Make a Knowledge: Planes check, please.
It looks like this...
Crang thinks it's a human.
The shanks are too long for dwarf or halfling, gnomes have colourful hair and elves have pointy-ears.
It might be an orc, but it can speak words of more than one syllable.
So, it's a human.

The Devil moves toward the barbarian, stopping just shy of the Captain's body and using his glaive's reach to slash at the goblin. His movement is impeded by the body and he misses, cursing the goblin as he does. Still, Crang feels the sudden whish of air and heat as the toothed glaive slips past his head!

Several strange things happen at once. Onboard the Chelish ship, the last lifeboat launches and the crew, those who live and can move, abandon ship. The Chelish ship's mast gives a great groan and then snaps, falling to the deck below. Anyone on the Chelish Ship, make a Reflex Save for half damage, DC 15! Full damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7.
Splurg continues his valiant efforts to keep the Accursed's sails from burning. He's making progress in putting out the fires. Spots leaps at the Devil! 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 His claws scratch the Devil, but do little actual damage to him!
Greblak casts his scary face at the Devil, summoning his reserves of fright, but the Devil doesn't even seem to notice.
Ank-Hore, still on the Accursed and hidden back from the railing, casts Surge on the fiend! Oddly enough, the water rushes from over the side of the Chelish ship and passes right through the Devil without a single reaction from him...
Everyone make a Will Save, please. If you reach the DC, read the spoiler.
Blarg's bullet flies from atop the Accursed to strike the Devil straight between the eyes. Odd thing is, it just passes right through him, like he's not there. If you failed the Will Save above, make another, same DC. Read the spoiler above if you pass.
Crang turns around and lashes out with his axe, cutting deeply into the Devil, who snarls with rage. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Buz reloads, getting his gun ready for some devil-shootin' action!
The Devil throws his head back and howls, letting loose a strange string of syllables in a dark tongue. The air above his head boils with smoke as he seems to be casting some sort of terrible spell.
Whosi, sneaky as he is, strikes from the shadow! His sword slips through the Devil, as if it's not even there!

It's ghost! Everyone run for yer lives! Da Flyin' Cheliaxman iz upon us! He backs away, focusing his energies on saving the sails of the Accursed to make it ready to go away from the creature as fast as he can.

Splurg |

ROUND 6:
Splurg & Spots 16
Greblak 16
Ank-hore 14
Blarg 10
Crang 8
Buz 6
IMP 5
Whosi 0
As soon as the Goblins begin to realize the Devil is a fake, chaos returns to the ship. Splurg calls Spots back and continues safeguarding the sails, managing to save about 2/3 of the main sail.
Greblak blasts a ray of fire at the Devil, who suddenly ceases to move, freezing in place. The ray of fire, however does start the decking on fire, and begins to spread faster than it should, probably due to the well-oiled deck.
Blarg rushes to the railing to see the piggie in question, just as the piggie in question bursts out onto the Chelish ship's deck.
Crang dodges most of the falling mast and gets to the railing. He hauls the Asmodean Captain's body up and over the railing onto the Accursed.
Buz, seeing the Ill-Fated Face of the legendary Ghost Ship, the Flying Chelaxian, feels a sense of dread race to his feet and redoubles his efforts to save the sail!
From forth the cabin of the Chelaxian ship flies a small red-skinned, bat-winged devil, approximately the size of a large house cat. He squeals in a high-pitched voice, holding a poppet made of red wood. He stamps his feet and flings his arms around, making the frightening Devil-ghost do the same thing. "You STUPID LITTLE FREAKS! You ruin EVERYTHING! Screwtape have plans! Screwtape have idea! Screwtape have willing co-conspirator in CAPTAIN! You STUPID LITTLE FREAKS KILL CONSPIRATOR! STUPID! Now I make you PAY! I WILL HAVE VENGEANCE!" With this, the little imp disappears and the Devil-ghost does as well, leaving behind a burning Chelaxian ship beyond repair and the Accursed, which is looking somewhat singed with a burnt sail and scorch marks all across her bow.
We're out of initiative now. The Chelaxian ship has about five minutes before it goes down. You're welcome to salvage what you can. Each Perception check can search a deck or the Captain's cabin, but takes 3 minutes to perform thoroughly. You each only really have time to search one area and get whatever you find off the ship before it goes down. Your areas available to search are:
1. Captain's Cabin
2. Crew Quarters
3. Hold
4. Locked Room (DC 20 Disable Device to pick this lock)
5. Bilge
6. Sail Locker
7. Galley
8. Wander blindly about and hope something looks tasty and/or expensive
Go!

