Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur chuckles, "Can we at least do this outside?"

![]() |

"Yoah, there buddy. First this entity was in the halfling. Second if you kill her won't it just jump into another body? Do we have a protection from evil spell or something that will expel the spirit, or at least protect us? I don't think the answer is to kill her, what other options do we have?" Sable says in response to Oscar looking at his weapon.

Koldur of the Axe |

"Perhaps we should ask around on how to prevent said evil spirit from jumping around then." Koldur points out.

![]() |

Well it wasn't a problem before, Oscar you keep watch until I am rested. Then in the morning we will figure out what to do. Oscar you can detect evil and find out who has it if needed. With that said he pats Oscar on the shoulder before finding a place to rest since she is in his bed. He waits to hear what anyone has to say but soon walks away.

Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur nods to Oscar.
"I ll ask around here, maybe someone else would know." as he leaves
Turning to Sable, Koldur grins.
"Take my room to rest. I don't think i'll be using it any time soon. I'll head about the place to see if anyone has any idea how to contain a spirit."
Long shot but Diplomacy to gather Information 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Ernost Van'Dreick |

Koldur I had a horrible nightmare last night, people were screaming, there were fires, all sorts of bad stuff..." He drifts off in thought but pretty much just listens to anything you have to say. Then you ask him about containing a spirit and he delightfully surprises you, "You mean like a shaman or an exorcist? My pa always told us about a powerful old witch which communes with spirits, making a lot of them do her bidding. I never went that far South to see if it was true. If you want an exorcist there is Reverand Roger, a priest of Sarenrae on the liberal side if you know what I mean, but he knows his stuff. RR is down South in the plains, I can show you his place easy but it may take a few days to get there.

Koldur of the Axe |

"It was no dream, lad. It was all real. Are you sure you don't have seer blood in you perchance?" Koldur is rather surprised to hear this from the young man infront on him and his words take some time to reach his mind.
"A priest? Maybe we can interest him to come over here and stay instead....If you could be so kind as to point it out on our maps." Koldur begins as he starts looking through his packs.

Ernost Van'Dreick |

"No, nooo not me! Thank the gods. The Reverend is rather... What's the word... Devoted to his congregation and aren't that keen on outsiders. They are extremists and burn things in most of their rituals and daily life. It is creepy." Ernost says as he stops tip toeing around the subject and comes out with his opinions at the end.

Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur at this point is reminded why he didn't delve to deeply into divine worship as he strongly resists the urge to facepalm upon hearing what Ernost has to say.
"I thank you and am guessing I be needing to tell the others."

Ernost Van'Dreick |

"Your welcome, I will be getting ready then see to the horses." He says as he gets up to fix something for eating.

Reknar Heldergast |

In spite of everything, Reknar sleeps soundly, and wakes up in a good mood - after fitting his gear, he goes looking for his companions and breakfast.
Coming across Koldur, he salutes the dwarf - "Morning Koldur - were you up all night?"
Apologies for the slow return from vacations - work hammered me hard as soon as I stepped in the door... Let's get this moving :D

![]() |

"Morning Recknar, we are waiting on Oscar to tell us what he knows and how to act with Koldur's new information." Sable says.

GM Wolf |

Now the four of your group wait before Sable's room. Koldur passes along the information that he learned from Ernost as they wait for Oscar. Check it out up above.
Oscar finally turns his head away from the sleeping woman and begrudgeonly says, "She is no longer evil, what is this!"
Just at that moment the halfling turns around the corner and begins to slowly shamble toward the group almost as if still asleep.
Oscar shouts waking up Arden, HE IS ALIVE AND EVIL!!!" as he points at the halfling.

Sable reacts quickly drawing his blade and aiming it down the hall but waits for actions from the halfling.

Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur doesn't wait.
His body barrels past towards the halfling!
"This thing is playing games with us!"

Koldur of the Axe |

"We'll fix this. What that evil is. It's fled back into you." Koldur answers in his grave voice, not wanting to release the halfling now.

![]() |

Sable closes the door to his room and runs down the hall to the pinned halfling then harshly whispering, "Killing you will just bring more destruction, we need to know about this contract and how to end it. To the witch or the priest?" He asks the last question to Oscar, likely the one who would know what to do.

