With the scorpions claws barely scraping his armor, Thundering Bull brings down his axe upon its carapace. He looks very confused as it dissipates into nothingness. Mighty Bull beat weak scorpion!

Seeing no other threats, he begins to lumber back inside the tomb. So hot. Why sun so hot? Back in the tomb, he slowly makes his way to the boulder and looks at the rest of the party expectantly. "Ready to go inside," he says, slightly nodding his head.

The heroes move into the next room, it is lowlight in here, considering you left the entrance door cracked open. This square room is starkly devoid of any markings or adornment. In the center of the chamber's floor, a square shaft drops straight down into darkness. A faint musty odor rises from the pit. A single piton has been hammered into the stone floor by the northeast corner of the pit, and a dusty length of rope dangles from the piton darkness of the shaf. Lowlight in this room and you can see about 5 feet into the shaft, and cannot see to the bottom, as it is considered dark after the first 5 feet down, so yes you need light or darkvision beyond this room.

As the heroes investigate the room and rope, they find no traps, nothing of interest and that the rope only goes down five feet and is very unsafe anyway. As they get light into the room, they realize the shaft goes down 60 feet, so they will have to find a way down.

"Have many rope."" Thundering Bull says as he pulls a knotted and coiled rope from his backpack.

Need snack. Reminded of the contents of his bucket, he pulls out a loaf of bread and a hunk of cheese. Both covered in grease. While the party decides their course of action, he sits down to deliberately bite one and then the other.

The shaft is 10 feet wide, and is a perfect square. As the heroes use a rope, they all get down safely. Thundering Bull is the last to go down as he enjoys his snack. They reach the Lower Shaft Room.
Mirrored images of a warrior in side profile, facing inward, are carved on an ornate pair of stone doors in the west wall of this square room. The figure is depicted wearing padded armor, with a scarab-shaped shield on the arm facing the viewer, and a raised khopesh held aloft in the other. A crumpled humanoid body lies directly in front of the doors. A hint of decay hangs in the air, and a dried stain mars the stone floor under the body. A square shaft (where you came from) in the ceiling leads straight up into darkness.

The heroes examine the door, the room and the body. They find a useable hammer, 2 metal pitons and 2 alchemist's fire, somehow still intact. They examine the room and the door and discover it appears to be safe. They do realize they door might be stuck. If you want to know how he died or how long he'd been there, that'd be a heal check.

DungeonMaster

After the heroes open the door they see a long hallway, 10 feet wide and 35 feet wide. The walls of this ten-foot-wide corridor feature bas-relief carvings of great battles. Armies with spears and shields clash at the direction of generals, while other leaders direct troops from chariots that are ruthlessly overrunning their enemies. Engraved stone double doors stand at either end of the hallway.
