1 person marked this as a favorite.

This will be a homebrew campaign set in the town of Sandpoint, Varisia that starts just before the Swallowtail Festival that kicks off Rise of the Runelords. The campaign may lead to a revised version of the AP, but I'm not sure yet.

-I'm looking for 6 characters.
-First level
-20 point buy
-2 Traits
-All official Paizo material is allowed. It doesn't have to be allowed in PFS.
-No Occult playtest characters.
-May or may not go mythic. Definitely up in the air and up to if the players want to go there or not.

The campaign will start with the players tracking down Jubrayl Vhiski and attempting to bring him to the Sandpoint sheriff for imprisonment and probably the gallows. Information gathering and stealth will be useful skills. Enemies and other challenges will be varied.

Is third party content allowed subject to GM review?

I'd be up for playing! I'd probably be most interested in playing an Oracle. Alternatively, a Swashbuckler. Probably a Oracle, though.
I need to sleep, but I'll get crunch done as quickly as possible.

Dotting for interest...

I'd be interested in joining. Would like to play an elven monk who is on the run from the Red Mantis clan and is hiding in Varisia or a dwarven bard researching the history of Varisia. He also passes on (ie., sells) information to a travelling merchant who unknown to him works for the Aspis Consortium.

Dotting, what's your stand on DSP stuff?

No 3pp stuff.

I'm interested in playing a Ninja/swashbuckler. Probably go swashbuckler at level 1.

dot.

Grand Lodge

I present to you Ib Brewleaf for consideration. A halfling in hunt of treasure and fun!

I'd like to submit this archer for your consideration. Here is the character and his story. If you approve, I can get the mechanics worked up according to your guidelines.

I like him.

Something I forgot to mention
-Starting gold equal to your character class.

Grand Lodge

How do you feel about kobolds?

I'm thinking of a kobold who has a love of chemicals and eccentric behavior. He works with the town guard as an investigator and semi-forensics on and off as needed, who gets to stay peacefully in town for his services, along with access to their resources.

Mechanically, he'd be a fighter who relies on a mixture of lobbing explosive alchemical weapons followed up by leaping into the fray with his spear. His chief gimmick is he's got an alchemical trick for every occasion.

Thank you, milady. I will get him statted up tonight.

I am fine with kobolds. They aren't major antagonists like goblins so it's not difficult to bring them in to the game.

when you say "starting gold equal to your character class" do you mean max, avg, or rolled?

Hi,

I could be interested, and would propose a character, but how do I find the details about the game?

Vocal/Text?
softwares
Game time
frequency
etc..

I used to play AD&D a long time ago. I am now returning to RPG and Pathfinder caught me.

All the best

Another question, if I may: if we can craft items, do the half-cost rules apply? (e.g. if we can craft an Acid Flask, can we get it for 5 gp instead of the usual 10?) I can make either way work, but how much I have available will determine how much it costs to get/make.

Thanks! :)

The game will by a play by post game on the site here. Pretty much it's post when you have the chance, but posting at least once a day or so keeps the game running smoother. Except for weekends. Weekends tend to be slow.

And I meant to say average starting gold for your character.

Crafting will be at full market price, unless you have something to reduce your crafting cost.

Will you allow racial archetypes with other races? I do not have an idea yet.

Dotting interest since another recruitment I was in just kicked the bucket.

I am interested in playing a twf style slayer specializing in battlefield intimidation tactics.

I would love to play a human Wizard if any spots are still open.

Years of d&d experience, depending on the party I would most likely be our crafter and in combat a controller.

Let me know if you would like to see a character rolled up.

Dot, will post a first draft in 2-3 hours.

Is knowledge/links to Sandpoint encouraged? I'm GMing a real life version of RotR at the moment and spent a long time learning my town NPCs

-Ib Brewleaf: Halfling Fighter
-Will Murder: Human Fighter (archer)
-Draxwile the Exile Kobold Fighter
-Clyde McClod Human Fighter

If I end up getting a lot of submissions. I will probably drop one or two of the fighters.

Nohwear-Racial archetypes for their intended race only.
NOTY-Knowledge and links to Sandpoint is definitely incouraged.

