It's very difficult to pinpoint the source of the sound. At one time it sounds as if it is right beside you, the next it could be thirty feet away.
As Davos walks to the center of the room the sound stops abruptly and an uncomfortable hush descends. Suddenly there is a rush of clicking and scratching and out of one of the mounds scurries an enormous ant, its mandibles chattering together, its black eyes seemingly dead like those of a shark.

"Well that was a close one... but it sounds like it's not over yet, let's try and keep together."
He then bends down and pulls his dagger out of the ant.
"Maybe we can try and trigger more to pop out and take them out before they get too close i don't want to be over run."
He then looks around the floor for any rocks.

Despite their aggression, the ants aren't able to successfully hit any of the party.
Drazhak moves with apparent ease across the rough floor and attacks the Soldier Ant menacing Davos. His axe lands solidly but is deflected by the smooth shell of the ant's tought armour.
Gelbor and Domingo land solid strikes on either ant but they remain as viscous as ever while both Kennos and Davos miss with their ranged efforts.

Domingo slices the head clean off one of the ants, sending ichor spurting into the air.
Drazhak, Davos and Gelbor combine in a furious assault on the soldier ant, sword, axe and spell felling the foe.
And yet the nest still pours forth it's contents. Another 3 ants spill out of the mounds to attack!
