GM Mars |
Feel free to check in here and give a description of your characters. Right now, you've tagged onto a supply caravan making its way to Gundrun. (Unless one of you has the ship vanity, in which case you totally get there by ship.) You'll be meeting with Venture Captain Jorsal of Lauterbury when you arrive. You may assume that your character knows anything that is listed in that Pathfinder Wiki article.
Hedra Dreamcaster |
Hedra is a beautiful human woman with eyes of different colors, black hair - loose on her shoulder - and of tanned skin. She's not very tall and she's clearly of chelaxian heritage.
She wore silken robes in brown and yellow tones of Sargavan's style, a small metal shield and at her side a beautiful broken longsword. On her neck a symbol with an flying open eye.
When she speaks, she's doing it with a melodious voice as beautiful and pure as an angel.
A tiny strange creature fly around her, an eye with tiny wings.
Sometimes, she seems to speak to her sword which respond...
Mr. Madison |
**Unless there are any objections I would like at least part of this caravan to be associated with the one I have a controlling interest in from my Caravan Boon. If you have a ship and would like to use that I will amend my post**
A man wearing a fine vest seems somewhat distracted by his thoughts, he has a short beard and wears a hat and glasses. His hair is dark brown but graying, especially in his beard. He is followed closely behind by a black cat.
He takes a moment to pause, kneels down and passes the cat a small treat, pats it on the head and stands back up. He brushes off his vest and looks more alert. He tries to take in his surroundings.
Disguise: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (14) + 24 = 38
A perception check that meets the above disguise check reveals that something is different about the man.
Mr. Madison |
Walks over to the Chelaxian woman
"Good lady, might I introduce my self, the name is Mr. Madison. Negotiations are my trade."
Tries to determine what the flying creature is:
Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Knowledge Planes untrained: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Hedra Dreamcaster |
Know. Plane DD12
Hedra smile at Mr Madison and said bowing to him.
Nice to meet you Mr Madison, I'm Hedra, cleric of Aroden. I'm a student of humanity and try to help rebuilt Aroden faith in the heart of the human community. To show them that Iomedae, dispite her qualities is not Aroden's alternate. more an usurper in my opinion If you need assistance or support, I'm here to help.
a voice came from her sword and said
eh ! Don't forget me ! I'm Gamin by the way. Nice to meet you Mr Madison. I'm a sword. Sorry, I can't shake hand nor hug you as I can't eat chocolate.
With a fake exasperated voice she said
Yes, excuse me Gamin, again. So Mr. Madison this is Gamin, my sword and this is Eye, a gift from my God who look after me.
Kargoth |
A powerfully build man of Kellid descent with dark hair and brown eyes falls in with the caravan guards, a panapoly of weapons strapped to his pack, and a shield slung over one shoulder. Looking at the various members of the guards, he then checks out each of other pathfinders, specifically looking at their rear ends, before saying "Hey, I'm Kargoth. None of you have tails, right?"
MichaelCullen |
"It is a pleasure to meet all of you." "May I introduce my friends as well."
Motioning to the black cat, who walks over, he says, "This is Mr. Smith".
Pointing to a bird cage on one of the wagons containing a hawk he says, "and that is Bright Eye." "While far from sentient they do make loyal companions."
Hedra Dreamcaster |
Nice to meet you Kargoth. Be Aroden guide and protect you in our mission.
And to answer your question, as a woman, I don't think so.
Said to Kargoth with a smile Hedra.
No I don't have tail ! I'm a sword ! said Gamin.
The flyng eye spoke and said in a strange language everyone understand
No. Eye. Don't. Have. Tail.
Hedra Dreamcaster |
Don't worry MC, we all have started one day ;)
If your post is less than 1 hour old, you can modify it.
The writing convention is to use the bold balise for speaking and the italic balise for the thoughts.
Kargoth |
to Mr. Madison, Kargoth says "I don't assume anything, but I just like to be sure. Monsters are sneaky, and like to stab you in the face while you're drinking a beer, or taking a nap. I don't like that, so I like to stab them first."
