Discuss your character ideas for the adventure here.
I'd like to begin play on Wednesday the 8th, Saturday the 11th at the latest.
Welcome to the game.

Pirate Rob here. I am ready to go whenever.
My preference is to bring Harada "The Hammer"
He's a former Magnimarian gladiator from the Grand Hippodrome- Serpent's Run.
He's recently completed his first couple of missions of the Pathfinder Society and is excited to get sent to Isger.

GM Elberion |

Some nosey questions:
And, why three traits?

![]() |

Both keen insights:
Wielding it as a martial, he'll eventually get exotic prof.
I didn't double check him after buying a MW Taiaha after his second adventure, since it worked correctly with a non-MW one. I've fixed it on my sheet, thank you, appreciate the look.
HL also got several other bugs surrounding the weird weapon which I've reported and they said they don't plan on fixing.
Serpent Runner is a campaign trait and not normally even legal in PFS. I have a PaizoCon 2013 boon that gives me a campaign trait from Varisia, Birthplace of Legends. I can provide a picture if required.

This guy will be it. This was a surprise for me, I was just answering a question or rather clarifying something up and got picked.
He has played one game but is still level 1. He is a Weapon Master Longbow Fighter.

GM Elberion |

Be aware, this adventure is designed to be core-friendly (it's not purely core though) and is designed to give opportunities for a classic party to shine: fighter, rogue, wizard, cleric.
You might want to consider equipment and/or class features which compensate for anything you are missing.
Just a reminder because this adventure was not originally written with PFS in mind. Only seems fair to point that out.

Anyone have rope, that is one of the most important things in a dungeon. I would buy some, but I'm saving up for spider silk rope.

OG3 checking in with Grel.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
I should get a few posts in daily. Posting from California to set time zone expectations.

GM Elberion |

I have rolled again on the lottery and invited a replacement from the recruitment thread.
Menhir Savant is a cool name for an archetype.

GM Elberion |

Just waiting for a reply to my PM from the substitute player.
Currently ready to go:
PDXCook - Carson Stevenson - Human Unchained Rogue
Pirate Rob - Harada 'The Hammer' - Human Fighter
DoubleGold - Johnny Sniper - Sylph Fighter
OG3 - Grel Veldgott - Dwarf Druid
Expected
tgoodman2003 - Kay Leafwalker - Aasimar Oracle
It's been 48 hours since I sent the PM.
If I don't get a reply soon, I may return to the lottery.
That said, I did aim for a Wednesday or Friday start so Kay has a little time yet.

GM Elberion |

Would everyone please post their PCs PFS number in this thread when you get the chance?
Cheers.

GM Elberion |

Kay has been in touch.
We will kick off on Friday, all being well.
Thank you for posting PFS numbers.

So I finally got on here!!
WOOT! OMG, tough week/month. I'm glad I'm in a group though. Thanks for rolling my name!
Kayan Leafwalker, Oracle (Pei Zin Archetype). I'm a healer and I can't do crud except that and Aid Another. I'm here for the party!
PFS: 124473-2

GM Elberion |

Fantastic to have you aboard Kay!
I will put down the first post later today.

![]() |

I finished Dming a game earlier today, so I was apply to apply credit to him.
XP:2 still level 1, PP:3, and starting gold is 492

GM Elberion |

After our first week, time for a feedback request.
How are you finding the social RP? Too guided? Too loose? Too subtle? Too obvious?
Is the dialect confusing or flavourful? Or both? Or neither?
How's the pacing? Moving on too fast? Dragging?
Any other feedback also gratefully received!

![]() |

I'm early in my PbP career but happy to share some comments.
I'm pretty satisfied with the pace and dialogue. We're still early on in the module so I don't think I can give a complete assessment for your skills quite yet :)
How is the pace from your perspective? Are we posting enough to get us moving forward? Should our posts be more active?

![]() |

Yeah, what Grel said about very early in the game. Play by Post goes slow. You have Dmed the equivalent of about 15 minutes in real life, can't evaluate you yet.

![]() |

Seems fine.
Modules in PFS can be a little tricky because you need to have a VC give the PCs a reason to go do things, but not to give away the hidden plot twists at the same time.
I thought the impress the mayor so that he'll let you copy these books we're interested was a great hook.

GM Elberion |

Thanks for the thoughts.
It is early days, fair enough.
Kay's latest post made me think: if anyone has any distinctive physical features, please make it clear, either in your profile or through early RP, so that it can be part of the adventure.
My first impressions: Grel is dusty 'carved from stone' looking version of his avatar.
Harada is a big lad with a big hammer
Carson is like his avatar
Johnny: not sure, does he look as extraordinary as the avatar? I know finding avatars for unusual races can be tricky.
Kay: Masked as in the avatar, gawdy-dress, scarred beneath mask
??

My mother-in-law had a second stroke and is hooked up to a breathing machine. Finally got my wife plane tickets as she is overseas where she is from. I'm back now and should be good to go. Been stressed out. Just wanted to give an update.

GM Elberion |

Blimey, that's full on. I hope everything works out alright.

GM Elberion |

On initiative.
I plan to follow standard forum procedure and play out initiative in blocks.
As things stand in this combat with the ants, there are only two blocks after the first few goes: Ants and PCs.

GM Elberion |

I've been thinking about how to handle aid another and, with Kay's input, I have chosen a solution.
Two ways to use aid another:
1. Offer of help: a PC can make an aid another check on a topic which has come up and leave it hanging for another player to take.
Player A: I'll try to help anyone who investigates the object (rolls aid another)
Player B: I'll take that help (investigates object, adds aid another bonus to check)
2. Ask for help: a PC can ask for another to provide help and they can respond with aid another.
Player B: This door looks heavy, you want to lend me a hand? (Rolls check)
Player A: Sure, I'm glad to help (makes aid another roll)
This way seems fair, in the spirit of the rules and meshes role play with rollplay.
Any thoughts, suggestions, criticisms, concerns, improvements, refinements?

GM Elberion |

So, we've got two players who haven't posted in a fortnight.
If we recruit new players we could, because this is a module, complete this bit in campaign mode and return to full PFS for the second and third parts. Everyone who still get all of the necessary credit for their PCs.
The alternative is to play on with three?

GM Hmm |

Elberion, I saw your post in PFS General Discussion and decided to drop by. How far into the module are you guys? If you go campaign mode, all the players are committing to all three adventures.
Hmm

![]() |

Just want to make sure I understand the options.
We can recruit now for new members to join us in parts 2 and 3.
or
We can press on with 3 for all 3 parts?
Just want to understand how this impacts the credit I get.

GM Elberion |

Thank you, HMM!
So, we have venture lieutenant permission to bring in replacements at full credit.
