Kayla - Black scorpion
init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Kayla had exited from the back (either door or window) and is sneaking around to approach from the outside.
not sure how long that will take (but Kayla can move full speed while using stealth)
DireMerc
All your checks to demoralise succeed but do not stack so they are still only shaken.
Kayla leaped over to were the quarters are and quickly grabbed her gear from her room.
I had intended to give each of you a private room but this map has shared rooms apparently. This is also not the manor in the AP exactly because that one was too small that If I blew it up it was all blurry so I made a new one using a similar manor map I had. The barons quarters are on the second floor in the little private room lets say, the door to east hall are were the smoke is coming out. Doing this took all my time for tonight will finish posting enemy actions tomorrow.
Taissa Hellseeker
Taissa catches Appula's eye during the fight and gives her a quick gesture to step over into flank when she can.
Cruor Venelli
Cruor growls towards Patronicus. "If we clear this rabble, we'll have support against this infamous bartender. And if the Archbaron isn't able to defend himself for a few minutes, is he worth saving?"
Appula del Arionne
I shimmy a half-step to the side, flanking my enemy across from Taissa, and strike, first to wound and frighten, then to kill!
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20, 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (3, 2) + 13 = 18
NB, the above is non-lethal damage. Assuming it's a hit, I get a free intimidate attempt
1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 25
Assuming success, I get a free attack (lethal damage this time)...[/dice]
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26, 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (4, 3) + 13 = 20
[OOC]although if that does not hit, the shaken ends
DireMerc
Ah since it actually isn't very clear the guys with the shields with the Cheliax symbol are the manor guards the guys with the hoods are the deputies, The girl with the red scarf is the sheriff and the other girl in front of her is Cimri
The guards attack
guard 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 171d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
guard 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 81d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
guard 3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 121d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
guard 4: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 231d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
1 hit on number 4
Cimri attacks dual kukri
cimri: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 101d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
cimri: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 151d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
no hits
Deputies damage from Taissa
deputy 1: 1d10 ⇒ 10 reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
deputy 2: 1d10 ⇒ 9 reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
deputy 3: 1d10 ⇒ 5 reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
deputy 4: 1d10 ⇒ 10 reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Sherif
sheriff: 1d10 ⇒ 2 reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
The spells proves very effective on the deputies but not so much on the sheriff.
Appula and Cruor each take down a deputy. (2 and 3 are down)
The sheriff sees the reinforcements and growls "no more time for this"
attack nonlethal battleaxe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 141d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
attack non lethal handaxe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 291d6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
confirm crit handaxe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 231d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
And she knocks Cimri unconscious
The deputies attack
Cruor and Appula
deputy 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 91d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
deputy 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 221d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Now your go
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20, 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (3, 2) + 13 = 18
NB, the above is non-lethal damage. Assuming it's a hit, I get a free intimidate attempt
1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 25
Assuming success, I get a free attack (lethal damage this time)...[/dice]
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26, 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (4, 3) + 13 = 20
Appula drops deputy number 4.
One deputy remains and the sheriff.
Rest of you can go.
Mercer & Corbie
Remember, the sheriff rolls every d20 twice and takes the worse result unless she makes a DC17 Will save versus Misfortune.
Mercer cackles as a move action to upkeep Misfortune if it stuck.
The he casts Blindness (DC17 Fort) on the Sheriff.
Cruor Venelli
If I understood correctly which deputies were brought down, I should not provoke attacks of opportunity. Moving to the square right of Taissa and below the Sheriff. My AC is back at 19.
Swiftly moving the massive armor, Cruor brings himself next to the sheriff, swinging his greatsword in a wide arc. "Don't speak of wasting time you don't have." he growls.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Damage: 2d6 + 21 ⇒ (1, 1) + 21 = 23
Critical confirmation: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Critical damage: 2d6 + 21 ⇒ (1, 1) + 21 = 23
Appula del Arionne
I step up to the cursed sheriff, and strike to wound. We want a prisoner to interrogate, after all..
