Male Human Spelless Ranger

Same thing, and thanks for re-using the roll

M Goblin 1 Cavalier

Jabbik Seeing Bugbears bursting through the floor will mount BloodyPaws
and help these folsk He currently finds himself with.
Sword Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Sword Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
"Get Him BloodyPaws!!" Pointing to the same one
Gore Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Gore Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Olivia? Asopus? Ecko?

Inactive

Sorry, rough few days

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Ecko seems to shrink back as the large creature tears into the room, swinging its enormous morningstar. Raising his pistol he tries to steady his hand enough to shoot at the beast, firing prematurely before struggling to reload it.

Male Human Wizard 1

Asopus having no spells and being unwilling to fire into melee simply waits.

Have no chance of hitting those guys with a -4 to attack, so just holding action until one of them pulls free of the melee.

Female Aasimar Paladin 1 [HP 12/12] [AC 17. T 11. FF 16] [F+4 R+1 W+0] Init+1 Per+2 D.Vision

Ditto on the rough few days. Sorry about that.

Olivia attempts to duck below the arc of the lead creature's weapon and jab her spear into it's side.

Spear Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Jabbik- your new sword is actually masterwork, so your attacks with it will be at +5 total. There was also a shield in there, though I'm not sure if anyone took it way back at the beginning.

Asopus maintains his position on the ladder, staying as far from the melee as possible.
"Whuh-What's going on down there?!", Meira shouts, panicking.
"Um, nothing to worry about, I'm sure...", Ariso replies.

Despite their enduring personal enmity, Vinter and Jabbik prove a formidable team against the bugbear facing them. The ranger stuns the hulking beast with his hammer and the goblin knight finishes him off with a twist of his blade. The bugbear slumps to the floor in a pool of blood.

Setting the hammer on his pistol, Ecko unfortunately releases the trigger a tad too early and fires into the wall of the shack. For what it's worth, the clapboard construction never saw it coming.

Olivia easily dives beneath the bugbear's burly arm and drives her spear deep into it's side, eliciting a bellow of pain and rage along with the expected gout of blood.

Round two
Grunting with exertion, the last bugbear standing attempts to bring his morningstar down on Olivia.

Morningstar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 71d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

It breathes heavily, sending only a dizzy swing in her direction that is easily deflected.

Back to you guys.

Male Human Spelless Ranger

Round 2

Vinter almost smiles as the warm goblinoid blood begins to flow. "Ah"! "Now this is what life is all about".

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Warhammer smashing, hatred
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Warhamer smashing, hatred

Inactive

Ecko instinctively takes another step back as the Bugbear makes another swing with its large morningstar. Focusing on steadying his hands, he fires another shot, hoping that this one will strike true.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
1d8 ⇒ 7

Isn't reloading a pistol a standard action?

Inactive

Ah balls, you're right. Instead I'll reload and move myself further away from the bugbear.

No problem, just wanted to be sure. Something to look forward to for third level, I suppose.

M Goblin 1 Cavalier

Watching Vinter enjoy himself I'll have to keep an eye on him maybe...but back to the job at hand... and he goes after the bugbear

Sword Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Sword Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Get him boy! pointing at the bugbear
Gore Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Gore Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Jabbik's blade slashes the bugbear's bowels and his mount's tusks drive it to the floorboards. The boar, caught up in the excitement, stomps on the corpse several times for good measure.

For a moment, the shack is quiet as you catch your breath and look down, far below to the desert floor where the shanties that once joined this one lay in the desert sands in a broken heap.

Female Aasimar Paladin 1 [HP 12/12] [AC 17. T 11. FF 16] [F+4 R+1 W+0] Init+1 Per+2 D.Vision

Ahem. Olivia clears her throat at Jabbik. He is dead. I think you can stop jumping on him. The aasimar walks over to the hole in the floor of the shack. "I think we've gone as far as we are going to get this way."

Where there other ways to go? I think that we explored all of the ladders going up, right? Was this the only descending ladder?

M Goblin 1 Cavalier

Jabbik pats BloodyPaws on the side of his head Good Job!!
looking at Olivia Its good to let him get it out of his system, its the smell and taste of blood....he loves it
Hoping off BloodyPaws he sees what the bugbears have
Initial descriptions mentioned a bugbear having a flail...If so Jabbik takes it as that was his preferred weapon

Male Human Wizard 1

Asopus just makes sure that all of his things are in order, and he begins to read the spellbook that was found.

