Galinndan Siannodel |

Galinndan does not cease in his assault. He roars in undercommon:
"Come, slaves of the 'Deep Father'! I spit on your false idol!"
Let their piscine rage focus on me.
Short Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7

Galenus |

Galenus whispers to the tied up grey skinned dwarf as he undoes the knots, Now, run for it, we'll keep them distracted.
If I used my action to untie the dwarf last round, then this round I'll use my action to Help an ally. Otherwise my action is untying this poor soul and letting him escape.

caster4life |

Yay! We're back!
Galenus unties the Duergar who nods and says "Aye! Don't need to tell me twice!" He then starts dodging the crazed combatants on his way to the docks.
Next person who wants it can have advantage on their attack rolls thanks to Galenus. Should be someone he can get close to.

Cyrus Darkwater |

No Joke.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Off Hand: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 1) + 5 = 12
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Cyrus maintains the strategy of putting pointy metal bits into his enemies.

Kanzen Millithor |

Kanzen continues to press the offensive against the Deep Father adherent he has already wounded, his daggers flashing in a whirlwind of steel.
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Dmg: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Dmg: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
If that drops the one I'm engaged with, I'll move to the west (left) one square to engage the one diagonally adjacent to Galenus.

caster4life |

Whoa! Taking site outage anger out on the fishfoes, I see!
The prisoners cut down the captors around them while the fish folk attack each other. The cries of battle, however, are soon replaced with screams of horror. The kuo-toa in the water immediately stop fighting each other. Some are pulled under while others stab at unseen attackers. The shore-line waters of the Darklake foam red.
Party up. The kuo-toa one the shore are occupied! Those at least 10 ft from the water are still fighting. The Duergar ran to a dock but dark shapes are trying to reach him from the water.

Galinndan Siannodel |

Does that mean that the kuo-toa next to Galinndan is still fighting? Asking for a particularly eager wood elf ranger. ;)

caster4life |

Oh yeah! That's a mean-looking and angry kuo-toa who's been killing followers of the Sea Mother with his fins!

Galinndan Siannodel |

Duly noted!
Galinndan spins to his left, seeking to carve apart the murderous kuo-toa next to him.
Short Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Cyrus Darkwater |

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Cyrus continues his advance, failing miserably to connect this time.

Kanzen Millithor |

Kanzen moves up beside Eddrikk, his daggers aiming for the kuo-toa's eyes and throat.
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Dmg?: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Dmg!: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 = 6

Galenus |

I'm glad you're here, Eddrick, Galenus says. It's time to make you big.
Casting Enlarge Person on Eddrick. Adv on strength checks and saves, +1d4 damage. Large size.

caster4life |

Attack Gal: 3d20 ⇒ (16, 15, 14) = 45
Dam: 1d4 + 4d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + (6, 5, 2, 2) + 6 = 24
Monitor: 40/65 hp
The fishy fellow grunts in anger as some blows are landed on him and he lashes out with bite and fins, striking Galinndan three times as the elf had wounded him the most. His teeth sink into Galinndan’s arm while his fins shoot out, jabbing the elf in the gut twice. Each jab includes a jolt of electricity, worsening the pain.
Behind the group of prisoners fighting for their freedom, father and daughter clash, striking each other with their scepters and casting spells.
24 damage to Galinndan. Party up!

Galinndan Siannodel |

Galinndan yells in pain and then shouts as he keeps fighting:
"I could use aid!"
Short Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (4, 2) + 10 = 16

Kanzen Millithor |

Kanzen takes advantage of Eddrikk's distracting attacks on the kuo-toa, his daggers darting in at the presented openings.
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Dagger: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Dmg: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
If that kuo-toa happens to drop, I'll dart up next to Galinndan to try to help him out with the nasty one.

Galinndan Siannodel |

Cheers Idril, Galinndan was getting threatened by stray breezes. ;)

caster4life |

I'll assume Cyrus is moving over to attack the whip.