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20, 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (3, 4) + 13 = 20
NB, the above is non-lethal damage. Assuming it's a hit, I get a free intimidate attempt
1d20 + 23 ⇒ (20) + 23 = 43
Assuming success, I get a free attack (lethal damage this time)...
1d20 ⇒ 9 that should be +10, sorry, 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (2, 3) + 13 = 18
although if that does not hit, the shaken ends
Patronicus Pendleloric VI
Patronicus would not break his stride as he continues towards the baron's room. His voice continuing to hold the same tone as he responds to his large companion.
"If the bartender you speak of is such a threat that you need help, than why is it that you expect the baron to be more capable than you?"
If Patronicus comes across the bartender with an standard action left, he'll attempt to demoralize his opponent twice. Once as a standard action and once as a swift action.
His opponent coming into view, Patronicus would stare them down with soulless gaze.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21
Intimidate: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 26
If both checks succeed, he'll use the second to deepen the first effect from shakened to frightened.
Cruor Venelli
Cruor snarls. "Don't mistake me for someone else. Had I faced that famed bartender, you can bet that only one would have walked out of that fight. To date, none of those who have crossed blades with me has loved to tell the tale."
Kayla - Black scorpion
still here, nobody answered me in discussion thread really, so not sure yet what action to take
who is who again? which are enemies (besides teh sheriff, and who is the were creature bartender?)
Kayla - Black scorpion
Thanks for the info, is there a way to the roof?
access to the roof....
Kayla quickly makes her way to the roof and begins to scan the area looking for the bartender.
perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
if she spots him...
Kayla moves to give chase covering her face to avoid being recognized.
If there is no roof access.... (that will have to be fixed later)
Kayla moves as quickly as possible to give chase of the bartender, leaping down to the first floor and heading the same way he went.
Kayla - Black scorpion
just was thinking an over head view to follow... but its all good anyway
Taissa Hellseeker
Sorry, I had a crazy week. I did post in the discussion to robot me if needed. But since I'm back, I'll robot myself.
Did Appula step into flank? It doesn't show on the map, but she did mention stepping in her post.
With a studied eye, she takes a moment to observe the sheriff and to focus Asmodeus' wrath against her. Like Appula, she strikes to disable, not kill. After all, somebody wanted a skin.
Move action for Studied target, swift action for bane. Striking for nonlethal.
attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
damage: 1d8 + 8 + 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 8 + (5, 4) + 1 = 20 1 point is fire damage
Edit: Damn.
DireMerc
The sheriff manages to avoid both swings from Appula
Patronicus runs into the destroyed wall and enters the library. There she notices several destroyed suits of armour and can see that the werebear bartender went up the stairs as his weight crushed several stairs. Soon after Kayla runs in after him and sees the same you both hear fighting upstairs The bartender is still near.
The sheriff steps away from you grabs Cimri and make a run for the nearby window moving with unnatural speed jumping trough it and landing outside. (5 foot step, move to pick up, move to move away with expeditious retreat which she cast prior to combat)
Seeing the sheriff flee the two remaining deputies drop their weapons and surrender.
The flames are started to show under the door to the east wing and the smoke is spreading into the hall.
Your go
Taissa Hellseeker
AoO: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
nonlethal damage: 1d8 + 8 + 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + (1, 4) + 1 = 15 1 point is fire damage
If we can't drop the Sheriff
"Dark Lord, give me speed to catch those who resist you!" She calls and hurls herself after the sheriff.
Casting Expeditious retreat advance. and moving out
-----
If we drop the Sheriff, then she turns to the nearest lackey.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
nonlethal damage: 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13 1 point is fire damage
intimidate: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Kayla - Black scorpion
Kayla moves as quickly and as quietly as her little legs can carry her. which is also rather surprisingly fast as she vanishes in the shadows heading up the stairs.
burn 1 Ki point to increase base speed by 20'
stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 24
fast stealth so I can move full speed with no stealth penalty
Cruor Venelli
Power Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Not expecting the sheriff to run away, Cruor's strike misses her. "COWARD!" he bellows at her, making a mental note to slaughter her at the first chance. He then runs towards Patronicus and Kayla, heading on the stairs with a roar.
