Joza Fersig
"I'll get them," Joza nods to Warren as she quickly gathers up Voyla's dropped weapons and the rest of her gear. "I think that's everything. Let's hurry before anything else happens!"

Our valiant heroes decide for a tactical retreat, helping the poor feeble Voyla all the way.

An hour or so after entering the Echo woods, most of you hear something coming into the bushes.
You soon spot two mangy dogs, still in the distance.. They growl and lick their lips.
New map added: Forest Ambush
Davlamin Glimmergaunt
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Dav threw his hands up the air and screamed, "Oh the bloody Nine Hells now this!? Oh on and get out of here you mangy mongrels! Leave us the bloody Abyss alone!"
Hopefully that will scare away the dogs. :)
Joza Fersig
Can't edit the map, by the way.
Joza readies her bow and steps forward. "Let me see if I can scare them away first," she responds as she readies and fires an arrow near to the two dogs, deliberately missing.
Voyla Sloboda
Voyla, unconscious, makes her best impression as the damsel in distress. :D
Joza Fersig
Hey, maybe by aiming to miss, Joza will actually hit and wound a dog? ^^
Harhar :P
"I think they sense Voyla's weakness," Joza frowns as neither bravado nor closely-placed arrows can make the dogs back down completely. "Even if they won't approach directly, they'll likely shadow us until an opportunity presents itself to strike," she sighs as she readies another arrow and takes aim. "Best to put a stop to it now."
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 ;_;
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
DM Lil" Eschie
Told you to aim at a tree.. Now you would have one shooted a dog.^^
Init, Davlamin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Init, Joza: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Init, Zinli: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Filthy goblin dogs: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Everyone but Joza- and probably Voyla-can act
Voyla Sloboda
Voyla opens her eyes, showing fear.
Joza Fersig
*twiddles thumbs while waiting for her turn to come around again*
Zinli Steelworker
Zinli winced, moved forward, and shot the dog which was unlucky enough not to fall asleep:
"Aaawww, I usually like dogs..."
Move: 15 feet
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Davlamin Glimmergaunt
"It is best to let it go. We need to get back to the fort anyhow," Dav says.
Voyla Sloboda
Voyla smiles, and slowly nods.
Joza Fersig
Though Dav suggests letting the goblin dog flee Joza raises her bow one last time and takes aim at the retreating creature....
Attack (Longbow): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
"The wound from Zinli's gun-bow would likely fester or the beast might've been left crippled and slowly starved to death," she says as her shot hits home. "Even these creatures deserve some small mercy."
DM Lil" Eschie
The second dog is indeed hit by Joza's arrow, and stumble down, in a bloody heap..
The flithy beasts now eliminated, the rest of the treck back to the Fort is uneventless, if slow due to Voyla's condition.
You will need to rent a room at the inn, or find a quicker, and probably magical, way to restore the woman's health and strenght.
Joza Fersig
"I think we should take Voyla to one of the temples here...if we can afford to pay the priests for their time," Joza suggests as the group finally straggles into Fort Inevitable yet again.
Davlamin Glimmergaunt
Dav began to think.
"Hm....Never thought about it that way," the half-elf said to Joza.
"You are quite right Joza. Hopefully, the priests of Pharasma will help us. I actually prefer them over the priests of Abadar anyday."
Rahiv
Rahiv walked his way back to the Fort Inevitable in silence, he wasn't fond of doing what he had done to beasts but they were rather eager to kill one of his pack and that forced his hand.
He looked up to the others as they began to discuss. "I could offer her care, it's a rather simple process now that the poison seems to not be doing any more harm...the issue is the amount of time it will take to get her back to proper health. It could take a week or more. Hopefully one of the Priests will be willing to care for her in a quicker manner for a reasonable price." he said with some worry in his voice.
Joza Fersig
Sounds like a plan to me!
"Maybe we can offer what little treasure we've found in trade if it comes down to it," Joza suggests as she takes a moment to get her bearings before heading in the direction of the Pharasmin temple.
Joza Fersig
"Uh...we found her in the Spire, so we don't really know who her parents are or where they are," Joza adds, missing the context of the acolyte's questions entirely. "But she's awake so she can tell us if that's something we need to know?" she continues, looking a bit puzzled by the line of questioning.
Voyla Sloboda
Voyla smiles as sweetly as she is able.
