Bazzle thinks a moment. "That assumes we look like the safer team to back. I mean lets face is lots of people hate oppression but they love not hanging more."
Tarnagius Vashnarstill |
"That's true, but we don't even need to tell them who we are. We just check them out and either subtly support them or undermine them depending on what we find. If they're doing good then we just get them their little piece of power and leave them to their own devices."
DM Hell's Fox |
As the glasses clink together in toast, the world spins briefly to bring you back to the unknown, rotting lair of ghouls, moss creatures, and that strange singing. You remember that sickeningly sweet fetid stench combined with the earthy smell of mushrooms. Kethaera continues her song of courage to inspire the group as the ghouls charge forwards. Two of the dash towards Ederion bearing their jagged teeth like spear points, while the third one leaps over the other two in an attempt to tackle Ederion to the floor. Though their determination is unrelenting, these ghouls simply cannot contend with Ederion's perfect defense. He weaves around each attempted strike and watches as the aerial tackle misses by a mile.
Everyone's turn.

Bazzle Blast-hazard |
Bazzle moves to engage one of the ghouls.
Attack w/ flank: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 = 22
damage: 1d3 + 3 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 3 + (5, 5) = 14Disorienting the Ghoul its -2 on attacks, -4 on attacks against me for 1 round.
DM Hell's Fox |
With the ghouls distracted, Bazzle easily moves around to flank one. He digs his dagger into the tight, but fetid flesh and in a fluid motion cuts the creature's undead heart right out of its back. The heart splurts out black, coagulated blood upon each beat, but then falls still as the ghoul falls to the ground, clattering like a skeleton bound by nought but surface skin.
Everyone's turn except Bazzle.
Tarnagius Vashnarstill |
Tarnagius moves opposite the other one engaging Ederion and bashes it in the head.

DM Hell's Fox |
Tarnagius hits the ghoul in the absolute perfect place. Its skull caves in under Tarnagius' strength, squishing straight downwards into its neck. Both of its eyes burst from their sockets and roll around as the ghoul crumples into the wooden flooring.
Ederion |
"Messy, but definitely efficient" - Ederion nods in approval, then moves to engage the last ghoul.
There's only one left, correct Fox?

Seeing the warriors cleave through the undead flesh like paper, and also seeing how flipping far the last one is, which matters for a middle aged woman with a bad leg, Aster instead steps to Bazzle and touches his shoulder pushing healing into him.
clw: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
DM Hell's Fox |
Even more efficient is the neat little lunge forward that Ederion does with pinpoint accuracy. He pierces right through one of the ghoul's eyes and stabs into the center of its brain. After Ederion withdraws his blade, the ghoul gurgles for just a moment before it too falls to the ground.
Aster starts healing Bazzle as everything settles down.
End of combat
Tarnagius Vashnarstill |
Tarnagius moves to the door to where the singing is coming from and peeks in.
Not gonna bother sneaking since they no doubt heard all that.
I tracked my movement by Ms on the map, if there are any traps or anything.
Aster Cobblestone |
Aster will also wander about touching people with her wand to dish out additional healing.

