A situation will arise where he could be convinced to use it/the amulet, but as of now, he sees them as things to be honored - put on a pedastel - not wielded/worn.

Technically, no, as it is only disabled, rather than helpless. It is, however, prone, so you can take the opportunity to give it a good smack.
Once it goes to negatives we could CDG, but it'll still regenerate eventually. I think the orcs are using it as a hunting dog.
If only you had some flammable liquids with which to set it on fire.
If we don't have any oil, we can just keep it at negatives while we deal with the orcs and then cover it with a pile of stuff that's too heavy for it to move. Entomb it alive until someone digs it out.

We find somewhere defensible, possibly the cliff? And kill them. They've got a hunting troll to sniff us out wherever we go. We need somewhere with a choke point where only one or two orcs can get at us at a time.

Wheatbeard is hoping to go for option 3 (as the game thread implies), knowing option 4 might happen concurrantly. I was waiting for Caedmon to post as it's been a week.
I have a suspicion as well that the troll escaped, and they're looking for him. But that could easily not be the case. And even if it is, upon finding him, they will be aware of the struggle even if they can't readily see tracks leading to us and may decide to look into it.
None of the options look good, but sneak attacking that size of a group seems especially foolish without some sort of assistance or trick. A bottle neck might work, or a way to split them up, or even turning a troll upon them if such a thing is possible.
