Keeping an eye out for tracks and traps, Augrym enters the cave and tells his fellow Huntsmen to look for the chalk on the walls since he will be leading them invisibly. He tells them of what pace to match.

Augrym steps into the gloom and the others follow cautiously. Anyone who lacks darkvision cannot see in here, absent a light source.

The cave mouth widens into a large cavern filthy with carrion and offal. A bewildering variety of molds and fungi grow on the floor and walls, some as big as a person, and countless insects scuttle about underfoot, feeding on the mounds of waste. A large tunnel slopes down to the south on the opposite side of the chamber, while smaller crevices branch off to the left and right.

Barely an instant after Augrym takes his first step into the chamber, one of the largest mushrooms near the entrance begins to emit a continuous, blood-curling shriek! Two other mushrooms lurch on their tentacle-like roots, as if eager for fresh food...

Unrak looks down at his arm in horror. Where the fungus struck, his flesh literally rots away with astonishing speed. In just a moment, muscle and sinew are gone, exposing white bone at the base of the wound. Unrak suffers 1d4 ⇒ 1 Strength damage and 1d4 ⇒ 1 Constitution damage.

Nevertheless, the mighty redhead cleaves through the nearest mushroom with ease. Unrak can move, if he likes; he cannot reach the other from his current position.

Meanwhile, the last remaining mushroom lashes out at Augrym with full force!
