Hemket destroys the one he was firing at, which one btw?
Hadjii heals Ard..
Khufu puts himself between the remaining creature..
Amarantha is up still..
Amarantha Van der Griest
Ama adds a CCW to Ard CCW: 4d8 + 12 ⇒ (5, 1, 8, 2) + 12 = 28 along with a quickened channel 6d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 4, 6, 6) = 32...wow

Arduino the Lesser
Arduino winces as his wounds are visibly healed, then takes a breath, turns and looks shame-facedly at the party. "Erm... sorry... I kind of imagined that tactic being a bit more, um... successful." He tries for an endearing smile, not unlike a puppy who accidentally wet his master's bed out of enthusiasm.
Diplomacy 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
He turns and studies the stone building.

"Ard, If you go with crazy lone wolf tactics again, I'll feed you to the critters myself, whatever those critters may be. We were going to talk, and possibly get some information. Now we're stuck. "
GM Pox
As Ard takes his tongue lashing you all easily notice a pair of shifts in the earth near the semi-circle. Yall do not however see anything other dirt move around a bit..
2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3
You all hear some casting and then the stone beneath you all's feat turns to mud and you quickly sink up to your chest.
A voice speks out of now where.. It's tone is rough, but you get the hint its not very please.. "How dare you come to my home and destroy my things! You were unwise to do such things mortals! It's time you learned the price for such arrogance!"
You hear more casting and the mud starts to harden back to rock! Reflex save to avoid being trapped up to your chest in hardened rock. DC 20
You still don't see anyone..
Since noone has see invis active that was a surprise round.. I suppose if you roll high enough on perception you could not be surprised though..
Amarantha: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Khufu: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Hadjii's Perception check: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (2) + 24 = 26
Hadjii's Reflex save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Hadjii-wolf would have been trapped, but when his turn comes around he will morph into an air elemental and fly up 60';
He'll use a dose from his rod of Quicken spell to cast his prepared Stone Shape, freeing up Arduino and Aramantha...
*IF* Hemket fired on a target, and Hadjii sees the arrow hit something and bounce off -- or go invisible upon sticking in -- he'll use his rod of Quicken Spell to cast one of his two prepared Greater Dispel Magic on that location.
caster level check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
he'll start scanning around, hoping for a better roll on his Perception check next round!
Arduino the Lesser
Ref 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Slipping his way out of the mud, Arduino hefts a pile of golden dust. "Where is the caster?" Waiting for direction, he shoots the blast in that direction.
Glitterdust, DC 23 to resist, aimed at wherever I'm pointed; it has a 10ft burst and lots of range so shouldn't be a problem to hit.
GM Pox
Ok first off, Surprise Round.
Hemket is so far the only one that can act. He see's a large invisible form circling to the right, I put an x on the map where he ends his movement.. He does not see the other caster..
Still waiting on Amarantha to see if she gets a surprise round action..
Amarantha Van der Griest
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Reflex: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12...I would use mythic surge but it's a one
GM Pox
Ok Hemket is the only one who saw the moving large guy.. He may have an action in the surprise round..
For the time being Hadjii and Amarantha are stuck in stone. Ard and Khufu manage to dodge being stuck, as does Hemket..
Khufukhaf
"I still don't understand what's going on. Why are we fighting? Can't we try talking to them like we talked to the big bird?"
Hemket
"Look, I don't want to kill anyone. Those were just constructs. We didn't mean to offend, but a rash decision made those golems attack. We would just as soon not fight you. "
and he will hold his action. Though he will be looking at where he saw the guy with his bow ready.
GM Pox
You hear the same, powerful voice speak out.. "I was once young and stupid, so I will give you a chance to explain yourselves.. Do it quickly!"
I'm also assuming no other offensive action are being done either, like the dispels etc. Let me know if yall are doing otherwise..
Arduino the Lesser
"Well, you see... a bird wants you dead!"
Arduino pauses and looks around at you. "What.... that sounds a lot sillier when I say it out loud... Curses, how would my father say it..."
He coughs, takes a breath, then in a harsh and deep tone barks "A noble awakened creature of nature wishes your presence gone from its domain, and we struck a bargain to such effect!" He coughs again, and mutters, "...but I suspect my friends might be happy with that bargian being non-violent...?"
