Elise of the Red Hill |

I'm going to assume the first few squares next to the shore is shallow enough to wade into, thus being merely difficult terrain. Is that ok =)?
edit2: Was thing of stepping into the square southwest of my current position instead, but I'm afraid Cal will step on me ... :P
Elise grins at the prospect of battle - besides, she had never had the opportunity to smash extra-planar water elementals before. Never the one to hesitate to try out new things, she swiftly waded into the knee deep water and swinged her poleaxe. The water swirls and steams in her wake - and the axe strikes the guardian a glancing blow.
To hit: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 19
Damage: 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 3 = 11
Driven on by draconic fury, she taps into the power in her blood and delivers a fearsome backswing - intent on returning the guardian to a more inert, liquid state of being!
To hit: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 23
Damage: 1d20 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 3 = 30
Move action to close the distance, free to rage. Standard to swing and Mythic point to swing again. If the first one dies she can use the free moment from her Mythic chargethingy to close the distance to another :)
Edit: Yeah, I'm stupid. My weapon only deals d20s of damage in my dreams - halve the rolls for 11 & 20 damage :)

Amelia Lightfoot |
"So, we're kinda new to this death lake business. What's the best way to hurt that thing in the middle?" Amelia asks, hoping for guidance from gorilla and company.
As she does this, Amelia steps back and attacks! Beginning with the one Elise hurt.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9; Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9; Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24; Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Jeremiah Flynt |

Flynt, never one to put up with distractions, levels his gun on the closest elemental and opens fire.
Revolver (Deadly Aim, PBS): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Calathar the Golden |

Bellowing in celestial, Calthar strikes out at the nearest elemental and then strides forward into the water.
masterwork nodachi: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Not sure what the circles on the map are. If I can stand in those squares, I'll move Nx2. If not, NE - N. At huge size, I can occupy the same squares as a medium creature.
Adjusted AC is 15. Not sure if that's as good a trade-off for reach as I was thinking.

Alþórel |

spend 1 mythic point to cast stone rain (area in map). No save, No SR, normally area is difficult but given is water might not work. damage is 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
Alþórel grimaces, and calls upon memories from long ago. Memories when he was a mage of Earth, not Sound.

GM_Radiance |

The water is shallow enough to walk through as difficult terrain, the circles are the raised walkway that the spirit brought up earlier to let the Eldred walk across the water.
Elise moves into the water fuelled by draconic blood, making her two strikes connect she sends the first of the minions back into the water.
Amelia steps back and unleashes a flurry of knives though only one of them hits the target that attacked her. Damaging it a little. The goblin while being wound up to be through says. "A little bit of magic never hurt, like this!" The gorilla reels back and throws the goblin towards the centre of the lake, the goblin draws a dagger midflight and it lights up with some sort of magic. That magic looks innate to either the dagger or goblin as the goblin didn't cast anything. As soon as the impact happens from striking the creature in the centre the goblin flies back into the gorilla's hand.
Flynt draws his pistol and fires at the lake minion, further damaging it. The magic that is holding it is waning though it doesn't look out of the fight yet.
A hail of stones rains down on the far side of the lake, pelting the majority of the enemies with earth.
The lake spirit in the centre takes its arms and raises them into the air. A huge deluge of water is taken from the lake and slams into Amelia.
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 Amelia takes 2 damage for saving and no other adverse effect.
Amelia feels like she is being pinned to the ground under the pressure of the water but manages to stand before it crushes her.
Nethan still to post from before the Lake spirit, Dreyyn to post for end of Round 1

Nethan Ryon Akerman |

I apologize for my delay, a combination of network issues (no Internet), weather (stranded at home w/o Internet until fixed), computer upgrades/changes (new LCD Monitor, OOMA TELO, new personal Cable Modem, and home network changes), and a new legal computer hack that took a little finessing to get working (http://taleoftwowastelands.com/)
Round 1
Nethan shakes his head and smiles at Calathar's impromptu dramatization. Nethan points his finger in the direction of the shard throwers and uttering the words, "nil'GNos arCANiss!" A single missile of force launches from Nethan's finger then separates into two missiles seeking their own targets and impacting, "Try that on for size water minions!"
Missile 1 Damage: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 1 = 8
Missile 2 Damage: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 1 = 5
-1 MPS

Dreyyn |

Dreyyn initiates his panthera on the hunt maneuver, charging through Calathar's feet and behind Amelia to strike the creature closest to her.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7

Elise of the Red Hill |

@Cala - remember your damage dice increases as well! 1d10->2d8->3d8 IRRC
Seems as if round 1 is over - will wait a bit with round two action until Radiance updates : )

