The library is a vast collection of books that deal with the area, the wildlife and the history of the area. Many of that is written in journals of hunters from the area over the decades.
This allows for knowledge geography, history and nature checks with a +2 bonus. But this only helps if you have a question and take 1d4 hours of time to find out. And only bards get to take 10 on knowledge checks.

Stam is trying to find out more about the local Werewolf tribes, how and where they operate and anything to do with where their lairs are. He will take all day only taking breaks for some food and the bathroom.

After two hours of research Stam has come up with quite the information about the werewolves.
While over a dozen distinct werewolf packs live within the Shudderwood, most packs trace their lineages to one of five tribes native to the region. Most of these tribes have two names: that which they call themselves, and a more common epithet by which most outsiders know them.
Dorzhanevs or Broken Ones: These lycanthropes settle in remote or isolated territories, building small provincial communities near the wood’s edge. For the most part, they pose as simple farmers or trappers, occasionally traveling to larger communities to sell or trade for goods. They live and hunt in small packs, targeting lone travelers or those who stray from larger groups. Physically smaller than the other tribes, the Broken Ones transform into red wolves. Their pack structure is matriarchal, and their current tribe leader is the druid Cybrisa Dorzhanev.
Jezeldans or Demon Wolves: The smallest and most recently formed pack in the Shudderwood, the Demon Wolves are an amalgam of newly aff licted werewolves, whose pitiful existence is typically scorned by most natural lycanthropes, and exiles from other tribes, all worshipers of the demon lord Jezelda, Mistress of the Hungry Moon. Their current tribe leader, an antipaladin named Adimarus Ionacu, was once in fact an aff licted werewolf who willingly contracted the disease in devotion to his demonic patron. As a boon, Jezelda transformed him into a natural lycanthrope, and bade him convert more werewolves to her worship. To date, Adimarus’s missionary zeal has been quite successful; the black-furred Jezeldans are one of the fastest-growing tribes in the region, and may soon rise as the new lords of the wood.
Mordrinacht or Silverhides: The Mordrinacht, colloquially known as the Silverhides for their gray-white fur, are more aggressive than the Broken Ones, yet possess more composure and subtlety than the other tribes. The Mordrinacht rarely form standard packs, instead living much of their lives as solitary individuals or lone wolves. Only in times of great importance do they unite and form organized packs. More so than all the others, the Mordrinacht have been successful at blending in with normal humans and living secretly within their communities, with a few bold individuals even settling in some of Ustalav’s major cities. Descended from those aff licted with lycanthropy by the ancient high priest of Desna, the Mordrinacht have long gathered at the Stairs of the Moon to pay homage to the spirit of their ancestor, the vilkacis. It is no secret that the Silverhides’ current leader, Mathus Mordrinacht, has had designs on the position of packlord over all the packs of the Shudderwood for some time.
Prince’s Wolves: Varisian werewolves with ties to the Sczarni crime family, the Prince’s Wolves were created as part of Prince Andriadus Virholt’s efforts to rid his lands of the agents of the Whispering Tyrant centuries ago. The Prince’s Wolves maintain a tight pack structure and spend much of their time traveling in small family groups, performing or pickpocketing to support themselves before moving on to do it again somewhere else. The Prince’s Wolves transform into wolves with brown or gray fur, and their current tribe leader is a roguish scoundrel named Rhakis Szadro.
Vollensag or Primals: The smallest of the Shudderwood’s tribes, the Vollensag are also the most homogenous, as they are all descended from the ancient Kellid tribes who once inhabited these lands before they were driven out by the invading Varisians. The Primals’ ability to transform into large gray dire wolves makes them an inf luential force among the wolves of the wood. The Vollensag tribe leader, Kvalca Sain, is packlord over all the wolves of the Shudderwood.
The werewolves are ruled by a single packlord, chosen from one of the five tribes, and that new a packlord must consume the heart of her predecessor to claim the title. The Prince’s Wolves, have historically been enemies of the Whispering Tyrant and his minions.

"Interesting, they have the hierarchy of wolves but are dependant upon humans at times to stay alive. I will have to pass this information along."
Stam will take his notes and go back to the party, explaining to them all of which he knows.
"The Vollenstags are the current pack leaders, but Demon wolves are going to try to change that. I feel that we need to now allow this to happen since the Demon wolves as their name implies worst demons and it would cause more issues on the country side."

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Grergof greets Kroitzcer and softly says:
That man is determined to get himself killed by werewolves isn't he?
Thank you for the work on the boars yesterday, you took two of them down.
I had hoped that Sir Ariesir would see reason after killing those large creatures, but I see now he either has a death wish or is on a crusade.

GM Foxy |
"You're welcome." Kroitzcer replies playing it down, but refrains from commenting on Duristan's motivations. But he let's out a sigh.
"But I have a request on Sir Graydon's behalf. I'm tasked with retrieving the body of Echtmoor Dravin. It would be best if you could come along and show me where you found him. But at least I'd need a description that is more detailed than 'somewhere on the way here in the woods'. Would you be willing to help me out on this one Sir?"

