Man, I should sic weird talking statues on y'all more often. You're just chock-full of great ideas, aren't you?
Eben MacTeague

The cacklings of 'Grallak Kur' circle the air around Eben's actual position, like he was a musician playing an instrument of pure madness. Any fear he felt before has been subsumed by the thrill of potentially pulling off the most epic of cons... manipulating the thoughts and actions of a god. "Ah-heh-heh-heh. Heed not the mewlings of the so-called Wormgod. He seeks to burrow beneath your confidence and cause you to fall through the pit of your own divinity. That is what worms do. But it is not the living that need fear worms...they feast solely upon the flesh of the dead. No, the Wormgod is but a mortal man who managed to sip from the cup of creation and believes himself greater than he has a right. You, though... you are bound from the sinews of three true gods. When you rise, all the might of the heavens is yours to command! What can worms do next to that, but writhe at your feet?" With his reassurances in place, he drops the conciliatory tone from his voice and instead moves toward one of...cozening, almost. "Even now, he cannot act against you directly, you must know this! No, he must act through intermediaries. To prevent our communion here, he has placed guards above, devil-women, to keep your faithful from groveling before you. It took all our art to slip past them. Perhaps, though... perhaps you could show the worm what a true god can achieve. If you were to crush out his Slithering Angels, surely it would send a message, eh, oh lord? Ah-heh-heh-heh. Perhaps then the wormy one would learn not to interfere with the dreams of his betters..."

Dungeon Kobold
There is a long pause.
"Hm. Yes. Perhaps it is time to emerge from my lair, to give my enemies a taste of things to come. To show this wretched city that drives my followers to the caves and the marshes the strength of a...True God. You are wise indeed, Grallak Kur. Far wiser than that foolish bird."
The chamber begins to shake violently. Dust pours from the ceiling as ominous cracks emerge.
"If I must wait here in the vault another moment like just another of these common magical treasures, I will surely slaughter you all. And that would not be behavior befitting a god, would it?"
The "Overgod" sounds almost questioning towards 'Grallak Kur'.
Cuetzpalli
Common magical treasures?
Cuetzpalli starts looking around for treasure.
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36
Dungeon Kobold
Cuetzpalli
Cuetzpalli cautiously slides around the wall of the chamber to stand behind the Overgod, staying as far away from it physically as possible. Once he's behind it, he waits to see if it says or does anything. If it doesn't appear to notice or care, he examines the crack more closely while the others talk.
Take 20 on perception.
Farrukh Al`Khatel
I dunno if we have time for you take 20; it sounds like shit's about to go down.
"Right!" says Farrukh. "Wait, I mean, uh, no. That would not be befitting of a god, to slaughter his most faithful."
Cuetzpalli
Well I can at least get started? Hopefully?
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
Tanith watches in surprise as the creature reacts to Eben's ploy. "Isn't this a huge gamble?"
Dungeon Kobold
Yeah, the statue is basically right up against the wall. But Cuetzpalli can move in there and start investigating. I actually basically assumed he'd already searched real good, though—he really can't see any sort of mechanism. There might not be one.
Astraden Limhaare
"It is. I think Eben might be getting a little ahead of himself," Astraden says. "Or three big heads of Ebonself." She begins a chaotic series of hand signals, trying to catch Farrukh's attention, and unsure which direction Eben is even looking.
Bluff secret message: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 14 + 2 = 32
Eben MacTeague
"Ah-heh-heh-heh. A god's behavior is what that god wills it to be, no more, no less! But alas, I am already dead, lord. I was murdered by the same Kordite brute that slew the Faceless One. Only my strong connection to the spirit world alowed me to linger on unseen like this. But unseen, I see more than ever." This last comment is actually directed up and away from the Ebon Aspect and towards the wild gesticulations of Astraden. "But some things I see now, I choose not to see."
"So, it is true, oh Trinity of the Infinite, that you might slay Theldrick, now... and perhaps that might bring you a moment of pleasure. But where would it leave you after? As tiresomely single minded as he is, he remains the last of your priesthood left to carry forth your word. As limited in imagination as he is, as foul of odor, as unpleasant of visage... he alone can rebuild the faith. And without the faith of your minions, nourishing you upon your rise, will you even have the strength to remain ascendant for long? Perhaps that is how the wormgod seeks to gain a victory..." More extremely inappropriate cackling. "More undermining. I fear his agents have been at work. Tell me, what is this 'bird' you speak of?"
Zaℓamandra
Zalamandra is still massaging her forehead. "He keeps pulling cards, even when he's already winning . . . this is just like the Moonmeadow-three dragon ante fiasco. But losing a potential customer is not the greatest risk in this situation." She climbs up into the vertical shaft, taking cover.
Dungeon Kobold
There is another pause. The rumbling pauses a moment.
"Surely the Faceless One, who sees all within death, knows of the creature who came here... some nights ago? Many souls stank around her, and I could tell she had killed many through her foul life. All unfamiliar essences, of course, so she could not be this 'Kordite'. Otherwise, I would have sensed The Faceless One's essence in her, after all. And yours."
"She claimed to be one of the Faceless One's acolytes, but every question she answered was a lie or misdirection. Of course, I am not so easily fooled. And I could see that her words were being woven from afar—that she was being told what to say by someone else. It angered me. I humored her for a time, but when she asked me to tell her of the meaning of the silly scratchings above, I revealed to the bird its terrible folly. Woe to they that seek to use me as a cheap oracle!"
There is an unmistakable note of smug pride in the god's tone.
Astraden Limhaare
Astraden seems to consider the statue's explanation for a time. "A bird used as a messenger . . . It sounds like we're talking about a druid. The Bronzewooders always struck me as a little nihilist, to be honest. It could be someone like them interested in avolakia shit."
Knowledge (religion) about evil druids in Alhaster: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Cuetzpalli
Cuetzpalli sidles over to Astraden, and leans down to whisper in her ear. "Hey, there's a funny looking crack in the wall back there. I think there's a door with the treasure he was talking about behind it. Maybe."
Dungeon Kobold
Carina Viera
Carina is still deathly quiet, knowing better than to interrupt Eben when he's on a deception roll.
Astraden Limhaare
"Whoa, cool," Astraden's eyebrows raise. "Don't suppose the door opens inward?"
Cuetzpalli
"Whoa, cool," Astraden's eyebrows raise. "Don't suppose the door opens inward?"
"No clue, babe. Maybe you should check it out, this is more your thing. Or Farrukh."
Eben MacTeague
"No, my lord, none could ever call you 'cheap'. It will cost the world much when you rise, to be sure! ah he he he/. Do Theldrick's feet now trod upon the dust that was this deceitful bird's feathers and flesh? What a foolish creature, to think you would speak of the..." 'Grallak Kur's' voice pauses a moment, as Eben tries to remember the pronunciation of the only very recently described creatures... "Avolakia's scriptures to them. Such knowledge is only for your true faithful, such as Theldrick or myself..."
Astraden Limhaare
Astraden nods and disappears, after a short prayer. A moment later, the most acute of listeners can hear a whispering voice around where Zalamandra is standing.
Zaℓamandra
Zalamandra whispers something to Farrukh, crouching to keep at least part of her body covered by the lip of the shaft.

