Thorst Worten
Thorst doesn't say anything to Nau, simply nodding. One must do what he thinks best for himself.
"Let's get out of here then." He goes over to the other door to ensure it is clear and nothing will come up behind them.
Valkyrie Stormseeker
Val follows Thorst back to the other part of the complex.. "Don't get ahead of yourself guys.. There still could be baddies around here.."
GM Void Dragon
Opening the door you can see old blood stain the floor of this small cavern. Barrels filled with scraps of fur and fat sit against one wall, emitting an foul stench. The two long stone slab tables are covered with skinning tools and piles of freshly butchered meat. Two wooden racks hold drying animal skins. In one of the bodies of the rat you can see a nice looking dagger has been used to cut up the rat.
GM Void Dragon
You open the door to a narrow hallway sloping downward steeply. The walls are stained with foul-smelling streaks of refuse. A mound of rotting garbage lies heaped at the far end of the hallway.
GM Void Dragon
You see racks of hooks hanging from the ceiling, cured slabs of meat dangling from them, and filling the room with a smoky aroma. A group of barrels appears to hold other preserved foodstuffs.
GM Void Dragon
A muted roar echoes down the walls of this hallway. Near the eastern end, the worked stone give way to natural cave walls, just before the hall ends at an open shaft. Hanging over the edge of the shaft is a knotted rope—the other end tied to an iron spike driven into the ground.
Thorst Worten
Looking over the edge(how far down?): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Thorst takes a quick look for anything doen the shaft. "I'll check it out." If there is no visible baddies Thorst climbs down.
GM Void Dragon
As Thorst lands down on the water with a small splash he notices that the room he is in has gentle lapping water coming from a waterfall to the east. You also notice that there are two large fish swimming around the water.
These are Gars a type of large fish. You know that they try to eat anything that is their size or smaller.
Thorst Worten
Nature: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Large? Huge? Bigger?
Thorst looks around the new cavern he has found.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
"Perhaps up is the more prudent direction."
Thorst Worten
Ok cool. When you said large fish i thought sizewise
In that case...
Thorst will search around to find out if there might be anything else down here, keeping his weapon out in case the fish attacked him. (Total defense AC21)
Valkyrie Stormseeker
Val will follow him down with a sigh.. "Must we search every little creavice? I thought we we're trying to get to the surface, not delve deeper into the earth.."
GM Void Dragon
When Thorst begins to examine the area around him the fish begin to attack.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage 1: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Grapple check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage 2: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Grapple check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
The first gar manages to get in a bite but it fails to latch onto Thorst. The second one just seems to be biting water.
Halara Initative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Thorst Initative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Valkyrie Initative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Gar Initative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Round 1

The Gars seeming to be energized by the blood they can smell attack Thorst once again.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Grapple check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
The first gar bites onto Thorst and grapples him allowing the second gar to actually bite into Thorst as well.
Gar; Valkyrie; Halara; Thorst
Gar 1: 0 damage
Gar 2: 0 damage
Valkyrie Stormseeker
Val moves in and attack the gar, enhancing her weapon as a swift..
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 +2 if she can flank
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Acro if needed: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Thorst Worten
if we could see each other how do they get a surprise round? Especially when I was ready for them.
"If they are hiding any other demonic secrets downhere we need to do what we can to stop them. Whether you like it or not we're fighting a war now."
GM Void Dragon
The surprise round was for those who couldn't see the fish and weren't ready for the fight (Halara, and Valkyrie). You said you would keep taking the total defense action while exploring, so that was your surprise round action. The gars then got their surprise round actions. Then initiative happened which allowed Valkyrie and Halara to finally start acting.
Alos Val you threaten a crit on an 18-20 so that attack is a critical threat, and you will most likely confirm.
Thorst Worten
ooohhh. Makes sense lol
Thorst tries to pry open the jaws of the fish clamping onto him.
Ungrapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Valkyrie Stormseeker
Until Dervish Dance kicks in I cant use weapon finesse with a Scimitar, so i would only have a +2 to hit vs the +6 with a cestus.. Next level that all changes.. My to hit and damage will both go up..
GM Void Dragon
The Gars begin their attack strong but then Valkyrie came up and stabbed one in the side. Halra tried to hit the fish from above but she missed due to the creatures agility. Thorst was able to pull off the gar that had been attacking him.
Round 2
AC 12, touch 12, flat-footed 11 CMD 15 (can't be tripped)

Gar #1 continues to attack Thorst. Gar #2 senses fresh prey and attacks Valkyrie.

Gar #1 is unable to bite Thorst. Gar #2 is able to not only bite but also grab Valkyrie in its jaws.
Gar 1: 0 damage
Gar 2: 5 damage
Thorst Worten
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 1 = 22
Damage: 2d4 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 + 3 = 15
Thorst turns around and strikes the Gar that has Valkyrie, "No eating here tonight. Diet time for you."
GM Void Dragon
Halara's blow will finish off the Gar on Valkyire and since she acts before Thorst I am assuming that Thorst will instead finish off the other gar.
Both fish flop to the floor defeated by the tools of civilization as Halara's fauchard cuts one of the gars throat, and Thorst's falchion slices the other gar into tiny pieces.
Valkyrie Stormseeker
Val will try to attack the one grappling her..
Attack-Grapple: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 - 2 = 8 miss..
But then its slaughter town by Thorst and Halara..
"Well that was interesting.. I hope there's something down here to make getting almost eatin worth it.."
Perc: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Thorst Worten
"Secret chambers usually hold secrets. Or are empty and abandoned long ago. I think the former. Best be cautious though." Thorst heads in carefully.
Valkyrie Stormseeker
Man do we need a curing wand lol.. Perhaps we shold just surface and come back to search this place.. We're so low on resources another major fight will probably kill us..
GM Void Dragon
The entrance to this small chamber sits a foot above the water level to the west. A thick layer of dust coats the rest of the cavern. Near the far wall sits an old wooden chest covered with dust and cobwebs.
Thorst Worten
"Reckon it's trapped?" Thorst seems to lean on one leg more than the other. The wounds from the Gar are still troubling him.
Valkyrie Stormseeker
"Yikes! Spike trap! Perhaps if we set it off then we can get to the chest.." She looks for a big rock to set the trap off with.. If one is found she'll toss it into middle of the trap..
