How wide is is? Could I vault over it to clear the distance faster?

Jumping w/ pole vault assist: 1d100 ⇒ 44

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

Sure, but the only hostile is a dome of water.
Unless you plan to pole vault right through the water?

Health 70/120, Karma 70 Chart

Right. Nevermind.

"Link, I'm running out of ideas here. You got anything on Hydroman that might be useful?" Stan says into his earpeice while looking at the dome of water and bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet.

Omni-Knowledge: 1d100 ⇒ 74 yellow

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

Sorry guys, I was out of town for a few days.

Link report:

Spoiler:
Electricity is his major weak point. Heat or cold may have an effect as well. The fact he's connected to a body of water makes him difficult to beat. Whoever hired him probably planned his position to take advantage of that fact.

Hydro-man: Dammit, Gargan, can't you do anything right? I'm outta here. The water dome collapses!

Everybody under the dome make an Endurance FEAT as the waters attempt to wash you away!

using Karma to boost it from a 37 to a 47 for a Green and than if i can, grabbing hold of Scorpion so he doesn't drown

Oddball, you manage to dive for Scorpion and keep his head above water. However, it comes at the price of crashing violently against the rubble of the ruins of the castle. Take Good(10) damage.

Wolf, you manage a truly spectacular move and manage to avoid any damage. You are currently floating in the middle of the now normal level turtle pond.

The waters settle, sending ripples in all directions. Hydro-man is gone, but you did manage to capture one of the bad guys. What could possibly be the reason behind this random act of destruction?

Okay, we are out of initiative. Everybody gets their recovery rank in health (equal to your Endurance rank) back. Everybody gets 50 points of karma for beating Scorpion. Sadly, the other two got away.

Everybody gets +2 popularity. Those who actually rescued civilians get an additional +2 popularity.

Tell me what your character wants to do in the next 10 minutes or so.

Female Altered Human Sheet

Whippoorwill pulls herself to her feet and coughs a few times. She looks around warily, and notes that active hostilities have stopped. Her wings flare out and shake a few times, sending a light spray of droplets refracting in the sun. She keeps them partially open and steps into the full sunlight. She pulls her hair back and gives it a squeeze, wringing out the excess water.

She looks at the limp form of the Scorpion, and then glances around for the other vandals. Then she eyes the other heroes who had shown up. Umm, hi. It's my first time in New York, so, I suppose introductions? I'm Whippoorwill.

Female Altered Human health- 120 Karma- 20

She gets up after taking a look at Scorpion and smiles as she gives a slight wave and stands there.' I'm Oddball nice to meet you" she says with a slight smile as she than looks about the place for any of her balls.

Intuition 1d100 ⇒ 68 GREEN this is to spot and retrieve my balls that i already haven't retrieved which is two

Stan curses and looks into one of the floating cameras near him with a frustrated and apologetic expression on his face.

"Too late now, Link. He's gone. Got Scorpion though. I'm going to assume you already called this in and have a containment team on their way? No way he's going into a normal squad car." he said into his earpiece while he snapped both his pairs of handcuffs around the green-armored villain's wrists. "And if he wakes up I doubt those will hold him long."

Looking over to the group of enthusiastic costumed heroes, Stan waved them all over.

"Good job folks. The job's not quite done yet though. I'm Special Agent Service. I could use a little more help. I need two people to keep watch over the Scorpion until the containment team arrives, and I need a couple people to help me go through the wreckage of that structure for more victims. Oh, and I'll need someone who's good with people to talk to the press. They're going to be all over this place in about 45 seconds. You can talk about who you are, and your version of what happened here, but if they ask for any kind of official statement, tell them I said they'd have to wait for it. Keep an eye out for anyone acting irrationally or doing anything dangerous. People who can't find their loved ones can do stupid things sometimes. Oh, and if anyone comes and asks what they can do to help, send them to me."

Female Altered Human Sheet

Whippoorwill looks warily at the agent. A lot sure had happened after she'd been knocked out, including the arrival of additional heroes. Not that she wasn't grateful.

This guy giving out orders seemed to be used to being in charge. His tech seemed like he had the backing of someone official, as well. Oddball, not so much.

I'll take to the air. See if I can't spot anyone from above, she offers, balking at the idea of talking with the press.

She nods to the others, giving a polite smile. Then she turns to face the light breeze and takes several powerful beats with her wings, bearing her aloft. She banks, and circles low above the wreckage searching.

Intuition: 1d100 ⇒ 70 Green (and just shy of a yellow! If I get a bonus shift because of my aerial vantage, that'll be a yellow.)

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

Sounds good. Once I hear from Wolf, we will continue.

