Thorst throws Horgus in front of the chest.

With a short fall there are now only two NPCS left.

Using some of the surrounding rocks, and gars you are able to easily set of the trap. A spike pit opens up and you see the gar bodies get pierced multiple times. There is now an open pit in the way of you and the chest.

"ANEVIA!" Halara screams from down there, waiting to see if the rogue can do something about the pit. "We've got an important chest and a pit that need to be secured. Can you do it?"

Seriously, we need a rogue.


"Hold on a minute it will take me some time to get down there."

Anevia takes around 2 minutes as she begins to climb down the rope as carefully as possible. When she gets down she looks over at the trap and the chest.

"I can't really see anything I can do unless you want me to reset the trap and try to disable it? Do you have anyway to use magic to cross?"

Aneavia's suggestion sparks an idea.. "I can use this armor scrap thing to cast levitate.. I can run and jump to the other side, floating, and we can tie a rope around me so Thorst can pull me back, floating again.." Assuming everyone agrees and after the rope is tied she'll get a running start and jump the pit.. Using her armor scrap before..

Acro to Jump: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Once to the other side she'll pick up the chest and signal to be pulled back..


Current Map

Using the armor scrap to levitate Valkyrie is easily able to get over and with the rope around her wait the other can pull her back while she holds onto the chest. Anevia checks the chest but finds that it isn't locked or trapped opening the chest you find.

If it's okay with you I am going to assume from now on that you detect magic on everything that you find, and take 10 on spellcraft checks to identify magical items. I will only ask for a spellcraft check if it is a spell being cast or an item that you couldn't identify from a take 10. Does that sound reasonable?

"I'll take the shield then. Perhaps that scroll can help figure out what sort of magical sword this is?" Thorst gets out the sword from the sword case and considers using it with the shield for now for the extra defense.

This large chamber must have once been a cistern for the sewer system. Walls made of identical stone blocks hold up a lofty ceiling reinforced with elegant stone arches, while the center of the room contains a more recent-looking structure made of brick walls that reach from floor to ceiling.

Thorst you AC will be 2 better if you are using the +1 shield, so 19 is your new AC. Only Halara failed her fort save but the rest of you will have to make another fort save this round. Halara you are Nauseated for as long as you stay in the cloud and for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 rounds more, so no actions on your turn besides a single move action.

Thorsts blade cuts one of the creatures and it's unnatural defenses seem unable to stop the holy blades might. Anieva seems to be unable to do anthing to help right now. The dretch struck by Thorst screeches in rage and attacks him while the other continues to attack Halara giggling as it tries to take advantage of her nauseated state.

The dretch is unable to get back at his tormentor since the barbarian has picked up his new shield. On the other hand the other dretch claws Halara twice with it's claws slicing into her side.

Then the dretch that was hurt by Thorst begins to look all over as it's eyes take on a glassy look. Then Avarshinal speaks a word and all of you feel courage seeping into your bones from the elf wizard's spell.

Heroism only affects 1 person, unless she has a mass version somehow.. Also Dretch #1 should have had to make a will save vs Daze to act this round.. Not that it mattered since it missed, but if it fail it wouldnt have provided the other with flank.. Depending on the outcome will determine my actions this round..

DM didn't add in any damage for me so I didn't think that happened. Otherwise that's 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 6) + 1 = 9 extra damage on the first hit(total of 20) and 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 5) + 1 = 7 extra for the second(total of 18). Depends what Void says.

Since the herosim will only effect one person Avarshinal would probably put it on Thorst just for safety sake. You will notice that the dretch did make a will save and it failed but since you act after the dretchs do it still got to provide flanking for round 1. The sword isn't functioning in any special way for you right now it is just acting as a masterwork cold iron weapon. Halara since you have to take a standard action to total defense and you only get a move action I don't think that you would be able to keep the total defense action going.

Thorst's blade chops down the dazed dretch and the other one stops playing with Halara to attack Thorst.

Looking rather worn down from all the fighting Thorst steps forward again and swings once more.

The small creature gasps as Thorst's sword comes down like the wrath of the gods and lodges in the small creatures chest. With a sharp twist the blade is sent free. The drecth remains standing for a few seconds, reaching out towards the party with its claws. Reality then catches up with the outsider, and the demon crumples to the floor with a final look of hatred stuck on its face.


Current Map

As you travel along the maze you find a tunnel that takes you through several sewer ducts and finally to some ladders that takes you up to Kenabres. The scene that assaults your eyes is the ruins of a once noble city and the scars of what a demon attack truly means.

Thorst stumbles out leaning on his Lucerne Hammer for support. The city he had been paid to protect was destroyed. The feeling of another loss was hard but he suppressed it. "There was nothing we could do. If we were up here during the attack we would likely be dead. Underground we faced nothing compared to the city." He kneels and places one hand on the ground and says a prayer of honour for the dragon that had saved them as her last act. When he looks up it's almost as if a tear fell from his face. He turned to Horgus to... ask for his help. "Where are your powerful friends now? What use has saving your hide done for anyone but you?" It didn't quite manage to come out as if he was asking, but he was too tired and sore to care. He need to sleep. For a week at least.

"Maybe there is some urgency in this. We've lost what? Two days? Enough for all of this? We cannot delay more, can we?"

Halara looks devastated. She eyes what's left from the city, and then takes a tiny black scorpion from her pocket, putting it gently on her shoulder. "We were saved for a greater purpose. You can't feel it too, can't you?"

"We had a tough time, and the city is destroyed, but there must be a meaning for this." She rotates her Fauchard, swinging it twice in the emptyness. "I feel my power returning. This must mean we have a purpose, or the spirits would not be lending us their power. Lets move carefully, cause there might be enemies in the ruins..."

She looks after a higher ground to take a good view of the city.

As you begin moving to get a better look at the city you can suddenly hear a cry for help from down the road. It seems like this part of town is not dead yet and someone is in trouble. Anevia after hearing the cry begins to hobble towards the source as fast as she can move. You all follow after as Anevia rushes on ahead and you are greeted with the sight of several masked figures holding down a young maiden on a makeshift stone table. The maiden's skin is covered in red symbols and one of the cultists raises a dagger and begins chanting.

Harold, Neverost, Ophelia:

The three of you met in the city of Kenabres for your own reasons but now with the city in ruins you have been forced to work with two others in the hopes of seeing another day. You each remember when the city began to fall to the demons. After the slaying of the ancient silver dragon Terendelev the Storm King destroyed a few more buildings before mysteriously leaving. You haven't had time to ponder why as each moment after has been a whirlwind of both blood and chaos. You have seen creatures that defy belief attack and kill those around you. Luckily you all managed to escape and hide out in a small abandoned home. As the demons rampage continued you began going out to see what aid you could offer to any survivors. It is during one of these outings that you hear the cry of help. Having heard this cry many times before you begin to move towards the source of the disturbance. You walk onto another street and are greeted with the sight of a young woman covered in red symbols being held down on a makeshift stone table as a masked figure raises a dagger and begins chanting.
