I'm happy with a late-ish watch, I do have low-light vision to aid me.
I will ride when we sally out, but dismount if anything occurs. I am happy at the back as an archer.
What are the chances of purchasing Scale Mail from Oleg?
GM Rhys Grey
Question though, does Oleg have anything that could be considered an appropriate "gift" for the fey? I know wine is out now, but... chocolates? spices? anything "exotic" we could share?
In addition, she is a skilled baker (although you've only tried her bread); she has a few varieties of pies available: rhubarb, blackberry, and strawberry. She has one of each, and she'll give up to two of them to you for free, should you wish it. In general, she'd charge around 3 sp for a pie.
She does have some honey-sesame bars as candy in storage (she has a sweet-tooth, from time to time); she can part with up to 5 pounds of the stuff, at 5 sp per pound.
As with Oleg, special requests for cocoa and other specialized foodstuffs can be made; Svetlana can also provide baked goods or sweets, if she's asked in advance.
Tityanna Medvyed
In addition to the cold weather gear, Tityanna will furnish the Good Wife with a gold piece for for two pounds of the candy, and will ask for the rhubarb pie to share with the group, knowing that berries must be extremely valuable. I'll update my sheet shortly, have to look up the price of the cold weather gear.
Tityanna Medvyed
Updated and ready to roll!
Unless you need to RP all that stuff, which is good for long game purposes, but will take time out of the "hey, we need to go deal with the bandits now" purposes.
It can be assumed that Tityanna is polite and gracious at this point, no? :P
GM Rhys Grey
Oy, sometimes it takes me longer to get things done! I'm still getting used to this whole fatherhood thing. ;)
I finally managed to put the little one to sleep, and am now doing more game-related things. Looking over what you all had posted about watch-preferences, I realized that you had already made one, the night you first stayed at Oleg's! So, I went ahead and used that (if I may be so bold). As far as the marching order goes, I hope this is what you all had in mind.
Alright . . . so, I figure the following is the watch order:
*Late Afternoon/Early Evening: Tityanna
*Post Sunset/Late Evening: Malaswyn
*Evening to Midnight: Haldaval
*Midnight to Pre-Rise: Harsk
*Pre-Rise to Early Morning: Ray
And . . . this is the marching order:
*Haldaval
*Ray
*Tityanna
*Malaswyn
*Harsk
EDIT: I just want to be clear . . . is anybody walking? Everybody riding? Anybody riding Puck the Wonder Pony™? I'll need to know the group's effective speed, as far as overland movement goes.
Tityanna Medvyed
Tityanna and Harsk will be walking, so far as I know, and leading Puck the Wonder Pony. I believe that Haldaval and Malaswyn will be riding horses. I am uncertain which path Ray will take.
No one is riding Puck the Wonder Pony. He has a pack saddle, not a riding saddle. Although, if Harsk wishes, I believe that Puck could become his mount in the future, if he is trained as such. It would likely be a better investment to simply get a combat trained pony, however.
Harsk Ironback
I would never sully Puck the Wonder Pony™ by making him my mount. I would find another, less wonderful pony.
I'm pretty sure with me on foot our overland is based on 20ft per round. :-(
Tityanna Medvyed
As a player with experience in fey-heavy campaigns, I would love to leave them a copy of Hustler, some of those books that have Fabio posing on the cover, an MP3 player loaded with Eminem and a many tiered chocolate cake.
Kingmaker was MADE for an all-bard party, really.
And I made a shy and prudish Sorc.
Tityanna will leave five of the candy bars, and probably try her hand at singing in Sylvan, an improvised ditty about the beauty of the meadows and their flowering in spring which may or may not be entente depending on the audience.:P
Tityanna Medvyed
Actually, I had completely forgotten. Haha. Silly me. When I deliberately don't look at or think of OOC knowledge to play my character in the way I think she might act, I really forget about OOC knowledge.
And yeah, that nat 20, huh? Not gonna see that bad boy too often from me, I tell ya. :P
GM Rhys Grey
Can we take 10 on knowledge checks that don't involve identifying monsters? I know that you cannot take them in combat, and the only thing really novel about the bard's ability to take them is that it is as a standard action, not a full round.
Yes. If you're not in combat (or otherwise distracted), you may take 10 on Knowledge checks. In fact, you may retroactively take 10 on your last Knowledge (nature) check, if you desire, now that you know you can. :)
GM Rhys Grey
If you would, please let me know when you're ready to move on to the rest of the day's journey. Hopefully, we can stop in a good place before I disappear for a week on Monday. :)
I will allow a Perform check instead of a Diplomacy check, if the PC in question would rather use that (a houserule, but it makes sense to me). Any gift consisting of sweets/bling/booze/potions will give a base +1 to the check. In addition, even barring the aforementioned items, other gifts may suffice (the more expensive, the better). Each 10 gp of worth will add a +1 to said PC's roll.
Tityanna has succeeded in her check (the Perform [oratory] roll).
Please alert me if I was unclear about my breakdown! :)

I'd allow it to be a "gift"--a secret-sharing, if you will--with a +1 modifier to your check. As far as having nothing of worth . . . the party does have 3 potions, and Tityanna has plenty of candy to spare; she could "loan" you some.
Keep in mind, if Tityanna successfully assists you, you'll get another +2 to the check.
EDIT: By all means, everybody, feel free to be creative with your gifts. In fact, I'd allow Malaswyn's dance to be an appropriate gift (with a +1 mod), but it still wouldn't help much (this time).
GM Rhys Grey
Alright, all, as a reminder: I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow. I'll be back October 30th (coincidentally, my anniversary). I will try to post while away, but there are no guarantees. Likely, when all is said and done, I'll be available by November 1st.
Feel free to get stuff done before then, or roleplay even after I'm gone. :)

