Sorry for the slow weekend. Valentine's got away from me. XD

Kargoroth strikes a blow while Rankle and Myras manage to trick the medusa into turning herself into stone! Unfortunately, it is not in time to save the brave elf, Galinndan, who also petrifies before your eyes. Odak strikes a hard blow as well but it has no effect!

Dam: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Dam: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2

The cloud washes over both Rankle and Kargoroth. Small, stony protrusions begin to erupt painfully from their skin!

2 dam each. Everyone, GO!

Once told this is the creature they came here for, Kar nods, grinding his teeth to endure the assault. When he finally finds an opening, he quickly gets the scroll and reads it, letting the remains drop while he watches what happens next.

If 19 is not enough, remember one of you guys could maybe spend Inspiration.

Man. If Myras had line of sight, then he could penalize Ogremoch's Bane's charisma save here. Guess it's just up to the dice, then.

Cha save: 1d20 ⇒ 17

The cloud refuses to be sent back to its plane but rumbles low in anger.

I'll let Kargoroth repeat the dismissal action from the spell as his action in future rounds. Not exactly RAW but makes this encounter more workable.

Technically, bards cannot use their feature to penalize saves, only skill checks, ability checks and attacks iirc. If you want to allow it, though, then we will all be very thankful and we'll send you some cheesecake xD On the repeating the action to banish the creature, should I check again next turn?

Good catch! I have misread the lore bard cutting words feature then. No we'll play it by the book. I'm just going to have the cloud keep repeating the save every turn. Bc otherwise he makes the save once and you have zero way to defeat him without getting another scroll or getting to high levels. I think that's a recipe for a bad/frustrating encounter so I'm fixing it.

Rankle swipes his dagger through the cloud but doesn't seem to have an effect on the cloud.
