"If you guys want to start playing, I have started the RPing in the new gameplay thread in the above campaign. Recruitment thread is up as well.
Feel free to add two traits to your current characters and background skills. I have offered that in the recruitment thread."
Will do that today, thank you

GM Mason |

As a matter of fact, for core let's just stick with class and race. Feats, traits, spells, equipment can be anything Paizo published (within reason).
Feel ree to update your characters. Please post your changes here.

Khaz Dourblade |

Background Skills
* Knowledge (History)
* Knowledge (Engineering)
Traits
* Clever Wordplay (Diplomacy uses intelligence instead of charisma)
* Guardian of the Forge (Torag’s sacred duties are to protect the faithful, take lessons from the great craftsmen and strategists of the past, and prepare against dark times. You receive a +1 trait bonus on Knowledge (engineering) and Knowledge (history) checks. One of these skills (your choice) is a class skill for you)
Domains
I'd also like to ask if I can change my protection domain to the subdomain defense.
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric/domains/paizo-domains/p rotection-domain/defense/
My cleric of Torag is now a decent smith (if he has access to a forge), and knows about both engineering and history. If you allow the change in domain, he'll be a bit better at protecting the party as well.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

hey folks, Thanks GM Mason for keeping the game alive, I will add traits and background skills to Sariel and have him ready to roll.

Khaz Dourblade |

Thank you! One more question.
Can I have the archetype Forgemaster?
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/core-races/dwarf/forgemaster-cleric-dwarf/
It's a dwarf-only archetype that just screams 'cleric of Torag.' Saw the archetype and fell in love with it. If not, that's fine. But if so, great. :)

Yes. Anyone can add a Paizo archetype if they would like.

GM Mason |

Thank you. Adding it now
It looks like you will lose some domains though. You ok it's that?

Yup! It hurts really bad. -1 to all saves, losing the ability to give anyone an auto 11 to hit...it hurts. In return I get...
(1) The ability to cast mend at will. Woo...though artificer's touch can be used to destroy enemy armor as a touch attack. Making an enemy fight naked can help the party.
(2) Lead Blades as a spell (that's actually really good, especially at +1 caster level)
(3) Trade channel energy (which I suck at, as a dwarf) for runeforger (which is pretty ok, thanks to divine smith)
It's mainly for flavor. If I'm going to play a priest of Torag, I might as well go all out for it.

Guys how do we remove the old campaign from our listed current campaigns?

Guys how do we remove the old campaign from our listed current campaigns?
The GM has to set it as inactive. It is very frustrating.

GM Mason |

I haven't seen the barbarian post either. If he doesn't post today, I will recruit another.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

Give Luke, sorry, the barbarian some time, he tends to be very patient with GM's, you may want to PM him if you are in a hurry.
Also he has GM'd a lot here, he may be able to tell you how to get the game ste to inactive.

Will do. I'm not in that big of a hurry if he is interested.

Hey, sorry for the slight delay - I am working nights at present, which tends to throw things for six a bit.
In terms of removing the game, there are two options:
1) Contacting customer service, and getting someone else to 'take over' as GM for the thread, which will allow you to mark it as inactive.
2) 'Hide' the gameplay thread (which will remove the campaign from your 'active' list).
I am off to sleep now, but I will update my PC when I have the chance.

Right - all done. Only changes are to add traits and background skills, and re-jig skill ranks as a result. No other alterations.
Traits taken are World Traveller (+1 Sense Motive, class skill) and Bruising Intellect (Intimidate uses INT not CHA, and is a class skill). Together with the re-jigged skills, Arun not has +6 Sense Motive and +7 Intimidate.
Arun has seen something of the world in his travels, enough at least to be wary of making naive judgements of others. However, his homely manner and gentlemanly manners can in duress give way to a clear-spoken and acid manner. Often this demoralizes others, or bullies them into seeing things his way.
Khaz - you handle the diplomacy, I'll handle bullying!

Khaz Dourblade |

Ha! Now we just need someone to Bluff and we'll be good to go. Though in the coming day I might need to rethink my crunch. Was giving some thought and while I love the archetype I worry that on healing I'll be letting you all down

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

for Sariel I added
tratis:
Altruistic Diplomat: Benefit: You gain a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy checks. You must be Lawful Good, Neutral Good, or Chaotic Good to take this trait.
Vigilant Battler:Benefit(s) You gain a +1 trait bonus on all Sense Motive checks. This trait bonus increases to +2 when used to counter a feint in combat.
and Background skills:
Linguistics and Handle animals

Hey GM Mason, can I please run an idea past you? I selected the trait 'bruising intellect' last night for Arun, enabling him to use his INT not CHA for intimidate checks.
I'd like to RP the 'Demoralize Opponent' element of Intimidate as relating to Arun's intelligent use of his illusion powers, rather than wordplay. Ie the victim is shaken not by threats or bullying language, but instead by threatening, bullying minor illusions such as jagged high-pitched noises, a loud and heavy heartbeat, dimming of vision etc.
I think this would be more in character w Arun, and would give more RP opportunities. I would not suggest we meddle in any way with the mechanism of the intimidate check (DC, duration etc) or influence it with any aspect of the magic rules or illusionist feats.
Vanilla intimidate but through intelligent psychological manipulation, not shouting. Hitchcock not Vin Deisel. What do you say?

