Scarab Sages

Grats and enjoy :)

Congratulations!

Aww thanks guys :)

I wish you all the best of luck in any and all future games you apply for - there were so many strong applicants I feel really lucky!

We are looking for two players to join the campaign. It's just about at the end of the first book.

Is there something specific you're looking for, for the group as far as roles are concerned? I've had a few ideas for this adventure that I've never got around to yet - one of which is a druid who is looking to see the worldwound closed to see the nature restored to what is right and natural.

I could offer my tiefling paladin of Iomedea. He was in a campaign a few years ago that died maybe 20 posts in book 2. Will gladly adapt him to the recruitment specs

What does the party need?

I would also throw my hat in the ring depending on what the party requires.

Taking a look at the discussion thread , seems they're losing a bard and paladin

Ooh a mythic bard, count me in, I will get to work.

I'm also interested.

Edit: For everyone who's wondering, I looked at the threads, and the current players seem to be

Ashnah Lialda, Female Half Elf Arcanist 3
and
Heinrick Stonewright, Male Human Cleric 3 of Iomedae

We're replacing a tiefling paladin of Iomedae, and a human bard.

Obviously, the group was a pretty clear cut arcane/divine/martial/skilled setup, so we should probably look to fill skilled and martial roles.

@GM Shathira, would you allow a Ratfolk character?

Hi GM,

I'd like to submit Arsenn here. He's an angelkin paladin of Iomedae. The plans for him are to keep getting some of the others Aasimar feats and potentially invest more on his survivability and "tankiness".

I leveled him to 3 and adjusted to the game rules.

Cheers

Okay, sure. I'm willing to throw my hat in the ring. I'll see if I can roll something up soonish.

Backstory:

Holdan was born in Kenabres mere months before Khorramzadeh’s assault on the city, in which he cracked the wardstone. Growing up during the Fourth Crusade, he was often kept sheltered from the violence of the war by his mother Felana, a priestess of Iomedae, and his father, Darin, a guard for the city. Unfortunately, one day, 8 years into the Crusade, a demon broke through the defending lines, rampaging through the city, killing all in its path as the paladins and guards sought to contain the monster. In its rampage, it came upon the school Holdan was at and slew the teacher before turning to attack the children. The paladins finally managed to slay it, but not before it had slain or wounded over half of those there, including Holdan.
Holdan laid unconscious for weeks, his wounds bandaged, his mother by his side, praying to Iomedae daily. Many were impressed he had lived as long as he had, but they expected him to die in the end. Instead, he eventually awoke, and though his recovery would take another three months, he eventually was fully healthy again, although the scars left by the demon’s claws on his torso and legs remained, and he was plagued by nightmares of the experience.

Out of a desire to never again be in such a situation, he began weapons training with his parents, learning to use a Sword and Shield as the crusaders did. Though he had neither the aptitude nor the inclination to join the clergy or paladins of Iomedae, he nevertheless worshipped Iomedae, for he believed it was her blessing that kept him alive - regardless of the whispers that said he may have some trace of demonic heritage in his bloodline. He also began to study the demons, for he believed they must have weaknesses that could be exploited.

As he grew into adulthood, and the crusades ended, he joined the city guard as his father had done. Because he had taken time to learn about demons and study the texts about them, he was often assigned to accompany the patrols outside the city, where he was able to acquit himself well in combat against the occasional demon they would encounter, although none was a particularly powerful one.

Assigned to crowd control for the festival of Armasse, Holdan witnessed the destruction of the Kite, where the Wardstone was housed, and saw Khoramzzadeh’s attack on Terendelev. Moving quickly, he sought to funnel as many people to safety as he could, but demons began appearing amongst the crowd. Engaging them, he fought to delay for more time for the citizens of Kenabres to flee, and as he did so, a nearby building collapsed, and he saw nothing but darkness.

He awoke a few hours later, head pounding, to find destruction run rampant in Kenabres. The only people near him were already dead, and though there were no demons in the area, he was sure that they were still around. He gathered together what supplies he could, from the ruined area, and since then he has moved about the city, sleeping where he can find refuge, and helping those citizens he can find shelter and supplies. He has sought to find any other guardsmen, or crusaders, or priests - but he has found no one. And so, he fights a one-man war against the demons, and prays to Iomedae for deliverance, knowing that unless he finds aid, it is not a question of if he will die - but when.

Neither a martial nor a skill monkey here, but I offer Arryn for your consideration. His profile is currently 1st level, but I'm happy to bump him to whichever level you would like if accepted.

The Paladin spot has been filled.

Dotting. Waffling on whether to make a Cold Iron Inquisitor or a Spell Warrior Skald. Both hit the "skill monkey" angle, with Skald being more supportive and Inquisitor being more damaging. Not sure which would make a bigger impact, and I have thoughts for flavor for both concepts. Probably going to go with the Marshal Path either way.

Decisions, decisions.

Any set deadline I should be worried about?

I have a somewhat controversial aasimar bard that I originally built for RoW. "Love not war" kind of character, but not a strict pacifist. Somewhere in the PG-13 range tho!

A bit more clarification:
• This character is built for level 1, but I can easily bump to whatever level you're at now. I'll need to know how much starting wealth to spend.
• This character uses background skills. I don't know if you use that in your game.
• This is a buff/heal bard build with social skills. If you need trapfinding or something I can tweak to accommodate.
• While this character follows the semi-infamous "sexy funtimes Arshea cultist" route, she is not a painfully eye-rolling sex-kitten character. She has goals, motivations, and interactions based on her philosophical stance, her history, and her skills. She is an Arshea cultist and that is part of her personality - but only part. (She would probably take the Mystery Cultist prestige class eventually.)
• I'm a regular player and DM on the boards and should have no trouble accommodating participation without disappearing suddenly! I sometimes go on camping trips for a few days at a time but I give notice before I do.
• This character is built for the Marshal mythic path.

@Ierox not real keen on the ratfolk.

I'm looking to get this started again sometime next week.

Good to see you back, GM Shathira!

Level 3? Is that correct?

Yes, Level 3.

Grand Lodge

Are you using a slow track if you are almost at the end of book 1 shouldn't you be almost lvl 6?

They are cleaning up the hideouts and just about to go to the Garrison. They'll be level 4 soon.

How would this guy fit in; he's a Trapper/Demonslayer Ranger. Can handle the skill side, deal with mundane and magical traps, and he's suited for ranged combat.

He was built (but never played for a high level game) so I've stripped all the fancy bells and whistles off, but can easily get him equipped for play by game-time.

Lemme know...

If there's still a spot open, I'd be interested in playing a version of this character (see alias profile). Originally used in a very short-lived mythic Forgotten Realms/Planescape pbp, I would like to keep the basic theme of her background (cold environs, raised in evil society) and build (scout/ranged combatant with times/day luck ability - see alternate racial traits) adjusted for Golarion and your creation guidelines and character level.

I've read through a fair chunk of your gameplay thread and enjoyed it; I'm unfamiliar with the AP in general, but will download and read the Player's Guide tonight. Please let me know if you think Lavinia could be a fit, in which case I'll edit her crunch and formally submit.

Also, I hope you enjoy the holiday weekend!

I've got some contenders now for the last spot, and I'll be making a decision by Friday. If you want to be considered, please submit a character.

After reviewing these over the weekend, and having to take the weekend to do it, I'm going to add the following two characters:

Bollwerk; Alias of Helikon
Lavinia Snowbeard: Alias of goodwicki

Trust me this was not an easy choice and took some serious deliberation. I wish I could take everyone, but I only have two spots.

Thank you for your consideration! Have a great time!
