I'll cover a couple hrs, I suppose the deaf ones won't be much use except for extra eyes, so they need paired with one who can hear. I'll double up if we need to, I'm stalwart when it comes to lack of sleep
He laughs and finishes throwing over the bucket of "chum"
looking to the halfling So how do we drop anchor and trim sail and all that? Just tell me what to do and my strong arms are yours! He looks to the crew I expect your help too! things maybe grim, but we'll figure something out with the light of day just you wait!
Ariston Nous
"Ha, that's the spirit, Gansukh. I'm also yours to command, Dristen - though I know nothing of ships. Direct me and I shall do my best to meet your orders. As for watches - if Gansukh can take more than one, I can as well. That being said... I'd be indebted if they were of the first few, rather than the middle of the night."
Dristen Dagger
Dristen shakes his head at both comments and hands over a piece of paper with this not hearing thing sucks . When they write there responses, Dristen says out loud:
To Gansukh: something to help with the ship and You are welcome to take more than one ship, the extra help is certainly needed.
To Ariston: something to help with the ship and you can certainly take a few early shifts. Dristen finds the 1 and 2 slips of paper that are left and hands them over. He also notes the shift number and Aristons name on his master sheet. you'll get to hang out with Haggin on the first shift, not sure who on the second shift though or who you'll be waking. I will let you know though when all this is figured out.
Gansukh-Omae
Walks over toward wald and sits down next to him
Is that your first time seeing someone die? It's a jolt for sure, but it won't be the first time. We need some experience, Dristen is an interesting fellow, but he's not the captain, that's you. He pauses to let it sink in We need someone with years of experience, and that's usually the 1st mate, and that was you until he died. Alot has changed and we need good advice and experience. Dristen is doing great, but we need you to step up and take the charge the captain had in trusted in you.
GM Immer
Filios successfully scales the crow's nest, though there is no sign of the raven. Similar to his findings, the crew's night is uneventful - except for one Wald.
While speaking to the first mate, Gansukh draws the little man's eyes as he sits next to him. His crying has ceased, and his eyes look red. As the warrior begins talking though, the mourner shakes his head and points to his ears. Walking to the side of the room, he pulls out an inkwell and a quill from a case with some parchment and hands them to Gansukh. While the warrior (presumably) writes, Wald makes his way to the nightstand and pulls out the two glasses. Then something rather bizarre happens: He begins ripping flesh out of the dead man's wound and squeezing blood into the cups. It is far from a clean process - there is much pulp in the juice, as it were.
Filios
Creepy stuff there.
Filios climbs down after looking out to sea in all directions for the bird and any signs of land.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Climb: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

Stares at the strange actions, not stopping the man for fear this maybe some strange burial custom he doesn't know about... he does after all come from a land where demons rule and flesh is a delicacy... He looks to the paper and writes more...
What are you doing? He thrusts the paper into Walds vision and stabs a finger into the sentence freshly printed
GM Immer

The first mate looks a bit put-off by the interruption, but he drops the flesh in his hand onto the captain's chest and picks up the quill. When he finishes writing, the instrument and parchment as well-bloodied.
Putting him to use, he writes.
No dice on the bird or land topside.
GM Immer
Canabilism though!? We have plenty of food, this is strange and disgusting man! Put it down and lets go get some air... start working get your mind off this
Wald replies: The man had secrets, and I intend to know what they are. You're welcome to go if this bothers you.
*******
Other than the conversation with Wald, does anyone feel like calling out special actions for the evening? I will move us along to the day (or possible fatal meteor which kills you all) if not.
Quiahar Chrilos
As soon as the bird is out of sight, Quiahar leaps (climbs, somersaults) back down to the deck, using the rigging to brace himself.
"What now? What can I do to help?"
Filios
I imagine that Filios would arrive on deck at the same time, or shortly thereafter Quiahar.
As he approaches the captain's Quarters, he opens the door and sees the ghastly scene.
