This spell creates a large mass of frozen holy water that can be used for one of two effects.

Holy Ice Wall: This functions like wall of ice (hemisphere or plane). Any creature that takes damage from holy water takes 1 point of damage every time it touches or attacks the ice wall
with melee attacks; extended contact with the wall (such as standing or walking on it) deals 1d6 points of damage. Even when the ice has been broken through, a sheet of frigid holy air remains. Any creature that steps through it (including the one who broke through the wall) takes 1d6 points of damage + 1 point per caster level (no save); half of this damage is cold damage, half is damage from holy water (creatures unharmed by holy water do not take the damage).

Holy Ice Javelins: The spell creates a number of javelins of frozen holy water in your square equal to your caster level (maximum 15), which hurl themselves toward one or more targets that are no more than 10 feet away from each other.
You must succeed on attack rolls (one per javelin) to hit the target with the javelin, using your base attack bonus + your Wisdom modifier. The javelins deal 1d6 damage each, plus 1 point of cold damage and 1 point of damage from holy water.

After the Spire Drake spits its burst of clinging black motes, the party reacts.

Round One

Leira moves over to Ulfgard and gives him the ability to fly.

Haskyll sends a barrage of Icy Javelins toward the Spire Drake. Several of them missed the target, but most of them shatter just before or on the Spire Drakes tough hide. One did manage to penetrate the Drakes stout defenses. It is obvious to Haskyll that this creature has magic defenses up.

Droja backs up and brings up a Shield of Faith.

Ulfgard receives Leira's spell. He will now be able to fly.

Kaos was already flying and charges the Spire Drake. The Dragon Disciple was not able to avoid an attack by the big dragon-like creature as he approaches.

The Spire Drake bites the Dragon Disciple. Kaos will not immediately notice that the skin and tissues around the bite area quickly starts to turn black.

Spire Drake Bite: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 254d6 + 12 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 2) + 12 + (4) = 27

Kaos then drives Gorum's Thorn into the winged creature. It howls.

The Spire Drake then defends itself with all it has. Both claws strikes the Dragon Disciple, but fortunately its left claw just missed stabbing Kaos in a vital area.

The Sprire Drake calls out while engaged in battle, "You too are coming for the horn. Those Marsh Giants came for the horn too. Though they killed my companions, I sent them to a death beyond death. Scarrak will send you there as well."

Icy Prison. DC22 reflex or be entrapped in 10 inches of ice. If the save is failed, the creature is helpless, but it can still breath. If it saves it is simply entangled, but otherwise can act normally. regardless it will take ten points of cold damage per round, whether helpless or entangled. the Ice has hardness 0, and 30hp, and it can be burst with a DC25 strength roll, and a full round action. That's ten points of cold damage per round. It has a duration of ten minutes. Welcome to icy death

The young girl advances past the cliff edge without falling, thanks to her fly spell, and once she has a clear shot, she says necromancy words and a coruscating ray of enfeeblement springs from her hand, the black energy flying precise towards the drake to siphon his strength and hopefully convince him.

Round Two

Leira flies out toward the Drake. She hits it with a Ray of Enfeeblement. It resists the full effect, but still takes a significant sap in its strength.

Haskyll goes to the edge of the cliff and says a Prayer to give the party a little boost.

The Drake was just outside of your burst. However, everyone will get the +1.

Droja begins to summon in something to help.

Ulfgard flies out with a charge toward the Drake.

The Drake reacts to Ulfgard's attacks, but misses the flying Dwarf.

Spire Drake Bite AoO: 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 14 - 2 = 164d6 + 12 - 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 5) + 12 - 2 + (1) = 27

The Dwarf Ranger also missed his attack against the well protected Drake.

Kaos goes after the Drake with a full set of attacks. Unfortunately, none of the attacks penetrated the Spire Drakes protections and tough hide.

The Drake back flaps his wings moving back a bit then spits another compressed ball of jet-black dust that bursts into a spray of clinging motes that falls on Leira, Kaos, and Ulfgard.

Accursed Breath: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 4, 5) = 21

Leira, Kaos, and Ulfgard must make a DC19 Will Save or take 21 points of Negative Energy damage, 10 points if you save. If you fail your Save you will take a –2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks for the next 3 Round. If you make your save this effect will last only through the next Round.

Anga whips up something new. She tries to encase the Spire Drake in a prison of ice.