The Overgod doesn't have any visual awareness worth a damn. It might react if you move out of sight, but it won't notice if you're just meandering around.

"Hm. Well, I did not kill her. I simply put the creature to flight—she activated some sort of wand and vanished. She was clearly beneath my notice. But you are, of course, right, Grallak Kur. The, ah, Avakadlia scriptures are, of course, very, very secret. I would never share their meaning with anyone, of course. The Akolakvia scriptures are a matter only for my most trusted servants. I would not wish the secrets of Avakadu to fall into the wrong hands."
Astraden Limhaare
Sense Motive (good hope): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
"You can tell him that there's only like a 31% chance the statue even takes notice, too," Astraden says to Zalamandra, forgetting to whisper.
Farrukh Al`Khatel
Neat.
Farrukh welcomes the opportunity to let Eben do...whatever it is he's trying to do.
He moves over to look and feel at the wall/crack Cuetzpalli is inspecting.
What do I roll? Disable Device?
Eben MacTeague
When Eben's voice next speaks up, a lot of GrallaK Kur's insane mirth has vansihed from it, replaced by a palpable stone of disappointment. "...Right, lord. It is gratifying to know these secrets are safe here with you. You certainly could not possibly reveal them to any interested party." Invisibly, he casts his own message cantrip and sends it elsewhere.
Dungeon Kobold
There just isn't any kind of door whatsoever. If Farrukh had to guess, the hollow is meant to be accessed either by incorporeality or teleportation.
I'll get back in the swing of things soon. Still recovering from the holidays.

