I'm not the flaky sort. I finish what I start. I find that a lot of GMs on the board start up things they can't finish, which irritates me no end.
So far only about 3 games I've been in have actually got a satisfactory conclusion...out of the huge number I've applied to.
Then again once you get to it, I'm a grouchy, cynical ol' coot. Who dumped wis, cha and dex just to put more points into int.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Sorry impromptu trip 8hrs driving yesterday.

GM Mort |

For those endlessly curious...
Had you opened the door and headed 200 ft down into the darkness, you would have run into this at level 2,tops?
So yes there are really some Wtf ways to die, mod as written.

Leonard Neithan |

Heh, will saves, am I right?

GM Mort |

Nope. You just get Om Nom Nom Nom Nomed. Like what happened to you with the Formless Spawn.

Seamus Passeri |
Just to make sure, were not able to keep any of the items we get in the dream world right?
Is there someplace in the dream world we can sell the items and purchase something that would transfer?
For instance, if we had a weapon upgraded in the dream world would the upgrade transfer into the real world?

![]() |

Well, I am assuming that the reason we are being given some (frankly ridiculous) items, is precisely *because* they won't transfer...

GM Mort |

Items in the dream world are not present in the real world.
Upgrades in the dream world – the upgrade would not transfer into the real world.
The only person who could have possibly done some kind of transfer/had contacts for transfer…Vincent tried to murderhobo him, then left him in an acid pit to die…
*Shrugs*

GM Mort |

Oh the Vooniths. You need to planeshift them back into the dream world. Planeshift requires you to touch a target, then all the targets gear and the target are transfered to the other plane.
Come on, Seamus. Crummock has been using planeshift several times in Reign of Winter. You should have some idea how it works.

Seamus Passeri |

Crummock??? I don't believe Seamus has ever met someone named 'Crummock' It must have been one of the events that was lost in his memory...
:-)
Why would you assume that I remember the way spells work??? I have you and Howard for that. If you ever forget how a club works, I'll be sure to remind you.

GM Mort |

You should remember how spells work. Especially if you're thinking of pulling something off with them.
I'm not sure which end of the club I'm supposed to bonk people with, honestly...
I'm not pushing plot until I get an OK for someone we're cool resting 2 days before next dream venture.

GM Mort |

I don't mind giving the time. It's no rush anyway, and again, you're asking at a time Leonard and Vincent are asleep.
Plot will move, eventually anyway.

Vincent Arazeiros |

The usual. Mutagen, barkskin, and the two for ritual.
Will wear mantle in dreamlands. We should stash this stuff somewhere and pick up via planeshift.

![]() |

@Vincent: It's not that simple.
With Plane Shift, you arrive 5d100 miles off target, and don't know which way to go to get to your target, so unless you are already familiar with where you are going, it can be extremely difficult to get there.
Moreover, we won't get access to Plane Shift until at least 13th level...

Vincent Arazeiros |

Sure didnt think it'd be easy. But if we don't stash it we can't recover it anyway lol
Hmm, if it sticks with us after dreaming, maybe we can dump it in a bag on me when we leave, and if we figure out how to get there I could do a ritual again to land over there with all the stuff and hand it off.

GM Mort |

The items you get in Dreamlands only appear in Dreamlands. They are not on you when you wake up. Just a FYI.

Leonard Neithan |

I've been meaning to retcon a few things, which I'll be doing about now, but I think we can move forward.

GM Mort |

I'm having some issues with the paizo boards, I cannot preview my posts so I will have to post then edit. I am sorry for any confusion caused by such an arrangement.

GM Mort |

Mod as written, first time you die in Dreamlands you get a lesser madness upon awakening. Subsequent times, a greater madness. The mod does not differetiate whether the earlier lesser madness has been cured or not.

GM Mort |

I'm happy to wait. But as I said, I needed player input. Im also waiting for Leonard getting smashed incident with Vincent. It sounds like fun!