Olivia Forgeborn wrote:

This was the only way to descend. The only path is to go straight up from where you are and to look for an alternative route, since there is a trap door in the ceiling of the highest shack on your present side.

In fairness, I think it's worth noting that when you do escape the Warring Abominations you'll be miles from civilization- and you may not have a priest to create water for you every day unless Ariso's player pipes up soon. This may be your last chance to figure out how you'll divide up or carry those water barrels you passed in the supply room. Nabbit's got a bit of gear for himself, but Meira and his friend (and presumably, his captive sister) don't. So that's two to three extra mouths to look after, assuming they make it.

Each bugbear wears a suit of leather armor and carries a flail, a light wooden shield and three javelins. One has a necklace of badly preserved ears, while the other has some gold and silver facial piercings that may fetch some coin if you get out of this hellhole.

Asopus Seekerstone wrote:

With some time to study, you find that the spellbook contains enlarge person, grease, jump and magic weapon.

Female Aasimar Paladin 1 [HP 12/12] [AC 17. T 11. FF 16] [F+4 R+1 W+0] Init+1 Per+2 D.Vision

Olivia puts a sheild on her back and tucks a flail into her belt. These should come in handy. she muses to herself.

We should find something portable to move the water in those barrels around. Everyone should keep their eyes peeled for jars, flasks, canteens, anything with a lid. If we ever get out of here, it will be a long way to the nearest city or village. Olivia begins to backtrack through the place, looking out for anything that could hold water.

Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

In the scattered sleeping quarters and guard rooms you find a variety of clay jugs and stoppered flasks, along with a noxious and potent jug of some goblin liquor made from fermented cactus and who knows what else. It's likely to make most of you ill, but Jabbik may find it to his taste.

The most fortunate find, though, are six empty waterskins dumped behind some of the busted water barrels.

You hear a loud banging from the hatch where you first entered from the tentacle bridge- a sound like axes on cheap wood.

Male Human Wizard 1

"For the love of Hecate why won't you creatures just die already!"

Asopus seems very angry that they are being attacked once again just after he had gotten to look at the book, and he pulls out his sling.

Readying action to attack with sling if the door is busted down.

Female Aasimar Paladin 1 [HP 12/12] [AC 17. T 11. FF 16] [F+4 R+1 W+0] Init+1 Per+2 D.Vision

Upon finding the water skins: Olivia breaths a heavy sigh of relief and passes the containers to her compainions. Mavros has granted us a rare mercy this day.
She uncorks and sniffs the jug. Ugh, Jabbik, I think this is something that you would take more interest in.

Jabbik: Is Bloddy paws wearing any saddlebags or harness? Anything that we might tie some additional jugs of water to?

Hearing the banging at the door: Oliva nods to Asopus, encouraged by his fire, grits her teeth and braces her spear, readying for a charge.

Inactive

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Ecko gladly takes the waterskin from Olivia and starts trying to fill it up from one of the barrels. As the banging gets louder, he cocks his head in nervousness, trying to gauge how long the door might hold. Reaching into his pack, he pulls out another bomb, and prepares to throw it only after the door gives way.

Male Human Spelless Ranger

"Well fill one of those up for me would you". "I'm going to see whose at the door".

In Goblin Vinter bangs on the door and shouts. "Who is there". "Maybe I will just let you in"?

M Goblin 1 Cavalier

Taking the Jug From Olivia, Jabbik opens it and takes a swig, coughing a bit from it he say I've had worse... re-stoppers it and decides to take it with him.
Hearing Vinter yelling at the door in Goblin decides he should be ready, he mounts BloodyPaws and heads towards the door flail drawn waiting to attack any hostile creature that comes through.
Hoping to possibly defuse the angry Goblins on the other side of the door
he Yells in goblin I am Jabbik, Of the Order of the Scarlet Boar, I order you to lay down your weapons, and cease hostilities against us or face the wrath of the order, and thier friends looking at Vinter did I just say he was a friend? and says to Vinter in a lower voice We are a respected Order here in the watelands

Intimidate: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16

Jabbik only bought a saddle no saddle bags sadly, tho we maybe able to ties few to the saddle

"Grosgr sent us for your welcome feast!", bellows a deep voice below, followed by a chorus of high pitched laughs. "Just throw down the ladder and we'll have some sport!"