I'll get back in the swing of things soon. Still recovering from the holidays.
Farrukh shrugs and whispers back at Cuetzpalli.
"It's a crack in the wall, not a door. I could bust it open, but that sounds dangerous. Unless somebody can squeeze through small cracks like that, this is a bust."
Cuetzpalli
"I can't...Isn't there like teleporty magic or something?"
Astraden Limhaare
Perception: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 14 + 2 = 36
Astraden sneaks back down to where Cuetzpalli is floating and grabs his and Farrukh's shoulders, pulling them into a huddle. "Actually, I don't think teleportation will help here. You need to have actually seen the place where you teleport, and I don't think Zalamandra has any way to see through walls. I don't think either of us can make a person small, either. But Farrukh, would shaping the stone with magic work?" She passes him a scroll with "BEND ROCKS TO YOUR VERY MIND - IT REALLY WORKS!" written on the outside. (The scroll doesn't appear, though, until it leaves her possession, as she is still invisible.)
She air-walks down behind the statue and tries using the scroll to make an opening.
Scroll of stone shape is CL 5 and thus moves 15 cubic feet of rock.
Cuetzpalli
"She could just peek through the crack...Or that."
Zaℓamandra
Perception (good hope): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 = 19
Zalamandra doesn't hear the whispered conversation, but she does let out a little scoff when Astraden disappears. "I hope our invisible friends realize that I'm not going to be able to just grab them and teleport if things go south, here," she says to Carina and Tanith (at a conversational volume, so as to reduce the chance the Overgod Overhears). She clenches and unclenches her fist, unconsciously bunching up the edge of her cloak.
Dungeon Kobold
Dimension Door can just teleport you "in a direction", but Stone Shape works, too.
When Eben's voice next speaks up, a lot of GrallaK Kur's insane mirth has vanished from it, replaced by a palpable stone of disappointment. "...Right, lord. It is gratifying to know these secrets are safe here with you. You certainly could not possibly reveal them to any interested party."
There is a long pause. Very long. It feels like it goes on for a month or two, in fact. At last, the Overgod speaks. "Indeed not, Grallak Kur. Indeed not."
Behind it, the stone noisily grinds away, revealing a small chamber beyond. A wave of stagnant air hits Astraden, along with the cloying stench of mint. There are four large chests, as well as a large tome resting upon a pedestal.
"Everything is so strange..." the statue muses. "My senses grow muddier every day, and yet... clearer. I see the dead that hang around you, Theldrick, and your servants. I speak to ghosts, to the bird servants of far-off aberrations. So many killed. So many to be killed. Soon, the to-be-slain will shine as bright as the dead, and I will see. Finally, I will see this world I am destined to rule.
"I will see you, Grallak Kur, and understand why you feel alive, yet claim to be but a ghost.
"I will see the meaning of this pathetic Wormgod, and destroy it and the silver weaver, destroy all who claim my glory for themselves."
The cavern starts to shake. "And I will see why the vermin behind me, clawing up my sacred temple, is making my head RING with the laughter of a SOON-TO-DIE GOD."
Astraden's holy mask vibrates in time with the Overgod's hateful, overpowering voice. And it begins to grow hot.