Mr. Madison |
To Kogarth Sometimes monsters can be turned around to stab our enemies in the face. But judging by our company if we do run across any that are not amenable to our needs I don't think they will last long enough to be an issue. I just ask that if I point one out that you attack it last. And if one of them says, it me Mr. Madison, believe it it is me.
Mr. Madison |
Mr. Madison continues as he looks Kogarth up and down. You look well prepared. Pointing at the variety of weapons. Which one of these is your favorite?
I may have to charm this guy when he is not looking.
Kargoth |
"Good question. I don't really have a favorite per se. I just tend to use the tool at hand. I have cold iron, silver, and adamantine arrows, and my sword is adamantine, my hammer is silver, and my spear is cold iron. Given that we're headed towards the worldwound, I'll probably be using my spear a lot." Kargoth will draw out a flask and offer some to Mr. Madison after taking a swig. "how bout you? what do you do?"
Mr. Madison |
The Caravan carries a variety of supplies, but as we are heading towards a war zone it would be primarily food provisions, medical supplies, weapons and ammunition.
Killing a body affects the soul as well, it cleaves it from the body and sends it to the outer planes. If one can influence a mind or soul perhaps that fate is not immediately necessary. It is great power; just as the ability to take life is great power. It is not the power that is horrible but how one uses it.
Hedra Dreamcaster |
I agree with Mr Madison. With great power come great responsability. Mankind need rules to grow and prosper. Aroden gave it to us in the early days of humanity. Now He is somewhere, sleeping, waiting to be waking up again and fulfilling his last prophecy.
That's why we need to promote Order in this world to prepare it for His return.
Mr. Madison |
Mr. Madison walks over to a nearby wagon, brushes his pointer and middle finger across his eyes, mutters something and then touches the wagon. The wagon disappears from view. For example the wagon is still hear but it has disappeared from our senses. We will see it again in a few minutes but it remains very much here. I have tricked all of our minds. Now imagine what you could do if you could walk up to a monster undetected until you take a swing. My abilities are varied some are subtle, some are blunt.
Mr. Madison pulls out a sheet of paper, says a word or two, taps his heart and then falls over dead, still clasping the paper.
The black cat wanders over and stares at the body, then looks up at Kargoth.
Hedra Dreamcaster |
That's what Iomedae's church want you to believe ! Or His ennemies. He's somewhere, asleep. I'm a living proof that if we believe in Him he can respond to you.
One day, He will awake and once again, Humanity will shine.
Kargoth |
"In my homeland, or shamans can draw upon magic by talking to things that no one else can see. Are you so sure it's not the same thing? I mean, I don't know anything about that crap, but maybe you just want it to be so badly that the universe is taking pity on you?"
Hedra Dreamcaster |
I'm sure Kargoth. I learn how to call the healing power of Aroden. I know I'm not as powerfull as other cleric as I can't channel His holy energy. But it's because He's two weak to respond. And Now His Eye his upon me
The flying Eyes said in its strange voice Eye. Not. God. Nor. Part. Of. God. But. Eye. Knows. Spells.
Gamin said That's a good question lad ! But she seems to have some sort of healing power !
Hedra frown at her compagnons' comments and said fire in her heart. I'm sure Aroden respond to my prayers ! How could I touch people with His Blessing if not. And Baron Utilinus is himself a great cleric of Aroden and tell me I was too.
Kargoth |
"I dunno either way. I'm just saying that I like to trust things that I can touch. I heard this one guy I went through training say 'The gods are in heaven, and we're here on Golarion, and never the two shall meet'. Seems like a good philosophy, in my opinion." As Hedra didn't take the flask, Kargoth shrugged and then took another draw before closing it and putting it away.
Hedra Dreamcaster |
Hedra took a look at Mr Madison's body
Heal with Gamin guidance: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 11 + 1 = 28
He's right. I hope to meet him after my death, not before !
I can't die. said Gamin
Mr. Madison |
Defiantly looks dead. But as you look up the cat has drawn something in the dirt. It says, "My soul is in here - Mr. M"
With a sudden gasp Mr. Madison's eye open and he stands up. I can move my soul to other bodies as well if they are willing. It is not such a horrible thing to do. While in a willing body our souls are actually able to commune and we can understand each other on a completely different level. Is that so bad?