Koldur of the Axe |

"I'm sorry laddie but we might ahve to place restraints on you." Koldur says with a heavy heart even as he keeps his arm around the halfling.
Turning to the others,
"The map. Check it and see whom is closer. The priest I heard is more likely to burn then ask questions so I vote Witch if she's nearer."

Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur is apologetic as he obtains rope and ties the halfling up securely....

![]() |

"Go ahead and tell the dwarves if you like, I don't really know what is going on but if you want to tell them what little we think we know ho for it." Sable says as he finishes securing his gear to his horse.

Reknar Heldergast |

Reknar raises an eyebrow at the disregard their companions seem to be showing for their hosts, then moves off to meet with anyone he believes may be in charge of the dwarven stronghold - "You boys need to learn some manners, that's for sure" - the warrior grumbles.
Once he finds one:
"I don't think we have been introduced before - I am Reknar and I travel with some of your allies - Koldur, Oscar and Sable?" - he begins - "I don't know how best to explain this but... Some sort of entity, or malevolent influence seems to be roaming around your kip - we have tried to negate it, but it would seem we need the assistance of someone more knowledgeable in these matters than ourselves, so we are leaving to look for whomever may assist" - the man tries to explain - "This evil influence was detected by Oscar, and apparently seems to be able to move around from one host to another... We believe to have captured the one currently possessed, and we will be taking him to meet with someone skilled in the divine arts, hoping to terminate this threat permanently" - his recount is methodical, much like a military report - "Still, we want to warn you to stay alert, as others of your kin may become affected by this same 'presence' while we are away. If you keep an eye out for strange behaviours, and the guards at attention, we believe things should be fine - just wanted to let you know before we depart"

Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur once he has the halfling secured, following Reknar's suggstion though decides to gives the dwarves a far more in depth explanation. Seeking out the chief in this case, Koldur begins in dwarvish to give one.
"The fires were the cause of a some evil spirit able to switch physical hosts. We have it currenly contained in the body of another but it doesn't pay to be more wary. For all we know that spirt may attempt to hop into another. If any of you are of a divine bent, it might be useful."
Looking fondly at the developing Inn Koldur begins.
"The place has started to look sturdy like us. I hope to be back here to once more our travels here are done, I should think the lads should also be on the lookout for possible trade and have the men here setup for their trade. I do believe that there are untapped potential skills untapped here. Let it not be said that we do give the younger races a chance. Once the lands have being cleansed, we can look forward to more for everyone."

Reknar |

Which of the dwarves has been affected? We will set duties to three then. Does this have to do with the fire? You go take care of this then and keep me appraised." the old dwarf says a bit surprised.
"No dwarf as far as I am aware, only the halfling, and we are taking him with us" - Reknar retorts - "And you've got yourself a deal, we will keep you informed"
Not sure me and Koldur are talking to the same, but:
He stares back at Koldur as he speaks in a language he does not understand, shakes his head, grumbles something about teamwork, and waits for the conversation to finish without another word.

Koldur of the Axe |

lol sorry Reknar, Koldur goes directly to the dwarf in charge whether or its the same one, he'll also after you have gone for a quick shower to wash off the soot.

GM Wolf |

The old leader of the outpost gives both of you a hearty handshake and a slap on your shoulder, might be a little lower for Reknar then says, "Good excellent, between the two of you it feels like you have a strong handle on this situation. We will keep working Godspeed on your travels. Reknar don't be so glum more communication is better than less, I ain't some old lord not willing to listen."

Oscar Cray the III |

Great, then Let's get to traveling. The faster we can solve this, the better it is for everyone involved
everyone can hear the tension behind his voice. Apparently it is taking him a lot of efforts and strengths of will to remain "calm"

Ernost Van'Dreick |

Ernost dismounts and suggests, "Only take those that you need the rest of us can stay here. We don't want to spook them."

Reknar Heldergast |

"Indeed" - Reknar agrees with a nod and a chuckle - "Point taken"
--
Once they get close to the village, Reknar dismounts, and gets ready to follow.

Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur dismounts, glad to be off his aching bum.
"Aye, let us be off then."
