Polina Orlov
"You know, Abbas, I'm rather quite inclined to agree with you." Leaving her crossbow aside for the moment, Polina takes a deep breath and recites a quick spell of blessing, granting herself and her new companions a minor boon for the next two minutes. Her raven then takes flight, soaring high over the group to gain a better vantage point, "We should introduce ourselves, though I suspect they will prove to be slavers at best, given they're headed south, further into the Stolen Lands, with a prisoner."
First combat action: Cast bless spell on the party (aside from poor Akvius) granting a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls for the next two minutes.
Abbas Garshta
"Yes, Polina. Let us see if the prisoner or the captures are the bandits here." Abbas says to Polina, and he guides his horse forward till he is within 100 feet of the men, then swiftly mutters a few words to Sarenrae and his hand glows slightly then dissipates. He hails the men and their prisoner, "hail and well met gentlemen. What have we here? I did not know that their was a lawgiver south of here that could judge this man."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Evard d'Garess
Evard is willing to give the new faces the benefit of his support, approaching with them, a few steps ahead, and appraises the men in the cart, appraising and scrutinizing them.
sense motive: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Robert Jones-DM-King Maker
The two men turn around their faces turn from laughter to shocked as they see the party standing before them. Their shock expressions turn serious as they draw their weapons and approach the party one of the bandits holding a long sword speaks "Move out of the way fools we escort this man to the stag lord, if you do not wish to join him in this cage step aside" the other bandit who carries a great Axe adds "If they do not I wont take them prisoner ill kill the all" he says with snarl
The two men are 10ft away from the party. and the cart is 10ft away from them. Evard you sense that they are serious in their intentions to attack you if you do not move out of the way
Abbas Garshta
Well, since we are going into combat !
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 never mind.....
Longbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 121d8 ⇒ 4
As combat starts, Abbas attempts to intimidate the opponents, but when that doesn't work, he simply shoots an arrow at the closest bandit.
Akvius_Sirthos
initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
With the captors now focused on the travelers, Akvius will try and shimmy out of the bonds that hold his hands. He also will try and look around for his gear (assuming he was stripped of it when he was bound)
escape artist: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Hopefully these rolls are not an indication of the kind of luck I can expect in the future. lol
Evard d'Garess
Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
If Evard wins Init, He'll ready an action to attack the first bandit to get into his range while blocking the rest of the party.
Readied attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
for 1d10 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 3 = 11 [ooc]If he looses Init, He'd just attack, preferably with his Bardiche, stepping back if he has to. If he can't step back he'll use a Unarmed Strike for 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
If any of them move from a square 10 ft away
AoO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
for 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 blegh...
Darruth
Since it is a surprise round Darruth will add his sneak attack to his first attack.
Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Darruth shoot another bolt at the other bandit and reloads.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2 x2=4
If I go before the bandits,it is another sneak attack
Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Polina Orlov
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Polina is a bit slow on the uptake as the others realize that these truly are bandits more quickly than her, but she focuses her magical abilities on trying to put the bandits to sleep, hopefully making it much easier to dispatch or capture them.
Assuming that she cast Bless during the surprise round, Polina casts a Sumber Hex on one of the two bandits, with a Will Save of DC 15, failure results in falling asleep for two rounds.
Kalima Raustald
|
Sorry for the delay, had a very busy work week.
Initiative Roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Kalima looks to the men and says, "I am Kalima Raustald, mighty Sorceress in these lands. And with a single spell I took down four men just like you. Surrender herself now lest you meet their fate."
Kalima re-positions herself in the surprise round to optimize her blast radius to hopefully cover as many bandits as possible with a burst of Color Spray without hitting any of her allies.
Robert Jones-DM-King Maker
The two bandits both descend on Evard and both slash at him. "I guess you choose the hardway" the one with the great axe screams clearly showing alot more love for combat than his friend
Bandit 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Bandit 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 201d12 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Akivus its a DC20 escape artist check to free yourself and a DC15 perception to notice your equipment
Evard d'Garess
As one blade cuts into Evard, he takes a step back then aims another swing at the more violent bandit.
Bardiche: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 1 = 23
for 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
"You can also choose the easy way and surrender," Evard says gritting through the pain. There's a big hole in Evard and unless that Colorspray or the Slumber hex hits the baddies, Evard may to need a heal... =P
Akvius_Sirthos
perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
escape artist: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Akvius, too preoccupied to notice his equipment, struggles to free him self, but only manages to release a sigh of frustration at the complicated knot binding him.
Robert Jones-DM-King Maker
Will Save bandit 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Will Save bandit 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Whats the DC for color spray Kalima?
Slumber Hex save Bandit 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
The first bandits eye begin to grow heavy as polinas hex causes him to fall into a deep sleep. He hits the ground with a thud but his companion does not seem to care and continues his assault.
