Don Domingo Delagroza
Despite his several deep wounds Domingo seems almost happy. Cleaning his sword he sheathes it and turns to the others.
that was a good fight my friends, we handled ourselves well. Though this sticky stuff was a major problem, it felt like I was fighting the vile stuff and her. Most inconvienient , but it made the contest more enjoyable I am thinking.
Domingo looks around at his friends and he can see they have all had a rough time in this fight.
how is everyone holding up? I think we will need to find somewhere to rest before we carry on. We aren't in the best shape.
Domingo watches as Draz summons the power of his god and he can feel the wound in his shoulder close up, the deeper wound above his hip however continues to bleed.
you have my thanks Draz, I will need to take my last healing potion if we go on, I'm bleeding heavily.
Drazhak Grimbold
Drazhak claps Domingo on the shoulder. "You are a worthy blade-brother. As indeed are you all. We make a good team. I agree that rest would benefit us all, but am wary that we know not yet how many more foes lie in wait around the next corner. If you still require healing, I can call on the power of my god once more. Then perhaps we can at least secure this level of the Crow."
Kennos Slynt
Kennos stares for a moment as if shell shocked,
He then seems to snap out of it
sorry friends, that's the first time I've killed anyone well a person anyway. What did you say?
kennos gets up still soaked in the blood of the tower girl and walks over and picks his whip up

Drazhak looks at Kennos. "I undestand your feelings, but remember this my friend. These were base creatures, even though human I fear if roles were reversed she would have shown you even less mercy. Guilt at causing the death of another is a natural reaction, but take comfort in the fact that these were criminals in league with those vile rat creatures. " He then spreads his hands and slowly spins around as he speaks, gesturing at the passages around them. "We all could use some rest, but look around. This chamber has a few exits. It would be foolish to rest here when we don't know what is beyond this area. At least if we explored the rest of this level we could find a more suitable place to rest, where a single entrance could be guarded. Here we could be attacked from three sides. I know some of you are hurting and I will do my best to ease those wounds once we have found a more secure place. Shall we vote on it? I say we push on for just a little while longer."
Perhaps to attempt to sway the vote, or just out of kindness Drazhak conentrates once more and calls forth the healing powers granted him by his deity.

He turns to Dom. "I understnd your point of view and you can use your potion as you see fit my friend, but most of you are hurt and this power is best used when we are not engaged in combat."
Gelbor Halus
Gelbor surveys the situation making sure there are no more threats before putting his dagger and sword sword away. He then check's the body's for any useful gear.
"Good job everyone that was a surprise. But we have to carry on, I have a potion if anyone needs it but one of them got away and we have to find her. We're sta.." He then hesitates. "A vote of course, i vote we move on."
He then looks around at all the dead."This is the life of an adventurer Slynt. Kill or be killed. They tried to sway us, i tried to get them to stop but they wanted us dead."
He then move around the room checking each way out to see how far they run.

I know my friends it was my first time, I'm just worried by how much I enjoyed it, the thrill the adrenaline it was like nothing I ever felt in the arena. But yes this isn't the best room to rest in maybe we should move on. These girls got anything of use on them?
Kennos gathers himself and wipes the blood off his face with a cloth
okay gelbor I'm with you

You can see that the South corridor branches off to the South East after a distance of about one hundred feet. About halfway down is an opening into a larger room.
Area B16
Two tables of planks and trestles have been set up in here, and a large alcove holds the ashes and soot stains of many recent fires, along with an incredibly well-detailed and preserved stone statue of a beautiful woman wielding a ranseur. A hooded lantern burns atop one of the tables.
Kennos Slynt
Kennos stops for a moment when gelbor checks the room out
actually let's stop them getting away this time, maybe if we take one alive we can question her about this place
Kennos puts his whip away and gets out a tanglefoot bag
Don Domingo Delagroza
ok Draz, good point lets patch up and get moving
Domingo pulls off his torn armour, whilst the others are talking and ties a stripnof cloth around the deep wound in his side before he dons the tower girls clearly better quality armour.
I'm taking the master work studded leader if that's ok
As the others move off he falls in beside Kennos there is little in this world that matches the thrill of battle Kennos, but be wary it is addictive my friend

The statue is of exceptional quality. You all study it intently, noting the lifelike curves and expression of assured confidence on the lady's face.
There is a table in the centre of the room with places fir three set. It seems the Tower Girls were eating a meal of thin gruel washed down with fiery Varisian whiskey when the alarm was raised.
Drazhak Grimbold
Drazhak looks around the room. "Looks like we interrupted dinner lads. Hope we didn't leave an unpleasant taste in their mouths!" He chuckles to himself.
He examines the statue more closely. This is excellent crafstmanship.
Any other exits from this room?
Don Domingo Delagroza
Domingo laughs out loud,
you have a wicked sense of humour for a cleric Draz, I must admit I could get to like your church , it must be pretty lively there if they are all like you
Moving across the room to get a good look at the impressive statue.
the ancients who made this must have been a great people, I've never seen anything like it. It is so lifelike, I'm half afraid it's going to lunge at me with that sword.