Mysterious stranger destroys aqueduct. One witness claims she heard the unknown party scream "It was those rascally fey!" just moments before the water system was destroyed...
*sigh* Not to be I guess...
Hu5tru
Hey there, everyone. My flight home got munched by the big storm front on the eastern seaboard. I will not be arriving in Oslo until Monday afternoon GMT +1. And... I'm pretty freaking angry right now so it might be a few days till I get in a gaming mood.
Now, after being on the phone to those a**holes at united, I am going to get some sleep at my fleabag hotel. Hopefully.
GM Rhys Grey
Feel free to post when you feel up to it. I hope you make it to Oslo safely! :)
I got back home from my trip last night! It was pretty fun, seeing my old stomping grounds.
At any rate, I just wanted you all to know that I've returned. I hope this PbP doesn't sputter and fizzle due to my week-long departure! I'm looking forward to running this again!
Although this game and my tabletop Kingmaker were put on hold, I was able to run a one-shot for a small group of my old friends, so I had some gaming-action whilst vacationing. Also (and here is where I possibly display my age), I managed to ship all my 1E AD&D/oWoD/micellaneous RPG-stuff home; a dear friend of mine held onto it for all these years and magnaminously gave it back to me. I've got a bunch of retro RPG stuff to look through now, woo-hoo! :D
GM Rhys Grey
If nobody objects, I think I'll move the game along to when the party camps. Does Tityanna still wish to share pie (and Diplomacy checks) with the party/fey mischief-makers? Is Haldaval dead-set against the fey's antics?
I'll give it a little time, to give everybody a chance to respond. It might be a slow start getting back to this, but that's okay (real-life, and all)! :)
Tityanna: Did you ever make it to Oslo?
Hu5tru
Yeah, I am home (in a city southwest of Oslo called Hoten), I am just suffering from extreme jet lag.
I will get into my long game games more when my brain has landed fully. We're also in the process of moving at the moment, so... busy busy. But I can have something up tonight, I think.

I'm glad to hear you made it home. You just flew forever and are moving? Ouch! That's two things I generally dislike! ;)
Harsk Ironback
NNoooo Hal is just grumpy! :-p
I am glad you got to your destination Hu5tru, travel is a pain enough and all that junk you had to deal with is just *blech*
Lets get this engine runnin! Onward to camp!
(My vote anyway :-P)

My husband has gifted me with a cold. On top of jetlag and acclimating to a climate that is 10 degrees Celsius cooler and wet. I am self medicating with cold remedies, but feel rather craptacular at the moment. I, a woman with some cooking skills and a lot of time, ate beans from a can for lunch because I had that little energy.
Just soz Harsk knows, I thought what he said was pretty keen. I'll try to get a post up this evening.

I'm sorry about your cold! Luckily (*knock on wood*), neither me or my little family got sick on our trip. I loathe being sick; I understand your pain! :(
Harsk's monologue was indeed keen.
Posting has gotten to a jumpy start, for all of us. It's funny what a week off can do to PbPs! I'm pretty much having to re-read the latter few pages of the gameplay thread to reorient myself with the game. ;)
My tabletop game hasn't resumed, either, as of yet (although most of us are meeting this weekend for a kingdom-building session, even without the Ruler's player present). I enjoyed my trip, but I'm having a time getting back into the swing of things. :)

1. I agree. Boo to the cold!
2. Thanks. When Rhys said "go ahead and roleplay it out I think I felt as flustered as my dwarf, but I got something out there. Glad you folks like it.
3. It is amazing how much a little lapse in the routine can be a huge disruption I think it reveals that we are far more "habit oriented than we might believe. Certainly the case for me at least.

*Insert Cricket Sounds Here*
Too funny!
I was actually waiting to see if you all were going to share the pie and/or try any more "gifts" to the fair-folk. I assumed the weekend was just going slowly! :)
I'll go ahead and post on the IC thread a bit later (Imogen calls . . .).

Hey, all. I hate to do this--and I really didn't want to add to the PbP-unreliability statistics--but I'm going to have to quit running this PbP. Honestly, I just don't have the time, anymore. As strongly as it started, it's a shame to see it fall by the wayside.
I considered just letting this game die silently, but it wouldn't be fair to you. It's a little difficult to admit that I bit off more than I could chew; there's just too much going on in my life, between work/wife/child/moving/assorted RL responsibilities, to do this PbP justice with such a fine group of roleplayers (as all five of you are).
I'm sorry. I wish I didn't have to admit failure, or let you all down.
At any rate, I trust you'll find (or are already part of) other PbPs. I wish you luck with any games you become a part of.
Hu5tru, halplm, PirateDevon, Dragonborn3, and GeraintElberion . . . I've had fun playing Kingmaker with you all! Hopefully, I'll see you around on the boards. :)

Yeah I might have to integrate Harsk into my KM game too ;-p
Too bad, it was fun.
Well thanks to all for the run we had.
I winder if you have a second Rhys there should be a way to mark this campaign as "inactive". Should keep it mothballed and off our active campaign sheets but around in case you ever want to throw the paddles on it and bring it back ; -p