With another hearty thump, the tip of an axe blade cracks through the trapdoor- it won't hold out much longer.

Nabbit has crept down after you, his companion in tow.
"We don't have time to fight them all. Listen- we can climb higher and cut the shacks down after us. That should buy us time to figure how we'll get down from there.", the gnome whispers.

Male Human Spelless Ranger

"Good Idea". "Let's go up and watch these fellas splat".

I'm having a hard time visualizing the setting at the moment, or I would act more decisively :0.

Yeah, I can understand. I'll try to get an image from the book up to help understand the place better.

A larger view of the Warring Blasphemies.
You came from the top of Gortogga's slug head, down it's back and over to the tentacle grasping Ashkharak's leg. Now you are in the stacked up shacks on Ashkharak's thigh.

The Stacked Shacks

So 4 is where you climbed up from the tentacle bridge. A is the corpse room with the carpet of flies and B is where the torture chamber was located. At C you found a shack with a wall ripped up and various personal belongings scattered and D is the storage area with all the water barrels. E is the trap door up toward Ashkharak's midsection. The very bottom right shack is where the bugbears stormed in and cut off retreat to the desert floor. Vinter and Jabbik are currently at 4, standing atop the trap door to the tentacle bridge.

I hope this is helpful and I'm sorry I didn't put it up earlier.

Female Aasimar Paladin 1 [HP 12/12] [AC 17. T 11. FF 16] [F+4 R+1 W+0] Init+1 Per+2 D.Vision

Olivia shouts down to the pair. "Yeah, nothing back that way but bad guys and snail guts. Come on up." she extends her hand down to assist anyone climbing up.

Olivia is also going to detect evil at the hatch, just to be sure.

Male Human Wizard 1

Asopus follows quietly hoping to get out of the way before the door gets busted down.

M Goblin 1 Cavalier

Seeing the others weary of battle, Jabbik decides to follow Tying Rope to BloodyPaws before he goes up. Someone want to help me pull him up please? looking at the those already up here.

Female Aasimar Paladin 1 [HP 12/12] [AC 17. T 11. FF 16] [F+4 R+1 W+0] Init+1 Per+2 D.Vision

"Sure thing Jabbik"

Strength check if needed:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Male Human Spelless Ranger

Vinter climbs up as well, but doesn't help the stinking goblin they're stuck with do anything. He will put up with him for now, and he did fight well, seemingly on the side of the party, but he know better than to trust him. He would accept his presence till they found their way out of this situation anyway. He begins heading upward and westward, as far from where they currently are as possible, since this looks to be a dead end.

M Goblin 1 Cavalier

Yelling back Grosgr Send you to your deaths as he did these other pathetic fools, because he is afraid of us. Turn back now or be corpses like your friends.
Intimidate: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Maybe thier laughing at me will slow them a bit with that intimidate check..heh
Thanks Nodding at Olivia. Looking at Vinter with a grin It be shame if he got too close to an edge...a real shame. Tho he does fight ok...
Str Check if needed: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 With Olivia's str check I hope that good enough
Once BloodyPaws is up he will follow the others

Jabbik pushes the grunting battle boar's weight from below while Olivia strains on the makeshift spider silk rope above. The beast rises very slowly, but up he goes.

The boarding party below continues pounding on the trap door...
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
... but the wood holds, at least for now.

So the shacks are held together with ropes- cutting the proper rope requires a standard action and a Knowledge (Engineering) check to know which ones will create the desired effect. Alternately, you can slow them down by pulling up or breaking ladders behind you and barricading trap doors. Might not be as recklessly genocidal as Vinter would like, but it can buy you some time without the possibility of accidentally killing you.

Female Aasimar Paladin 1 [HP 12/12] [AC 17. T 11. FF 16] [F+4 R+1 W+0] Init+1 Per+2 D.Vision

Following Vinter. "I'm all for getting out of here quickly and cutting some ropes on the way." Staring at the ropes and scratching her head. Um.. anyone know which of these to cut?"

Inactive

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Shoot: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 141d8 ⇒ 3

Hmm, I don't have a blade. This may be interesting.