Cyrus strikes, landing one blow and missing another. Galinndan is struck down by the fins and bite of the kuo-toa (death saves) while Cyrus is struck with another fin (12 damage). Kanzen moves to help the friendly archpriest to defend his daughter. Together, they strike her deadly blows. She falls, spilling her blood on the altar. As she falls, she cries out to her god “Leemooggoogoon!”
Another sound rises above the burbling cries of the kuo-toa. The dark surface of the water farther out bubbles and begins to foam. A thick, oily tentacle bursts forth, followed by another. Then two monstrous heads break the surface, both resembling hideous, angry baboons with wickedly curved tusks. Both heads are attached to a single torso, and the monster’s red eyes burn with bloodlust and madness. The creature rising from the Darklake must stand thirty feet tall or more, with water cascading down its back and shoulders. Upon reaching its full height, the great demon throws back both its heads and roars!
The kuo-toa everywhere stop fighting each other or struggling against their attackers in the water. They stand still and chant "“Leemooggoogoon! Leemooggoogoon!” over and over, mindlessly getting pulled under by whatever is in the water or standing on the shore as the huge, demonic shape approaches.
It wades toward Sloobludop, heads roaring and gibbering, tentacles flailing and smashing the water. It soon comes within reach of the shoreline and lashes out, smashing docks and sending bodies flying with each sweep of its tentacles. Some kuo-toa recover their wits enough to flee, while others cower, paralyzed with fear. Sloopbludop is positioned up against a large cave wall so there are few places to hide. Some flee to the buildings. Others jump into the water and are attacked. Some take to boats, risking being smashed by the monstrous flailing tentacles.
What do you do? We're effectively still in combat but none of the kuo-toa are fighting.
You have gained one level of madness. For the next 6 minutes, you do whatever anyone tells you to do that isn't obviously self-destructive.[ooc]
[ooc]You have gained one level of madness. For the next 10 minutes, you are babbling and incapable of normal Speech or Spellcasting.

Galinndan Siannodel |

Galinndan drops, unconscious. Perhaps mercifully so, given the sight now upon those still alert.
Death Save: 1d20 ⇒ 6

Kanzen Millithor |

Kanzen looks over to see Galinndan fall to the evil-looking kuo-toa, then Cyrus get struck fiercely as well. He rushes over to try to assist his beleaguered companions.
Moving up beside Galinndan, laying on hands for 5 hp of healing.
As Galinndan opens his eyes Kanzen attempts to ask if he's alright - but all that comes out of his mouth is feverish gibberish.

Galenus |

Galenus looks on in horrific awe at the massive creature rising from the tides, trying to understand what he's seeing.
Some sort of intelligent check? Add another +2 if it's something I'd be proficient in.
Int?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

caster4life |

Religion check.
You have read of a form like this but it was far less horrifying in your imagination. This looks like demogorgon, self-styled prince of demons and a lord of destruction.

Galenus |

Leemooggoogoon? That ain't no f~@&ing Leemooggoogoon! That's Demogorgon! Run! Everybody run!! Galenus screams out, and takes words to action.

caster4life |

The town is a dead-end. The only way out is the lake. Swim or try to grab a boat.

Kanzen Millithor |

Yikes!

Galinndan Siannodel |

Galinndan staggers to his feet, barely having the presence of mind or time to nod thanks to Kanzen.
With the shouting and still feeling half-dead, he follows Eddrick's voice. If he sees someone stumbling, he will try to assist them, whatever his own condition.

Galenus |

Can we run to the other end of the town, away from the giant monster, and find a boat over there?

Galinndan Siannodel |

Galinndan looks around for a boat.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Perception, dis: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

caster4life |

Galenus, you could but Galinndan found a boat right here.
The wood elf points out a boat and you all clamber onto it. Sime of you begin paddling away but you seem the golden dragon man rushing about on the shore, healing the injured and helping them to their feet to run. In his quest to save those around him, he purposely ignores your calls to flee.
You've heard of Demogorgon, aka the Prince of Demons, before. He's very, very bad news.

Galinndan Siannodel |

Galinndan looks at the approaching monstrosity, and feels the pall of doom. He then looks towards the paladin, and then to the others, sorrow etching onto his face.
"Tiberius has made his choice. And we cannot fight that...thing. Let us leave now while we still can."

caster4life |

As the group flees on a boat, a huge tentacles comes crashing down, rocking the boat violently.
Dex saves: 6d20 ⇒ (9, 1, 3, 20, 16, 4) = 53
Dam: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 6) = 14
Eddrikk, Galinndan, and Kanzen are all thrown from the boat and attacked by the feeding-frenzied monsters in the water (4, 4, and 6 damage).
Someone needs to make a check to steer this boat (dex or str) while it'll take a DC 12 strength check (either by them or one of their friends who isn't steering) to get each person out of the water. Everyone go!

Kanzen Millithor |

Str check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Kanzen, his muscles fuelled by fear, hauls himself into the boat in one swift movement, the blood that's flowing from his wounds mixing with the water that covers him. He gabbles incomprehensibly as he exits the water.
Is that my whole turn, or do I have an action left?

Galinndan Siannodel |

@Idril, was that Galenus or Galinndan healed? Both are wounded.
Strength: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
Strength, dis: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
Despite his wounds and exhaustion, sheer stubbornness drives Galinndan on, and he powers himself up back onto the boat. He will turn and try to assist Eddrick out of the water.

Kanzen Millithor |

Kanzen, still babbling, sheathes his daggers and readies his bow to fire at any dangers that present themselves.
