Seeing no way to get to another acid vial from Kenza and nothing coming through the curtain; decides to go and peek in the box the spiders came out of just in case there is anything else in the box.

Just curious since I have to move and then take a standard action to draw the last acid vial from Kenza would I be able to pass it to someone else as a free/swift action though. Also, guessing there wasn't anything in the box other than the spider swarm.

Just clarifying that there are three vials left in her belt pouch if you try to reach in. Kenza used an alchemist's fire, and had three vials of acid in her pouch. Neerduwyl's going to take one, you can take one, and Kenza will use the third on her next turn.

Was asking since I would not be able to use this turn and was already assuming you and Neer would throw your two vials. However, I could reach in and withdraw the vial and maybe had to a third person to throw it if the handoff is a free/swift action.

Still learning a lot of the dynamics of combat/pathfinder.

Damn it Pinch be careful. Umm...think that was all Kenza's vials and the swarm is still alive. Think it might be time to retreat at this rate.

Shesh so over 10 damage probably closer to 15 damage and the swarm is still going. Starting to wonder if we are going to die to the swarm.

Graktul retreats back to the stairs and starts working his way through the fungus to reach the first level.

Guess I am not making it up the stairs course my actions would change is Kenza isn't out of acid vials/alchemist's flasks.

For pinch to throw a vial he would have had to take the one Graktul was holding, and sadly I really do not have anything to fight a swarm. Only my 2nd time seeing a swarm and last time was a wizard with burning hands along with some vials of acid. Still thoroughly confused how it is still alive after 3 acid vials and an alchemist's fire flask.

This is worse than the damn vegetable at least there was something to hit when we were fighting it.

Also, dunno if Gustavef would allow but one of my previous GMs allowed Ray of Frost to damage swarms. I think because it would go through in a line thus while the spell is single target against a bunch of little creatures in a tight bunch it would be AoE.

Pinch can't draw the third vial of acid because Graktul's holding it. He was passing it to Yu who was supposed to throw it, but Yu didn't and now he's run away? Can you throw it Yu? Or at least leave it in Graktul's hands?

@ GM: You wrote the swarm is breaking up, but it kept attacking? Does it look nearly ready to disperse?

The situation getting dire, and not sure what her companions have left to fight off the swarm, Ne'erduwyl shrieks, "I HATE spiders!" and flees towards the stairwell, drawing and lighting a torch as she does so (dropping a few on the floor for her companions to grab in the process), hoping the torches will keep the spiders away and that she can swipe at them if they come close to her.

"Does anyone have a rope to help the rest of us up the stairs? They're %&#& slippery."

From the other room an otherworldly scream? is heard/felt. The ululating shriek viscerally affects each of you. It also causes the spiders to scatter.

Silence fall over the whole room. The background whispering that has been heard is even gone. Nothing is heard at all.

As the unworldly scream shakes his bones, he looks back toward the door. "We are too late."

Shaking off the weird feeling and with a sense of urgency, "We must hurry." Noticing the spiders are dispersed, Dark rushes toward the other end of the chamber and throws open the way to the other room.

At the end of this adventure, I'm going to buy a Wand of Burning Hands. :(

Graktul stops in his tracks upon hearing the scream trying regain his composure after almost dying to a spider swarm and now having an open portal in the other room. Though his eyes are wide and visibly shaken he turns back towards the curtain tightly gripping his shield and Morningstar before making his way slowly towards the curtain allowing his companions to get into some semblance of formation.

As the terrifying scream tears through the room Kenza feels a shiver slide down her spine.

It doesn't matter. Keep moving!

Suppressing the shaking of her hands, Kenza looks around to see the swarm has dispersed. She quickly lights her torch, then stalks over to Yu, taking back her acid before he runs off with it.

Chasing him up the stairs with acrobatics if she has to.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 2 = 18

Once she's got her acid back she hurries off after Dark, charging into the room behind the curtain.

Nauseated from the spiders is one round. The poison only lasts for one round as well those that got bit.

After realizing that all thoughts of a quiet entry are done, you take your time to prepare and then pull back the curtain.

The walls and ceiling of this chamber bulge outward, continuing the grotesque architectural style of the antechamber, as if you were standing in the leviathan’s stomach. Queer, glowing nodules protrude from the walls at seemingly random intervals, bathing the room in their sickly green glow. A tall, free-standing, almost organic-looking archway carved from a strange, glowing blue-green stone stands atop a low dais in a wide alcove at the far end of the chamber. The center of the arch is empty, revealing the wall behind it, but the space occasionally flickers with curtains of starry darkness, as if somewhere else lies just beyond the portal. A susurrus of ghostly whispers seem to issue from the gate, their language and meaning unclear, but fraught with a sense of wrongness.

The queer architectural style continues into this oddly shaped chamber, with bulbous walls and a vaulted ceiling that soars to 30 feet in height. Weird glowing nodules along the walls illuminate the room with a sickly green radiance. A wide alcove in the northern wall holds a dais on which stands the Gate of Beyond, a 15-foot-tall archway carved from a strange, glowing blue-green stone called Abysium. This room is the sanctum of the aberrant sorcerer Imrizade Blakros. A strange metal cylinder is attached to the Gate at the apex of the arch.

Imrizade Blakros stands on the dais before the arch, connected to the Gate of Beyond by five disgusting, fleshy, fungoid umbilicals attached to her hips, shoulders, and the base of her skull. She is half-Osirian, with long, dark hair and light brown skin, wearing a weathered explorer’s outfit.

Ooh! Since we have time to heal, Kenza pulls out a potion of cure light wounds and drinks it.

Upon entering the strange room, Kenza feels another shiver run down her spine. This place is wrong...

Quickly, she smothers the ominous feelings. Locking them away to focus on the job before her.

Hearing everyone yell about the spell caster, Kenza circles around the person in her way Zombie? Man?, being sure to stay out of its reach, and rushes at the woman at the far end of the room.

Double move to get beside Imrizade. She has enough movement to go around the zombie and Imrizade, and provokes no attacks of opportunity from her movement. I put thin lines on the map to show her movement for clarity.

That being said, Dark steps into the room and then unleashes a Disrupt Undead ray at the zombie.

Drinks a Potion of CLWs before moving into the room and attacking the zombie in a rage to attempt to overcome the unsettling scream earlier.

Potion CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 - 2 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Think I have done that math correctly since shaken doesnt impact damage rolls and getting a net 0 from shaken and rage. With a +3 strength since I lost 2 and a +1 BAB.

Also HP is 16 right now and AC of 17 due to rage.