GM_Radiance |

Sorry for delay, didn't get to a computer yesterday.
Nethan fires off two missiles hitting two of the creatures, Dreyyn charges in finishing the other one that was in range of Amelia.
Round 2
Calathar marches up and swings at one of the other ones that has been damaged by Nethan felling it in a single swing of his now massive nodachi.
One of the closer minions decides to try to rush towards Calathar but with his massive reach he swings round to attempt to strike it.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
damage: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (6, 7, 1) + 9 = 23
It too falls to his blade. The others minions seeing that reach being a bit of a problem fall back and attempt to throw ice spears at him.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (4, 5) + 4 = 13
Two of the spears hit their large target though don't manage to bring it down. Calathar take 13 damage

Elise of the Red Hill |

Satisfied that the elementals seems to fall beneath their onslaught, Elise advances towards the next target. Her axe cuts a wide arc trough the air before impacting the poor critter with a loud 'splat'!
To Hit: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 28
Confirm: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 21
Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 3 + 3 = 14
Damage, if crit: 1d10 + 4 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 3 + 3 = 14

Amelia Lightfoot |
Amelia scrambles back onto the pathway with mythic speed! Closing the gap, she continues to strike with her starknives, this time aiming for the lake spirit herself.
Fleet Charge!: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 1 = 26; Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Ignores DR
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18; Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20; Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20; Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Nethan Ryon Akerman |

Since there were results in the last volley, he decides to repeat his last actions at the two in front of Elise and Nethan, "nil'GNos arCANiss!"
Magic Missile 1: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3) + 1 = 5
Magic Missile 2: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 1 = 7

GM_Radiance |

The ice spears are spears made of ice, so the damage is piercing if that matters to anyone's DR if they have it.
Nethan's magic missiles slam into the two near him. Flynt unloads a shot hitting the one to his left.
Amelia in retaliation throws all her flurry of blades at the Lake spirit, hitting each strike. The first strike cuts through any defenses the spirit has though the other three strikes are shrugged off somewhat.
Elise kills the minion she is engaged with quite easily.
The gorilla under arm throws the goblin onto Elise's back. The goblin leans over to Elise and whispers;
Alþórel to post, unless I missed something.
The spirit in the centre is getting continually annoyed at Amelia's efforts and again attempts to surround her with water.
fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 Amelia takes 2 damage again.
Dreyyn afterwards, then round 2 is over.

Alþórel |

Nope, that's fine... just that Alþórel has a spell to screw over cold damage.
foresight: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Alþórel runs up under Calathar, grabs the stunned Eldred and tries to drag him back. No normal Elf will with stand the forces at risk here.
move to Eldred - can move through Calathar's squares I believe. Initiate grapple. grapple: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Dreyyn |

how deep is the lake near the center? i'd like to get in a flanking spot on the other side of the lake creature, but i wouldn't do it if i thought the lake was deeper than a few feet. i mean, is it a lake or is it a pond? The answer decides my action, although my action is largely inconsequential as far as others are concerned so you can skip past me if need be and retcon my attack in if you want to hurry things along.

GM_Radiance |

I guess pond might be apt I'm not sure, basically you can be next to the lake spirit if you like it'll be difficult terrain as the water will come up just below your arms.
Round 3
I'll quickly do the water minions.
The three remaining water spirits at the behest of the central one all attack Amelia.
attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
attack 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
attack 3: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
All of them however miss Amelia with their spears.

Elise of the Red Hill |

With a surprised yelp Elise reacts with years of hard learned reflexes as the goblin land on her back. He quickly finds a clawed hand wrapped tightly around one of his appendages, ready to throw him off (hard). She manages to restrain herself, if only barely, when he whispers his request. "Hah - Your vocabulary certainly improved since you fish threats! Very well."
She takes another step closer to the central spirit, pushing trough the masses of water. Trusting her blade into the part that appears to be the creature, she grunts "Close enough or do I need another step?"
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 27
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 21
Damage: 1d10 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 3 = 14
Damage, extra: 1d10 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 3 = 12
The dice likes me this combat I think : )

Jeremiah Flynt |

Flynt, trusting Elise to take the front, focuses on thinning the minions' ranks some more.
Deadly Aim, PBS (Targeting furthest left): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Dreyyn |

last round
Dreyyn launches into an acrobatic strike known as the Scarlet Dragon Offensive Roll. Running along the stepping stones, he takes a leaping step head-first through the lake creature's immediate area, slashing around him in an arc with his spinning blade to try to fend off attacks. While splashing down behind the beast with his all-out attack, he strikes hard with one end of the blade.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (10) + 20 = 30 vs DC = enemy AC
If successful, enemy is flat-footed.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 (hopefully vs flat-footed AC)
dmg: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Amelia Lightfoot |
Round 3
Noticing that the center lake spirit was resisting her starknives, Amelia focuses on the minions instead, starting with the nearest one. Targeting the one west of her.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 121d1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 261d1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Crit?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 111d2d4 + 10 ⇒ (3, 4) + 10 = 17
10 starknives used.