Hemket
"Umm, no. We heard a request from the silly bird to kill you, but we didn't make any bargain. He said he'd help if we killed you. From what I understand of this place, you're probably of more help to us than the bird. "
GM Pox
"So let me get this straight.. You came to my home at the behest of a talking bird to kill me? I know I called you all stupid, but I think you might be crazy as well.."
There is a pause and then.. "Let me tell you how it is. This is my domain and I choose who comes or goes. And this bird just punched his ticket.. Now I would advise you to spill the beans as to why you are in my Slave Trenches before you punch your ticket as well.."
Ninja!.. Im gonna play it as if Hemket spoke after him.
GM Pox
The shaitan drops his invisibility and you all get a look at him..
"Help your friends out of the ground and we will talk.." His companion drops her invisibility as well after Tef-Naju does..
After everyone is out etc.. "I won't get into the specifics but I am trapped here and the only way I can get out is by getting that pyramid to the ground. The problem is I cannot do it myself or I would have been gone long ago.. I will assist you and your group in this task indirectly, but I cannot help directly and it would void my contract.. I will answer whatever questions you might have.."
He moves over and sets down in his chair.. Aiveria joins him at his side and morphs the dead constructs into a her herself using a bit of earth magic..
You may ask questions now..
Amarantha Van der Griest
Ama dusts herself off becoming visible. Good sir, we have the knowledge on how to get the pyramid back.
She will relay the info below
The Khepsutanem is much more than ditches and mounds of earth. Hundreds of obelisks, each containing a bound elemental spirit, adorn the paths of the Khepsutanem. Among these stand 11 great monuments, each infused with the spirit of a particularly powerful elemental. These 11 monuments are the Sekrepheres, and they must be activated in the proper order between the hours of dawn and noon on a single day to focus their energies upon the Sun Disk plaza, which can in turn call down Hakotep’s tomb."
How does one activate the Sekrespheres?
“Before any of the Sekrepheres can be activated, you must rouse the Khepsutanem from its slumber, for after so long a time, the magic that empowers it has certainly gone dormant. The source of the Sekrepheres’ power is found within a complex on the northern side of the earthworks called the Tekramenet. Once you’ve awakened the Khepsutanem, you must seek out the Chamber of the Sekrepheres within a second complex on the eastern reaches of the trenches, the Sekrephrenet. From there, it is a simple matter of anointing the Sekrephere symbols in the proper order with holy or unholy water.”
In what order must we activate the Sekrepheres to focus the Sun Disk plaza on Hakotep’s Tomb?
“Each of the Sekrepheres is associated with one of the gods of Osirion whose teachings, in one way or another, inf luenced Hakotep’s work at the Khepsutanem. They must be activated in the following order: Horus, Ptah, Isis, Ra, Khepri, Osiris, Sobek, Maat, Sekhmet, Thoth, and finally Set. Once you’ve activated all eleven in this order, the Sun Disk can be used to call down Hakotep’s pyramid.
How do we activate the Sun Disk once the Sekrepheres are activated?
“You need only to use the Pharaoh’s Key in the central stone of the Sun Disk. Finding the Pharaoh’s Key will be the trick, but it should still lie with a complex called the Akhumemnet near the Sun Disk.
What we need are specifics, where is the tekramenet?, the sekrepheres and the pharoahs key?
GM Pox
In laymans terms you need to:
Step One: Awaken the magic of the Slave Trenches and the 11 Sekrephere monuments by activating the great receptacle found in the Lantern Vault.
Step Two: Focus the 11 monuments on Hakotep’s tomb by activating them in the proper order in the Monument Vault.
Step Three: Use the Pharaoh’s Key (held in the Guardian Vault) to activate the Sun Disk to bring down Hakotep’s tomb.
"I see.. The lantern vault seems to be your first destination then.. It's over.." He then proceeds to tell you how to get there.
"Now if you will excuse me I have to go take care of a little problem.. Probably something I should have done along time ago.. Come back when you need more info.."