Round 1: Everyone except Carina is up!
Eben MacTeague
Eben's voice speaks up one more time, now not even trying to imitate the tones of Grallak Kur: "Wait, before you go smiting that vermin, could you expand a little more on who the 'silver weaver' is for us? No? Ah, nevermind. GUYS, LET'S BE ATHEISTS." Eben's call to atheism washes over the ears of those nearby, filling them with renewed vigor in the face of the apparent upcoming divine assault. Almost simultaneously, the sound of a glass chime rings out, as an invisible rod gets an invisible button pressed.
Activating Inspire Courage as a move action, using rod of quicken to cast haste on party, and casting slow on the Overgod as a standard action, using an AP to save the slot for both spells. (DC 20 Will save to resist. In event of Spell Resistance: CL: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
No idea, really, how many rounds are left on any of these, but pretty sure they should all still be active, so...
Spells in effect: vocal alteration, glibness, good hope, moment of greatness, arcane concordance, gravity bow, cat's grace, shield, greater invisibility, falcon's aim, weapon of awe, haste (22 rounds), slow (22 rounds)
And to sum up what all that means: everyone gets + 2 morale on attacks, damage, saves, ability and skill checks. Everyone but Eben can double a morale bonus once before rolling. Within 30 feet of Eben, everyone gets +3 competence on attacks, damage, and saves vs. charms & fear. Everyone gets + 1 dodge to AC and Reflex saves, +1 to attacks, and all the other nifty things about being hasted. All arcane spellcasters within 10 feet of Eben have their spells automatically Extended and their spell save DCs boosted by 1.
OOC Actually, upon consideration (and map-fact-checking) nobody is close enough to Eben to benefit from haste as it is, so I'll add in a 5-foot step to bring Eben within 30 feet of Farrukh and... whatever else is right by the Overgod/door and make sure they're affected as well as myself.
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
”Speak for yourself!” Tanith laughs as he calls down Kord’s mighty blessing on himself and his companions granting all the presently brandished weapons a pulsing golden aura. ”Let’s see if we can kill this thing before it brings the whole city down around us.”
Standard for communal align weapon to give everyone aligned weapons - good. Swift for a fervored divine favor.
Edit: By everyone I mean everyone that isn’t Farrukh.
Cuetzpalli
Cuetzpalli enters his blood rage, and charges the statue. "Die for real you evil bastard!"
Kelmarchen (AS, PA, rage brut., reck. aban.): 1d20 + 29 + 2 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 29 + 2 + 3 + 1 = 422d6 + 41 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4) + 41 + 2 + 3 = 512d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4
AC is 28,12,11
Dungeon Kobold
No time to post piece-by-piece replies just yet, but suffice to say that Cuetzpalli's attack does hit, and Eben's spell does seem to fizzle.
Astraden Limhaare
Two minor things: Zalamandra doesn't have dimension door and Astraden is probably in range of haste if Farrukh is because stone shape is a touch spell.
Making a hissing sound with her teeth at the heat of her mask, Astraden bows her head a moment in prayer.
concentration: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37
She then looks up and shouts, "Yes, atheists!" and tosses her holy symbol to Farrukh. "Think fast!" The silver mask turns visible at a distance of about 3 feet from Farrukh's face, moving at moderately high velocity.
She draws one of her swords and says gravely, "Anti-god, don't forgive me for what I'm about to not do."
Good old prayer gives a +1 on attacks and damage to most of us I think. Setting a reminder to update my durations and stuff next time I have time, maybe in 30 hours.
Farrukh Al`Khatel
Farrukh catches the thrown mask and quickly drops it again.
"Is it going to explode or something?" he wonders, but doesn't dwell on it.
Conveniently close to the Overgod, Farrukh wastes little time in trying to cut it to pieces.
Tooth: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (20) + 18 = 38

Klaw: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32
Damage: 1d6 + 21 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 21 + (5) = 27
Klaw Haste: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 21 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 21 + (6) = 30
Klaw Iterative: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

Klaw Iterative 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 21 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 21 + (4) = 29
Ignore the second d6 on Klaw if he has any Electricity resistance. If it is struck by my shield (Klaw) it takes a -2 to AC until the end of my NEXT turn, so on the off chance it only has AC 18 or something the 16s hit.
Crit Confirm Tooth?: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (20) + 18 = 38

