I feel bad cause Brydan may have accidentally insulted him by not knowing who he was...but legitimately he hasn't followed knights and had no heavy ties to the joust or the melee competitions and so as not being as classically trained or serving as a knight he is ignorant in this sense.

Legit, Marcus will probably more loved by the small folk than Brydan. He has lived a life of luxury compared to them (Hell compared even to some nobles) and so he does not truly understand their plight. So he might not very well be liked by the small folk but hopefully he isn't vilified by them.

I think socially Brydan was brought up to heavily weight and watch others so best to survive this game of thrones. For words often come before swords and if you can play the game well enough, you'll likely never find them in your back.

He is jealous, that he came in the way he did. But he has a duty to uphold and did decently on his composure. Others could notice the flushing easy enough and others still might notice his attempt to try and fluster the man across him. (The Ser ~pause~ Thorn bit was after all a small attempt to see how much he valued his celebrity status as a knight. He heard the name and noted it properly and hearing another whose sword ability he should know mention the honor of dueling him...well he should know the man's blade was well earned.)
Oh yeah Eisel doesn't care about his ability at all actually. He is just there to protect. And hang out with Athera.

Lightly confused. Also, talk of bandits will wound Brydan's pride a little. To hear on the first day of the event that there is issues with bandits when he felt the place was fairly secure and the law was well followed...he might join Ser Eisel in this quest.