What the...What gives Gansukh?
Haggin Goodfey
Before the time for his watch Haggin will seek out his female gnome counterpart and check to see that the events of the evening have not unsettled her too much. Unable to converse due to their loss of hearing, Haggin will bring a note:
Are you alright, my dear? You seem to be much more on edge that the rest of us, though being on edge is not a bad thing considering our circumstances. Is there anything I can do to help you?
GM Immer

Wald sees Filios walk in and spends little time writing something for his, thrusting the parchment into the rogue's hands. This man is disrupting the last rites for my captain. Please take him with you and leave us.
Filios
Filios reads the not aloud, and shakes his head.
How is desecration a final rite? I will not ask either of my companions to leave. You need to explain yourself further, First Mate Wald.
GM Immer

As he reads the parchment put in front of him, he responds. "No time. His energies diminish the longer the wait." Clearly, he meant business: Those present in the room hear ribs begin to snap as the Halfling works his way inside.
Gansukh-Omae
writes downI'll not interfere but this is a queer sort of thing and I will not let you do something evil by ignoring it, now go about your business if time is of import! hurry and ignore us, but we won't ignore you!
Saladraxis
Got so wrapped up in the unfolding drama with Gansuhk, I forgot to post actions of my own.
Sal reads the shift notes and scribbles out a note of her own.
I am more than comfortable drawing watch for the night. I sleep during the height of the day anyway.
Dristen Dagger
Dristen pulls the "5" paper out of the bunch. He notes the time on his master list and then writes a note on the paper.
You have the 5th watch, I'll let you know soon who to wake up and who you'll be with.
Dristen starts to hand it over and then notices the looking glass. He adds,
Can I borrow the looking glass? I have the dawn shift and want to find land so we can start on our way. He hands the paper over, waiting anxiously for a response.
GM Immer
As one of the glasses is filled with blood, sinew, and marrow, Wald stops digging. Wiping his hands on his trousers, he holds the cup in his right hand, moving his left in a circle a few inches above it.
1d100 ⇒ 39
"Pro eran L'gadar usar, menaloge Itu brabbat stol!"
With the last syllable, the room darkens slightly, then renews its luminosity - or what there was of it. However, the gore-laden goblet seems to glow slightly. The first mate takes a look around the glass, almost appraising it. Then he deftly gulps the mess down.
Ariston Nous
Ariston attempts to assist with minor tasks both above and below the deck. He thinks he does well - whether or not he actually did is questionable. When all his tasks are completed to his satisfaction, he heads towards Dristen and writes down a query. "Do you think the crew might want assistance with the anchor? I believe I'm up for that task, though trimming the sails might be beyond me."
GM Immer
Wald sets down the glass and heads to the parchment and quill. Though he begins writing, it is rather unintelligible. It's as if he didn't hear what Filios said at all, though it's possible he's just a very rude, very short person.
A blood mustache covers the sailor's face, and a dab of meat still rests upon his lips.
****************
A quick survey of those uninjured of the crew reveal:
Balo - The most forthcoming of them to help thus far. He is the first to assist with the topside work.
Rellington - A hairy 30-something of tanned skin and dark features with plenty of muscle but shortness of words.
Jeanne - Probably the most attractive woman remaining aboard, she complains incessantly about the headache she received during the wake. However, her deft hands have been helping find things their proper place with great efficiency.
Lymeea - This sailor dresses, lifts, and curses like a man. She's agreeable to requests for help, but her temper may run short at those inexperienced aboard a ship.
Haggin Goodfey
Haggin will go around the ship using Detect Magic and pick up where he left off, trying to locate any magical auras that he has not checked out yet, mainly on the deceased. He is still trying to determine if one of them may be a cause to the situation at hand.
GM Immer
Haggin finds only one magical aura among the deceased. Lady Plumwhisper apparently had some abjuration-enhanced undergarments. Goodfey surmises they are not likely the cause of whatever jaunt took hold of them, so the situation unfortunately remains a mystery. However, a cup of blood and sinew in the captain's quarters - beside a butchered Onaar at that - radiates moderate necromancy.