Can I get some entries that aren't fighters? I'm glad the Fighter is getting some love. I really am. But 4/6 characters as Fighters? Really?

The Sword is the Solution. The Sword is the Only Solution.

Darn; there goes my samurai build ;)

Is it at least the Cavalier type Samurai? I'm not opposed to a full team of martials as long as there is variety in the martials. (Yes, I know you're probably kidding. :P)

Silver Crusade

I can trade out this one for Ib if you will allow it.

Haha, yeah, I was just poking fun. I've just finished work so I'm heading home to throw together a couple of ideas, but I was thinking some kind of Samsaran because I've always wanted to play one.

I would love to play a kitsune sorcerer if you have room. I can get the crunch up later. Also how do you feel about the words of power system.

This is Illuthal, a Spirit Guide archetype Oracle.
I had the profile all filled out, formatted nicely, and then I hit a wrong button and lost it all. It's late, so I just filled in the bare necessities. I'll get the rest of it in and formatted better tomorrow before noon, hopefully.
Within the next few levels, he will have all knowledge skills as trained class skills, as well as access to a few hexes.

Ok, here are two basic crunch blocks for characters with zero flavour written but oozing with potential.

The first one is a Ratfllk Investigator who could focus on the investigation/knowledge role. He's has social issues as he doesn't realise that he's different to everyone else.

Second option is an Ifrit Sorcerer who takes after her ancestors in her propensity to dispense wishes. I really love the roleplay potential of a caster who won't cast unless her allies wish for it (although she isn't 'obligated' to grant wishes).

I'm partial to the Ratfolk Investigator over the Ifrit personally.

All slots are filled. I'll give you guys a chance to get your characters filled out and start the game a little later today.

And I was literally just about to post my crunch. Well, damn.

FYI, the basics of my crunch are available but I apparently got the stomach bug that is floating around, so I may be a little delayed completing the stats. It'll be up as soon as I am.

Meanwhile, I can Rp okay on my phone.

I will get my profile filled out

Here is the finished stat block for my Ratfolk Investigator. I'm filling out a rough backstory now, i'll keep it brief as I don't know enough about your campaign story and don't want to write in too deep :)

EDIT: Light backstory up.

Profile done!

Game on!

I think my character is completely finished :D

I think I'm all set to roll out!

I would love to play a kitsune enchanter. I will post a stat block later but will be a infiltration specialist with illusion back up.

zomblisham wrote:

The game has already started unfortunately.

It seems a player has dropped out, so I'm opening up recruitment for a replacement character. I'll be talking with the party to see who they want to let in. Recruitment guidelines are up at the top of the thread. We're still first level.

Our current party consists of
Chitteron Quink-Ratfolk Investigator (empiricist), our knowledge guy.
Clyde McClod-Human Fighter with Greataxe
Illuthal Tarun-Spirit Guide Oracle
Silverpaw Hawkstorm-Catfolk Destined Sorcerer
Willful "Will" Murder-Human Fighter Archer

Question,
you seem to have some non-core races, so perhaps you might be ok with a non-standard character. :) Shi here is a fun character to play, he's basically an unfettered eidelon. A summoner without the squishy caster bit. He was statted up for a game that died unfortunately due to player vanishing and GM RL complications.

Basically, he's a LG sneaky scout, who used to be a summoned partner to a paladin who was turned into an Antipaladin. Shi survived the experience still intact, and still works for the church off and on.

He's basically a sneaky thief type. Originally, the plan was for him to advance as an eidelon, but at levels he didn't get hit die, he'd gain a class level instead, as well as evolution points.

If not, I understand. Just thought a sneaky but good type might fit in well with your party (which seems to be missing a rogue type element).

I would be interested in joining with either a Half-Elf Ranger (Sky Stalker) or a Tiefling Witch (White-Haired Witch). I can make the build quickly depending on which you would prefer.

That is genuinely such a cool concept. "Extraplanar monster-thing, who just hung around longer than was needed" is getting stolen for one of comedy campaigns IRL now.

Many thanks.

*bow* You are welcome. :) It is a cool character to play. Also one who shows that LG does not mean boring or stuffy. Shi has quite the sense of humor. He also likes to chew on horseradish. :)

Works for me

Would Sailboat be welcome?
