"Those are good ideas. And if we can bottleneck them like Hi-C suggested, perhaps we can also rig a water balloon cluster of them to drop from above into that bottlenecked area, or a bucket full of water to pour over them as they move through."

Within the galley you are able to find plenty of salt based seasonings and even a few bricks of pure salt as well. The Dr. is able to whip up 4 pressurized containers of the salt water mixture, which will effectively be grenades that deal 1d6 points of damage to the akatas.

There is enough salt left over to potentially set up a trap if you can figure out how to make one.

Will you head to the lower hold or the engine room next?

Just to make things simple, let's set the 4x grenades up on a trip wire and use boxes to create cover. There are only 2 of them so all of us blasting will take them down fairly quickly.

True, there may be some damage if salt water is routed through the sprinklers, but whomever ultimately claims this ship will probably prefer a bit of damage to having live demon dogs running around! Not sure if we have enough salt water to reroute through the fire sprinklers though... Lemme see..."

"But if not, we can use the leftover saltwater to maybe rig up that tripwire to drop a bucket of water on the choke point? Then if that doesn't stop them, either another tripwire to drop the pressurized salt water grenades on them or we just throw them."

If the sprinkler plan doesn't work, then I suggest we rig a bucket trap to dump water on them at the chokepoint. We can then rig more grenade traps after the bucket trap to continue dumping water on them. How's that sound?

Handsome knows he should be able to clear the sprinklers in the engine room and that you have enough of the salt water to guarantee about 6 seconds of salty rain in engineering.

After finding an access panel near the entrance, him and the Dr. are able to siphon all the salt water into the emergency sprinkler water line. After several inevitable rounds of space rock-tablet-plasma cutters the goblins finally agree to press the button together and...

salty rain: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 6, 2, 3) = 24

While you are unable to see the fruits of your enginuity, you can certainly hear them. Seconds after the button was pressed the hiss of the sprinklers is heard, followed immediately by the howls of anger that quickly turn into whines and whimpers that stop a second before the sprinkler system works through all the salt water.