DM Hell's Fox |
Thanks for tracking your movement, Tarnagius. Much appreciated.
Lit by two candles of silver wax is a very small room with a mouldy bed and chair. An aroma of sweet sweat fills Tarnagius' nostrils as his eyes lay upon the silky smooth rump of a woman, bent over and covered only by a small slip of fur loincloth.
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
This sight has stirred your sexual urges. Consider your actions as if you were under the effects of a Charm Person spell, but instead of a trusted friend, the woman is regarded as a potential mate.
Tarnagius Vashnarstill |
Oh good lord.
"Well then, I can't say I approve of your taste in decor, but candles show effort I'll give you that. Now if only I'd known in advance I'd have brought some wine..."
Tarnagius removes his cloak and helmet and begins unbuckling his gauntlets.
Ederion |
"Whew. Ugh. These things smell so bad," says Rexandi as the last ghoul falls.
Ederion follows after Tarnagius and the others, after cleaning the gore from his rapier with a ragged piece of clothing from the ghouls - "Definitely agreed"
"Well then, I can't say I approve of your taste in decor, but candles show effort I'll give you that. Now if only I'd known in advance I'd have brought some wine..."
Tarnagius removes his cloak and helmet and begins unbuckling his gauntlets.
"What now?"
Aster Cobblestone |
Aster from behind the rest, sees Tarnagius stripping off his outer bits. Tarnagius! What are you doing? she says with a surprised snap in her tone.
DM Hell's Fox |
Since Tarnagius wanted to just peek into the room, I'm considering the door to be only slightly open. If you want to take a look for yourself, you'll be subjected to the will save as well.
As Tarnagius begins to take off his armour, he notices a bit more of the room. He can make out in the faint candlelight the face of the woman bent over on the bed. A brunette covered in sweat that shimmers in the light. Her face is raised up, and her tongue sticks out in an expression of ecstasy. Her arms are spread out on either side of her... bound by rusted chains bolted to the walls. From the light shining upon her bareback, it's apparent that she isn't wearing a top of any kind.
"Oh baby" she purrs, "Have you come to give me my release?"
DM Hell's Fox |
"Oh Darling, there's no time for joking. You've got what it takes to set me free. Come in and take me."
Bazzle Blast-hazard |
Bazzle's comment makes no sense if he isn't seeing what's going on. Sooo.
Bazzle barely gets his comment about Tarn before he stutters.
Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
"Well we know your poison big guy."
DM Hell's Fox |
What Bazzle sees (in part from succeeding on the Will save and in part from his low-light vision) is a little bit different. Black bones of several skeletons worth litter the floor around the bed. A short blade sticks into one of the walls, and a small pile of regular bones lies beneath it. The woman in question has a red tinge to her skin, with a whip-like tail swaying in tune to her hips. Small bat-like wings protrude from her back, and two sizable horns stick out of her wavy brown locks. Scattered around the room are discarded items such as armour or weapons, all in various states of decay.
Bazzle Blast-hazard |
"I think its one of those lust demons or something. Those prudish Erastillians are always going on about getting into trouble if you sleep around too much. . . gotta give em this one."
Bazzle steps between the big man and the object of his desire. He hops up hoping to wave a hand in his face. "Look around man the armor and bones of her former lovers are litterally strewn about. She's the spider your the fly."
Bazzle calls out to the others. "Um anyone have an un-seduction magic."
DM Hell's Fox |
You identify this creature as a succubus, a demon of lust. You know that succubi use magic to enchant their prey, and that anyone who engages in sexual acts with a succubus will probably die.

After hearing Bazzle's description, Aster thinks and relates whatever she knows, starting with "DO NOT LET HIM PROCREATIVE WITH THE VILE THING!"
DM Hell's Fox |
You get a 3rd option as well, Aster.
Succubi have a large range of magic at their disposal. All of their spells are really difficult to resist, so do not underestimate their capabilities. In order for a succubus to cast a spell, she must either be able to look at her target, or her target must be looking at her.
Constant:
The only constant spell that a succubus uses is the Tongues spell, allowing her to talk with any intelligent creature.
At Will:
The following spells can be used by the succubus at any time without limit.
- Charm Monster
- Suggestion
- Detect Thoughts
- Vampiric Touch
- Hypnotism
Once per day:
These spells can each be used once until the following day.
- Dominate Monster
- Wall of Fire
Though a succubus is fairly nimble, she is mainly protected by a surprisingly durable skin. She is very skilled at resisting mind control and similar effects, while she's slightly more susceptible to spells that target one's hardiness. Be warned that she cannot be poisoned nor infected, and both fire and lightning do nothing against her. A succubus can resist some acid and frost abilities, but she is not quite immune. Even regular steel has limited effect on her. In order to bypass these resistances, one must either wield a blade of cold iron, or empower the weapon with divine power of the blessed celestial. Do be careful casting spells against a succubus, for she is naturally capable of dispelling them.
TLDR
High natural armor, some dexterity
Immune to poison, disease, fire, and electricity
Resists acid, cold, regular and magic weapons
Has spell resistance
Vulnerable to cold iron or good-aligned damage
Aster Cobblestone |
Offensive abilites? Yeah, why not
Ederion |
"Very well then" - Ederion grunts, then simply steps up to the thing and attacks - "No warnings for you - stop whatever it is you are doing. NOW"
I always buy a cold Iron weapon... Why the heck didn't I do it this time...?

