On the to hit, it would be -2 for the range, and -4 for soft cover, so 3 total, missing the 5 to hit an intersection.
Miss direction: 1d8 ⇒ 6
It flies in the direction of E9, but one more square because of the range increment, so F10.
Wuliem's bomb flies high and wide, hitting the top of the building and exploding harmlessly.
The brown-cloaked man, sensing perhaps that this is not their day, begins to run away.
DD's attack on LW: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
You can see the woman with the face mask turn to attack him as he runs, but she apparently misses.
The blond woman just stands there, laughing and smiling woozily.
The masked woman rushes forward and, out of pure evil spite, bends down, putting all of her force into a coup de grace on the helpless Exitium, hurling insults and spitting curses as she does so.
No AoO from Narvik as she has cover from him.
Coup de Grace: 1d6 + 2 + 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (3) + 2 = 10
10 points of damage to Exitium and a DC 20 Fort save or death.
... well, fortunately not real death, but temp. banishment...

![]() |

Exitium's save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
As the blow cuts the tiger's throat its features melt away in a cloud of black smoke.
Have I called you useless today X?
Ralklain watches the scene but have no time to avoid it, altough he looks as mad as the blonde woman:
Oh freaking god, you're SO SMART! Take this dumb beach!
He loads his crossbow and shoots at the masked Nicki Minaj:
Crossbow: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 = 181d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

GM FurtiveZoog |

We'll always have our love, Exitium. Think, now you'll get to have a vacation after a hard day's work, and won't have that guy bugging you.
Unfortunately, Narvik's position means you are firing into a potential melee, so there is a -4. :(
Ralklain's crossbow bolt flies true but bounces off the invisible shield protecting the woman.
I have a question in to Pizzmic, so his sleep spell is pending.
I've updated the map, Wuliem. E7 is building.
Everyone else is up.

Eyes on the prize, Alia...
Alia steps out, behind Wuliem (to square D1), and locking eyes with the incognito initiate, she intones a divine Command:
Approach!

![]() |

Narvik will shift to the right and casts Death's Touch at the manic woman once more.
Attack vs. Touch AC: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
The woman, once again, evades the touch of the half-orc oracle.

GM FurtiveZoog |

Masked woman's will save, Command: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8
Masked woman's will save, Sleep: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20
Blond woman's will save, Sleep: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Pizzmic finishes his sleep incantation and, while the masked woman resists, the blond woman collapses to the ground, asleep and chuckling!
Red circle means asleep.
Talor's turn, and then the masked woman.

GM FurtiveZoog |

Delaying Talor's turn for now.
Pizzmic took out the blond woman - for now, at least - which is a pity since I used casting to make her into a AC22 tank (mage armor (+4 armor ac), shield (+4 shield ac), shield of faith (+2 defl. ac). Oh well.
The masked woman, seemingly against her will, steps forward, as per Alia's command.
Ralklain, are your "Stats" including mage armor for Ralklain as well as Exitium?
Short Sword: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 91d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Not confirmed.
6 points of damage.
Coming forward, she stabs Ralklain in the stomach with her short sword, and then she makes a strange movement and seems to split into two identical forms! Cursing and spitting at you, neither image shows any sign of surrendering.
All of the good guys can now go again.

![]() |

Exitium's AC is 20 with Mage Armor. I use a Chain Shirt so I don't need it, normal AC is 17.
If you don't mind me asking, wasn't copycat a move action?

![]() |

Also: as per Command
Approach: On its turn, the subject moves toward you as quickly and directly as possible for 1 round. The creature may do nothing but move during its turn, and it provokes attacks of opportunity for this movement as normal.

![]() |

So the halfling is down, the blond woman is looney, the masked woman is under Alia's control, and the brown-cloaked man was listening to his Iron Maiden...right?
Talor loads his pistol and squeezes off another shot against the masked commanded woman.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5

GM FurtiveZoog |

Alia - Yes, my mistake! She can't do any of those things I was describing because of the Command.
Ralklain - So, ignore the damage and the illusionary image. Yes, it is (or was) a move action which, if she wasn't under the influence of Command, would have worked, I think: 5' step, standard action (attack), non-distance move action (Copycat).
Talor - That is about the extent of it. Loony woman is also asleep. With firing into melee and soft cover (-8), the shot would still miss - except that you aren't good so her Protection from Good doesn't apply, lol.
Narvik - We should ask the messageboards whether you can 'hold the charge' when you miss with that touch attack.
Narvik's death touch AoO: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 161d6 ⇒ 2
Talor, with his neutrality in questions of good and evil, is able to shoot the Masked woman, and Narvik gets a fortuitous attack with his touch of death against her, causing small grotesque wounds to open up.

