Thank you Ma'am. This is more then enough for my mid day meal.

"As you wish." Sarianna replies and returns behind the bar. She watches the table where the guests left the cards and thinks about if she shall clean that table up or let it be.

Darius sips at his glass of wine while everyone finished up their drinks and their meals. Over his glass he keeps scanning the area. A little paranoia creeping in.
It's not paranoia if they are out to get you he muses to himself with a chuckle.

Stam will finish his wine, order some food and eat it as well. He will also buy some more feed for Ned.

Just because you have paranoia doesn't mean they are not after you.

Once all finish their meal and Ned got a nice place in the stable all move on to Kendra.

As Kendra opens the door Jominda greets her. "Hello Kendra. May I stay with you tonight. As you may have heard I got seriously hurt last night but I managed to annoy Martha out of my house who should look after me. What do you say?"

"Sure. The more the merrier. Come all in." Kendra replies.

"As always your kindness is immesirable my dear. Tonight should be interesting."

Stam will walk behind the rest, as he approaches Kendra he will bow and offer his hand for her to shake.

"Miss I am honored by your hospitality, your friends here have said nothing but greatness about you. Might I bother you for a place to rest this evening? Also do you by chance have a shed or somewhere outside of the main house that I can look at a book. For your own protection, if what your friends here have said is true."

As I said, Miss Lorrimor has told us the most so far about this book. She might be able to help with the research as unfortunately we really do need to know more about the Splaterman's spellbook.

Miss Kendra replies "I'm out of rooms at the moment, but the Outward Inn has rooms at a fair rate."

"About reading the book. If it's that cursed spellbook you can read it in the house. But be warned that it is cursed. It spells out your name in blood. Besides that nothing happened all the time Grergof had it here."

"If you deem that too dangerous, we can move a small table and an old chair behind the house."

"If you believe that nothing major will come out of it then I am ok with that, as for preparation who plans to be in the room?"

After asking the question Stam will consult his spell book. He will lift up his mask of Nethys and begin to murmur something in an arcane like tongue.

Protection from Evil, should help me out. He will also cast it on the others if they want to stay.

"We're all going to look what you do, don't we?" Jominda asks.

Don't split the party in a horror scenario! :P

"Count me in." Darius says and lays a hand on his sword.

Then he pulls the book out of his backpack and sets it on the table. Then he retreats to stand guard near the main door to the room.

I will also switch out open/close for Read Magic. I will be using Quick Study to do this.

Stam will look at the group gathered around, "I only have enough magical power left to do 5 castings of... well 4 now since I have protected myself. So Grergof, Darius, Jominda and someone else or is that enough?"

"I'll take my own." Kendra replies and casts protection from evil using her bonded amulet.

No one has introduced me to your third member

Spugnoir is upstairs snoring in his bed.

"Don't worry. I've got this." Darius says as he waves his hand and small motes of light fan out to everyone not protected. Casts Communal Protection from Evil

Stam will set the book down on the table, he will begin his castings.

Holding up a small shield he will mumble the words of power and a breast place of force covers his chest. Blowing the the arcane point to use metamixing to extend it to 8 hours. Stam will then activate Detect magic and then Read Magic, after he feels protected Stam will sit down and open the book.

Spugnoir scratches and snores

Stam will close the book and look around at those gathered.

"I see what you mean about the name being written in blood along the edges, I think if you flip fast enough then it will keep you from going mad. That said, I have a question. There are a number of spells in here that I do not posses in my own spell book. I do not wish to keep this book because it is used to destroy your not so friendly ghost."

Stam stops and takes a drink then continues,
"I wish to use this night to copy the spells from the book if you will allow me, then tomorrow mid day we could visit this Harrow Stone and attempt to dismiss this ghost. Is that acceptable?"

"I'm okay with that if everyone else is."

In copying the spells won't you risk going mad? I assume you will not be flipping quickly while copying them.

And how exactly do you destroy the ghost with the book? I think I missed something.

"Once he losses the spells he will be weakened, from what I think it is the fear of his spell book being taken away that will cause his death."

Ok. So we need to destroy the book. Can we just do it here, or does there need to be some sort of ritual?

But that still does not solve how you plan to not go insane, while copying the spells.

"Talent skill and determination? I think I can do it. Maybe do shifts of monitoring me for issues and stop me if you see something?"

What spells are you planning on copying? Given the source I would not be surprised if there were a number of unsavory spells in there.

After some further thought on the subject Stam tells the group, "Right now I do not have all the resources I will need to copy the spells I wish to take. I think it possible for me to rip some of the spells out that I don't need and save the ones I do need."

Stam then puts the book in the centre of the table, "So I can rest tonight and be ready to go tomorrow morning. I will head back to the inn if no one else has any objections."

If you are not copying the spells tonight, I suggest you mark the pages you want saved and then leave the book with me. Until that spirit is destroyed I do not want to risk it infecting anyone else.

"Tea and cookies someone?" Kendra asks and gets up to walk to the kitchen.

"I'll take some." Jominda replies with a smile.

"Mmmm... cookies..."

Kendra disappears into the kitchen and comes back a short time later with a tablet with a large pot of tea, cups and a bowl full of cookies. She pours one cup for Jominda, Darius and herself. "Please help yourself to the cookies."

"Thank you." Jominda takes the cup and some cookies she places in front of her.

I should probably practice a little with my new toy and then head to bed at sundown so I am well rested for tomorrow. We have a tough fight ahead of us. The Splatterman is not going to go softly into the great beyond.

Mr. Redgrave please to sure we have that secured before we all go to bed.
He points at the book.

If you all have nothing else, I will be in the back yard playing target practice with a fencepost.

Stam will mark the pages he wants and head back into town

Darius takes the book up to his room if no one objects and takes a belt and wraps it around the book so it's closed and then puts it in a cupboard under his own heavy backpack.

Grergof wraps up his work to get aquanted with his new bow, talks to Kendra and Jominda for a bit and heads to bed early.

"Where am I going to sleep?" Jominda asks as the tea is drunken and the cookies eaten.

"There is a chesterfield in my room. You can sleep on that. Or you make yourself comfortable in the lounge if you prefer that." Kendra offers.

"Chesterfield is fine. I'm not going to sleep in the common room with all those guys around. A little privacy is a good thing." She then retreats together with Kendra to her room.

Im the middle of the night Gibs wakes up in his cell and walks to the cell door he grabs the bars and starts rattling at them with unnatural power. In a deep growling voice he demands [b]"You damned door. Open already." His eyes a glassy glare into the distance.

Spugnoir hugs his hedgehog plushie and snores.