Ederion dutifully wrenches open the door to confront the lust demon in order to help his new ally, but upon seeing the temptress in the flesh, his priorities wash away. This beautiful creature, chained up like a caged animal, is far too precious to kill. More so, Ederion remembers that he hasn't 'gotten some' for a very long time, and this could be the perfect opportunity to change that. As long as he can get the others away from her, including his new rival: Tarnagius.
Aster is also swayed by the beautiful behind, just like her male counterparts. Sure she knows all about Succubi, but that doesn't really matter. There's always been rumours of those who survive from the best sex of their lives, and rumour holds that those who do are forever blessed.
The only ones who manage to stay sane are Bazzle, Rexandi, and Kethaera (because she hasn't approached the door yet).
The succubus gleefully exclaims "You don't have to thrust your sword into me just yet if you don't want to. I'm perfectly willing to start with the pillow talk."
Then this could end up being a very confusing time for your character. Your character will still be lustful as though they were attracted to her. After everything is over, you may want your character to think about what happened. Was it just the magic, or was there more to it?
The succubus is not really adapted for outright fighting, but she does have a few tricks. Apart from her wickedly long nails that serve as claws, her tail also presents a threat. Be warned that those who are struck by her whip-like tail have been known to expose themselves in order to be struck again. They become addicted to the pain. A succubus doesn't have much strength to make horrendous wounds, but she is a finesse fighter with a little bit of sneak attack.

"Honey I can't stop my natural allure, I call it 'Eau de fauter'. It smells so good, doesn't it? I promise, it tastes even better. Would you like to do names first, or get right to the down and dirty?"
Bazzle Blast-hazard |
Bazzle calls back, "She caught another one. Um . . . judging from the corpses and the stuff lying around. She's not actually offering a good time."
Bazzle draws his daggers and addresses the temptress, "Drop the magic. You don't need the hassle. Let my boys go. You can go find another evil lair. Maybe near one of the Knightly Order barracks."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
DM Hell's Fox |
The succubus closes her eyes with a bit of a pained expression. "Perhaps I haven't been plain enough. I cannot drop my aura while I'm a b#$*@ in heat. If you spent gods know how many years trapped like this, I'm sure you'd be going crazy too. But since you have a proper head on your shoulders, perhaps you would like to negotiate? Threatening me will do you no good."
Bazzle Blast-hazard |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 Does she actually look trapped.

"So you're a prisoner . . . of who?"
Aster Cobblestone |
I assume aster can't roll again... plus she's just as um in heat as the others at this point.
Aster gave up on sex a long time ago. Her love not loving her, her getting old, a stumpy leg, and well not being the whole secretly not entirely human and all. All dampers the mood... But...
DM Hell's Fox |
You can roll for knowledge of demons in general, but not succubi specifically.
Bazzle knows that the succubus is indeed trapped, much to her chagrin. He can also figure that she's been surprisingly honest, well at least within her own agenda.
She replies "No one anymore. These shackles have kept me stuck here since the good days, and I haven't found anyone to take them off me. The last trio were utterly useless... The first time ever that I would rather have them do something other than take me. I have heard many things since that day, but you are only the second group to ever visit my bed."