Keeping bloodrage on, double move to get at least on the stairs.
DireMerc
Cruor and Taissa both missed her so far. The only damage the Sheriff took so far was 2 damage from your burning spell.
Also the deputies surrendered if that matters. The house guards that remain can secure them if you want to move on.
So far Appula still gets her AOO and her action and Mercer and Patronicus stil need to act.
Mercer & Corbie
Since there isn't a door into the Baron's quarters on this level and Mercer is feeling some urgency about saving the guy who pays the bills, Mercer swings his legs over the railing and drops to the ground floor of the manor. (onto the floor, not someone's head)
How bad could the falling damage be?
Appula del Arionne
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
Attempting to scar the Sheriff's cheek with an slave-mark of House del Arionne. She'll have a pretty scar...
"Be marked, coward!" I sneer, slashing my blade across the Sheriff's fleeing form - then I turn and dash for the stairs where I believe the Baron is already under assault.
Mercer & Corbie
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Mercer lands on his feet, albeit somewhat less than gracefully...
"After him." he cries, gesturing to the path of the werebear.
Patronicus Pendleloric VI
Apologies.
Patronicus stares the bartender down, seeking to intimidate him,
Swift action to intimidate.
Intimidate Check: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
before beginning his spellcastin. With arms waving and arcane words escaping his lips, he summons in a cloud of glittering dust in hopes of blinding his potentially intimidated foe.
Standard action to cast Glitterdust.
DireMerc
Patronicus arrives at the top of the stars and finds the Werebear in hybrid form banging relentlessly at the Baron who seems to be standing behind an invisible wall keeping him safe from attack (wall of force).
When you arrive the baron looks at you seeming irritated "It's about time! Remove this intruder would you!"
Patronicus creates a blinding field hoping to disable the old bear soldier. will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 but it fails.
At the same time Kayla comes into the room but stays hidden.
The werebear turns around and directs his fury at Patronicus swinging a mighty warhammer at him.
warhammer: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 271d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outside Taissa chases the former sheriff matching her speed (you both have expeditious retreat) but Taissa is gaining as the extra weigh of carrying someone is slowing her down a bit. (she has a 60 foot lead on you atm)
You can all go again.
Mercer appula and Cruor are still at the bottom of the stairs you can move up and make a single melee attack or cast a spell.
Patronicus is being threatened so be careful about that.
kayla is near the entrance and hidden but cannot move further into the room without being seen (don't think you can hide in plain sight).
Taissa can continue chasing or turn back.
Cruor Venelli
"Get back, you idiot!" Cruor shouts at Patronicus while running at the werebear and coming down with the mightiest swing he can muster.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 21 ⇒ (6, 3) + 21 = 30
Unless I mention otherwise, I'm always using my swift actions to activate Arcane Strike.
Mercer & Corbie
Mercer moves to the top of the stairs and hits the bear with a Misfortune hex (Will save DC:17).
"This is how you repay me after I bought the house a round?"
Patronicus Pendleloric VI
I should have asked, does he still seem to be under the effect?
Allowing the large man to take the front line, Patronicus moves behind him.
Free action to 5-foot step behind Cruor.
The new position granting him some semblance of temporary safety, Patronicus pulls forth a vial of devil blood as he starts to cast a spell. As it reaches it's end, he places a drop of the blood upon his skin to enact the magic.
Standard action to cast Infernal Healing.
Taissa Hellseeker
She races after the sheriff, swinging her mace with divinely-augmented fury. as she swings, she whispers, "One cannot flee from the First's wrath"
Move 60' and attack, using bane.
attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
nonlethal damage: 1d8 + 6 + 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + (3, 2) + 1 = 16 1 point is fire damage
free intimidate: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20
Kayla - Black scorpion
I don't have an updtaed map to see where Kayla is, but by the description there is no way for Kayla to get a sneak attack in from stealth... is that true? would entering the room auto negate stealth so not sneak? I am guessing that Kayla has been effectively pushed out of the way now?
Kayla - Black scorpion
With all the firepower engaging the bear, Kayla backs off, realizing that her contribution is not necessary at this time.
