Ah yes, rod, not wand. Shows how little I play spell casters. I never even thought of making liberal use of Guidance until a certain divine caster pumped the party up before combat in another game we're in.

It's glorious. GLORIOUS!

I never fell out of love with the idea of a villainous carriage driver. I think Vance was the first person in the recruitment thread who I decided absolutely, positively must be offered a spot.

Amatsu, if I recall, was the first submission - and my only hesitation was that I wasn't sure if the creepy Tian ghostly witch-woman would be as amazing in practice as she appeared in my imagination. (She totally is.)

And Justimar and Arruk I know from other games, giving me absolute proof they were excellent choices.

*sighs dreamily* I'm so lucky to have these players. This is wonderful.

Anyway! I will make my next post soon (it's a bit long and involved). In the meantime if Justimar wants to make a post about the amazing carriage (I love the name), feel free.

Yeah, it is a really inspired idea. I'm happy to see the execution has been as equally inspired, and this carriage - Arruk's a pretty simple recipe, but I have no clue what he thinks of that beautiful monstrosity.

Oh yeah, she's pulled off really nicely too. Someone said earlier that we represent different kinds of evil, and Amatsu's the stuff of nightmares evil. It is really cool.

I applied for the WotR game you both are in, and was informed after the selection by the GM that I just missed the cut. In talking with GM Clebsch about the choices he made, I said I knew he was getting a good player in Morphling, and told him what I am about to tell Justimar (but don't get a big head about it or anything): Franti the Fool is my absolute favorite submission that I've ever seen on these boards. I was very happy to see that Franti's player was selected for this game.

And of course, having gamed with Morphling, I new I had to apply for this game. I only apply for GMs any more, and my lofty expectations have been met and exceeded.

So, virtual hugs, everybody - I'm really enjoying your contributions!

It is funny, as Franti (my Jester) and Justimar play as exact opposites. Alignments are switched, one does strict planning, far-flung planning on my part, while Franti is literally first reaction impulses, not thinking of consequences. I am flattered, really, thank you.

This is a great group, literally incredible. I hope I can match the carriage introduction with my Eidolon's appearance. Stellar.

Yeah, I am really looking forward to that moment.

So, unfortunately for my post, I am leaving tomorrow for 3 days of Pathfinder at a local convention, so I spent tonight preparing for the games I'm GMing there, and haven't been able to get a post up for Hell's Vengeance yet, and it may have to wait until Monday (or over the weekend if I manage to find the time). Apologies!

Just letting everyone know, I was laid off on Friday so I've not had a chance to check my games for the last few days as I've been focusing on that.

I'll probably be able to post regularly again within a day or two, but it will have to wait until I have gotten my resume and everything together.

Update: No job yet. It's been good to take a short break from this campaign the last few weeks to have more attention on my job search but I will be booting this back up shortly as I have done the lion's share of the work on my resume and setting up appointments with various recruiting agencies.

Weekends are always hard for me but I will have a post up soon. Back into action!

I'm settling into my new schedule, so I should be good. Turns out I get paid to play with my phone between phone calls in this new job, so I should be plenty available.

Probably not good for the party / posting, but I don't think Justimar is quite at the point where he would visit the Ash House when he wasn't requested. He is definitely intrigued by every person there, and everyone he has worked with, but there is a sense of superiority and pride that isn't going anywhere for a bit.

Hmm, regardless, I'll have something up before the day is over and get him to the manor regardless.

Amatsu is truly terrifying. Quite novel really.


It's delightful. And this is a spectacular catch, mechanically speaking, as it is a one hit-die undead with the advanced template.

Late-Game Party Composition:

  • Justimar.
  • Justimar's Eidolon, The Chained Man.
  • 1 to 5 summoned somthings depending on what Justimar feels like having at a given moment.
  • Vance.
  • Vance's Carriage (Animated by Animate Object).
  • Arruk.
  • Arruk's cohort mage-servant purchased solely with the extra gold from protecting Justimar.
  • Amatsu.
  • Amatsu's spider summon, Yurei (but even scarier now).
  • Little Hime.
  • 1 to 20 Ghosts, depending on what Amatsu feels like having at a given moment.

Always a questionable idea, but we could split up and each take one of the decrees, or split the group in half and each team tackles two of them.

We might want to leave the ghost at home, that might go poorly with some people, especially as she was apparently a war hero? and this town has many veterans.


From the description, I'm not sure anyone would be able to recognize her, but I'm fine with leaving the ghost behind regardless; gotta have something to whip out for when we really need to start crushing the peasants.

With regards to splitting up the party, I worry about a character getting cornered with something they can't deal with or conversely someone getting left out from an encounter, so I'd vote stay together, but I'm fine with whatever everyone else wants to do.

Also it is, to be blunt, a gods-damned ghost. Assuming you can keep it under you control, yeah, peasants will be afraid and not stand a chance.

Staying together is definitely the safest move. Between the Sheriff and the Drunks at the bar, we might see a bit of battle.
