Im simply waiting on your fully formulated plan and for you guys to initiate. Then the Joy begins. Ill be up for another 5 hours or so. Checking in and out through out that time.

Jaquline "Jaq" Cho |

GM, Flynn? Would you mind checking over Jaq's sheet and see if I missed anything? I've still got to figure out damages and the like, but I have everything else. Also, I'd like to know if I'm being overly ambitious/overreaching with the skills I'd like to take (there the ones with 0 points and at the default.) I also would like to know if listing reference pages would clutter things too much. There's only a few things from the Ultra Tech book, the computer, displays, and the assault boots are all from that book. Everything else, with the exception of the gear given to us by the GM is in Basic Set book.
On another front, I still have to put her personality down on paper as well as her intended path and role, although I think that's probably obvious if you look at her skills.
Lastly, I really, really wish Paizo would let us load our own avatars, or at least provide a greater variety in the ones they provide. I'd like to have at least one lady in modern threads to pick from. :\
Anyway, everything's in the profile.
P.S. I've been keeping up with the gameplay, and I have to say, I'm digging it. I can't wait to jump in and join you guys.

Aurora, Your strength would allow you to use the 2d+1... the sw dmg is for leveraged items and larger weapons. Your attack is claws so it only applies the thrt Dmg.

Bringer of Stories |

We can use your dmg, but when I posted, I ended up with a 9...so we'll pretend that you rolled that instead. yeah. :P

Jaquline "Jaq" Cho |

Just wait, there's a reason I listed a bunch of skills with 0-points in them. Give her the time and resources (and skill points), and she'll have an army of robots and a few AIs to help her. It will be glorious.
"Oh, ya'll want 'em alive? Just a sec."
Sends in a couple of cheap surveillance drones to distract them.
"All ya gotta do is sneak up on 'em and listen to 'em squeal when ya clap 'em!"
Of course, if the team needs some backup, there's the assault and BDH loadouts that I'm working on.
Hmm. I wonder if the GM can be convinced to let her have a BAR or an M240 for those times when much butt needs kicking.

Dr. Flynn Carrigan |

Yeah... but if we had magic in this world, I could just cast Missile Shield on Gavin and let him punch these guys to death while their crossbows bounced off him harmlessly.
We're definitely all going to have our own usefulnesses.

Dr. Flynn Carrigan |

I'm guessing being a bear gives a big pile of HP, though... which means that she can shrug it off by morphing into a human and getting healed in that form.

Dr. Flynn Carrigan |

The ability specifically says she loses the same proportion of her HP (injury rounded up, I believe) in any form—which means healing in a smaller form is disproportionately useful for a morph. But I don't think I can effectively First Aid any forms other than human.

Dr. Flynn Carrigan |

Yeah... not to mention the fact that in a few levels (or currently, on a high-mana world) I could keep the whole party hasted.
Magic is neat, but in this setting it's never overpowering unless you go to the right world.

John Aldith Grigorii |

I orginally had this character a dabbling mage, but I decided to have him grow into those abilities. That's something I'm liking about this system. Growth seems smoother and more directed. Not like 'lol we beat that dragon, I guess I know more first level spells now'.
No offense to Pathfinder. Great system. There are just some stories that can't be told appropriately with it.

Dr. Flynn Carrigan |

Oh, I switched on my flashlight... but it's pointed away from us.
Also, John, I can totally tutor you too. Just remember that my school of magic, while easier to learn, also requires you to recite mathematics (or in Aurora's case spell out equations) as you cast spells.

John Aldith Grigorii |

I'm from the renaissance and I'm fairly well educated. I'm sure I've heard of Sir Isaac Newton. XD
You might could help me awaken my shadow abilities later too. We're getting a healthy dose of my story now. After this, my character will be all sorts of confused about himself in that regard. I'm fairly excited about it.

Sir Gavin D'Monteforte |

Yeah, I was thinking a hit to the vitals forced a consciousness check, reading the book I probably mistook it for the groin hit location.

Sir Gavin D'Monteforte |

Aurora: As a bear, aren't your hit points equal to your strength? With DR on top of that you should be fully conscious (though a little scorched).
And your new name shall be: Smoking Bear;)

Sir Gavin D'Monteforte |

No, no, not HT; Hit Points. Should be in the 20's.
In fourth edition, they uncoupled hitpoints from Health and made it a function of Strength (a change from earlier editions).

Bringer of Stories |

I'd like to make a request for a stat bar under each character.
HP, WILL, PER, Most used Defense, Influence Modifier. Thats all I need more readily available. It may benefit you to add your primary attack and dmg to the block as well.
This acceptable?

Jaquline "Jaq" Cho |

No problem form me. I'm going to be including what loadout Jaq has as well.
On another note. I've been doodling some reference images for various things. I've got her battle rifle done, but I can't find the file for it at the moment. I also did some work on some stuff she doesn't have yet, but I figured this would help with seeing if I can actually do what I have planned.

Aurora 01A-00W |

That is amazing Jaq!! Should get you to do a picture of Aurora for me...you have some amazing talents!!
@Gm-Would you want Aurora's base stats? As she can be almost anything (including adding pluses due to attractiveness, etc) not sure how to stat her out.

Jaquline "Jaq" Cho |

Thanks, I feel really, really out of practice, though. I used to be able to draw semi-realistic characters, and that's what I was trying with Jaq's sketch before giving up and going the cartoony route.
All of that said, I would not mind taking a crack at Aurora. Jaq's definitely going to find her interesting, and I have some ideas for her as well, I just need to know if she can interface with a computer like a USB keyboard. If she can. how would she fell about having her own little army?

Dr. Flynn Carrigan |

Yeah, with one caveat: Flynn will spend the next night recording as much astrological data as he can with his digital cameras and compass, so we can at least try to approximate the year. (If it's the present day from Astrological data, that's useful info, etc)

Dr. Flynn Carrigan |

Sorry we couldn't do more on your planet, though we'll be better prepared for the next one >.>
I can write up the report if you want (though I don't need to decide what's in it), because Flynn probably has the most writing-related skills (Naturalist, Parachronic Physics, Public Speaking, Teaching, History)

Dr. Flynn Carrigan |

So, here's what I've got.
-With astrological measurement and the ship's computer, we can determine the "astronomical" century or so (maybe more next time, once one of us trains in astronomy or downloads some dedicated software for it)
-Flynn can describe the outfits and weapons of the natives from his photographic memory, though this is going to be somewhat limited. Decent pears indicate likely some time in the last few thousand years, and knowing what the spearheads looked like with a little google/wikipedia equivalent can probably give us the "cultural" year to within 500 years or so.
-Cherokee language puts us in a limited region
-No magic
-A cultist prisoner who can be interrogated
It's too late now, but we should have taken a core from several the oldest trees we could find. With a dendrochronological database, we could (assuming historical weather patterns similar to homeworld) pinpoint the year to within ±10, assuming we were anywhere in the last 10,000 years. A different rainfall pattern would imply a parallel instead of an echo.
DEFINITELY getting a tree-core kit before our next mission. And translation software. >.>
