Velidor Gamestalker |
Velidor unslings his musket and gets it ready to fire if the party gets attacked or if the opposite foes cross over in a threatening manner. He asks the others "If things go south, do i shoot the construct or the humanoid?"
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
"Man first," Obyrn mutters.
GM Tektite |
Na'alu smiles. "I can't say I'm disappointed at your response." He says, then quickly casts a spell, sending a tiny red bead floating toward the party. As it reaches you, it explodes into a fireball!
Fireball: 9d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 3, 3, 1, 1, 6, 3) = 28 DC 17 Reflex for half
Initiative:
Na'alu
Lillian
Obryn
Velidor
Artificial Lifeform
Tessara
Lillian, Obryn, and Velidor are up! Map linked at top.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Reflex 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
I don't normally use a tee shirt reroll in my games, but since we have been beaten down so far, and might get TPK'd here, I'll use it, if it's cool with you, DM.
Reflex save part two 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Welp, then there's that.
Velidor Gamestalker |
REF: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Velidor jumps out of the way of the fireball still getting singed a bit, spends a grit to extend his touch target range, lifts up his musket and shoots at the human...
+1 Musket+RS1+FE: 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 2 - 2 - 2 = 21...DMG: 1d12 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 2 = 11
+1 Musket+RS2+FE: 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 2 - 2 - 2 = 10...DMG: 1d12 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 2 = 12
Velidor Gamestalker |
I don't normally use a tee shirt reroll in my games, but since we have been beaten down so far, and might get TPK'd here,
agreed, we are so beaten down, might make a cleric healer next time around...
Lillian Woo |
Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Shirt: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Lillian eats the fireball as well..
Lillian moves away from the group and casts Suggestion(DC 25 Will) on the caster.. "I suggest you sit and count to 10,000!"
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
Reflex: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21 SUCCESS Evasion, so no damage
Obyrn takes an opportune moment to duck. He exhales a bit in relief when the Aspis foe takes a seat, and turns his attention to the automaton. Summoning distant memories of extra-hours training with a most irritable Aram Zey, the thief divines the best place to strike the strange creature.
Casting true strike.
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
AoO Longspear @ Mannequin: 1d20 + 7 + 20 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 20 = 43
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Tess uses her Misfortune Hex versus the construct.
Dc 17 Will save to resist.
GM Tektite |
Obryn stabs the maanewuin as it appraoches, but find the hard metal shell resists some of the damage!
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Tessara puts a hex on the construct, but it seems to resist!
Na'alu continues sitting on the ground! "6...7...8...9..."
Everyone, but Tessara is up!
The creek requires a DC 15 Swim check to traverse.
Lillian Woo |
How is hes casting a spell while counting to 10000? He can do nothing but perform the task until the suggestion is complete.. It lasts for 7 hours.
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
Obyrn takes a quick step back and jabs at the machine's face, pulling back the spear an inch from his target and casting truestrike again.
Feint (vs Non-Humanoid): 1d20 + 15 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 15 - 4 = 21 vs 10+BAB+Wis mod, or 10+SM mod if higher
Velidor Gamestalker |
Since the man is busy doing some 'rithmatik, Velidor will switch targets to the construct shooting twice then moving...
+1 Musket+RS1+DA+PBS: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 26...DMG: 1d12 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 17
+1 Musket+RS2+DA+PBS: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 10 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 16...DMG: 1d12 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 17
once he re-positions he will call over the squaker..
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Bump?
GM Tektite |
Sorry, we had some unexpected company from out of town. Last week was a mad blur of cleaning, entertaing, and working.
1d20 ⇒ 6
Lillian casts a spell, creating an oil slick under the construct. Unable to keep its balance, it falls to the ground!
Mindless of its defense, the mannequin stands, leaving an opening for Obryn, then moves up to attack the man.
Slam vs Obryn: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
Damage : 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Tessara!
Tessara Omelion PFS |
DM, Tess has the Accursed hex feat, which means the construct needs to make the same save this round to keep the hex from taking effect.
Tess conjures a fist full of snow and hurls it at the construct.
RTA 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 6 - 4 = 15
Cold Damage 5d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 4, 5) = 18
Target needs a Fort 16 DC or be staggered for one round. Of course a construct will probably not be affected by this. Just n case.
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
Obyrn takes advantage of the lumbering construct's confusion and his last spell to strike a powerful blow. He ignores the thwack to his ribs as best he can.
Longspear (AoO) @ Mannequin (FF from feint): 1d20 + 7 + 4 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 4 + 20 = 42
Damage (including sneak from feint): 1d8 + 4 + 3d6 ⇒ (3) + 4 + (5, 6, 3) = 21
GM Tektite |
1d20 ⇒ 7
Tessara's hex seems to affect the construct this time, but it still manages to slam Obryn. Casting a spell, Tessara pelts the mannequin with a snowball!
As the creature closes, Obryn makes it pay, stabbing it with his spear! The mannequin collapses to the ground in a heap! Actually after Tessara's spell, so the attack still hits Obryn.
Out of Combat?
Experimenting, I found I could quickly, (and indecipherable-ly) count to 50 in 12 seconds, so extrapolating that out, you've got at least...400 rounds?
Weaver, a Pathfinder |
It gets proportionally harder once you have to say "two-thousand-eight-hundred-ninety-seven" rather than just "twenty-three." :)
"Hmph," grunts the rogue, planting his spear in the dirt. "We could just leave him. We'll have a decent head start."
He looks around at the others. "'Course, I'm all up for just slitting his throat too."
Lillian Woo |
"I say we take him pisoner and return with him for questioning.. Manacles, gag, blinfold, and strip him should do the trick."
And yes its a harshly worded suggestion.. I've learned my lesons with suggestions that can be easily completed..
Tessara Omelion PFS |
"He'll stay counting for a good period of time. Lillian's right...let's take him with us."
Súrë Hísië |
"SQUAWK!"
Velidor Gamestalker |
Velidor did say he was going to beckon the squawker once his firing was done. he did not forget you. he is a ranger after all and it may be a long travel time to finish the scenario and some fresh meant would be nice...
GM Tektite |
Returning to Nantambu, laden by the bodies of you fallen companions, you are able to read over the Pathfinder report. Malika Fenn’s report confirms Aya’s suspicions that the Aspis expedition is planning to investigate the same area that Venture-Captain Sharrowsmith was researching before his party’s disappearance. The intelligence also reveals that the consortium is sending a lot of manpower along with the expedition, including several veteran field agents with grim reputations.
With this information in hand, Aya thanks the party wholeheartedly as
she steels herself for the daunting task of preparing the Society’s response to the impending conflict. Aya tells you that the Society has been given a precious few days to plan their response, due to your sabotaging the warehouse—a commendable advantage.
Learnig that you were able to secure a deal with Novaria, Aya congratulates you excitedly. She explains that having reliable transport of supplies and personnel through Bloodcove greatly strengthens the Society’s position in the upcoming conflict, and a capable ally in Bloodcove is to the Society’s long-term advantage.
And with that, you have successfully completed #06-09 By Way of Bloodcove. Thanks for playing!
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Woot! Thanks for running for us, DM! That was one of the tougher adventures I've participated in.
Jaysin Deckert |
Not sure "successfully" qualifies for me, maybe I lived long enough!