Wolf shakes like a dog, literally; flinging water everywhere. He looks to the others, the villain and the destruction. "Didn't think it was that bad but man...."

He nods to the others "I go by Wolf and glad to help."

Wolf quirks a brow at Stan about mentioning victims "I think I got the last of them but I guess you can never be too sure.."

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

Okay, you guys successfully secure the scene and canvas for more civilians in distress. Fortunately, Wolf and Whippoorwill did an excellent job, and the EMS professionals handled the rest. NYPD manages to keep the media off your backs (although they are taking lots of pictures and shouting questions at you), but you may engage them if you wish.

Blacklight creates a coffin like structure that surrounds all of Scorpion except his head and shoulders. Soon thereafter, the villain wakes up.

DM NOTE: You guys have a few minutes to interrogate him before the Raft specialists show up to take him away. Decide on your approach and then ask your questions in character.

Health 70/120, Karma 70 Chart

"Mornin', Sunshine." Stan says conversationally as the Scorpion comes to.

"I'm going to cut right to the chase. If you cooperate right from the get-go, I'll put in a good word for you. Have you been to the Raft before? The quality of the holding cells varies a lot. Cooperative people get nicer accommodations."

"All I want to know is where your pals went and why you decided to trash the park."

Female Altered Human health- 120 Karma- 20

She looked at the reporters and the others and shook her head. She was nervous, he fathers suit was hideous, but would have to do for now. She picked up her balls, and than walked up beside the Special Agent and than looks down at Scorpion.

Female Altered Human Sheet

Whippoorwill banks, staying aloft through a bit more effort because of her recent soaking. She drifts on the winds, hoping to speed along the drying process. Of course, that gives more chances for the media and other gawkers to take pictures. So much for keeping a low profile.

Once satisfied that there are no more trapped in the rubble, she returns to the other heroes gathered around the prisoner. Has he said anything about why they were doing this?

Wolf moves over to the rest gathering at Scorpion. He gives a slight wave to another one taking a picture but refrains from talking.

Once with the others, he stays quiet for now.

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

Blacklight erects are privacy wall around you about six feet tall so you can talk to your prisoner without an audience.

Scorpion tenses, attempting to break through the black material (everybody make a Reason check to see if you can figure out what exactly it is).
1d100 ⇒ 11 WHITE.
He swears as he realizes he's not getting out.
Simple job. I was paid to cause a ruckus in the park. As far as Shocker and Hydro-man are concerned, they can go to hell for ditching me. Extraction was always gonna be through the reservoir. Easy get away when your transportation is intelligent water.
He then grins and spits some blood in your direction.
You want more, Fed, I wanna see it in writing. Or else, I want a lawyer.

Stan put his hand to his ear. "Link, I need an analysis of the reservoir system. Hydroman could be anywhere, but Shocker will only be able to get out at access points large enough for a human. Call Public Works and get a hold of the folks in charge of monitoring water pressure. We need a report of any sequential pressure spikes. Shocker probably won't be able to hold his breath longer than a few minutes at a time, so rule out any pipes that aren't big enough to hold a person and don't have points where someone could periodically get some air. Lets get a breakdown of potential exits. Send the report to local police, the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four. Maybe some of them will have time to help us look into this."

Turning back to Scorpion, Stan leaned over and stared into his face. "You have been caught by a federal agent in an act of domestic terrorism. Are you familiar with the Patriot Act? Do you know what this country does with suspected terrorists these days? To make things worse, you are a Super-Criminal. There's a whole other set of rules for you folks that was written to deal with people like Magneto and Dr. Doom. If you think you're seeing a lawyer any time soon, you have another thing coming."

"Who hired you?"

Female Altered Human Sheet

Reason (Good): 1d100 ⇒ 60 Green

Whippoorwill steps back against the black wall, giving it a glance before turning her attention back to Scorpion. Her face is a mixture of emotions as the agent attempts to interrogate the prisoner.

Turning to Wolf and Oddball and the silent dark one, she says, Well, this was fun, but I should probably get going. Agent here's got it covered, looks like. And besides, I've got a lot of preening to do, or else my wings will smell like pond water.

"I'm afraid we'll need you to stick around for a little bit longer, miss. We will need a statement from you, and if our green friend gets loose, I'd really appreciate the help catching him again. You all did great work today."

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

What are the rest of you doing? Any questions or comments towards each other or Scorpion?

Link: On it.

Whippoorwill: you have heard of this stuff, but you've never encountered it up close before. It is some kind of extra-dimensional material called Darkforce.

Blacklight: Sorry, guys. Maintaining two constructs at once is . . . tough.,

Female Altered Human Sheet

Whippoorwill shifts her stance a few times and steps away from the darkforce wall. Well, all right, but I don't know a whole lot. They didn't banter much during the fight.

