weren't we going to find somewhere to rest? I'm out of 2nd level spells, Lyall is all out of all his spells. that's quite a chunk of our resources gone and we're in no fit state to take on the BBEG without them

"Seems giving them time to prepare for our arrival might be to their advantage, rest for the spellcasters seems to be of importance. How about that empty building over there? Let me scout it and make sure it is as empty as it looks."
Bleyz goes over to the empty-seeming place and checks it out, thoroughly searching it before declaring it clear and safe for the others.

Arkon resumes his human forms and proceeds into the building before doing his post chance stretching to work out the kinks.

Achren looks at Lyall and says, "Perhaps it is a question of balance. Those who wield the power of magic - whether it be divine or arcane - should not be permitted to do so unchecked, and so the Gods demand that they must rest more often."
As is his normal routine, Achren will stay up all night, sitting in position and resting long enough to regain spells.

"I have a spell that may allow an archer to deal extraordinary damage to it at a range. It is somewhat hit or miss, as the art of archery is. Too much of an odds game, but it is a game to play without other options."

How do you figure that? you have +8, he has +9. Am I missing something?

You press on and reach the great central tower were once the whispering tyrant ruled over this great city.
When you approach the tower you see that it is surrounded by a large moat filled with molten gold. A single 20 foot wide bridge leads to the tower.
On the bridge standing in the middle of it is the herald of Rasmir that lead the ambush against you before. Healed from her injuries. She waits until you are close enough to hear her speak (assuming you don't attack from range). For now the dragon continues to circle. It should have seen you but doesn't attack.
"You have done well to make it this far but the sacrifice of my faithful soldiers was not in vain. It delayed you long enough that Iramine was able to reach the jewel of everlasting wealth and with it she took control of all the cities defenses! Even now legions of golden sentinels march to this tower to defend it! And Before you can even enter this tower you will need to face on of the cities greatest guardian the gold-clad skeleton of Tar-Baphon’s Dragon!" she says pointing to the golden dragon skeleton who finally decides to come down and lands at the edge of the bridge right in between you and her making a mighty roar.

Seize the Initiative (Su): Whenever you and your allies roll for initiative, you can grant one ally within 30 feet the ability to roll twice and take either result. This decision is made before results are revealed. Used on Achren when inits come up

A golden skeleton explodes into a burst of flame when it is destroyed.
Light Fortification (Ex)
Whenever a sneak attack or critical hit is scored against a golden skeleton, there is a 25% chance that the extra damage is negated and damage is rolled normally.
It is immune to fire but vulnerable to cold and electricity.
Has damage reduction 10/bludgeoning.

During the herald talking buff time, Lyall tags everyone with Communal Resist Fire, first. Everyone now has Resist Fire 20. Lyall gives Arkon the 20 minute duration. If he had time earlier, he would have applied requested mage armor.

The dragon moves up and attacks snapping it's long neck forward and biting into Arkon.

Seeing the black tentacles all around the Herald retreats to the other side of the bridge to watch the battle. She hesitates then finally cast a spell of silence targeting Achren (make a will save dc 16 to negate).

As the dragon approaches, It's wing buffets Achren before he could duck, bashing him in his side. While he is recovering, the Razmiran casts silence on him,
Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
but he is able to throw it off before it settles. Moving up to the dragon (and probably receiving an AoO), he strikes
Claw attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 1 = 14 +1 for haste, but still probably a miss
Just in case:
Damage if hits: 1d4 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Don't forget guys: Haste gives +1 to hit, +1 to AC, +1 to Reflexes and extra attack on full attack.
