists other than the way you came in.
GM Aerondor
|
There is the other command room downstairs with the illusion of the room layout hovering above it...
Chief Avarus
|
"This is a dead end, bring the glove and let's see if it has a use back in the other room."
GM Aerondor
|
Moving things along
Everyone piles into the lift/pillar and returns to the command room below. The illusion hovering over the command desk remains there.
GM Aerondor
|
Llathander puts on the glove from upstairs and finds he can manipulate the illusion.
With a terrible grinding sound the metal wall blocking the way out of the bunk room vanishes.
Chief Avarus
|
"HOORAY! Lets head out."
GM Aerondor
|
The stairs still lead up - to a chamber very much like the one the group came through to begin with, however this time, one of the constructs is still moving.
Numerous alcoves are set along the walls of this round
chamber, but only a few are occupied by seemingly inactive
guardians. A wide archway to the south stands open.

Avarus provides his tactician ability to the group for 3 rds providing the group with HORDE CHARGE (if you charge during same round as ally +2 attack and +2 damage on top of standard charge capability +2 attack -2 AC)
Avarus rallies the troops before moving 20' into the room.

Any loose items on the construct?
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Kazamir runs in and attempts to disarm the construct.
CMB -> Disarm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
GM Aerondor
|
To keep things moving...
Kaz runs into the room and knocks an implement from the constructs hand area.
Suddenly the constructs face plate lights up, lights dance around the room, soo prettyy...
Okay, gaze attack time, Those in the room must make a DC16 will save or be facinated (take no action, can be broken by an ally taking a standard action to bring you round)
It gets worse, when within 30' you can also become facinated on your turn if you look at the construct. You have three choices: (a) stay more than 30' away (out of the room) (b) look away (you have a 50% chance of not needing to make a save, roll a d2 if you get a 1 no save is required) - but this will give you a 20% miss chance. (c) put on a blind folk of some sort. This will give you a 50% miss chance, but no need to save vs facinate

How big is this construct? Medium or large? I want to do something, but I need to know how far back is out of reach.
GM Aerondor

Construct is medium sized. Those of you making your will saves can post your actions....

Can I just close my eyes?
Kaz takes a swing with his longsword.
Longsword -> Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Longsword -> Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
GM Aerondor
|
@Lathander, did you include the extra to hit and damage from Chiefs charge bonus?
@Kaz, sure, but you will have a 50% miss chance. Roll a miss: 1d2 ⇒ 1 and if it is a 1 your attack auto misses. You may also run into difficulty if it changes square...
GM Aerondor
|
At the start of your turn. You don't get to strike and then look at the pretty lights, oh no...
Chief Avarus
|
will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Chief unaffected by the lights charges the construct with his greatsword.

gs dmg: 2d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5) + 4 + 2 = 14

Velinov

Is Rayna affected by the fascinate? She's out of the room currently. Not sure why she saved.
Velinov will dig through his pouch for a vial of dark paint to throw at the mechanical light show. Aiming for the face plate, he moves into the room and gives his best attempt at an overhand throw.
will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Assuming a ranged touch attack for a grenade like weapon?
GM Aerondor
|
Velinov throws a pot of paint at the robot...
Yes, ranged touch. If you hit it will take 1d4-1 rounds until it can use the gaze attack again. He has soft cover and is in melee, so the attack is at -8 effectively.
Rayna looks at hte lights, but at this range they are not effective against her.
Luciano moves into fight the creature, but at the last moment is entranced. it is only when you get up to striking at it that you need to make the save unless it is actively using the gaze, so I've moved you up closer to it.
The chief charges in, after overcoming the lights, but as he raises his greatsword, his gaze once again falls on the lights...
will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Pretty lights.
Llathander also overcomes the lights initially, and in the middle of what looks to be a good attack..1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Kaz takes the risk of shutting his eyes, and trying to strike by touch along. He misses.
I'll do the construct after final confirmation from Rayna and Velinov. Velinov, improved thrown weapons have a range increment of 10' so don't forget to move yourself to where you are aiming to throw from, and you'll need to make a DC16 will save (or try shutting your eyes as described above)

Rayna Mensbane
|
Rayna, seeing the colors and knowing something is up, but also seeing that her allies have the robot surrounded, will wait for an opportunity to run in with her eyes averted.
No point in running in if she can't do anything useful. :)
GM Aerondor
|
Rayna could run in and break the facination of one of the party members if she wanted to. As things stand at the moment, she is aware of what is happening and unless some get knocked out, she won't be able to contribute without missile file.
Velinov tries his innovative plan, however the press of bodies around the construct makes it hard to pull off, and the paint ends up soaking Luciano.
Just holding off to confirm Rayna is doing nothing, then the construct gets to have its fun.
Rayna Mensbane
|
Rayna will run in and try to shake Chief Avarus awake, averting her eyes.
Percent chance to look (1-50 fail): 1d100 ⇒ 16
Will save vs. lights: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
Unfortunately, she's fascinated. :(
Llathander Ausk

not sure if I need to make this again.
will: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Llathander adjusts his gaze so that he is only looking at the creature with his peripheal vision.
power attack
1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 - 1 = 131d10 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 3 = 7
GM Aerondor

Unless I request a will save in your stat block, you only have to make them if you attack while able to see the creature. So Rayna is not facinated, and the Chief is free!
Edits from above
The construct flashes lights, and then turns on Luiano, hitting him once and sending a wave of terror through him. The crusader easier shrugs it off, and launches a powerful strike in return. However it is not quite enough to get through the creatures defences.
Okay, you are all up bar Luciano. Llathander can act if someone snaps him out of it.