![]() |

If we get a turn now Narvik will strike the woman he just hit the the opportunity attack with his morningstar.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

![]() |

Pizzmic looks at the scene and visualizes how this could play out to the townguard. pizzmicvwill search the tied up woman for any items that would identify who she is and looks for any loot that could be salvaged for the society as payment for their transgession.
Pizzmic while looting the bodies keeps one eye up the alley for appoarching guards preception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 if notices any movement through the mist that appears to be guards or the like he will spear head the conversation explaining how the four people laid in ambush presumingly thinking we were easy targets and were sorely midtaken. He will explain the story in such a manner that makes the use of lethal force was the last option and attempted to detain the criminals but two of them fought to the death. diplomancy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

GM FurtiveZoog |

Does anyone want to try to stabilize and/or tie up the masked woman?
Wuliem sees no obvious signs of trouble.
After a minute or so the obscuring mists fade. Curious onlookers and random pedestrians start to filter into the alleyway and the watch is called.
On the masked woman, whom you find out to be a Deandre Dulay, the apparent leader of the group of thugs, you find a potion of cure light wounds, a potion of shield of faith; a masterwork chain shirt, a short sword, a dagger, the gray mask, an unholy symbol of Norgorber, and 28 gp.
On the maniacal woman, a Halli Fosta, you find potions of cure light wounds (2), a scroll of burning hands, three used scrolls (mage armor, obscuring mist, and shield), a scroll of unseen servant, a wand of disguise self (5 charges), a dagger, a light crossbow with 20 bolts, a fan of pigeon feathers, a small pouch of trimmed fingernails, and 53 gp.
The mustachioed halfling had a potion of cure light wounds, a masterwork chain shirt, a greataxe, a block of wax in a metal tin, a fine comb with a long handle, a bottle of whiskey and four silver cups, and 25 gp.

![]() |

Alia helps Ralklain secure the thugs with rope. Once they have been secured, she will Channel Energy, to heal everyone, detainees included.
Channel Energy: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
You have some explaining to do, my dear she tells the red-haired woman, after removing her mask.

![]() |

If anyone needs it Narvik will cast Cure Light Wounds upon them. If an ally does not require it then he will assist one of the enemies if the healing is needed to revive them for questioning.
Heal for: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

GM FurtiveZoog |

Talor finds that the whiskey is good enough to drink.
Alia's burst of channeling energy and Narvik's cure bring the formerly-masked woman around. The maniacal blond, no longer experiencing the joy of battle, is now quite sullen, although the red-haired woman says, "I would have preferred to die," before spitting and cursing and then remaining quiet.
The guard comes, eventually, breaking up the performance art group which likely was in league with the band of thugs who ambushed you. You explain what happened and, knowing a couple of the thugs' histories and that you are Pathfinders - "many find new Pathfinders easy hits" - they let you go. They also seem impressed that you left so many of the thugs alive. They take your description of the brown-cloaked man.
At the end of the day, Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin thanks you for carrying out his tasks, and assures you that not every mission for the Pathfinder Society involves running errands around Absalom. He congratulates you on proving their skill and responsibility, and promises them a new assignment in the near future to take you beyond Absalom’s unassailable walls.
Well, that's the end of the scenario! Sorry for the rapid end - the denouement is a bit lacking in Pathfinder scenarios.
Each character will receive 417 gp, 2 Fame Points, and 2 Prestige Points. You can also choose (but by no means need to) to spend your money on items found in the adventure. The special items are:
Elixir of hiding (250 gp)
Potion of invisibility ( 300 gp)
Scroll of remove disease ( 375 gp)
Wand of disguise self (5 charges, 75 gp)
Wand of knock (11 charges; 990 gp)
Day Jobs: If you want to make a day job roll to add to your loot, you can do so here and I will add it to your total.
I'll get the chronicle sheets up in a few days, sending you each a link to the scan.
Great job and thanks for playing!

Sooooo matt I would like to donate something to your gm cause. Anyway I can donate something for doing these last two modules?

GM FurtiveZoog |

That's very kind of you, Pizzmic, and I appreciate it. I have added a few $3.99 PDFs to FurtiveZoog's "Wishlist" that I might run someday.
The next scenario I am running is Mists of Mwangi (Tier 1-2) for Online Gameday, and I'll be seeing some of you back there. I am only going to run one session of it, at least for now.
After that, I have been meaning to run the Frostfur Captives (Tier 1-2)(in my Wishlist).
I have now reported this session, so you should all be able to see session credit on the "Sessions" tab of you characters. Let me know if there are any problems or discrepancies!

![]() |

I missed all the fun while toiling away at work!
Thanks everyone for another fine and fun adventure!
Wuliem will do some crafting: craft alchemy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Thanks as always Matt and I do hope to be able to fit into your next game!

![]() |

I can't go through Mists of Mwangi, since I've already played it with a Cleric (yes I've been joining some games ^^), but the Frostfur captives sounds good for me, and maybe the useless tiger actually DO something next time (aside from dying, of course)...