Think think think Aster she mumbles to herself, trying desperately to not look at the bent over woman.

"C'mon, are you really trying to get your swerve on in the middle of a ruined dungeon?"
"I don't see where you get off lecturing people on chasing some goat tail, tiefling."
"Um anyone back there an expert on demons apparently in heat?"
"I'm willing to put in some field research and get back to you."

DM Hell's Fox |
Demons are a category of outsiders that inhabit a realm called The Abyss. When a mortal dies, their soul is judged by Pharasma and if they have lived a selfish and dishonourable life, they usually end up being sent to the Abyss. Despite common belief that the Abyss is a terrible and monstrous place, many actually aspire to enter it, for it combines selfish desires with absolute freedom. In the Abyss, one is free to have as much sex as they wish, eat as much as they want, or kill as many as they can. The only downside is that demons are usually cursed to never be satisfied, and therefore spend eternity craving their pleasure without satisfaction.
Like all outsiders, demons are capable of manifesting themselves in the material world, functioning much like a weaker clone. Though these manifestations can be numerous, they also get much weaker in large numbers, so most only use one at a time. Using these clones is advantageous to demons because it allows them to seek out mortal souls for consumption without risking their true form. Killing a manifestation only delays an outsider, who must remake their clone and send it back into the material world.
When a demon consumes a mortal soul, that soul does not get judged by Pharasma. It is absorbed by the demon to give it strength and nourishment, and the soul cannot be resurrected by anything short of a miracle or wish. Such souls can only be released by killing the true form of the demon who devoured it, at which point they are judged by Pharasma.
When dealing with a demon, one must understand that the demon is only interested in two things: Its craving, and the freedom to pursue that craving. They do not see others as being allies or enemies, simply those who aid it in pursuing its craving, and those who hinder it.

"Hi... um... I'm- I'm Aster Cobble-Cobblestone." Aster stammers inching closer to the chained demon, but doing her ever loving best not to look at the barely clothed curves that were making is her cheeks and nethers flush so brightly. "We can't have sex with you. Even if... NO even if, we can't! We'll die!!!" her dark eyes dart to the temptress causing a strained squeak from her lips as she makes eye contact, falling into the deep liquid pools, making her ache in all the right places.
Several seconds or minutes later "Wait, What was I -- Yes, um we can't leave you here either, helpless and - sigh - cause of.. well..." she gestures to the bones of past lovers. "… you being... a horrible um deplorable yummy deli---" she stamps her lame foot to get a spike of pain coursing through her, enough to finish a damned SENTENCE "Killer! You're a killer!!" Aster, that was a pleasure to read.
The succubus giggles with delight as Aster stammers. A sly smile crosses her face, and she eyes Aster in the most suggestive of fashions. "What a pleasure to meet you, Aster! You can call me Xyl (Zill). I'm a bit of a bad girl, but you can't blame me, can you? I was made this way. But you seem like a good woman, Aster. Would you like to purify me? Set me free so I can never harm another person? You may be risking your life, but think of all the mortals you would save from my deplorable yumminess."
Bazzle Blast-hazard |
Bazzle looks at Aster slackjawed and facepalms. "Oh come on!"

Aster finds herself nodding to poor delightful Xyl. Then, though barely listening to Bazzle, she suddenly realizes he is talking to Not just Her but Tarn and Elderion as well. Her eyes narrow like daggers at the gnome, her mouth in a surprised semi disgusted grimace "What? Them? With her? That's just ridi--"
She stops herself with some effort. Total and complete embarrassment overriding lust, just by an inch, but enough for her to lower her gaze and murmur, "Yes, maybe us three leaving the room would be wise. If just for a moment. If you need anything-" she speaks to Bazzle, but her eyes linger toward Xyl. "- please... oh mercy." That smile.

She dithers again, then says in an anguished tone, "Oh, why is there even a demon bound here? I didn't sign on for this to watch people screwing lust-demons!"