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

Blarg hits the galley with excellent results, finding a small cask of pickles and two full rounds of cheese, plus a silver dagger that is entirely too nice to be used for cheese cutting.
Greblak, searching for the hold, finds a small wooden platform projecting off the side of the ship. He pokes his head through, only to find himself stuck. Flailing wildly, he dislodges the plank and tumbles headfirst into the sea below. He eventually floats near enough the Accursed to grab hold of the side of it and climb back aboard, now sporting a strangely toilet-seat shaped piece of wood as a collar.
Buz puts the fear of Buz into his erstwhile crew, who head off to haul back a wounded but still living Chelish crewmen back aboard the Accursed. Heading into the hold, he finds several crates of fine silks and cured sides of pork. However, bumping into a barrel, he knocks it over to reveal a false bottom. In the bottom of the barrel is a fine wooden case emblazened with a noble seal. The case is locked and the groaning of the ship persuades Buz to open it later.
Crang ransacks the Captain's Cabin, discovering several books. These he tastes, then tosses into the fire, for as you know, writing can capture a goblin's soul. However, pulling several volumes down, he discovers a hidden alcove behind the bookcase. Within he pulls out a wand made of bleached bone, a flask of something bright orange and a necklace made of a shark's enormous tooth.
Splurg and Spot head to the crew quarters after directing Gutbucket to the galley. Gutbucket comes upon Blarg and helps him roll two additional wheels of cheese as well as another barrel of pickles from the galley before the hull cracks and water rushes into the ship. Splurg and Spot sniff around the crew quarters, finding a total of 23 gold pieces, 41 silver and 102 copper. They also find a very old looking bottle of wine and a pair of bracers. They gather these up along with several shirts and torn pairs of trousers and head back to the Accursed.
Whosi heads to the hold and discovers the locked door, but the lock is rusted from the salt air and he cannot budge it. He directs a trio of passing goblins to grab the sail from the sail room. It is only once he's upon the Accursed that he discovers not a sail, but a mattress. Clearly the goblins got a bit confused and raided the Captain's bed.
All the goblins manage to scramble back onboard the Accursed just as the Chelish ship gives a last groan and cracks in two, disappearing quickly beneath the waves. The last of the fire on the Accursed is put out and the resulting holes in the sails reveals the remaining pteranodon, still perched atop the crow's nest, watching the proceedings below nervously. On the bright side, your ship is still a-float. On the other hand, your sail is in tatters, you have a dangerous reptile residing in your crow's nest and your catapult is clearly beyond repair now. But you do have an unconscious sailor to interrogate and loot to identify...

Greblak |

Greblak climbs aboard the Accursed, spluttering as he does so. After prying the wood off himself, he notices the birdlizardthing in the rigging and points More food! Kill it!
He chucks a dart at the food, hoping to lead by example.

damage 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Minimum 1

Buz Halfboot |

Buz takes the wooden case and as much pork as he could fit in his pockets. On the Accursed, he adresses his crew while distributing the pork around: Yarrr, we done mates! We be true pirates! Now, feast on cheese and pigmeat! After the (hopefully short and uneventful) festivities, he takes all the time he needs to order his crew to store what's left of the food somewhere, lock the longshank into a cabin and set to repair the main sail. Oh, and do something about that danged pteranodon.
Then, he inspects the case. If it's locked, he will bring it to Whosi: Sneaky Captain, pleaz open da case.

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

Splurg assembles the items and Whosi, being sneaky captain, manages to unlock the cases.
+1 Silver Dagger (Blarg)
Embellished wooden case containing a single +1 pistol, with the barrel carved to resemble a dragon's head (Buz)
Wand of Cure Light Wounds (12 charges remaining) (Crang)
Potion of Invisibility (Crang)
Necklace of Natural Armor +1 (Crang)
Bracers of Armor +2 (Splurg)
Despite Greblak's aim, the pteranodon is too far away and the dart hits the mast, sticking in. The giant lizard seems to ignore the goblin life below and doesn't move. It seems pretty intent on whatever is in that crow's nest.
The captured human is locked into a cabin and the main sail is inspected. It's tattered, burnt away in places and doesn't look like it's good for much. Which quickly becomes moot, for as the day goes on, there is no wind. All movement of the Accursed has stopped. The seas are still and you're going nowhere. Fast.

Is Crang holding an old stick under the corpses head and willing it to burn?

Buz Halfboot |

Buz grins in satisfaction at the sight of his new toy. He swoops the pistol, eager to try it, but remembers that ammo doesn't come cheap and decides to wait for the right opportunity. He then does the following:
- order the crews to repair the main sale with whatever it's at hand (taking 20 to the Profession, Sailor check).
- get some food.
- gather the other captains to decide what should be done with all the loot and with the human prisoner.

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

Buz sets the massed goblin crew, now slightly smaller due to the loss of 7 goblins during the ship battle, to repairing the main sail. As there doesn't seem to be any sail cloth on board, clothes and bed sheets are raided...
Meanwhile, a gathering of Captains is called on the deck. Cheese and pickles flow freely as the discussion begins...