Female Altered Human health- 120 Karma- 20

" Hey Scorpion, Do you know were Shocker was gonna get dropped off at by Mr. Wet T-Shirt, I mean I saw how he looked at you, how both of them looked at you thinking you were some bumbling buffoon to taunt and tease, and than they leave you to take the whole wrap. My Family never did that when they were committing crimes they worked together and if one was locked up they worked hard to get them out. So why not help us out and show those a*& h#&#s who let you take the wrap get what they deserve... and i bet our good Special Agent here will get you some special treatment while on the Raft, What do you say Scorpion...let us bring in the jerks who thought they were better than you or take the full wrap and have them go scott free?" Oddball says as she runs her finger over his chest teasing him a bit, and smiling at him.

Any check i need to make here for him to believe me, or he needs to make. I hope he recognizes the costume

Reason EX 1d100 ⇒ 50 GReen

Listens to the others and comments to Whippoorwill "Let people see that you are a hero, will avoid confusion down the road"

He then quirks a brow at Oddball, wondering what she is doing.

Female Altered Human Sheet

Whippoorwill smiles at the Wolf, but there's a sadness there. I can't claim to be a hero. What I am is sore. And soggy. She rubs a spot on her side, as if she just reminded herself of the pummeling she received from all three of the bad guys.

Maybe we can meet up later, when I'm not smelling like turtle water. Say, Washington Square Park? Tomorrow at about this time?

When Wolf watches Oddball, she turns her attention to the brightly-colored hero and listens in. Frowning, she watches for Scorpion's response.

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

Scorpion psyche FEAT 1d100 ⇒ 62 GREEN!

Are you trying to compare me to the f&@#ing Death Throws? Who the hell did they ever fight? Hawkeye? Go back to the bench, rookie.

He turns to look at Whippoorwill, appraisingly. Hey, I know you. Yeah, we've got some friends of friends in common. I bet they'd love to know why you've working with Captain Boy Scout here.

Finally, he looks back to the Standard. In writing. Now. Or it's lawyer time.

LINK REPORT:

Spoiler:
You've got about two minutes, Standard. The Raft boys are almost there. You know NYC is the bluest of the blue in a pretty blue state, so if you're gonna do something, do it fast.

Female Altered Human Sheet

With eyes flashing and words dripping with venom, Whippoorwill leans forward. You. Do. NOT. Know. Me.

Health 70/120, Karma 70 Chart

The Standard looks around. "As of right now, all of you are Special Deputies to the US Martial's office, deputized for the purpose of responding to this event. Yes, it's retroactive. Sometimes it has to happen that way. We'll handle the paperwork later. I don't care who you used to be. You saved people and put your lives on the line to deal with all this. That's good enough for me. The police are going to arrive and act like you're the bad guys. Don't let them get to you. This park is a national historic landmark, so it's considered a joint task force area, and federal agents have jurisdiction in all terrorism related incidents."

The Standard looks down at the Scorpion and thinks for a moment. "What do you want?"

Wold nods to Whippoorwill "Very well, I can agree to that."

He watches the interaction with Scorpion.

Female Altered Human Sheet

Whippoorwill steps back and folds her arms, glowering at Scorpion. She doesn't remark on her being deputized, but she glances at the federal agent and meets his eyes. There's the barest of nods in agreement, but her eyes are full of a tentative hope that he might be speaking the truth. Her stance remains guarded, however.

Female Altered Human health- 120 Karma- 20

"Are you sure you want to deputize me, I mean I don't have the best background for being involved in any official government capacity, I mean Hank had to go through hoops to let me be his lab tech" she says as she looks at the others and than nods.

" But I will go along with this team thing, though hopefully we don't come up with some dumb name, Ooo and may be matching outfits?' she says gesturing to her outfit.

Health 70/120, Karma 70 Chart

"This isn't permanent. It's just to keep you from being detained by the police. Later, we can talk about what you want to do now that you've decided to put on the Cape. You shouldn't be punished for trying to help. They might try."

Female Altered Human Sheet

Whippoorwill smiles a tight, mirthless smile. 'Try' being the operative word. I have no intention of being detained by anybody.

Changing the subject, she looks over to Scorpion. You going to give him what he wants to keep him talking?

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

Scorpion smiles: Full pardon. And then I'll start singing. This ain't my first rodeo, either, so don't try to snow me.

There's a knock on the shelter.

Blacklight: Uh, you wait me to let them in?

Stan laughs in the Scorpion's face. "Enjoy your trip to the Raft."

"Let them in. Let's get this joker out of here."