"I feel very weak. My parents are dead. You can reach my sisters if you need to."
Davlamin Glimmergaunt
"Indeed. We were able to save her from the cultists dwelling in the Spire. We have learned some terrible things about there and well, I have some theories about what may be going on in there as well," the sorcerer said.
Dav began to explain to the priest about the goblins being cultists of the Mother of Monsters, and about the undead infesting the second floor, along with the strange spiders they had just fought. He also told the priest about his theory that the bandits, cultists, and undead were all in league with one another, and that there was the possiblity that they were working with something powerful enough to take out an entire squad of highly trained Hellknights.
"I may not care much for the Hellknights and their ways, but even I fear for their safety after coming up with my theories. While theories, I fear that we may have discovered a conspiracy to destroy this town and all who live here. I do hope that we can stop whatever evil has taken residence in the Emerald Spire," Davlamin said.
DM Lil" Eschie
The acolyte stops
Oh.. you mean you aren't miss Adrizi, coming for delivering your first baby? Sorry for the confusion. I was expecting someone...well, larger, but sometimes these things happen.
He barely listen to Davlamin, as a young woman, obviously pregnant and in pain, is carried by two sturdy men on what happen to be a table.
Sorry... I suppose you are the real Miss Adrizi?
The woman screams in pain
Put her in that corner. We'll take care of her.
The acolyte dashes to help to pregnant woman, pointing to Joza
You... come with me, please. I'll need your help.
Fortunatly for you, another priest, a woman comes. She seems to be blind, or at least to have a bad sight, as she holds a cane, and a hood is pushed down on her face.
You came to get helped, and then you come and are requested by Fate to help. Follow him, whoever you are. This is the will of Pharasma. I heard some one was hurt and poisoned? My name is Gabriella Faure.
Voyla Sloboda
Voyla smiles weakly.
Voyla Sloboda
"Very weak..."
Joza Fersig
"I, uh...okay, I'll do my best," Joza stammers, clearly not expecting to be called on to help with a childbirth - at least not a human one. But she'd seen plenty of Folk childbirths while growing up with her tribe.
Humans are a lot like the Folk, so this shouldn't be *that* different...
As the rest of the group are seen to by the newly-arrived priest, Joza hurries after the acolyte. "What do you need me to do?"
Davlamin Glimmergaunt
"I might be able to help as well. I was raised in a temple of Calistria," Dav said.
DM Lil" Eschie
The acolyte looks at Rahiv, and then at Joza
Why not? Do you have some knowledge in the healing arts, either of you? You will have to do what I say, when I say it. Soon, the labor will start.
.......................................................................
The healer tests Voyla's muscles, and says with compassion
I guess that if you came to the Temple, instead of getting in a bed to rest until the poison fades off, you are expecting some magical healing? It's quite costly, and you are so weak you'll need many spells... i'm not sure a dozen years of slavery to pay out your debt is what you want in live? Unless you are exceptionnaly rich, of course.
Lesser Restauration will cost 60 GP per spell giving you 1d4 STR back each time
Rahiv
Rahiv smiled as he walks along "I have some natural aptitude at healing, no formal training apart from the minor training I got with my tribe as a Shaman. It never hurts to see a trained acolyte at work to help one learn. I only did the magical kind for the most part during my servitude to the Hellknights..." he said going a bit quiet at the end.
Zinli Steelworker
"That's an awful lot of money," Zinli sighed. "I don't know about the others, but I have enough for one spell, Voyla, if it can make you feel better..."
Joza Fersig
"I've always been more of a tracker and hunter for my tribe than a healer," Joza admits, thankful that Rahiv volunteered to help as well. "But if you still need me to help just tell me what to do and I'll do my best to see it done."
Joza also has the cash for one Lesser Restoration too and would be happy to offer it.
Rahiv
Rahiv would've offered his purse before hand...there should be enough of his starting gold plus his share to get one more...
Rahiv smiled and chuckled "Come now, there is always time to learn. It should be the whole tribe's job to care for a soon to be mother. he said smiling, he hadn't had a joyous occasion to enjoy in some time and he was starting to get in the spirit of it.
Voyla Sloboda
Voyla face gets red.
"Sorry for the problem. Can I pay in other way? If not, I think is better for me to rest the poison off. It is too much money to spend on me."
