Gurrr Blaktalon |

Gurrr whispers "It smell wet in here... almost like swamp... me like it! but no like pugthings" Gurrr waits for the first half of the tribe to make headway into the temple before sneaking in behind them, ready to support, but from hiding.

*Kona |

"It should be fine." say Kona as he comes in "Greetings to the protector of the temple. We mean you no harm and wish to speak to you openly. Please show yourself so we can do that."

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

"It should be fine." say Kona as he comes in "Greetings to the protector of the temple. We mean you no harm and wish to speak to you openly. Please show yourself so we can do that."
what happened to 'lets go with that' and there are pugwampi's?
sorry guys I was waiting on Abdalrahman.Gnasher having joined Poresh in the building, 'What the blazes?' turns as Kona blurts out a greeting, Then quickly turning back trying to peer into the darkness to see if anyone responds.
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Poresh Nileesi Sukar |

"Where is the moisture coming from, allowing this moss to grow? That seems very odd." Poresh looks around for the source.
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Abdalrahman |

Apologies for the delay.
"Yes, I can make light as needed." and he holds out his hand, a small glowing orb appearing above it as he murmurs under his breath.
Later...
Abdalrahman joins Poresh and Gnasher, and whispers, "WHen you want light, let me know. I would not give away our presence unnecessarily."

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Not to worry, Poresh walked in with light on his spear which he is using to admire the artwork and Kona has alerted whoever is watching with his invitation to parlay with the pugwampis, so the jig is up.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Kona would much rather discuss things plainly. It saves everyone time and keeps things civil. If people choose not to be civil, then that's what the teeth and claws are for.
I'm certainly good with negotiations, or talking first, no problem at all.
But your previous comment was "Lets go with that", in reference to the two med. characters Joining Poresh and the three smaller characters sneaking in. During the discussion about tactics would have been the time for "Hey lets talk to them" not, after agreeing to be sneaky.
It causes your character to either appear; chaotic, selfish or dangerously foolish. I didn't get the impression originally that Kona was any of those.

Poresh Nileesi Sukar |

I wasn't really trying to just barge in. I was under the impression that the building was deserted so I entered. I'm definitely cool letting the sneaky ones do their thing where appropriate. Just give me the heads up. I'm ok retconning that sort of thing too since I usually try to push my posts forward.
@Kona no worries mate! :D

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

'Well no one answered, that's either a very good thing, or a very bad thing.' Gnasher looks at Kona and shrugs his shoulders. Then tapping Poresh on the shoulder he points to the chapel where they heard the footsteps and the whispering. "Poresh, shine light into chapel. Tribe look there." Then Gnasher heads to the chapel to have a look around.
on the Map I assume we entered into the building into the pillared area through one of the two holes in the wall on the north side. Gnasher will head up the stairs into the chapel and look around.
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
It appears to be abandoned. There are three doors to the South, and the chapel is clearly visible to the east.it is about 50 ft away, and past the edges of the light. There are alcoves to either side of the chapel entrance, you can't see into them from here. One of the doors to the South opens to a hall, the closest is closed and the farthest is too far to see whether it's open or not... The building is strangely cool. At least it's a reprieve from the heat of the sun.

Gurrr Blaktalon |

Gurrr will sneak in and poke around the alcoves in succession, checking them out, since the lack of light there won't be a problem for him.

North: This debris-laden chamber once held a shrine and wooden altar, but all of that was smashed decades ago by vandals. The ceiling here has remained intact over the
years, helping to preserve a huge bas-relief statue of a muscular humanoid man with a pointy beard gesturing toward a huge mountain in the background, his face a picture of mortal concern.
South:A similar statue adorns the eastern wall of this chamber, in this case with the bearded figure appearing on a hilltop to a group of robed pilgrims. The being holds up his hands, palms out, in a sign of peace. Though many of the faces and limbs on the bas-relief have been worn down or cut away, the expressions of those range from beatific to horrified
Ghurr notices a hidden door between the man's legs in the southern alcoves
As light shines in the chapel, the whispers die down, and a wave of unnatural luck flows over you Those near the Chapel are now in an aura of unluck
A short set of wide ceremonial steps leads down to a cavernous chapel in which the congregants would gather for sermons in
happier times. The vibrant orange and red starburst of Sarenrae still stands behind a film of rusted rainwater and dirt along the north wall overlooking the collapsed altar. Between the stairs and the altar stand dozens of old marble benches, many overturned and even more broken into two or more pieces. A wide walkway bisects the pews, leading directly to the raised altar. Here and there a few clumps of the original red carpet along this thoroughfare hang on against rot and neglect. Above the center of the chapel, dangling about ten feet from the floor, hangs a cluster of gnoll skulls in various stages of decay. Strung together like a ghoulish candelabra of twine and bone, the boulder-sized ornament hangs from the wooden rafters about twenty feet above the ground.
The Chapel seems haunted in the light bow shining apon it. The strange Candelabra jerks and jingles as you see a Pugwampi slide down the rope from the rafters. It curses at you in gnoll, before turning about and flashing you. Suddenly a myriad if cries from several other Pugwampi fill the room, and tiny arrows rain down

Ambush!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16->Abdalrahman
Ambush!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7->Abdalrahman
The arrows are far too tiny to Peirce the armor if the two unaware men...
Pugwampi Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Abdalrahman: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Gnasher: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
ghurr: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Poresh Nileesi Sukar |

So how many pugwampi can I see? The one who came down the rope plus how many others? And how far away are they? I'm guessing color spray isn't going to catch more than the one, is that right?