At Olivia's mention of the ropes, a grim realisation seems to dawn on the Tengu. The ropes weren't something he'd thought of, even noticed. Now, examining them closely, he realises his error. "Of course of course of course." He squawks. "Cut the ropes!"

Cocking his head back and forth, he examines the bundles of ropes while the others climb, before finally settling on one that he thinks will do the job. Wrapping his arms around it he dives in with his beak, gnawing away on the rope for a second before realising that it may not be the quickest way. Muttering quietly to himself, he walks over to the rope leading up above and grabs it with one hand. Steadying his other arm, he fires a shot at the rope that he'd tried to bite, hoping that it's the right one.

Male Human Spelless Ranger

"Hey you useless piece of goblin flesh". "Either make yourself useful, and come and cut this rope, or give me your sword so I can do it". "I know you're probably not smart enough to realize I can't cut it with this hammer". "Let's see whose side you're really on".

M Goblin 1 Cavalier

Jabbik hearing about enough from Vinter Look you worthless excuse for a human you want to fight we can fight!
Hopping on BloodyPaws's Back tho hearing ecko's words tho pulls the short sword and not his favored weapon, the flail, and points it at Vinter.
or do you want to get away from those raving lunatics?
as He quickly slashes the sword at a random rope
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Which is it gonna be? because we are getting out of here with or with out you...and since you fight well...Mavaros must bless you some
Bowing his head slightly as he says the war gods name
I'd rather you go with, as it ups our survival chances...but I did not join the Scarlet Rovers and Order of Scarlet Boar to take crap from half brain idiots like you!

Ecko easily identifies the necessary ropes. While his beak isn't quite enough to do the job on its own, Jabbik's sword coupled with the Hunnin's instruction is more than enough to do the job. With a great creak, the shack below you lists and wobbles, even as you hear the final crack of the splintered trap door accompanied by cruel goblin cheers.

As a great ruckus of stamping feet is heard below, the ravenfolk curtly motions off any other assistance. Ecko takes a position on the ladder and aims his pistol at the other load bearing rope. The hammer strikes a spark and with a loud blast, the support rope snaps.

You can all hear and feel it beneath you, the moorings coming loose and a great groan and rattle of timbers straining and collapsing. You can barely hear the shrieks of the goblins over the rumble of the falling shacks. The chambers fall a great distance to land at Ashkherak's titanic foot, tiny distant goblins running for cover before the whole rickety assemblage kicks up a great cloud of dust and sand. You've discouraged further pursuit for the time being... but the only way left is up.

M Goblin 1 Cavalier

That worked well, good idea Olivia. says Jabbik, smiling at the aasimar, tho only briefly as he returns his gaze back to Vinter.

Female Aasimar Paladin 1 [HP 12/12] [AC 17. T 11. FF 16] [F+4 R+1 W+0] Init+1 Per+2 D.Vision

Olivia puts herself between the cavalier and the ranger. "Cool it you two, I think it's obvious that we are all on the same side. I don't think any of us asked to be sucked up by that dragon."

Diplomacy1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

Olivia pulls out a water skin, takes a draw and passes it around.
"Lets take a breather, have a drink, then keep moving."

Male Human Spelless Ranger

"See"! "His true nature reveals itself"! Vinter takes a step towards the hateful goblin, then hesitates when he hears the words of the holy woman. Though not devout himself, he's not one to tempt fate...just in case there is something after death. His face reddens a bit in embarrassment, and barely held in check rage. He then stomps upward, mumbling under his breath.

Male Human Wizard 1

Asopus simply shakes his head.

Hecate's trials can be trying sometimes. I only hope that these fellows might be useful before they decide to kill each other. I wonder if the gnome would take a bet on who would win?

Inactive

Rather pleased by how that went, Ecko lets out a sharp chirp, though his feathered face betrays no emotions. The ravenfolk begins climbing ladders, ignoring the conflict between the others as being somewhat irrelevant to the escape. The woman had already proved a degree of value, though, and he keeps checking regularly to make sure that she's still moving.

M Goblin 1 Cavalier

Seeing Vinter back down from the challenge, Jabbik Puts the sword away and takes the water from Olivia. Thanks. Nodding at Olivia.
Looking down at wreckage they had caused That definitely should slow them down, but we should get going before more show up. Hopefully we didn't drop the exit. and follows the others
