Here is the link when you decide on characters. No hurry

So reading through the bonus chronicle it is kind of interesting. I would definitely read through it before choosing. Sounds like you can gain the ability across six different characters or a buffed up version across 1-3 characters.

It is no biggie :) I enjoy running these. I had been looking to get into D&D for roughly 10 years but could never find a group. One of my friends always liked to DM it but he never once read a rulebook and would just make up stuff all the time. Never lived past level 3 which made it kind of unenjoyable. Especially when it made you confuse the rules like none other.

I'm enjoying this game. It has the right blend of goofy WTF with some occasional (and I'm sure accidental) good ideas from the dwarvesmoot.

I like that we blunder our way into rocking the giants back to Brobdingnag.

There is a new PFS three-scenario arc coming out soon (the first one is released on Wednesday). For a longer commitment like that, I would like to ensure I have a good group so I am opening it up to all of you first. If one of you implodes the Black Hole created will destroy the Paizo Message Boards ;)

I have a question for you.

I have a ranged player trying to counteract a wizard with multiple mirror images up (5 in this case) by closing his eyes to gain the Blinded condition and then stating he now has a 50% miss chance.

So effectively a 1:6 chance to hit, just became 1:2 by closing his eyes.

This seems to be a contentious topic on the Message Boards. Have you seen this before and how have you ruled it?

Here is what Developer (at the time) Sean K Reynolds has to say on the topic.

Thanks for any help and I hope you will forgive me trespassing, GM Tyranius ;)

I know EF has forbid that sort of meta gaming in one if his APs. Minimum, I would say a KN: arcana/Spellcraft DC15ish, to "know" that is a viable tactic?

I don't like the meta aspect. It seems rules legit but I would never use it. Also, If you have six taunting characters that you can distinguish via sound, then that seems different than one character you are trying to hear.

I've heard that it is legal via a strictly literal interpretation of the rules but I don't allow it in my home games and in PFS I try to talk them out of being cheesy. Sure, you have a 50% miss chance from being blind but you still don't know what image to aim for, right? So in my opinion closing their eyes only makes it worse, as it should, because they have a 1:6 chance of aiming at the right image and a 1:2 chance for firing blind. So I would still make them roll for images and blind miss chance, but in PFS you can't just enforce your own interpretation like that so I have to grit my teeth and let them do it but mentally I put them on my 'bad list'.

+1 to this. Torgan has ID'd the issue for me. At a certain point, you gotta think where the line for metagaming is. I just wouldn't want to do that.

(Besides the obvious fact that if you're a ranged combatant and you probably have multiple attacks, then you should be taking out multiple images for your team.)

What part of building a giant wooden yak with no settled plan on how to use it and then taking (making) the back door into the fort anyways-again with no real plan of what to do inside-and then bursting a dam to flood half the place sounds like chaos to you? You'll see in the end that it was all part of a grand dwarven scheme we manufactured from the start. Just wait. The elf won't even see it coming.

Mirror Image stuff...

Fighting blind to improve your chances against the spell seems a little cheesy, but I don't think a GM could forbid it in PFS, particularly since the spell specifically illustrates how it doesn't work against a blind attacker.

I'm on the fence about how to deal with it in a home game. On one hand, it seems to improve your chances of a hit, but it also makes this spell effectively, albeit briefly, as powerful as displacement or blindness. I would rule that closing one's eyes also makes you unaware of the images, so I wouldn't remove an image upon a near miss (reminder: the spell has an often overlooked clause that rules attacks that miss by less than 5 remove an image). It also potentially leaves the attacker briefly flat-footed, which could be exploited by clever foes.

Kraygan is pretty well outfitted, and is probably well above normal WBL. I'd still like to shop for potions, and maybe upgrade his AC if possible, but I can wait until we've better outfitted everyone else first, then work with what we have left.

One thing, If no one has any objections, I think I'd like to claim the victor's belt we have in our loot.

GM, two questions:

1. What about all the art, rugs, statues, etc, that was in the room with the manticores? I don't see them on the loot list. Was that too much to transport back? If we have some of it, what is the value?
2. Assuming we are next headed to the Mindspin Mountains, will we stop back in Trunau first?

Are you still fielding suggestions? I have a few:

Mounted Combat: like Cavaliers, Divine Commanders ignore armor penalties for the ride skill, so this might be worth it if you invest in a decent amount of ranks in ride, plus it leads to fun feats like Ride-by-Attack or Spirited Charge.
Extra Channel: if you think we need more healing. *note that it works a little differently with Warpriests.
Barroom Brawler: you mentioned cleave and improved sunder among those you are interested in - they are very situational, and this feat would let you grab either one, or any number of other combat feats temporarily to suit a situation.
Item Creation Feat: armor, weapons, wands or wondrous items?

1. Will assume that you made multiple trips to load up the boat. The yaks should have no problem carrying all of the gear. It is now on the loot list.

2. That is all up to you all. Trunau is on the way as the passage to the Mindspan Mountains is approximately 90 miles SW of Trunau.

Can everyone go over the loot list and confirm the items assigned to them? I think some items were given to players who didn't account for them (Vanderhoff has a ring of protection +1 and an amulet of natural armor +1, but neither are calculated in his AC).

We also have a suit of +1 half-plate that's collecting dust (I think it should also go to Vanderhoff).

Jorgan is still sporting a suit of mundane hide armor. Do hunters have druid restrictions for armor material?

I made a rough list of everything we might sell off (not including arrows, scrolls, or wands), and it looks like we'll have about 10,000 gold to split up.

I'm not sure they've been added somewhere on the loot list, but here are posts that list gold:
150gp from the manticore treasure room
90gp from Grenseldek's bodyguards
155gp from ogre reinforcements
150gp from General Karrguk
50gp from ogre archers - looks like there were two composite longbows (+5 str) they had also worth about 700gp each (350gp sell price)

Nope, I just didn't want to take a skill penalty at the moment but that's actually top of my list to upgrade now that we have money. Not sure if that 10 000 gp is total or not but eventually Jorgan would like a mithral breastplate (4200 gp). However, he could also get the same AC boost right now from a ring of protection +1 and an amulet of natural armor +1 for only 4000 gp total. Jorgan's AC is pretty pitiful but he's also got barkskin, so that helps quite a bit.

With the gold and those two longbows its around 11,000 total (not each).

If Jorgan doesn't like the flaming scimitar, we could add another 4150 to that.

Actually, after I typed that I got thinking that maybe I should just switch to using the scimitar as my primary weapon and pick up a shield. That would be a much cheaper way to boost my AC by an equivalent amount. Let me think about it a little more.

Male Dwarf Stableboy 14 | HP 146/170 | AC 30 T 14 FF 28 | CMD 29 (34 disarm, +2 w/ Spirit) | Fort +14 Ref +12 Will +11 (+2 poison/spells/SLA) | Init +6 | Perc +17 (+2 stonework)

Ok, so let's get Jorgan a +1 darkwood heavy shield instead. 1,257 gp total. That will be my big puchase. Maybe a couple scrolls too but I'll look at that later.
