Hralyk the Crooked
Hralyk retrieves a flask of alchemist's fire from his belt pouch and, same as the others, throws it at the swarm. However, he is distracted by a wayward centipede crawling up his foot, and misses.
Move action: Retrieve stored item
Standard action: Attack swarm
Attack (Alchemist's Fire, Ranged Touch): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Damage (Alchemist's Fire): 1d6 ⇒ 3
Miss direction: 1d8 ⇒ 2 (NE)
Not an action: 5' step, as indicated on map

Hurt badly by the swarm, the dog elects to run for his life past Hralyk towards the north.
Ramenhotep hurls a burning vial which explodes at the contact of the centipede.
1d8 ⇒ 8
Jordan's aim is slightly off, and his alchemist's fire explodes right next to Telka, Ramenhotep, himself and the swarm. All four take 1 splash damage.
Hralyk completely misses his throw but Desna guides his arm, but the vial explodes right next to where he intended it, an area also covered with the crawling centipede. It takes full damage!
Initiative - round 1 - bold may act
1. Jordan, Telka
2. Centipede Swarm (21 damage)
3. Zeltyieli, Hralyk, Ramenhotep
Telka: I've already applied the "one round later" damage. Those who scored a direct hit (Ramen, Hralyk) can also roll their d6.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Right. Added the "missed" fire to my inventory -- thanks, Telka, not sure how I missed it.
Telka Beast-Talker
Telka's arm remains amazingly accurate - unfortunately the acid splashs harmlessly off the bulk of the swarm.
ranged touch, no penalties included: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
acid: 1d6 ⇒ 1*1.5 = 1
Ugh, not again... the half-orc thinks as she considers the impending tide of insects.
Jordan Andosano
If Jordan can, he will move away after tossing the flask of acid errantly.
I moved Jordan down the hall, move him back next to Ramenhotep if he cannot move. I just got back to a regular computer. I post during the day from phone to keep things moving.
GM Lithrac

Jordan, taking a flask of alchemist's fire/acid/etc is a move action (provided it's stored in your belt/bandolier/etc and not inside your backpack), and throwing it is a standard action. Hence you don't have a second move action to move away. I moved you back.
More than half of the swarm has alredy scattered or was incinerated, yet the mass of centipedes doesn't seem to give up. They crawl on Telka and Jordan, covering them with a thousand hurtful bites.
Automatic damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
As before, two DC 13 Fort saves are required, the first against poison, the second against distraction. Moreover, the dog must save again against poison since he failed his initial save.
Note to self: Already applied Hralyk's "one round later" damage in the total below, Ramenhotep still needs to roll it.
Initiative - round 2 - bold may act
1. Jordan, Telka
2. Centipede Swarm (26 damage)
3. Zeltyieli, Hralyk, Ramenhotep
Telka Beast-Talker
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Telka skin begins to swell from the painful centipede bites. Also out of alchemists tricks, she also sprints down the hallway after Ramenhotep.
I looked up standard centipede poison. Hope this is correct.
1d4 dex, 1/rd 6 rounds
1d4 ⇒ 1
Next round fort save.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
GM Lithrac

Poison - Dex damage for Jordan: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Absolutely correct, Telka.
As all the party retreats, Ramenhotep's fire finishes to burn, its later effects scattering the swarm for good!
End combat. I don't think there's any unresolved poison, but if there is, continue rolling until you succeed at a DC 13 Fort save.
Despite the victory, you are covered with many bite marks and sore wounds the centipede left. What's more, the dog appears to have run away, and doesn't respond to any calls.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
The swarm dispersed, Zeltyieli draws upon his link to the Walker of Worlds, feeling the energy fill him until his lungs begin to burn, and then releases it to flow through his friends, filling them briefly with a runner's euphoria as the energy washes the wounds away.

Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Zeltyieli asks, "Shall I heal it? I could channel again, if more of you are hurt?"
Ramenhotep the Risen
|
Ramenhotep comes limping back to the party. "Maybe before we go further we should make a trip back up to the alchemist's shop and restock. I'd hate to get caught with our pants down again, so to speak."
Hralyk the Crooked
Hralyk shakes his head briefly. "If we're concerned that the king will not appreciate our presence upon our return, we should continue to investigate while we have a chance."
That said, he won't argue too fervently; if it comes down to it, he's fine going back, it just might mean wiping out the mites..
Telka Beast-Talker
Telka scoffs a bit at Jordan. "I'll heal your beast. It costs me little."
She spends but a moment invoking ancient songs.