Wald doesn't respond to your statement, Gansukh, instead pointing to his ears. Assuming you write the information down, the following occurs:
"Well, why didn't you say so! I'll go fix them up right away!"
The Halfling makes his way above deck, announcing he has a cure for the deafness. Unfortunately, shouting probably isn't the best way to convey information to deaf people, so it takes a bit before the game of telephone gets everyone informed. Having only energy enough to remedy two crew of the affliction tonight, he leaves you to decide which are fixed-up. None of the crew with whom the party hitched a ride are afflicted, so it's just up to our heroes.
The rest of the night passes without incident until dawn. For those awake to see it, the sunrise over the gentle wavelets is quite beautiful.
Those which would be on deck in the morning may roll perception and initiative.
Dristen Dagger
I would absolutely volunteer right away. I would also try to give Wald a full report of the ship's happenings so far.
That's me and a crew member on deck at dawn. I'm assuming this is before I have an hour to meditate and prepare my spells?
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Haggin Goodfey
Haggin will give way to letting Sal regain her hearing before he does, however he will be present when the halfling does his thing.
As far as the magical undergarments, well, somehow I doubt Haggin will find a use for them. And the cup of blood, same thing.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Hmm, not sure why that was required but it seems to work. Wish I could do the same trick, maybe I could help the others.
GM Immer
Before heading to sleep, Wald takes two of the volunteers aside and performs his magical treatment.
"Ressa Balok, filliop rar. Kantor, renveik, filliop bran!"
With that - twice, of course - the elf and halfling hear once again. It's actually a bit strange at first, everything seeming a bit loud. After a few minutes, the decibels are back to normal though. Afterwards, the Halfing trods off to bed.
*****************
In the morning, a mild breeze gusts in the direction of the waves, the ship moving along with them. With no land in sight, and most ways of telling direction unavailable, there's not much of a seeming difference in where the ship is headed. One notable feature arises though - literally: the sun. Given its path cresting over the horizon, the wind and current seem to be blowing slightly East of North.
Balo arrives above deck, looking sullen. He seeks out Dristen. "Wha ... what would you like me to do with the dead? First mate Wald is still sleeping."
Dristen Dagger
Now that Captain Wald is ready to take over ship, I can return to my role as priest. Let's get all the dead from the hold and bring them to the deck. I'll give them their appropriate last right blessing and then we'll send them to the sea. There are too many dead to honor requests of the body. Before that though, let's see if we can find some land.
Perception in the direction the bird went: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
regardless of seeing land or not, Dristen will work with Balo to remove the bodies from the hold, bless them, and send them overboard. As it happens:
Dristen helps carry one of the crew members members to the railing. He says the blessing and he and balo start rocking the body to throw it over board. Coins clink. Woah, hold on a second . Dristen riffels through the mans pockets and finds - - -. [b] Balo, we are in a strange land with limited resources. I don't want to loot the dead but i believe that it might keep us alive later. Let's pile all the gear and currency we find over in that basket, or bucket or some kind of container that would be on the ship. in additional to searching pockets, Dristen will pull off any jewelry and will cast detect magic to make sure nothing is going to waste. I believe that even though I have not prepared spells todays, i can use my orisons and leftover spells from yesterday? If not i will meditate the 15 minutes to prepare detect magic while Balo searches through bodies to collect their gear.
Haggin Goodfey
If Haggin sees what is going on with the bodies and notices that Dristen needs help with casting Detect Magic, Haggin will do that for him, even though I believe the gnome had already combed the ship with the spell already.
Seeing a collection of the dead's possessions are being collected, Haggin will offer up the items found on the captain and place them in the pile, scribbling on a note how he came to possess them. Was hoping to find out more of our condition but these do not seem to be the cause. Perhaps you could ask our new captain about what he knows.