If you are talking just flavor (no mechanical change), I am all for it!

Avogadro the Astounding |

Sorry for the delay, existential character crisis, all resolved for now.
This character was in a campaign before that crashed, the rest of the group were low charisma munchkins so Av went high Diplomacy, traiting it as a class skill. But this group has all that covered so I think I'll leave diplomacy where it is and go for something else (Though I'm your bluffer, right here)
Second issue, Avogadro originally had a white rabbit familiar that lived under his hat and kept popping up when least desired. But I'm going to stay with a white raven now. It speaking a language that Avogadro doesn't is too good to miss!
So traits, I've gone for
Competitive
and
Ascendant Recollection
Background skills will be Appraise and Perform(Street Magician)
tl;dr I'm all done now.

Khaz Dourblade |

Character finalized. Went back to channeling, as my job is to heal you all. For flavor took separatist for the +10 move speed, so I can keep up with you all. I now have +7 diplomacy as well. My goal is to be a good support character, to ensure that the party remains in good condition.

![]() |

Also, your role is to talk blacksmithing with Arun. As the son of a smith, brought up in a village forge, he has +7 blacksmith skill, too.

Welcome Fergal - and with your ability to purify food and drink, and herbalism skills, welcome indeed. First things first: is there anything you can do about Avogadro? Or is he beyond all help?

GM Mason |

Hello, all.
Thanks to GM Mason for the invite. I'm excited to join the game.
Welcome!

GM Mason |

Added maps and important NPCs to the Campaign info tab for quick reference. Your characters do not have a Falcon's Hollow Environs map yet.

GM Mason |

Feel free to ask questions. She has a good bit of info if you can pry it from her. ;)
Sariel won her over with his charm.

For combat, I plan to average everyone's initiative and roll a group check. I prefer to roll individually, but I have learned it is easier to do group initiative in pbp. I'll roll intitative in groups for the bad guys too. Everyone will have 24 hours to post their turn. If posting is delayed, I will ask someone to act for you. Please put a status update in your combat post (AC, current HP, status effects, active spells etc.)
PS I've been GMing for years, but I make mistakes. Just PM me if you think I missed something. As a matter of fact, PM me any time with questions. I am very reasonable. I'm here to write a joint story and have stress relief from life. I want everyone to enjoy the game!!
Like the previous GM, death is death.

GM Mason |

I'm a big fan of that way of doing initiative. It makes combat go so much faster.
Thank you!
Updated GM avatar for module flavor!

GM Mason |

Average everyone? So we all go together?
Yes. It keeps the GM from waiting for individuals to post. It also allows those who check more regularly to attack when they check the boards instead of waiting for one person to post. It speeds combat up significantly from my experience.

Bereft of funds as he is, Arun will purchase only meager trail rations for himself before leaving the town.
Oh, and he'd like to ask Laurel if, as a token assistance for the hard tasks ahead, she might allow him to take that small phial of bleach. If she wants cash for it, so be it. Regardless, once he has it, he will pocket it, but only after wrapping the glass neck of the bottle in a strip of cloth, to make it less slippery to grip...
I heartily endorse group initiative. Maintaining momentum is of the essence here, and this really helps us avoid spending days waiting for a single round of a fight to complete.

GM Mason |

I love the RP guys! I do rewards for good RP.
Laure will give you the vial. When I get a chance, I will spoiler RP the scene!

Jean-Pierre de Suis |

I have finally gotten around to updating Jean-Pierre.
Not quite as buff as I could have managed, but I wanted to keep him human, rather then shifting him over to the solid option of being a half-orc...

Khaz Dourblade |

Half orcs are indeed my favorite. But it is hard to say no to +2 Str and +2 Con as a human.
Or if you are willing to spend 3 feats become part giant, get immunity to electricity and +1d6 Electricity damage to all attacks. Make that 20Str really part of the character.
And @GM:
:D

GM Mason |

You can post your movement like this:
Arun moves to F11 (making sure to avoid AOOs) and casts color spray starting in E12, hitting two of the wolves. DC 14 Will
Of course you can post more fluff if you want to flavor it up. I'll actually move the tokens.

What wait now - there's not going to be fighting is there? That could be dangerous. No one warned me about fighting!

Oops. DM: Seeing the above made me go back and double check Arun's stats. I notice that they're still down as a 15-point build, not the 20-points you posted at the top of the recr thread. Mind if I adjust, later today?

Hey GM I just noticed that Sariel is still at the 20 point build that you had us start at, not the 35-point build that would make him a demi-god. Mind if I adjust...
Hey, it was worth a try :-)