Spire Drake Reflex Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

The Spire Drake becomes encased in ice. It cannot fly, so it drops 120 feet to the ground.

Fall Damage: 12d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 4, 1, 4, 3, 2, 1, 6, 1, 1) = 34

It survives the fall. The impact shatters the icy prison.

The Spire Drake took 34 points of damage from the fall, plus 10 points of ice damage. The Spire Drake is now on the valley floor.
The 34 points of damage was enough to destroy the Icy Prison. But I would say that was effective in this circumstance.

The Mule was eating a few blades of grass growing at the cliff's base. She is startled by the sudden icy crash of the Spire Drake landing near her.

As Droja goes to the cliff's edge to see what's happening, a Large Air Elemental appears. Droja points to the Spire Drake at the bottom of the cliff.

The Large Air Elemental charges down toward the Spire Drake at an incredible speed. It tries to slam into the Drake, but was not able to harm the Drake.

Air Elemental Slam plus Charge: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 14 + 2 = 201d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

"That is not something you see everyday." Droja states the obvious.

Yes. I would think a 120 foot fall would leave the Spire Drake in a
Prone condition. It still can take an Attack of Opportunity. Let's see how it does.

As Kaos dive bombs the fallen Spire Drake, the creature with its long neck bites at the approaching Dragon Disciple.

The Spire Drake sinks its teeth into the Dragon Disciple as Kaos approaches. Kaos then drives Gorum's Thorn into the winged beast. The beast stops moving as it blood pours out of it flesh.

Sorry guys but that was an a epic last strike. Diving down with Then suddenly the creature lashes out and grabs him but though the rage Kaos continues the attack sinking GT though it neck. At least that's how it played out in my head.

Kaos will let out a rour of triumph. Then with the adrenaline from the fight still coursing through his veins. He will fly back to the cavern and as soon as he gets to the edge he will stand Victorious. Then collapse on his face.

Glad that you came back up, after all, the only way I could have gotten to you in time, would have been dive bombing the mule myself, and the landing would have hurt.

As he notes Leira stabalized him.

Round Three

Leira watches as Ulfgard and the Dragon Disciple dive after the Spire Drake.

Droja sends an Air Elemental down after it, but does nothing to the Spire Drake.

Ulfgard dives down as well. But the Dwarf Ranger is not use to flying and was unable to make solid contact with Agrimmosh.

Kaos flies down in a rage. The Spire Drake begins to recover from its fall and snaps at Kaos. It sinks its teeth once again into the Dragon Disciple. But retribution can be a good thing. Kaos drives Gorum's Thorn into the beast. It begins to bleed and stops moving.

Anga wants to know if the creature is dead.

Round Four Retcon

Leira watches in horror the events taking place.

Haskyll hesitates.

Droja watches as well.

Ulfgard realizes that the Spire Drake is unconscious and not dead.

Kaos flies up to Haskyll. His rage subsides. When that happens the Dragon Disciple collapses.

Kaos comes around when Haskyll provides a Cure Critical Wound. But the Cleric will know that the Heal spell should have been far more effective.

Leira flies toward Kaos to offer more aid. She does not know the depths of what is going on with the healing. But she, like all the other members of the party, will note that the black motes are still attached to your skin. The area around these motes are turning black. Around Kaos' bite wounds the skin is black as well. Haskyll's healing did nothing for them.

Continuation

Haskyll will be able to treat the deadly bite wounds. The area of black around the bite marks begins to show more color. But the motes still remain. And these black motes are on all the members of the party.

She turns to Haskyll in desperation "What does it mean? What can we do about this? Are we going to die of poison?"


Meanwhile, Anga looks around the massive cave.

Piles of coins are part of what appears to be a nest. The bed is mostly copper coins around 6000 copper pieces form a massive mound. But there are silver pieces too (1840sp), and gold (432gp), and even a sprinkling of platinum (28pp). Anga will see an amulet, a couple of potion bottles, a scroll case, a heavy pick, a battle axe, a parka, a portable ram of all things, a smokestick, two sunrods, two copper and silver armbands filigreed with snakes eating their own tails (worth 380 gp as a set), a silver ring set with three aquamarines (worth 500 gp), a piece of alexandrite (worth 170 gp), a bag containing a dozen irregular freshwater pearls (worth 10 gp each), four pieces of silvery-blue quartz (worth 15 gp each), and the Drakesbane Horn.