Calathar the Golden |

Calathar moves forward to dominate the center of the lake (and take advantage of attacks of opportunity with his great reach). Bellowing in Celestial, he attacks the lake spirit.
"In Heaven's name, I smite thee! By the Seven-Fold Mountain I cast thee down into ruin!"
masterwork nodachi: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Damage: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (2, 1, 7) + 9 = 19
Or, you know, not.

Nethan Ryon Akerman |

Round 3
Witnessing Elise going after the the center water creature, Nethan focuses on the last water minion, once again he casts Mythic magic missile at the minion, however this time it will be receiving all of the missiles, "nil'GNos arCANiss!"
2 Magic Missiles: 4d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 2) + 2 = 13
-1 MPs

GM_Radiance |

Round 2
Alþórel drags the Eldred past Calathar, thankfully the Eldred isn't particularly heavy.
Dreyyn deftly gets into position and brings down his blade onto the lake spirit. He feels that it doesn't cut as well as it aught to be has been able to do some damage to the spirit.
Round 3
Calathar intimidates the spirit before striking at the spirit. The blade passes harmlessly through the spirit not able to do any structural damage to it as it cuts through. Just a fancy way of saying it missed.
Amelia throws a flurry of knives into one of the minions and Nethan sends a flurry of force bolts to another. Both manage to finish off the two minions they are targeting leaving a solitary one standing with the lake spirit in the centre. Flynt blasts the last minion with a shot leaving it wounded though not quite out of the fight yet.
Elise moves to the centre helping out Calthar and Dreyyn. She then strikes it with two well placed attacks. The goblin says "Oi no dissing our fish! Cale is a wonderful threat, one day it'll be a whale, just you wait!" The goblin takes out a blob of grey looking substance. Being close enough to the creature the goblin while still on Elise's shoulders leans over and throws this grey substance into the creature, the substance is currently suspend in the water that makes up the creature.
The lake spirit fed up with attempting to attack Amelia instead focuses her effort on Elise who has been tearing up a lot of her minions.
fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
The water around Elise quickly surrounds her entirely, forming into a globule around her. She is lifted into the air inside this globule, the goblin too. Elise could have sworn she held her breath but she quickly feels her lungs are depleted of oxygen.
To get out of here it would be a grapple check, no other action can be performed. Nearby allies can attempt to grapple to get you out of there before you attempt it yourself.
Dreyyn and Alþórel to post for round 3

Elise of the Red Hill |

Note! I screwed up earlier, the second attack is supposed to be the crit confirmation roll (so it will only deal damage if the spirit can actually be crited! [usually elementals can't be ... :)])
Also - could I joink the 10 from our card-deck and use it for the fort save : ) ? I think that will be enough to avoid it!

Dreyyn |

Dreyyn shouts "watch where I strike, and follow up!" before switching his stance to a more offensive one.
fancy way of describing ability. He will spend a standard to share his Precise Strike teamwork feat with all allies within 30ft. Then he will spend a mythic point to use his Sudden Strike champion attack.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 take better of these two
1d8 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 5 + (5) = 14 bypasses all DR

Amelia Lightfoot |
You got it, Elise.
Seeing the water spirit turn its attention on Elise, Amelia sees she's having trouble getting a way. She calls on the power of the Deck to change her fate! Immediate action to give Elise a 10 on the save.
She continues her assault on the lake spirit!
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
13 starknives spent

Jeremiah Flynt |

"Witchy nonsense," Flynt grumbles, pulling back the hammer on his revolver and firing on the final minion again, looking to crush the last of them while his friends keep the big bad busy.
Deadly Aim, PBS: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Alþórel |

Alþórel drags the Eldred to the bank, then turns around and starts to utter one of the Lesser Words, careful to keep it focussed on the Spirit.
I moved A and the Eldred. Not sure if I should have. I think the movmement is okay... but not sure if it is a standard or full action. If it is a standard action will Cast Ear-Piercing Scream. Spend a Mythic Point to make it Mythic. Spend a Mythic point to make it Potent. CL5 because of Feats.
2d8 ⇒ (8, 4) = 12 sonic damage and dazed for three rounds. DC 18 Fort Save to halve the damage and avoid dazing.