Poresh Nileesi Sukar |

Poresh addresses the pugwampi on the rope.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Heh I guess that's not going to work.

![]() |

It seems they do not care for your words, for they continue to attack, infact the one on the Chandelier curses at you and tosses something foul smelling Remember to roll twice and take lower for any d20 rolls
Pugwampi(ranged attack): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10-Poresh
Pugwampi(ranged attack): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15-Gnasher
Pugwampi(ranged attack): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5-Yrdex
Pugwampi(ranged attack): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18-Abdalrahman
Pugwampi(ranged attack): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10-Gnasher
Something foul(touch): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1-Poresh
The one on the Chandelier tosses the rot and it flies a little... Wide, instead hitting a statue and covering it with a smell of rot.
Arrows: 1d3 ⇒ 2-Poresh
Arrows: 1d3 ⇒ 3-Abdalrahman
The arrows that hit sting, like sharp needles.(continue)

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Seeing Kona go to the rope, Gnasher follows, drawing a chakram. "Kona has good idea, if pugwampis not come to tribe, tribe go to pugwampis." He then throws the chakram at the nearest pugwami.
move action: goes to same rope as Kona, draws a chakram as he moves. Attack: Chakram
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 or attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Gurrr Blaktalon |

Gurrr continues to remain stealthy, but approaches as close as he can to the combat, hoping to get in a position to attack one of the little buggers.. no map?

Gurrr Blaktalon |

can't seem to find it... any chance you can put a link to the map in your status or at the top of the page? thx

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

on the Map I assume we entered into the building into the pillared area through one of the two holes in the wall on the north side. Gnasher will head up the stairs into the chapel and look around.
I put it in one of my posts, if anyone is good at mapping maybe they could help DM waz up? with it

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

are we back at the top of the order?

Poresh Nileesi Sukar |

Poresh harnesses his inner strength, sending a magical bolt at the pugwampi on the chandelier.
Using 1 phrenic point to increase my magic missile die size.
magic missile: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Then he attempts to move back out of sight of the archers.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

Seeing the Pugwampi on the chandelier drop Gnasher looks from the chandelier to the rope he and Kona are near, to rafters where the Pugwampi are hiding. "Tribe need to find way into rafters."
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
is the rope, that Kona is about to detach attached to the chandelier, or something else? Also is there any way to get into the rafters where the Pugwampi are?

*Kona |

Escape Artist: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Kona struggled with the rope for a bit then snarled something in draconic
Assume he said something that forum rules will mot allow me to post.
"I will deal with the rope." he said to no one in particular.

Yrdex |

Yrdex retrieves his sling and spins it over his head. He locates a pugwampi in the rafters and takes aim.
Including +1 from Bless.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 1 = 18
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 = 12
So 12.
Don't forget the aura of unluck, Kona :)
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Gurrr Blaktalon |

not exactly sure where Gurrr is in all this, as there are no icons on the map, so just assuming he has caught up with the party by now...
Gurrr considers his options and decides to toss a grappling hook into the rafters to get up to the critter...
ranged attack?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
edit: oops, forgot it needs two rolls... here goes:
ranged attack?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
sigh... Gurrr does his best to dodge the grappling hook when it comes thudding down again...

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

'A ladder, no reason not to go to their level' Gnasher nods toward the ladder and tells Kona. "Kona keep working on rope, Gnasher go to ladder." Moving to the ladder, Gnasher begins to climb it.
not sure how far he is from the ladder, if it's than 30 ft. he will take two move actions and climb next round, if it is less than 30 ft. he will begin climbing this round.
does he need any climb rolls? (Just in case)
climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 or climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

*Kona |

Kona nods but does not turn his attention from his natural prey, the cunning rope. Since finesse did not work, he would try brutality.
I would like to cut the rope and hold onto it as it pulls me up to the rafters, then jump onto them once I'm up there.
Bite attack on the rope w/Power Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 231d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage Roll: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

![]() |

The rope snaps and the Chandelier falls apon the dead Pugwampi, crushing it as the rope holding it is cut.
The ladder may be old, but it is easy enough to climb, Gnasher makes it up into the rafters, where he notices that he is now in the choir balcony. Six Pugwampi are here with their bows . Apon seeing the Gnoll they screech and scream, afraid if the larger threat.

Gurrr Blaktalon |

Gurrr sees the others climbing the ladder and leaves his fallen grappling hook and rope to be collected later. He runs over to the ladder.

'Gnasher' Red Claw |

'Running, why do they always run.' Lulling his tongue in a Gnoll smile, Gnasher follows the pugwampi's.
does he get close enough to attack them, or do you need any skill rolls?