There are no other exits from this room.
The corridor from which you entered this room runs south and then south east. A small, empty room, probably a store room at one time, is off to one side. It holds nothing of interest any more and the corridor ends shortly after at another long set of stairs which continue to descend into the Crow.
Map Updated although not much to see.

Davos looking at the statue when a sudden look springs across his face, Davos reaches into his satchel and removes his note book and make a few notes
"For those who are interested this statue is of Alaznist, the Runelord of Wrath".

Drazhak nods his agreement. "Yes, this could be a good place. We can fortify it by blocking some of the exit with the tables. That way, we have cover from anything trying to advance on us from the lower level. Even if they did it would not be done easily or quietly. But should we first make sure we have cehcked this entire level?"
Were there other exits from the room where we had the big fight? We should check those as well.
Turning to study the statue with Davos. "That is fascinating indeed. Do you know anything more of this Runelord Alaznist?"
Don Domingo Delagroza
if I'm honest I'm not really sure what a Rune lord is? We're they gods Davos?
Taking a strip of jerky from his pack he begins to eat the tough meat and offers some to the others.
i agree Draz we should check the rest of this level first before resting. Anyone want some?
Davos Bixby
"Well know one knows how Alaznist looks there is a few statues of her but she is seen as a beautiful women. She has been known also to modify her troops by magical means, no one is sure how she done that."
Davos turns to Dom
"In total there was seven runes lords who each was a master of the arcane magic, each one had one of the shards from the shattered star of Xin. They were very powerful people but not gods."
Davos takes some of the meat from Dom
"Thank you very much for this most needed."
Drazhak Grimbold
"I am set, thank you Dom." The Dwarf reaches into his backpack and brings out his trail rations: dried fruit and heavily seasoned jerked meat, he eats sseveral handfuls along with a small dense bread cake. He washes it down with water from his skin then belches loudly.
Drazhak Grimbold
"I think that is wise. Let us return to the room where we last battled and then decide which exit to investigate. If I remember, there was one to the North and one to the East."
Assuming everyone is in agreement, Drazhak heads back to the other room.

Area B20
The corridor seems to turn East and run parallel to the exterior wall of the Crow. A couple of empty rooms briefly catch your attention but you eventually make your way round to a larger chamber that shows more recent signs of habitation.
A dozen bedrolls occupy this large chamber, and a few pieces of crude wooden furniture have been set up between them - a couple of scavenged chairs, a bench, and a short table. Torches mounted on brackets in each wall burn merrily.
A door, seemingly fashioned from pieces of scrap wood stands closed and barred on one wall.
Gelbor Halus
Gelbor takes his time moving into this room, hoping not to be caught in an ambush again. He points to the door making sure people behind him knows where he's going then heads to the door and takes a closer look at it.

Drazhak takes up position directly opposite the door, about 10' away. "Gelbor, I have an idea. Dom and I can take up position here, readied for action." He motions with his axe for Dom to join him. "You can throw the door open and duck to one side, Kennos can take position on the other side of the doorway. That way when you throw the door open, anything there will see Dom an I and charge us. You two can cut them down from the side as they come through the door. Between us we will crush them as if bweteen hammer and anvil. Davos can back us up with his magic."
He turns to Dom. "If nothing comes through, you and I can charge in. Perhaps we can catch whatever is there by surprise."
Drazhak stands with his axe readied and his shield in front of his torso. His evyes peering over it's rim.
Don Domingo Delagroza
Domingo moves beside Draz and nods, quietly he says
sounds like a plan to me lets do it.
Readying himself for whatever lay beyond the door, he turns slightly side on in the classic attack stance.
Drazhak Grimbold
As he waits for the others to take position, Drazhak stares at the door over the rim of his sheild. His body poised in the stance taken up by thousands of Dwarves over thousands of battles throughout history. The classic front line defensive stance: legs set; body slightly crouched and leaning forward with his left leg slightly advanced. Almost square-on, his sheild held across his torso with just his eyes and the top of his helm showing over the rim; his axe held slightly aloft and poised ready to strike. In such a position the front line of a Dwarven army can withstand almost any onslaught.
Abadar, guide my hand and ensure my comrades remain unharmed He silently prays.

Through watering eyes you look into the room.
Sitting on a pile of filthy straw and rubbish is the biggest rat any of you have ever seen. Five feet long, with a massive distended belly, it glares at you with beady black eyes. A row of oozing teats line its underside and the whole thing is a mass of matted, mangy fur. It hisses at the sudden light that pours in and flecks of spittle fly out at you. Baring its rotten brown stumps of teeth and hunching back onto the stringy muscle of its rear legs, you can see how horrible it really is.