GM Foxy |
The group changes into their travelling gear again, Kroitzcer has their mounts prepared and off it goes back the path where the group came from. The wood looks the same along the path and if it weren't for Grergof's attempt to mark the way as you followed the calls for help you wouldn't have found it.
The only other clue is some rustling in the trees. But more of the remaining Ettercaps isn't seen this time. Echtmoor Dravin doesn't look good and smells worse. But rolled up in a thick blanket on the last horse it is bearable.
The way back is also uneventful but the dead body at the tree is still no nice sight. The animals of the wood have started eating it starting with the face and the hands. The bones start showing. You're back from this excursion around afternoon for tea.

Then we have a lot of digging to do.
Grergof pulls out the shovel tied to his pack and changes from his heavy armor into his chain shirt. He tucks the armor and weapons into his pack and puts it on the ground near his companions. (Note: he does keep his mithral dagger on him just in case)
Two of us are going to be focused on digging, so the rest of you should keep watch. There are those fey spider things in the trees and I would not be suprised if some werewolf packs are about.
After moving over to the area they select for a grave he starts digging.

GM Foxy |
After digging for half an hour and reaching a depth of four foot you suddenly break through and land in a small tunnel with the shovel. While you still wonder what that might be a raging badger comes out of the tunnel all claws and teeth.
Initiative Badger: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Initiative Grergof: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Brother Grergof Varsk |

What the? Ahh!
Grergof pulls out his dagger and stabs at the badger as soon as it gets close.
Dagger - Power Attack: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 12 - 2 = 28
Damage: 1d4 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 4 = 11

Darius Redgrave |

Darius clears his throat. Then says "I did not know Echtmoor Dravin. But he will live on in his friends and families thoughts and deeds. May he watch over all of them the rest of their days." He finishes.
"A moment of silence please."

Brother Grergof Varsk |

No matter what he was, everyone deserves a proper burial.

GM Foxy |
"If he was a werewolf and got tied to the tree afterwards I have an idea who might have done this. But no, I don't know who the man was." Kroitzcer replies with the - 'who else would do such shit' expression on his face.
As the ceremony is over Kroitzcer gets on his horse and leads the group back to the lodge where you miraculously still arrive in time for tea.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

We need to talk to the madam to find out more about the visitors. Do you want me to talk to the madan, or do the two of you still want to do this?
Grergof asks Spugnoir and Darius.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Ok then, let me see what I can find out.
Grergof changes out of his armor and makes himself look presentable. He keeps only hisdagger and heads over to meet Madam Ivanja.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

I think that depends on just what services you offer...
Grergof says after sitting down.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

How much for a Harrowing and some additional information?

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Grergof will draw a card.
Lets see what the cards tell us before you commit to that.

Madame Ivanja |

You could have chosen yourself
Card: 1d8 ⇒ 1
"This is the Carnival. It is the chaotic neutral card of wisdom. It represents illusions and false dreams." Ivanja tells.
She takes the card back, shuffles the deck and lays a harrowing. Watching the cards come together Ivanja becomes very serious. "You must face a powerful force yet unseen that is manipulating the current situation, both in the Shudderwood and beyond. This force is steadily growing in both power and malevolence, and has the potential to threaten Ustalav and the indeed the whole world, yet you are ultimately destined to have a hand in determining its fate."

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
The cards speak truth, much is going on here. I seek information from you not for political gain or to advance my personal wealth, but rather to protect you and your girls from threats both immediate and long term. Surely a capable business woman such as yourself understands that doing something unusual to protect yourself and your business is the proper choice sometimes.
The information I seek from you is directly related to this threat the cards talked about. Telling me about the men with the demon familiar who visited you for a single night a week or so ago will in the end protect you and yours. It really is the best choice to ensure your own long term safety and profit.
By the way, what does she look like?

Madame Ivanja |

The avatar is the original art and with the name you find the rest on google
"I remember that evening. Only four guests visited the watchtower that night, all enjoying the services of one of my courtesans. If you are interested, I can arrange a meeting with the woman who tended to the guests on that evening — for the proper fee of course." She writes a number on a note, folds it and shoves it over the table.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Grergof glances at the note then says:
They all visited the same woman? Interesting.
Although, If she was half as intelligent and attractive as you, then I suppose I can understand why.
Please arrange.. No wait before you do, do you have any idea why they might have all sought out this one woman?

Madame Ivanja |

"They didn't ask for her specifically." Inavja replies and gets up. "Follow me."
Ivanja leads Grergof to one of the private bedchambers on the tower’s second floor. A pretty Vudrani woman, wearing heavy eyeliner and clad in nothing but a translucent silken scarf, waits within. Ivanja introduces the woman as Niama, then wishes Grergof a pleasurable evening, and shuts the door behind her as she exits.
You're supposed to leave the coins with her before being left alone with the ohther woman.
