Was just waiting my turn.
That thing is a wight. It will suck out your life and soul turning you into one such as itself. Destroy it quickly. The others are zombies. Not so much of a threat. In this local, they probably all are unharmed by cold. Shaeylen again!

You can save your channel Malaika
A few zombies are not a proper opponent for a group of experienced pathfinders and quickly fall dead again.
You can heal as you wish before going up
You climb up the ladder to the deck of the ship. The soft glow of sunlight again penetrates into this ice cave, and several braziers burn near the walls. A beautiful woman stands next to a simple chair, facing you. Other furniture in the chamber suggests that this is her private quarters. The woman looks you over as though judging a draft animal, and asks, Have you come to work the oars? I am in need of more rowers.

Malaika would use the channel to heal allies (Ghaenk and Pratts), it is what he does well. So everyone will get 7 points of healing.
Ghaenk, I am afraid the power of my faith is not yet sufficient to restore all of that which the creature took from you. However, I assure you that you will recover with rest. And I will be happy to take care of your other wounds so you may save your wand.

On next level
I would like to find out if this creature is undead, but I don't wish to initiate a conflict if it can be avoided. Probably better just try talking first.
Nay lady. As I'm sure you can see, I am ill suited to the task of rowing. Besides a ship stuck in chunk of ice really has no need of rowers now does it?
In fact we have come to determine the source of affliction to an associate of ours. His demise is likely if it does not cease, so we have come to effect said cessation. Is it possible that you could assist us in this task?
diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Th woman seems pleased by the way you talk to her, asking her favors and giving her the proper treatment. SSo she decides to answer your questions:
I can take warm of a man yes, freezing him or burning him to death. After that he has no warm anymore She answers to Rika extrange question.
And about your solicitude, I know how to reverse the curse of the Beacon of the North, but why should I do it?
Also, Who's been affected? I don't seee any signs of the Beacon powers on you.
You continue talking with her, explaining a little of who's your associate and how you had ended in her ship, then she offers you a proposal:
You´ll give me my lantern back, then you´ll take Skelg here so he can come back to Irrisen with me. I´ll not go back as a widow.
Can you fulfill my request?
She wants those three things, the latern, companionship and go back to Irrisen. If you want to offer less, you have to convince her (you have already rolled diplomacy, so just tell me and I'll let you know what happens)
Malaika de'Morcaine
|
Unfortunately, there is no one here to perform proper introductions. Peforce we shall have to introduce ourselves. I am Malaika of House de'Morcaine from Taldor. How should I address you Lady?
You are of course free toleave for Irrisen. However, Skelg is not ours to give you. Those to whom we answer may be willing to part with the Lantern if they at least had more information on it's powers and history. Would you share that with us?
.
I am certainly not taking over the group. Malaika would be willing to bargain away the Lantern. I don't know if the rest of you are. If someone else should start a fight and take away that opportunity... Well these things sometimes happen.
| Oykiv |
I'll delay the bargain until at least half of you agree. But until then lest answers some questions
I'm Natalya Yagevna widow of Haldyr Bjornsson and owner of the ship you're in.
The Latern is known as the Beacon of the North, is a powerful artifact crafeted by the ice witches of Irrisen. It has the power of control the weather, freeze one man to his death and sail a ship without crew, but only the ones who have the power of the winter in their veins, like me, can fully control and understand it.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Rika grunts, unconvinced. "Why need man? Or why need stay in painting?"
| Oykiv |
Who do you propose to start a family without a proper man? Answers Natalya to Rika, And what are you talking abaut? Stay in a painting? What painting and how are anyone to stay in it?
As nobody as opposed to Malaika's plan I'll go ahead with it
I can see your point about Skelg, but you're making a mistake. He would had find a powerful wife in my and together we could reach glory in Irrisen, but I'll acept to come back as a widow in exchange for the Latern.
To cure Skelg we need to close the portal the Latern had opened into it. It's an easy task but it will close also the portal you used to come here, so you'll need to cross it again unless you want to come with me to Irrisen.[/b]
Needing to give the Latenr before curing Skelg doen't sounds very good to you, but Natalya allows you to cross the portal and talk to Skelg so he can talk in her favour. Skelg knows her and remembers he save her from the death in Haldir's funerary ship. So you make the agreemant with Natalya and go back with Skelg.
As the portal fades you can see how Skelg recovers a normal skin tone and he says to not feel more cold inside him. Malaika uses his healing abilities to recognize Skelg and see he had stopped freezing, albeit he's still exhausted and ill from hypothermia. Now is just a matter of time he can recover.
There's not much else to do, just inform Adril Hestram and let Ghaenk decide how he's going to deal with his negative level (pay for a restoration or risk a fortitude save)
Rika Fumeyo-no-Oni
|
Well I was going to suggest that she should just come out of the painting and live in the real world with Skelg if she really wants a husband, and check with Skelg to see if he doesn't mind having a new wife. Of course, this is assuming we could convince her she is in a painting. But oh well. Does Ghaenk need assistance paying for a restoration?
Nightfiend Silverbane
|
I don't believe lesser will do....I think it is restoration within 24 hours that is required to avoid the save. If the save fails, the level loss becomes permanent.
Rika Fumeyo-no-Oni
|
Permanent as in, you'll spend 1000 gp worth of diamond dust on it. Rika is willing to help the funny speaking man get rid of his problem. It's only 100 gp worth of diamond dust on top of the cost of the spell, which makes it worth it since it's still temporary.
Rika Fumeyo-no-Oni
|
You can spend PP for this, and the GM is under no obligation to tell you the DC of the save before you make it. Good and bad news I guess?
Ghaenk
|
Well... worse case, I have to play him I'll just need one more xp, to regain this level after this scenario if I fail the save... and I would end up ahead on the wealth per level. Also, while I appreciate the offers to assist me in buying the spell, I wouldn't accept it. I enjoy playing this guy, and wouldn't be to distraught if I lose the level... so... drum roll
Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Hope that is good enough.. LOL.

You don't need to convince her, I have to convince YOU ttat she's not in a paiting, you just have used a portal to teleport from Skelg's manor to her ship.
That fort save is enought, but I must say I don't understand why you haven't used your charmed life on the check

Would have been an interesting twist if the exit side of the painting was another painting of Skelg's house. That way she could have pressed the issue that we are the ones who are living in a painting. )
| Oykiv |
The group goes to visit to Adril Hestram, who seems pleased to see Skelg will continue to be his sparring.
And you don't anly free him from the curse, but also of needing to marry a cold woman? Ha, you could even say he owes you one.
But don't say that to him.
Then his mood became more serious. But you still have to learn what be a Pathfinder means. You have an incredible artifact in your hands, and you give it easily.
I'm not going to admonize you about your mistake, because you serve me well. And because I'm sure there will be other officers who will search you to complain for it
Check it and tell me if there's something wrong.