Nethan Ryon Akerman |

No, only Dreyyn and Alborel were supposed to go to finish up round 3

Dreyyn |

i have gone in round 3. last round i got up to flanking position, this round i shared my teamwork feat to everyone

GM_Radiance |

Right PSU in, computer now not deciding to melt.
@Elise: You can use the 10, thus the thing about being lifted into the air doesn't happen and you take half the damage. No as you thought, it can't be crit so it does the normal damage.
Round 3
Alþórel drags the Eldred to the bank then lets out another ear piercing shriek, leaving the last minion to shatter. Dreyyn launches an attack, leaving the enemy open for a prescise strike from the rest of the party.
Round 4
No more minions so it's the party until the Spirit gets to act, though I don't think it will.
Jeremiah's accuracy continues to hit its mark while Amelia gets a single star knife through. The spirit appears to be on its last legs.

Elise of the Red Hill |

"*Blub!*" Elise exclaims as the water engulfs her, but then, in the blink of an eye, the swirling mass of water is pushed back! Fate was tricked and Elise uttered a silent thanks to the magic of the deck. Then she continued on with a not-so-silent spray of words "I'm no freaking potted plant you moronic blob of water!" Gah! This wretched world and kobolds threatening with *fish* and violent *water* and ...! Gotta love it! With a grin she stepped in closer and delivered another blow with the polearm.
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 10
Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 3 + 3 = 19

Dreyyn |

i think the spirit acts before Dreyyn this round?

GM_Radiance |

@Dreyyn, yes it does, you can still post though if you like. I'm not sure it will be alive though.
Ignore the last bit about the minion dying since Ear piercing isn't an area spell.
The last minion attempts to stop the mage that is attacking its master.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Though with its master slowly unable maintain the minions' physical form its accuracy worse off for it and misses Alþórel.
Elise unfortunately misses with her attack. A moment later she remembers what the goblin did. The goblin has got its fingers in its ears ready for something to happen.

Calathar the Golden |

Calathar cannot speak in the tongues of men or spirits while in his battle rage, and so cannot offer to accept surrender. He merely attacks with his full fury.
masterwork nodachi: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Damage: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (5, 1, 3) + 9 = 18

Dreyyn |

Dreyyn will ready an action to duck underwater when what I am assuming is a bomb looks likeit's about to blow. If he can even tell what it is and when it might explode.

Jeremiah Flynt |

Annoyed by the hulking giant blocking his firing lane, Flynt moves to the side to get a clear shot.
PBS, Deadly Aim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Elise of the Red Hill |

Figured I missed, but didn't think twice about what the goblin did. O dear ... :P

GM_Radiance |

Calathar and Flynt both hit their mark, all but felling the creature. Dreyyn dives under the water as he sees the device the goblin put into the creature begin to shake. It explodes sending water in all directions.
reflex (calathar): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
reflex (elise): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Both Calathar and Elise while close to the creature both manage to step back as the anticipate the explosion as the water spirit begins to writhe around seemingly in pain.
The goblin on Elise's back shouts out "Haha, another one of those things go squish!"
The gorilla outreaches his hand then seemingly by an unknown force the goblin returns to it. The gorilla places the goblin on his back. The goblin looks around then looks to the sky.
Cale, the kobold, looks to the others and says "The Eldred will take a few minutes to wake up. We should probably move them away before they start attacking each other. You seem like you can handle your own, we are going to head back to the trading post if you wish to follow."
The goblin looks about to protest then Cale says "As long as we get what is left at the bottom of the lake that is."
The people closest to the centre can see that underneath the place that the lake spirit was there is a fist sized rock, carved with the symbol of Tar-Baphon, those that can sense magic can tell that the magic in it is quickly waning.

Amelia Lightfoot |
Amelia starts swimming around, collecting all her scattered starknives. It's really quite a frustrating process. When she's done, she checks back on Larskall and the other (non-possessed) Eldred. "So really, have you never seen these creatures before? It seems like they feed on the energies from your people to fuel some evil purpose."

Elise of the Red Hill |

Startled by the sudden explosion Elise jumps back, just in time to dodge most of the water. Seeing as the jubilant goblin gets safely extracted by his gorilla friend Elise mutters under her breath "Yeah, next time I'll charge for tickets ..." Louder, she calls out to Cale and starts making her way back to the shore. "This trading post of yours sounds good. But we might be interested in bringing our Eldred there - would that be a problem ?"
"If I were to hazard a guess - Eldred have probably met these before. Just not lived to tell about it." Elise comment as she is back terra (or extraplanar) firma. With an annoyed grunt she drags her boots off and pours the water out of them. With a wet boot in each hand she waves and tries to get the attention of either Alþórel or Nethan - "Either of you happened to memorize a drying spell ...?"

Jeremiah Flynt |

"I did," Flynt says pulling a box of (dry) matches out of his pocket. "How far is this trading post?" He was not as bad off as some of the others but the constant danger had left him feeling rather drained.