Abbas Garshta
Longbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d8 ⇒ 2
"By Sarenrae Holy Fire, you will surrender or you will die!" Abbas tells the bandit that is still standing, and assuming he doesn't, Abbas shoots another arrow at him.
Kalima Raustald
|
Sorry for the delay, busy week
Kalima on her turn moves in such a way to cover as many as the bandits as she can in a 15 foot color spray. She then enchants magical words and a blast of colors fly over the foes. Each one has to make a Will Save, DC 15 or be affected by the spell.
Robert Jones-DM-King Maker
Bandit Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
The wave of color flows over the bandit but in his rage it simple anger hims further and he runs at the sorceress. "You'll pay for trying to put be down with your pathetic magic!" he charges at her and swings his mighty axe
Bandit 2 attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 121d12 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
The bandit charges towards Kalima giving him -2 AC this round and provoking an attack of opportunity from Evard
Kalima Raustald
|
Kalima is surprised that the Bandit was uneffected by her magical attack but fortunately the Bandit in his rage swings a clumsy blow that swings past her inches from her face.
(OOC: He rolled a natural 1 so even with a +11 to hit that's a miss)
On her next action she takes a 5 foot step back and says, "Pathetic you say. That's the jip of your combat style sir. How about you try another!"
She casts a 2nd Color spray at the angry bandit hoping it will knock him out this time.
Robert Jones-DM-King Maker
sorry didn't realise Evard was using a reach weapon you won't be in it then
bandit 2 Willsave: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
The spray of colour washes over the bandit and his eyes shine a bright rainbow colour and roll back in his head as he falls to the ground unconscious.
What you gonna do now they are both down? Should I bother rolling how long they will be unconscious for?
Abbas Garshta
"Let us tie them up securely, remove their weapons and armor, then wait till they wake" the priest of Sarenrae suggests. "Our charter says we can hang or kill those for unrepentant banditry. If they don't repent, then I will pass Sarenrae's and the courts judgement on them."
After they are tied up, stuff removed, Abbas will walk over to the cage, "and who are you, and what are you locked up for?"
Evard d'Garess
Next level is when I start the unarmed striking, in earnest. But right now, Reach is useful.
"It may behoove us to execute the more violent of the bandits now? We may not be able to deal with prisoners on this trek, but that one seemed less interested in fighting... Edvard says, taking rope and bind the less violent bandit so he can be questioned, gingerly, as not to break the sleep spell.
He does still suggest killing the one with the ax
Evard d'Garess
"He is likely an enemy of the Stag Lord, and as such a potential ally. Yet there is prudence in your cautiousness, Abbas." Evard says with a nod as he secures the bandits. Do we mind executing the nasty one that beat the snot out of me? =]
Evard hops up onto the cart and hunches down to the bound Tiefling's level asking, "Who are you and why are you bound?" The Aasimar's piercing eyes bore into Akvious, scrutinizing every detail, and looking for any hint of deception in his reply.
Akvius_Sirthos
"My name is Akvius Sirthos. I thank you for preventing whatever fate those 2 had in mind for me. I'm a simple proveyor of alchemical goods and potions. I had interest in opening a new shop, and was out here collecting herbs and components to craft some items with which to stock a new shop with. I may have suffered an effect of a strange new plant specimen, but as I search my memory, I have no idea how I came to be held in this cage. I awoke a few moments ago, very confused at my current predicament. In any case, it seems this land is best not travelled alone, and would be grateful to accompany you. I have other useful talents I can provide besides brewing and alchemy. Shall we strike an accord?"
Evard d'Garess
Evard stares longer, unblinking, then stands abruptly and makes a motion to Darruth. "I feel he is trustworthy enough. We cannot abandon him in these lands." Evard says. He also asks, "I am rather. . . severely injured and would truly appreciate if any have magic to mend wounds if you could assist me," pointing at the gash in his side where the axe sliced into him. "This is truly quite unpleasant.
Akvius_Sirthos
"I have just the thing for you in my belongings. A wand. It can cure your wounds. Allow me to gather my things and, assuming it is still there. I can use it on your injuries."
Evard d'Garess
"I would be most appreciative. We shall locate your belongings as we clean out this gear." Evard says.
"But first, let us address these men." THe bandits are bound and gagged and ready for questioning. Does anyone want to finish off either or both of them? Evard seems to think that the one that passed out first may be worth questioning, but is willing to speak to both.
Akvius_Sirthos
"Thank you, my new friends. Now let me see.." Akvius rummages through his pack and pulls out a shiny wand. "... Ah... Here it is. Relax a moment Sir d'Garess."
Akvius twist his wrist holding the wand and says.. "Facio, Voco, Ferre"
He then taps Evard lightly with the wand
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
"That doesn't seem to be good enough."
Akvius repeats the procedure...
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
"Maybe, just one more time."
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
"That's seems right. How do you feel now?"
