Ach, gnomes/sprites are going to be tiny, and tiny just doesn't work for PC's (my opinion). Halflings are just one I couldn't seem to fit in. The original world was humans only, so it took some thought on my part to even figure out how to add ANY other PC races.

![]() |

I would play a tiny gnome if I could have reduce person permanently placed on me so that I would become diminutive. I would then become a cavalier, outfitted in full plate and riding into battle on my dashing, full-plate-barded rat. (I think there is a Disney movie in there somewhere.)

GM Derek W |

Oh yes, indeed there is. You'd only be fighting giants, naturally. Never have to worry about a charge lane!

GM Derek W |

Mez, if it would be enough to get you to submit a character, I might be willing to make an exception for a gnome. Could even do small. Maybe we'd do some kind of half-elf/half-dwarf type. A pretty rare bird, but what would you say?
I also have followed the Grand Lodge discussion thread on the PBP Gameday. It looks like gameday #2 will be held towards the end of March.
Do we want to start our next game soon?

![]() |

I have created a setting (not PF) where one of the PC races allowed was faerie (diminutive humanoids smaller than pixies).

![]() |

I think you could pull off an evil a mischievous gnome pretty well, Mez - don't sell yourself short.

GM Derek W |

You guys are beasts! I feel kinda shrimpy at 6'3". Although I have been tipping the scales lately...I'm currently 50 lbs heavier than wehn I got married.
And Mez, in Louwildar the elves are the tricksy ones, if you're looking to emulate Dragonlance kender.

![]() |

We haven't heard from Alice, but I'll judge WhtKnt the presumptive winner in our competition. :)
So, on the original question, I would be up for starting the next scenario soon, hopefully getting it (and maybe even another one?) done before the next game day. It was just being discussed on another thread and someone mentioned that VitV is short. Hmm. I guess two would still be pushing it. Maybe we would just take a short break here or there.
(Well, on the other hand, I've always been curious about Ambush in Absalom, which is, so I've heard, pathetically short.)

I should probably point out that while I am very overweight (and this obvious to the most casual observer), my doctor told me that she was surprised that I weighed that much and that I carry it well.
I found out about a month ago that I have diabetes, so I'm trying to cut my weight down by dropping sugars, cutting portions, and exercising. I've already dropped my blood sugars from 236 to about 150.

![]() |

Yeah, I need to lose weight and exercise more as I am pre-diabetic - a med for another thing complicates my blood sugars and lipids. I think most people could exercise better and cut down on sweets (especially after the holidays).

![]() |

I think I'm about half the height of some of you guys. ;) I'm 163 cm tall, which Google informs me is about 5'4".
My weight? You never ask a lady that! :P Well, I'm actually starting the New Year exercising and starting to modify my diet with my doctor's help. I've always been kind of chubby but I've gained more weight than I realised recently, so I'm working on getting that off again. Just had a blood test the other day to make sure I'm not diabetic/have PCOS or anything like that.
My dog appreciates it too, as she's getting daily long walks now. :)

Obviously, Alice comes from the civilized world: She uses the metric system natively. Here, it is only in science. :(
A question, now that we have switched to important topics: What kind of dog do you have? Currently, I only have the three cats, but we are definitely going to have to get a dog sometime as my son grows up. Couldn't take that away from him since I was fortunate enough to have one. (I often say I knew I had met the right woman for me (my wife) when I found out she was as goofily happy to meet a dog or cat as I was.)

Aw, those are great. :)
I took care of a friend's cockatiel years ago and remember thinking about how much more care and planning went into its meals than my own.

GM Derek W |

Don't look into its eyes! Don't...give..in...
Will save: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Whew! I alomst got transfixed by canine cutensss!
We've got a pooch of our own. She's a mutt - part labrador retriever, part beagle. We got her when my kids were 3 1/2 and 1. That was tough, and it still is. She has a very sweet disposition, but sometimes the boys get pretty rough with her. I can definitely see why some folks wait till their kids get a bit older.

![]() |

Five cats. Who need kids? As anyone who shares living space with cats can attest, it's pretty much the same thing. Spike (black and white domestic shorthair) and his brother Butch (black and white Japanese bobtail) are my two oldest, followed by Angel (white Persian), Bjorn (white and black domestic shorthair), and Salem (black domestic shorthair).
I have a similar problem with my wife. We live in a connected duplex with my father-in-law and brother-in-law. They're nice enough people, and it's great that my father-in-law built an addition onto the back of his house and gave us the front half and charges us minimal rent, but I want to move someplace where it snows in the winter and there are four actual seasons instead of just mild, hot, hotter, and surface of the sun (I live in South Mississippi).

Uh oh, someone has been found out!
PS - As trivialities related to the game, Norine has bought a map maker's kit, chronicler's kit, and compass - trying to feel like a real Pathfinder. Still no Wayfinder, but the compass, despite her internal sense of direction, will give better angles and such for map drawing.
She also upgraded from a chain shirt to a breastplate so, while going slower (Speed 20 with Desna's help), she hopes to have slightly fewer bolts and arrows sprouting from her chest.

GM Derek W |

@Sven - now you'll probably start bothering about me my game too...isn't there some coat closet we GM's can just go to hide in once in a while?
And Targost, what was Yzerman THINKING leaving Giroux off the Olympic roster???
Sorry, maybe you don't even like hockey. If you do, you probably hate me becuase I'm a Flyers fan.
EDIT: @Mez - In a couple of weeks...

Sven Bjornson |
Nope. No coat closets allowed.
It's some kind of cosmic PBP rule that in any given game half your players will have lots of free time and be ready to post at any time and the other half will not.

GM FurtiveZoog |

Hey, I think I have a few PMs in to Derek as well.
Also that half you players are in games with other players that GM for you. WE are one big gaming club!
I need to hover over people's images more since it tells you the main name or two of a person.
A connection map would be interesting, as would (more doable) one of those little world maps to show you where each of your players/GMs are hailing from.

![]() |

Well, I got my Year of the Risen Rune t-shirt, so rerolling away I'm going to be. :-) (With GM approval, anyway.)
Hey, did everyone get the same GM online gameday boon about the Ifrit or the luck bonus? I just got one a bit ago (earlier one was VTT gameday, it turns out), but I am (still) not that interested in playing an ifrit. (Although I could always use a luck bonus, of course.) If someone else didn't get one and would like to, let me know.

![]() |

Yeah, I got the same boon. Can't say it's overwhelming, but it is a nice gesture. My interest in playing an ifrit as a low as you could express mathematically.
Still, I could always build a Tengu sorceror named Ironbeak with a crow familiar named Mangiz. Or hold out for a ratfolk boon so I could build Cluny the Scourge...

![]() |

Yep, I got the Ifrit boon. So far I've been musing up characters with little luck... best I have is a Celestial-bloodline Bloodrager (one of the upcoming ACG classes) who is some kind of fiery angel servant of Sarenrae. I'm not a big fan of barbarians, though, so I doubt that this idea will stick. Sigh. :)
Might wind up floating on over to the boon trading thread for a different race...

![]() |

How's everyone's schedules looking? I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. The next PbP game day will be in March so we might as well start the next module when everyone's ready for it. It'll be my 10th GM credit - my first star! Swanky!
note to self: finish app for Derek's game

![]() |

Swanky, indeed! (I'm at like 7 now, I think, once the Gameday stuff gets all accounted for.)
I'm ready whenever you are, Alice. I'll be playing Norine. :-)