GM Mort |

Honestly, I was mildly irritated that you could have time to debate about how to bring Dreamlands loot into Golarion, but no time to just say, sure, Howard, you can have a day off. Again I suppose it's uncharitable of me since I didn't make my expectations clear.

GM Mort |

And honestly a break while I watch players interact among themselves sounds good too, since for this entire book I've been pushing all the Dreamlands stuff and I can tell you the sheer amount of text I had to get typed, pasted and edited is tiring on me too.
Yes I may have more energy then most people, but that doesnt mean it's limitless, besides I haven't had a good night's sleep for a week since I've been coughing for an entire week. Again feeling sorry for myself isn't making things any better. *smacks self for self-pity*
I've gone to see a doctor but I suspect it's one of those chronic coughs that are a pain to get better. So yeah nothing to do except suck it up and push on.
It's not a debilitating condition it's just irritating.

Seamus Passeri |

Huh, I was waiting to let Leonard or Vincent make the call. I thought it was obvious that Seamus will let Howard do anything he wants, since he thinks Howard is a super-genius.
But if there is any question let's make it official. "Howard can do whatever he wants and Seamus will not say 'no'" Oh and just to be fair "Any time Vincent or Leonard wants to stop and do anything; Seamus will not try and prevent it."
I would like to think he is fairly relaxed. Except when it comes to trying to salvage the wealth they earn. He would like to keep that...

GM Mort |

Fair enough, I cannot assume a players intentions.
*Goes off muttering something about Loot-greedy fks*
*Wonders what happens if Howard sells Seamus to Succubus to get her profane gift....*

GM Mort |

Also, lets put it this way – the WBL of a level 9 character is 46,000.
A mantle of spell resistance would be 90k
Sunblade would be 50k.
Necklace of fireballs 8k
Lions shield 9k.
Decanter of endless water 9k
The +1 vorpal scimitar before you sold it at the Viscount’s Gala is 72k
If all of them were not sold – that would be value of 238k
Total WBL of party according to calculations should be 184,000gp
Lets say we sold everything – 119 k
And considering you already have about 13k each.
Don’t you think the maths…says something?

GM Mort |

About not getting WBL - I give what the mod says you get. Whether you're up to WBL or not doesn't concern me.
Going over WBL will, though =)

Vincent Arazeiros |

You do realize I posted in gameplay before that conversation started... Mildly irritating is correct.

GM Mort |

That was aimed at Seamus. I was not expecting you or Leonard to chime in at that hour anyway.
As indicated here - I remarked that you and Leonard were not logging in at that hour, so I didn't mind waiting to give you lot a chance to respond.

GM Mort |

*relents slightly*
The AP does factor in for your lack of WBL, and perhaps not the way you might have chosen, but that's AP life for you.
Again, when I railroad you it's all in the name of player interest, right?

GM Mort |

If I truly feel that certain conditions in the AP are unfair, I will mod them and give compensation of a sort. Often the compensation will be very generous.
I.e Mod as written in Reign of Winter, there are no spellbooks,as the bad guys are mostly witches.
So I had a prepared caster(arcanist) in the party. So if you play a prepared caster, you'd expect to have access to spells for greater flexibility right?
So what I did was to pop a library that had every single spell on the arcanist spell list. It was basically a blank cheque - copy whatever you want, just pay necessary time and cost for it.
But since Strange Aeons actually drops spellbooks.. I see no reason why it needs modding/other ways to get spells.

GM Mort |

Howard - please tell me what you've been putting on that amulet so I know what to look out for(conditional modifiers etc).

![]() |

That's okay - I built Howard assuming that I would never have access to anything beyond the 'two free spells per level' that my class grants me ;-)

GM Mort |

Sorry Seamus. Didn't mean to tempt you. I know it's insensitive of me, but I thought you were kidding the last time you were low carb diet.
Oh Noes 1 plate of rosti is 1090 calories!
And here I thought it was less calorific then French fries...
*Starts pulling out fur*
Don't mind me... I've been trying to lose weight for a long long while. Without too much success.
At least the takeaway I got from it was that I might look like a tubby lump but I can run longer then what my size would indicate.