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

The Raft Corrections Officers take Scorpion into custody. As tough as he is, he's not breaking osmium alloy shackles. While the Standard deals with the necessary paperwork, what are the rest of you doing? Reporters are calling out to you, asking who you are, what you call yourself, etc. Your pictures are being taken and you're being videotaped by several cable news operations.

Wolf decides to head to the a reporter that doesn't look like is from a major media corp. He waves for the reporter as he get closer.

Female Altered Human Sheet

As the Darkforce wall drops, Whippoorwill becomes painfully camera-shy. She pulls her damp hair over her face as she checks to make sure her domino mask remains in place. Even her wings fan out and block the cameras and keep them from getting a good look.

Are we getting out of here? She asks the others, clearly uncomfortable with the media attention.

Health 70/120, Karma 70 Chart

Stan was in a hurry. Once the custody transfer was complete, he asked Link for an update. "Anything on that water system analysis yet?"

Jogging back to the group he said "That's it. At some point in the next 48 hours, each of you needs to come give a statement to an investigator." He handed out business cards. "Just call this number to arrange to have someone from our metahuman division meet up with you, or just walk into a field office if you feel comfortable with that. Also, here's my number, in case you need to get a hold of me for anything."

"I'm going to keep trying to find Shocker and Hydroman. Any of you that want to help, I'd appreciate it. I'm waiting on a lead right now."

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

Blacklight: I'd like to see where this ends up going, so I'll check in tomorrow. But talking to the press ain't gonna happen. Later.

With that, he takes off veering west and out of the park.

Wolf, a younger female reporter flags you down, Leila Taylor, Daily Bugle. Who are you and what happened here?

LINK REPORT:

Spoiler:
Stan, I think we're screwed. There are at least 34 places they could come out. I'm coordinating with local authorities and SHIELD, but we're not going to be able to cover them all. To make matters worse, they found a SCUBA tank stashed under the grate, so odds are Shocker's not holding his breath. This was well-planned. By the way, they want you over at the evidence vault I mentioned ASAP. You want me to pull some strings to get your little friends to tag along?

Oddball: What are you doing?

Female Altered Human Sheet

Whippoorwill gathers herself to take flight, but pauses when she sees the agent touch a hand to his ear. When it seems the feed of information as finished, she waits expectantly.

You got something?

Wolf heads to Leila "I go by Wolf Ms. Taylor. As for what happened here, a trio of villains started to attack and destroy the theater and other places here in the park. As for their purpose, I dont know that yet."

Stan sighed. "Yeah, Link. Do it."

Turning to where the others were speaking with the reporter, he interjected. "But we're going to find out."

"We may have a lead already. I'm headed back to lock-up to find out. Any of you that want to see this thorough, you're welcome to join me. The address is on the card I gave you. Get there as soon as you can."

Then he turned to go retrieve his bike.

Female Altered Human Sheet

Whippoorwill nods, and looks at the card. She watches the agent gun his bike and peel out with mixed emotions.

Seeing the other costumed vigilantes either work the press or leave the scene themselves, she takes a few steps before launching herself into the air with a few powerful beats of her wings. She catches the wind and glides over the treetops until she spots the Bethesda Fountain just southwest of the battle. Mostly deserted because of the spectacle near the Turtle Pond, Whippoorwill takes the opportunity to dive beneath the cascading waters of the fountain.

Though the water is ice-cold, she takes a few moments to let the water run through her hair and along her wings. She shivers a bit and then takes off again, spraying water as her wings beat hard in the spring air. She rises high above Central Park, circling several times to let the brisk air dry her off before she catches the prevailing winds which send her streaking across lower Manhattan.

Wolf looks to Stan when he interjects "Well Ms. Taylor; that all for now. Have a nice day."

He watches Whippoorwill take off and Stan taking to his bike. Guess I will have to hoof it

Male Human Dungeon Master 20/Player 12/Educator 10/Writer 5

Ms. Taylor hands you her card.I'd love an in depth interview . . . Wolf. Call me. Anytime. She smiles at you, holds you gaze for a few seconds, and then walks away.

Still waiting on Oddball. Once we hear from her we'll move on.

Female Altered Human health- 120 Karma- 20

Oddball taps Wolf on the shoulder gives him a glare and than looks at the others.

"Hoped you like a good ogling by the reporters because the others are already on there way to the get Shocker, lets go"She says a little irritated and the than offers you a piggy back ride

"Hop on we might get there faster"she says as she readies her self to leap.

Wolf pockets the card and nods to Leila.

He turns to Oddball "Sorry Oddball, figured to let someone know what happened from one of us." He grabs on securely, trying not to get too touchy "Thank you for the offer"