Between the bric-a-brac on the carved shelf sit numerous stone tablets, each chiseled with archaic Giant runes.

Giant plus a DC 20 Linguistics check or magic such as comprehend languages:
The tablets contain Jogrothir’s thoughts on various events that took place during his life. Of particular note is one section that describes in great detail how Jogrothir first lit the fires of Minderhal’s Forge with dragon’s breath. While Jogrothir forced a dragon to breathe upon the forge, he later speculates that if the forge ever went cold, it might be possible to rekindle the forge by igniting the fire geodes with flame from a torch lit by a dragon’s breath, or even using the blood or glands of a fire-breathing dragon.

Droja pours water on the motes. She scrubs her flesh, but the motes will not wash off. She has a little old wine left in a wine skin. It is almost like vinegar. She tries to wash the motes off with it. That doesn't work either. "What are these accursed things on us?" The Half-Orc Oracle is almost in a panic.

Anyway Leira attempts focus on something else and scans the hoard with detect magic to see what is there.

@LeiraI can try? But as I told Anga I'm not a true dragon. But if we want to take one of the geods over there I will breath on it.

Guys don't forget that drake is still alive. I believe only Ulfgard knows it though.

Ulfgard slowly moves towards the dragon and prepares to kill the dragon for good. But as he hears Lairas words he stops for a moment?
"This one didn´t breath fire, didn´t it?"


A DC 20 Arcana check would get it. Leira rolled a DC 14 earlier. But the hints above give away what is needed to remove the effect. Leira's got it.


Anyway......

Leira recognizes the amulet as a Dragonfoe Amulet.

One of the potion bottles is a Elixir of Tumbling.

Another is a Potion of Spider Climb.

The scroll had the spell Poison on it.

The Heavy Pick is not magic, but it is masterworks.

The Dwarves in the party will be quick to note that the Battle Axe is made of Cold Iron. Chiseled near the hilt on one side are writings.

Dwarvish and Linguistics DC 15:
This is an ancient form of Dwarvish writings dating back before the Age of Darkness. It reads "Demon Drengi" or "Demon Slayer." It is interesting to note that the Dwarvish word for Demon is the same word in the Common Language.

It is a +3 Cold Iron Battle Axe.

By the way, the Drakesbane Horn radiates magic too.

And taking the horn as well the girl scans it with detect magic but quickly negates with her head "I have no idea... but perhaps this can be used to ignite the geodes? And... mmm... well if you Kaos cannot do it... perhaps the red dragon we defeated in the Cathedral... perhaps there is some glandulae on him that still retain the breath required to ignite the Forge" she hands the horn to Haskyll "Have you heard any legend about this one?"

I don't know what these spots are, will have to try a simple remove curse when I can. But I think it is a necrotic poison that was with the bite of the drake.

He then keeps Kaos lying down.

Lad, don't be stressing yourself right now, that fight took a lot out of you, and all of us.

Once everyone is inside the 30' circle from Haskyll he quickly channels

channel: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 1, 1, 6) = 15

Given a bit of time, Haskyll will look over the main items, while he figures what they will throw in the bags of holding.

Ulfgard is still down with the unconscious Spire Drake.

When Haskyll gathers those in the cave to channel some healing, he will know that once again his spell was not as effective.

Droja keeps picking at the motes almost in an obsessive way. When Leira mentions a curse, and Haskyll says it as well, Droja tries one on herself.

Droja cast Remove Curse on herself.

The motes dry up and flake off like a bad case of dandruff. Droja gets excited almost like a school girl finding out that a boy she likes, likes her too.

She goes to Haskyll and ask Gorum to remove his curse as well. And like Droja's the motes dry up.

Droja goes to Leira, then Anga, then the Dragon person and removes each of their afflictions. She then looks around, "We're missing a Dwarf." She says this like she has lost one of her sheep. She means no offense, it is just her way. Droja was so wrapped up in the motes on her flesh that she did not notice that Ulfgard was not up here in the cave.

Droja has one Remove Curse left for Ulfgard. In Pathfinder I prefer Sorcerers over Wizards because I can cast what I want. The Spell List is smaller but who cares when you can cast six Fireballs. Well, the Oracle is the same thing in the Divine world. Droja was able to cast six Remove Curses. Clerics at least still have the Channel Energy. That is a plus.