Eben MacTeague
Two minor things: Zalamandra doesn't have dimension door and Astraden is probably in range of haste if Farrukh is because stone shape is a touch spell.
That's what I figured, but then the map had Astraden hanging with the group and some other goblin-thingy (Grin?) down by the door, so I just went generic in my post. Astraden qualifies as 'whatever else', though!
Astraden Limhaare
Don't forget the -4 from squeezing, Farrukh! Just saying 'cause I'm counting on having to deal with it too.
Anyway, got this sorted now.
Round 1: Drop item in adjacent square (free action), cast prayer (standard action), and draw weapon (move action).
Owl's wisdom on Eben had 13 minutes total, given that I cast it before we got to Sinner's Sanctum and that we've been talking down here for like 13 minutes it's probably expired.
Silence (special metamagic) on that scroll lasted just 13 rounds and has expired.
Communal air walk on the whole party has probably like 30 rounds left.
Shield of faith +4 on Eben has probably like 40 rounds left. Also on Eben: Bear's endurance has 39, death ward has 38, magic circle against evil has 1207.
Greater magic weapon on Tanith's bardiche has 7706 rounds.
Invisibility on Astraden has just ceased due to casting prayer. Which reminds me that the Overgod probably has SR CL: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Prayer has 13 rounds remaining. It should've caught Farrukh, Astraden, Grin, Cuetzpalli, the Overgod, and Eben based on the current map.
Zaℓamandra
Zalamandra gasps, then shouts down, "You two need to get the hell out of there! Grin, where'd you get off to?"
She flies down a little ways and inscribed a rune in the air, saying, "Förhasta!" Cuetzpalli, Tanith, and Carina all feel the effects of time-altering magic settling over them.
Also haste but from a slightly better vantage point.
Dungeon Kobold
Grin was missplaced, as I couldn't find Astraden's token and assumed (it having been a month for some dumb reason) that Gark had changed her image. He's where he originally was again.
Dungeon Kobold
Eben's voice speaks up one more time, now not even trying to imitate the tones of Grallak Kur: "Wait, before you go smiting that vermin, could you expand a little more on who the 'silver weaver' is for us? No? Ah, nevermind. GUYS, LET'S BE ATHEISTS."
"Ah, hm, well, yes, that sounds fair, the silver weaver is—WHAT?! ATHEISTS?!"
As Eben's spell washes over the Overgod, something curious happens: Its one green eye flashes a sickly shade of lavender. And again, as Astraden's prayer meets the statue's vast form, the eye seems to sparkle with brilliant violet energies.
"Ah... ha. Thank you, Not-Grallak Kur. You teach me one more lesson."
And Eben's form is consumed in violet fire.
Eben, save vs. slow, DC 19, same CL (unless it just counters haste; I can never remember how that works).
Cuetzpalli charges the Overgod, as the stone shell around the titanic being cracks away, revealing a form that is... like an unfinished being, a boiled egg cracked too soon. It releases a roar and receives the strike of Kelmarchen with savage, animalistic welcome. The holy blade cleaves through its monstrous form, and ichor sprays out everywhere, black and roiling like oil.
"Aha! Your blade and your soul reeks of destiny. So you are the one who killed Grallak Kur? You will be a worthy victim to my unlimited—OW!"
The being-that-calls-itself-a-god seems to look back at Farrukh, though it's hard to tell if it truly 'sees' him. It seems almost offended, and there is a striking air of contempt in its gaze.
"What do you think you're doing here, anyways?"
Round 1: The "Overgod"
The Overgod begins to shake in rage. It lets out another roar that turns into a monkey-like scream as its three hideous claws shift between insectile, raptor-like, and stranger forms. Its jaw unhinges as spider's mandibles burst from the roof of its maw, and it lunges for Cuetzpalli even as its form continues to shift and morph between thousands of bestial forms—and to heal its wounds.
At the same time, it begins to drum its feet—a steady, military march. Cracks streak up the walls and across the floor, including one terrible chasm in the floor which might be inconvenient if everyone in the room wasn't flying. It stops marching after only a few seconds, but Farrukh and Astraden see sigils on the rocks around them glowing crimson as though burning hot.
A moment later, with a terrible crack, a flail of glowing stone—its spines studded with steaming coals—breaks out from the rocks and lunges for Astraden.
Overgod Claw/Claw/Claw/Bite on Cuetzpalli (PA, bloodthirst of Erythnul): 1d20 + 37 ⇒ (3) + 37 = 401d20 + 37 ⇒ (4) + 37 = 411d20 + 37 ⇒ (3) + 37 = 401d20 + 39 ⇒ (2) + 39 = 41
Honorable mention for those dice doing everything in their power to save Cuetzpalli (short of rolling an actual 1, I mean).
Damage @Cuetzpalli (PA, bloodthirst, not account for mirror images if any): 1d6 + 21 ⇒ (2) + 21 = 231d6 + 21 ⇒ (2) + 21 = 231d6 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 243d6 + 35 ⇒ (5, 4, 4) + 35 = 48 Assuming all hits and no DR, that's a total of 118 damage.
Standard of Hextor on Astraden: 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (10) + 33 = 431d20 + 28 ⇒ (4) + 28 = 321d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 251d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19
Damage @Astraden (force): 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 121d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 81d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 101d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 Assuming all save the fumble hits and no DR, that's 30 damage.
As the Overgod's attacks slow, the rapid-fire shapeshifting seems to ebb and die to a slower pace, along with the healing. It is left panting, as though its overwhelming assault was difficult for it in some way.

From behind Zalamandra, Grin whistles. "Shit, man. Is that Erythnul or something? I used to be super into him in my younger days. Had a bloody shrine and everything. Every hobgoblin kid has 'that phase', y'know?"
The disembodied voice keeps rambling over the sounds of combat and screaming. "So, most of my buffs are touchy, and your big sword guy just ran over to what I'm gonna strategically term 'The Bad Side of the Room', so... oh, hey, you don't have a belt, do you?" Carina feels a hand tap her arm. "Big Six, Miss Viera. Gotta look into it."
Carina has cat's grace cast on her, giving her a +4 bonus to Dexterity.