Hedra Dreamcaster |
Hedra looked at Kargoth You see, another of my colleague. Another proof of Aroden presence !
Then added to Mr. Madison
I hope you will not need my healing skills in this mission. But if it's the case you can count on it.
Kargoth |
"I think we'll probably need a lot of things before this trip is over. If I had to hazard a guess, we're probably headed into the worldwound. I mean, I know about fighting things from the abyss, so that's why I presume I'm here. Hedra is probably here cause she can heal, and Mr. Madison is probably here cause he knows about magic, which most demons seem to be able to use. I'd think that with a group going into the worldwound, we'd get 2-4 more people, but that's just me."
Mr. Madison |
I am glad to have one familiar with the Abyss, I fear we will be very near its clutching grasp.
As far as more people we may be picking them up on the way. There is at least a few more stops on the path.
Hedra Dreamcaster |
I have some knowledge about the planes and the Abyss and Eye can detect chaotic creature.
Yes. Eye. Can. Detect. Chaos. confirm the flying eye.
Grimnir Foehammer |
A loud snoring can be heard from a wagon as yall talk amongst yourselves.. At the mention of the dwarven beer you all here a loud snort, followed by some rummaging around before a squat figure jumps down from the wagon.. Standing before you all is a powerfully built dwarf with a red mohawk and tightly braided beard. Much of his figure is covered by his blackend fullplate armor, but you do notice holy symbol of Gorum tattooed on his right cheek.. He carries a greatsword across his back..
"Didna I hear somone talkn about the Firegut? If so I'll be a meeting them!" Rounding the wagon he takes a hard look at each one of you.. Can't make that disguise check, now anyways :) He finally notices the Kellid man holding the brew and he walks up.. "Names Grimnir Foehammer, Swordthane to The Lord in Iron! I'll have some of that brew if your still offerin.. Tell yea what I'll trade yea for one of these fine Taldan cigars!" He gives a slight nod to the rest of the party members..
Kargoth |
Kargoth nods to the dwarf, then pulls out and offers his flask to him "Nice to meet you, Grimnir. Name's Kargoth, that's Hedra, and that's Mr. Madison, who still hasn't mentioned a first name." Kargoth indicates each member as he names them. "We were just discussing our purpose for going north. You have any experience fighting demons?" Kargoth declines the offered cigar.
Grimnir Foehammer |
Grimnir shrugs about the cigar and light's it up, then takes a strong pull from the flask.. "I've had a bit on experience fighting the stinky bastards.. My last mission ran us quiet close to the wound searching for a forward basecamp for the society.. Slayed a few of the nasties in that one.."
Hedra Dreamcaster |
Nice to meet you Grimnir Foehammer.
As Kargoth said, I'm Hedra. I'm a follower of Aroden, god of Mankind. But even if you're a dwarf I will do all in the power Aroden gave me to survive this mission. He ! Don't forget me ! said Gamin
And this said Hedra showing her broken longsword is Gamin. It can help you to fight in case of need. And this she showed a flying winged eye is Eye. A gift from Aroden to look after me.
I'm. Eye. Nice. To. Meet. You. Grimnir. Even. If. You. Are. A. Chaotic. Creature.
Grimnir Foehammer |
"Nice to meetcha Hedra and likewise Mr. Madison"Looking to the sword. "Heh.. A talkin sword.. Never figured id see that one.. How ja come across that one?" As he ask the question he eyes the flying eye.. "You gots a problem with CHaotic creatures?"
Hedra Dreamcaster |
Chaos. Is. The. Problem. Order. Is. The. Remedy.
said the flying eye in its strange understandable voice.
Befor Hedra could respond Gamin answered I was held by a defrocked Paladin of Iomedae. Hedra took me and now I'm protecting her. As you may know the longsword is Aroden's weapon of choice. It seems adequate to be held by a cleric of Iomedae's patron, right ?
Yes, it is. I help a fellow Pathfinder finding a cure for its sleepwalking. As a reward he gave us his swo... Gamin added Hedra