He casts a couple spells and he and his girl flies off towards the Roc nest.. I placed a star on the entrance of the Lantern Vault.. You cannot see the nest from that distance so if you wish at some point to check it out you will have to fly out of the way..
Arduino the Lesser
Arduino looks around. "Erm... no?" He hesitates, then nods. "Yeah... no. No? Yeah... sorry, no." Pulling Kin out of his pocket, Arduino throws her forward then leaps onto her back as she appears, taking off towards the roc.
How fast are they flying? I use liberal castings of Haste and Dimension Door to make up the difference.
Arduino (presumably) arrives at the roc first. "Noble bird, you are betrayed! Those I thought were friends have warned your enemies, and they come! Please, leave the fighting to me, depart so as not to sully your majesty with brute combat!"
GM Pox
They just have a fly spell so 120' per round. You can certainly get there before the genie and his companion. Are you perhaps forgetting why you are here though? It's not to save something yall were intended to fight anyways, but if you have a death wish by all means..
Arduino the Lesser
Backstory is kicking in. Arduino is virtually a druid; a roc alone is fairly special, a talking roc more so. Plus Arduino is close companions with another roc, Kin. Would you really expect me not to save it?
Hemket
As Ard flies off "Come back here! We have to save the world not a damned bird!"
then, as he is ignored he looks to the others "Well we still have a mission. We better get on with it. Hakotep isn't going to wait around. "
GM Pox
The group watches as Ard tears off after the genie and his companion. With the use of haste and dimension door(mark the uses off), he is able to get to the nest before Tef-Naju. After explaining the situation the bird looks visibly shaken..
"Well thats no good, you were supposed to kill him! That was the deal! For your betrayal I require you to stay here and face the genie whilst I make my escape!" He then proceeds to fly off to the south as fast as he can go.. You have a few rounds before Tef-Naju shows up..
Arduino the Lesser
Arduino watches it go. "...well, this was a good result." Ducking behind a stone wall, he waves a hand and summons a crude illusion of him and Kin.
Silent Image
He and his mount then go invisible then streak away perpendicular from the genie and the roc, circling around to meet the rest of his group.
Mythic, Invisibility Sphere.
Once the roc is out of view, he dismisses the illusion.
GM Pox
So just so I'm straight you are casting a silent spell leaving an image of yourself and Kin behind? And then your going invis and flying back to the group?
Arduino the Lesser
Unless there are facts available that my character would know that would make this a poor plan, yes. If I can't do it in time and I'll get splattered by the genie, I'll reconsider. If the roc will swoop back and eat me after I end my illusion, I'll reconsider. Otherwise, this is my plan.
GM Pox
I just wanted to make sure your plan. I have given you all the facts I could.
Ard is gone before the genie shows up so he has no clue to outcome of his illusion etc.. He is able to rejoin the group as they make there way to the Lantern Vault..
Arduino the Lesser
Great. Sorry, was just a little concerned about 'the genie is in sight of you by this point, he sees through your deception and kills you instantly.
Arduino rejoins the rest. "So, lantern vault, eh?"
Arduino the Lesser
"...nothing too worrying if we get ourselves to that-there lantern vault quickly?"
Hadjii
Hadjii got as far as turning into an air elemental and flying up; once parley started, he cast Stone Shape from his Wand of Stone Shape (without Quicken), and swirled around overhead listening.
Although he's a druid, he thinks the roc -- being awakened -- is not a natural beast anymore. He did not like the way the thing demanded we kill humans. He understands Arduino's effort, but does not agree...
with Tef-Naju departure -- followed by Arduino -- Hadjii drifts down a bit closer to his team:
"I wonder if we'll see our friend Kin again -- or his master..."
he points an airy arm in the direction Tef-Naju pointed:
"When the shaitan mentioned the Lantern Vault and pointed northeast, I believe I saw the location from the air."
Upon arrival, Hadjii swirls overhead on combat air patrol...
GM Pox
The group reaches the entrance and find it relatively easy access, although the interior looks really dark..
New map up!
Khufukhaf
Khufukhaf looks to the sky and exclaims"Oh Anubis, I remain confused by the actions of my newfound companions ... if you wish me to abandon this quest .... give me a sign."
When nothing happens, he sighs.
"I guess we're going in...."