Telka Beast-Talker
"Perhaps we can explore the rooms coming off the large room with colonnades next"
West out of the room with columns?
Might as well heal myself a bit while I'm at it - and yes I got the channels from before.
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Jordan Andosano
Jordan nods and follows to the rear with his dog firmly leashed.
"The mite king cannot be allowed to assemble his magic crown. We may need the magic ourselves."
Jordan seems to have taken out the bracelet and is examining it again.

The corridor west of the spider lair leads to a circular room. It is empty save for a ten-foot-wide circular pool filled with clear water. The water appears to be only six inches deep and is crystal clear, leaving the tiled decoration of a swirling vortex plainly visible on the pool’s basin.
GM Lithrac
|
This pool appears to have curative powers. Ramenhotep is able to tell his companions that whoever drinks of these waters shall be healed of physical wounds as well as deeper scars (it heals damage as well as ability damage), but it only works once every 24 hours. Any water that is removed from the pool loses its properties.
Hralyk the Crooked
Perception (w/Darkvision): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Hralyk looks around the room, then grunts, "Let's continue; I am eager to finish our exploration and finish this 'quest' of ours."
Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Zeltyieli watches the fountain waters carefully for a while, a look of wonder on his face as he considers its magical healing abilities Surely there's some spark of the divine in these waters... Truly some sort of miracle... He is shaken out of his wonderment by Telka's statement, and then falls back into line to follow Hralyk. "I wonder if we could make a portable fountain like that? Think of how useful it would be!"

Stairs descend into the room from the north, a heavy stone door blocks passage to the west, and an eastern corridor exits between cells blocked by doors of rusty iron bars. Scattered about the room are a number of instruments of torture from bygone days, now mostly gone to rot and ruin. Both of the celles are occupied. They hold two deformed, vaguely human-shaped monsters that grow infuriated by your presence, and rips the rusted locks open as you enter!

Jordan, those are sinspawns, ancient creations from the warped minds of the evil wizards of Thassilon. They are born of sin, and are related to one of the seven cardinal ones. These, from what you can say, are most certainly linked to Wrath. Two questions.
As ancient Thassilonian incantations now echo again within these halls of horror, the two monstrosities Jordan calls "Sinspawns of Wrath" close in on Hralyk and lunge at him with their vile maw. Luckily, they are too hasty and their pointy teeth close in on thin air.

Jordan completes his summons and a small earth elemental appears flanking with the large fighter. Jordan himself delays, thinking the sinspawns should be outmatched now.
Greg M. is me. Two questions, special defenses and healing or regeneration. Let the attacks surprise us.
It takes a mighty swing at the sinspawn caught between them.

Earth Glide (Ex)
A burrowing earth elemental can pass through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth except metal as easily as a fish swims through water. If protected against fire damage, it can even glide through lava. Its burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or other sign of its presence. A move earth spell cast on an area containing a burrowing earth elemental flings the elemental back 30 feet, stunning the creature for 1 round unless it succeeds on a DC 15 Fortitude save.
Earth Mastery (Ex)
An earth elemental gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls if both it and its foe are touching the ground. If an opponent is airborne or waterborne, the elemental takes a –4 penalty on attack and damage rolls. These modifiers apply to bull rush and overrun maneuvers, whether the elemental is initiating or resisting these kinds of attacks. (These modifiers are not included in the statistics block.)

Nothing at all, sadly (or luckily for you?).
The freshly summoned elemental delivers a mighty blow at the sinspawn, empowered by Telka's encouragements. Meanwhile, Jordan indulges in his favorite sin - sloth.

Ramenhotep the Risen

Ramenhotep is reluctant to clog up the hallway but nevertheless steps up next to Hralyk, infuses his quarterstaff with arcane energy, and swings!
Swift for +1 quarterstaff.

Hralyk steps forward and swings at the sinspawn with his falchion, but misses. (Perhaps he was distracted by the fact that Ramenhotep actually hit with his quarterstaff? :-D)

Zeltyieli Alikathesu
Zeltyieli steps toward the strange creature, pulling off his scarf in a practiced motion as he rushes forward, and then lashing out just as he steps into reach... or, at least, that was what he intended to do... Instead, he clearly starts his swing too early, the blades passing harmlessly before the creature. "That was less impressive than I'd hoped..."
